BAC Strikemaster FGA.1 - No.208 Squadron, RAF Middle East Command, 1966 In the so-called 'Aden Protectorate' (today part of Yemen) during the early 1960's various disparate anti-British guerrilla groups slowly formed into two larger organisations consisting of the Egyptian-supported National Liberation Front and the Front for the Liberation of Occupied South Yemen. Attacks against the British began at a relatively low level but suddenly escalated on December 14th, 1963 with an National Liberation Front grenade attack at Khormaksar Airport that killed two people and injured another fifty including the British High Commissioner. Later on the same day a state of emergency was declared in Aden. Attacks against British forces by the National Liberation Front and the Front for the Liberation of Occupied South Yemen continued and relied mainly on grenade attacks largely focused on killing off-duty British officers and policemen. In 1964 the British 24th Infantry Brigade arrived to conduct land operations and the RAF station at Khormaksar was quickly expanded, eventually operating nine squadrons including the Hawker Hunter fighter-bombers of No.208 Squadron who had been previously based at RAF Muharraq in Bahrain. Air strikes by fighter-bombers against the mobile guerilla forces were often ineffective and Army commanders considered that with complete air superiority then perhaps a slower aircraft with an observer assisting the pilot might be a more accurate combination in supporting British ground forces and attacking the rebels. BAC had already been proposing an armed version of the Jet Provost to the RAF for weapons training without success but tried again towards the end of 1964 and were rewarded with a production contract for 50 armed Jet Provost trainers in January 1965. With the Jet Provost T.5 still on the BAC production line and BAC already developing the private venture BAC 167 Strikemaster then the new aircraft was developed very quickly. Essentially an armed version of the Jet Provost T.5, the Strikemaster FGA.1 featured an uprated Rolls-Royce Viper turbojet engine, four underwing hardpoints, two machine guns under the intakes and new communication and navigation gear. Entering service in February 1966 with No.208 squadron at RAF Khormaksar the Strikemaster force was expanded when No.8 Squadron re-equipped with the type in April 1966. Both units flew armed reconnaissance sorties in the Radfan and Dhala areas a difficult task as the rugged terrain aided concealment and camouflage. The Hunter FR.10's of No. 1417 Flight and the Shackleton MR.3's of No.37 Squadron helped with pre-strike and post-strike photographs and during the Autumn of 1966 the rebel forces in the Radfan area increasingly used caves to store arms and ammunition. These difficult targets were successfuly attacked by both the Strikemaster ground-attack squadrons often under FAC control. However, repeated guerrilla attacks against British forces by the National Liberation Front continued (and subsequently increased after the 1967 Six-Day war) causing the British to leave Aden by the end of November 1967. Following the British departure, the National Liberation Front managed to seize power and establish the People's Republic of South Yemen. The Radfan Strikefighter wing returned to the UK to form a new Tactical Weapons Unit at RAF Brawdy operating the type until 1991. Skin Credit: allenjb42

Sorry for the late response I was so busy. It's when a bunch of local politicians get together to set policy for and finance a local public transit. The video is below. Big Covid19 stuff at 42:12 til 1:18:52, 1:32:47 til 1:37:20, 1:39:14 til 1:42:20 and 1:42:45 til 1:47:27. Things are so serious for transit operators the Community Transit operator's union is posting weekday Facebook updates and the national unions are getting aggressive. Yes, if you depend on transit... essential trips only please!

The RAAF implemented a policy of either historical nose arts on its B-1 fleet or of native wildlife, with a preference to birds. oddly, until 2011 A55-058 never recieved a nose art. that was until the Chitose Airshow of 2011. while on a stop at Kadena, the crew chiefs took the oppurtunity to add artwork from a popular Canadian cartoon , with a twist. The PM of Japan loved it soo much that he gushed over it during a televised meeting with the Australian PM. while the noseart violated official guidance on the bomber artwork, this high level approval meant it was mostly left alone. the title was removed in hopes of not angering the Hasbro executives. but that was how the blank bomber became Rainbow Dash

I would think they'd definitely go to what the RAAF F-111s were painted in the 2000s - a semi-light grey. They'd also pack a lotta Harpoons, Popeye and J-DAM. For starters. As to the future of the RAAF B-1Bs... well AIM-120s and even Gabriel & SPICE missiles from Israel would come eventually in the late 1990s making them B-1K Keatings that Dale Brown readers would salivate over. This was in return for a secret agreement Israel could use the bombers in a national emergency such as if Israel was about to be overrun or if Iran posed too much of a nuclear threat - and Israel would help Australia if Australia was in existential danger. Israel eventually would show up at Perth Airport with refueling tankers in mid-November 2020 to collect on that debt of honor and annihilate Iran's nuclear capability with reflagged B-1Ks in their only "in anger" performance creating a second front too much for Iranian air defenses to handle with no RAAF/IDF losses. You may wonder how in the 2003-2008 participation in the Iraq War and the ISIS conflict the B-1Ks were able to sit those out while the RAAF sent F/A-18As and eventually F/A-18Fs? It had to be made clear time & again to US Central Command that the B-1Ks were intended to serve as Australia's non-nuclear strategic deterrent to protect the Australian homeland - not to fly sorties as J-DAM trucks and flying boom boxes over the Middle East. It helped when until late 2020 very few knew of the fine details of the secret Israeli-Australian agreement plus few in the US Government were ever wild about expanding the nuclear club to anyone except for some loudmouth named Donald J. Trump who had to watch Israel & Australia (and covertly some Middle Eastern nations like Iraq) whack Iran a week after Joe Biden became President-elect. The People's Republic of China got the memo once the agreement was released via a leak to the Aussie press and had to give direct, firm reassurances they had no intention to initiate hostilities against anyone. Also never again would the PRC allow a pandemic leave their shores either... fearing a Prime Minister Anthony Albanese would make good on his threat to send the B-1Ks with new stealth cruise missiles after the People's Liberation Army Navy if another Covid-19 landed on Aussie shores. The Aussies were able to keep their big stick around for so long by limiting flight hours, gracious Israeli assistance with the avionics & weapons to the point of Israeli refurbishing the avionics so the B-1K could be flown by two aircrew if desired, cannibalizing aging USAF B-1Bs for parts, and growing use of 3-d printing. It was part of the Australian political consensus with a rising People's Republic of China + other regional troublemakers the harsh lessons of World War II and 11 September wouldn't be forgotten. Eventually in the late 2020s with no replacement for the B-1 except for the B-21 Raider retained for US-use only, the RAAF decided to replace what became B-1Cs with F-15EXs upgraded by Israel.

Douglas EB-66C Destroyer Update Pak (Ver.2) 8/16/2019 = For SF2, Any & All = This is an update/upgrade/Remod of my 2013 pack. This is considered to be "version 2.0" of the EB-66C Destroyer ELINT/Escort Jammer aircraft. It it designed to replace, in total the earlier package from August 2013. If you have the original pack, you are instructed to delete it completly (aircraft, decals, and all), as this one has some major imporvements. This remod pack contains 2 skins: 41st TEWS, 355th TFW, PACAF, Takhli RTAFB, mid-60s thru 1974-ish (RC tail code) 39th TEWS, 36th TFW, USAFE, Spangdahelm AB 1969-73 (JN tail code) Both are new, and are (hopefully!) in the correct SEA 3-tone camoflague colors. All NEW replacement serial number decals were created. Both skins use a pool of 36 100% historical serial numbers. As only 36 of these aircraft were built (in one block of 30 and a second of 6) it was a easy job. While totaly accurate in nature, the 36 numbers are not representative of individual aircraft of any unit or squadrons that used the EB-66C (other than by random happenstance). Decal randomization is TRUE. As with the other B-66 mods, a heavily edited cockpit designed to 'fit' within the existing canopy framing is included. Avionics have been upgraded with new jammers, chaff dispensers, and so forth. This aircraft carries =NO= offensive weapons, or defensive guns. FLY ACCORDINGLY!!! A small modification to the data ini also allows for carrying external jammer pods & chaff dispensers in place of the drop tanks. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. Please read them! See "Change Log" in the Notes section for a full-ish list of what's been, well, changed! Happy SAM Dodging!! Wrench Kevin Stein

DESERT 4 Mountain Regions+ Addon by Centurion and Piecemeal Requires Piecemeals Desert 4 Terrain available here: http://combatace.com/files/file/14551-desert-terrain-v4/ DESCRIPTION This addon is for Piecemeals excellent Desert Terrain V.4 and adds more diversity to the mountain regions by adding several new tileset types. In addition to this, Piecemeal has modified all the city regions to be more diverse and less "square" and also changed movement routes and such. Overall, this makes the region more interesting to fly over. IMPORTANT NOTICE This patch updates the airfield names from the generic D1, D2 and so on to be specific place names. This will break you campaign files!!! Changing them to fix it is a simple matter of find-and-replace-all in notepad, however. Saved files will not work any more. KNOWN ISSUES Two airfields in the mountain regions have flattening issues that I have not been able to correct, if anyone could help us fix that would be great. AI Planes are bit bouncy there but the airbases are fully usable, it is mostly a visual issue. CREDITS: Piecemeal for the excellent V.4 terrain and the city tiling work + data tweaks. TK for SF2 and the whole Dhimar/Paran scenario. Stary and JSF Aggie for the tiles used here. Centurion for doing the cut/paste operations required to bring this together. Minor tile tweaks. INSTALLATION Unzip the whole folder into your Terrains/Desert4 folder.
