L-410UVP-T Turbolet ***************************************************** This mod is made for SF2. ---------------------------------------------------------- I. History The czech made L-410UVP light passenger and transport plane was developed to replace the old AN-2 biplanes. After a first version, called L-410A, the soviet Aeroflot airline demanded some changes, including better short take off capabilities. So the version L-410UVP was developed and widely exported in the COMECON states. The east german air force LSK, purchased 10 planes in 1980. They used it as training airplane for tranport pilots and navigators and for transport tasks. Parachute missions were made with the subversion L-410UVP-T (t- stands for Transport). VIP transport was made with subversion L-410UVP-S (s stands for Salon). Both versions were easy to discriminate. The T version had a black rubber plate behind the side door. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- II. 2 pointsBAC Strikemaster FGA.1 - No.208 Squadron, RAF Middle East Command, 1966 In the so-called 'Aden Protectorate' (today part of Yemen) during the early 1960's various disparate anti-British guerrilla groups slowly formed into two larger organisations consisting of the Egyptian-supported National Liberation Front and the Front for the Liberation of Occupied South Yemen. Attacks against the British began at a relatively low level but suddenly escalated on December 14th, 1963 with an National Liberation Front grenade attack at Khormaksar Airport that killed two people and injured another fifty including the British High Commissioner. Later on the same day a state of emergency was declared in Aden. Attacks against British forces by the National Liberation Front and the Front for the Liberation of Occupied South Yemen continued and relied mainly on grenade attacks largely focused on killing off-duty British officers and policemen. In 1964 the British 24th Infantry Brigade arrived to conduct land operations and the RAF station at Khormaksar was quickly expanded, eventually operating nine squadrons including the Hawker Hunter fighter-bombers of No.208 Squadron who had been previously based at RAF Muharraq in Bahrain. Air strikes by fighter-bombers against the mobile guerilla forces were often ineffective and Army commanders considered that with complete air superiority then perhaps a slower aircraft with an observer assisting the pilot might be a more accurate combination in supporting British ground forces and attacking the rebels. BAC had already been proposing an armed version of the Jet Provost to the RAF for weapons training without success but tried again towards the end of 1964 and were rewarded with a production contract for 50 armed Jet Provost trainers in January 1965. With the Jet Provost T.5 still on the BAC production line and BAC already developing the private venture BAC 167 Strikemaster then the new aircraft was developed very quickly. Essentially an armed version of the Jet Provost T.5, the Strikemaster FGA.1 featured an uprated Rolls-Royce Viper turbojet engine, four underwing hardpoints, two machine guns under the intakes and new communication and navigation gear. Entering service in February 1966 with No.208 squadron at RAF Khormaksar the Strikemaster force was expanded when No.8 Squadron re-equipped with the type in April 1966. Both units flew armed reconnaissance sorties in the Radfan and Dhala areas a difficult task as the rugged terrain aided concealment and camouflage. The Hunter FR.10's of No. 1417 Flight and the Shackleton MR.3's of No.37 Squadron helped with pre-strike and post-strike photographs and during the Autumn of 1966 the rebel forces in the Radfan area increasingly used caves to store arms and ammunition. These difficult targets were successfuly attacked by both the Strikemaster ground-attack squadrons often under FAC control. However, repeated guerrilla attacks against British forces by the National Liberation Front continued (and subsequently increased after the 1967 Six-Day war) causing the British to leave Aden by the end of November 1967. Following the British departure, the National Liberation Front managed to seize power and establish the People's Republic of South Yemen. The Radfan Strikefighter wing returned to the UK to form a new Tactical Weapons Unit at RAF Brawdy operating the type until 1991. Skin Credit: allenjb42

2 pointsTrue, but see it from a strategic point of view. Under president Obama the USA politicians believed that Russia is the major threat for the US dominance of the world. But Trump realized, that China is the big enemy of tomorrow. Chinas influence has to hedged. For India China is an opponent too. If it would come to a conflict between India and China the chinese influence on France could be so massive, that France would sell no more planes or spareparts to India. With the antagonism between USA and China, India can be sure that the USA would never to yield to the pressure of China. So the supply of weapons and spareparts would be safe for India.

2 pointsHi everybody. I love the combat ace family. I want the map of Syria exactly as the friends say, but the tiles should be realistic like the map of Israel. And Turkey's NATO air strike that also want to revive the civil war in Syria, the Russian. In addition, the region is very lively in terms of air combat in real life. The last 2 su-24 were even dropped. My English is not good so I apologize if my articles are wrong.

1 pointThere's an AIRCRAFTAIDATA.INI in ObjectData001.cat. What we've done, for example for say WW2 dive bombers, and many others, is ADD the AI sections to the specific aircraft data ini. They can be edited from there These are the relevant statements from the AI data ini: add and happy editing! (also, check out the AI sections in the WW2 dive bombers, SBD, SB2C, etc

1 pointHello everybody, The weather in Moscow isn't really fitting for April, but these times it doesn't make a big difference; we're continuing the work on the project. The 4.005 beta testing is nearly finished, and soon you'll see by yourself what all the latest DDs were about. So today we'll tell you a bit about the current work that will yield more distant results. We have mentioned before that we're working on moving the graphics engine to Deferred rendering and now this process gives good results. The main goal in implementing this renderer is to open new visual possibilities while keeping the current level of performance and not making it worse. Till the recent time, we could only hope that having both options is possible at all, while our Lead Programmer Sergey Vorsin was working confidently and his task is nearly finished. We have managed to keep the general level of performance during this transition intact and we already can show you one of the possibilities this technology opens for our sim. The first visual bonus that comes from Deferred Shading is the dramatic improvement of the quality of the reflections on various surfaces. While the existing reflection system was progressive for its time, today the standards are upped. For instance, its issues include too much bloom in reflections from various aircraft surfaces, the lack of diffusion of the reflections - they should be softer and more natural-looking. The new tech makes this possible, resulting in more realistic visuals. Here are a couple of screenshots showing this: But the improvements are not limited to the existing reflections on the external model of an aircraft. Now a feature that was requested by the community for a long time becomes technically possible - reflections in the canopy and instrument glass. In other games this effect is imitated using a prepared or generated texture which is rendered on the glass surfaces without following the laws of optics - this technique gives a cool wow-effect for a couple of times, but it quickly becomes annoying when you realize it is fake. Deferred Shading allows us to create complex and optically correct reflections in the cockpit. They depend on the external lighting and environment of course, the camera position in the cockpit and other factors. It's clear that the best way to show you this new effect would be a video, but it will be ready later - we're still working on this new reflection effect. Today we can show you a couple of screenshots that demonstrate this effect in general though: The work on the new pilot models we announced earlier for Battle of Moscow, Battle of Stalingrad and Battle of Kuban continues as well. Earlier we published the WIP images of the new Soviet pilot in Summer uniform without textures that weren't ready, but now we have the completed models both in Summer and Winter uniforms and for early and late war timeframes as well. At the moment we're working on the animations for the new models for all Soviet aircraft in the project - and started the work on the new German pilot model of the early war. To finish today's Dev Blog we want to present you the new work of =HH=Pauk, this time he created the new promo video for Flying Circus. We think the author has managed to the feel of the last knights' epoch perfectly, highlighting the project potential. Enjoy:

1 pointSince the topic starter comes from Turkey, i guess he wants to fly turkish jets to protect islamistic rebels, Al-Kaida and IS forces against the bad, godless russians and shia troops from Iran, Lebanon and Assads alewitish squadrons. As far as i know there is no map, which covers the area of the turkish syrian border. But this would be no big problem to build such a terrain. The question is, who should do that. AFAIK all terrain builders are working on their own projects. For me it is rebuilding Battle of Britain terrain and a new version of Kuril Islands, so i have no time to start an other project. The solution would be: help yourself, so help you god. ( no matter what god you believe in) A tutorial, how to make a terrain, is available at Knowledgebase of Strike Fighters 1, here in this forum.
