Republic F-7A Thunderstorm - Thunderstorm Test & Evaluation Flight, Tactical Air Command, United States Air Force, 1965 During late 1958 the Langley Laboratory made the breakthrough that led to the realisation of a valid variable-sweep wing and by early 1959 Tactical Air Command (TAC) could see that this massive technological breakthrough could be the key to help them in their search for a tactical strike fighter to replace both the F-100 Super Sabre andthe F-105 Thunderchief. Pretty soon however the numerical values for unrefuelled range and payload that TAC had attached to their mission requirements had the effect of turning all the paper studies from F-105 sized machines to much larger tactical bombers with a corresponding increase in cost and price and this reduced affordability was of great concern to TAC. In the Autumn of 1959 TAC wisely decided to split their requirement into a smaller tactical fighter to replace the F-100 and a larger tactical bomber to replace the F-105, B-57 and B-66. The larger aircraft would evolve into Specific Operational RequirementNo.183 that would launch the important TFX (tactical fighter experimental) programme and eventually lead (via a tortuous route) to the outstanding but highly compromised F-111 family whilst the smaller aircraft would lead to Specific Operational Requirement No.182 or TAX (tactical aircraft experimental). Issued in March 1960 SOR182 called for a single-seat tactical fighter aircraft with “reduced dependence of paved runways” and with “the ability to carry a nuclear bomb at supersonic speed at tree-top height”. Requests for Proposals were immediately sent out to industry and Republic Aviation’s proposal soon gained the support of TAC by virtue of its use of a variable-sweep wing but also by the use of the existing J75 turbojet and F-105 avionics. With the end of F-105 production on the horizon Republic Aviation pushed hard for SOR182/TAX and in February 1961 they were rewarded with a contract for 24 prototype and pre-production YF-110 aircraft and 400 production F-110A machines and Republic wasted no time in bestowing the name of ‘Thunderstorm’ to the latest of their long line of fighter aircraft. Republic Aviation were fortunate in being awarded the contract before Secretary of Defence Robert S. McNamara had got into his stride and the programme largely escaped McNamara and his whiz-kids. Development moved swiftly and during 1962 the programme was re-designated F-7 under the new tri-service designation scheme and the first prototype took to the air on December 22nd 1962 a full year ahead of the F-111A. Entering service in June 1965 the F-7A was followed by the F-7B two-seat trainer version and the more advanced F-7C version that first deployed to Vietnam in March 1968 when a two-squadron wing transferred to Takhli Royal Thia AFB, Thailand in a deployment called ‘Combat Lancer’.

The Mystère IV was an evolutionary development of the Mystère II aircraft. Although bearing an external resemblance to the earlier aircraft, the Mystère IV was in fact a new design with aerodynamic improvements for supersonic flight. The prototype first flew on 28 September 1952, and the aircraft entered service in April 1953. The first 50 Mystere IVA production aircraft were powered by British Rolls-Royce Tay turbojets, while the remainder had the French-built Hispano-Suiza Verdon 350 version of that engine. This plane was "the star" of War of the Stripes over Suez in 1956 France was the main operator of the Mystère IV and at the peak usage operated 6 squadrons. Most of the aircraft were purchased under a United States Offshore Procurement contract and many were returned to US custody after they were retired. In April 1953 the United States government and the United States Air Force placed an order for 223 aircraft to be operated by the French. The new Mystère IVs were used in the 1956 Suez Crisis and continued in use into the 1980s The Mystère IV became Israel's first swept-wing fighter when an order for Mystère IIs was changed to 24 Mystère IVs in 1955, which were delivered from April to June 1956, equipping 101 Squadron. A further 36 were delivered in August 1956, with a final aircraft, equipped for reconnaissance duties, delivered in September 1956. On 29 October 1956, when Israel attacked Egypt in the opening move of what became known as the Suez Crisis, invading the Sinai Peninsula, the Mystères of 101 Squadron were deployed on both air-to-air and ground attack mission. A second squadron, 109 Squadron was equipped with the Mystère IV in December 1956, while 101 Squadron passed its Mystères to 116 Squadron in November 1961. Israel planned to replace the Mystère IV with the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk, but 109 and 116 Squadron still operated the French fighter on the outbreak of the Six-Day War. The Mystère was finally retired from Israeli service on 18 March 1971. India procured 104 of aircraft in 1957 and used them extensively in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. The phasing out of the aircraft started soon after the 1965 Indo-Pakistani War, though it saw further action in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, it was completely phased out of the Indian Air Force by 1973. This is a big High Res update of my previous and other modders skins and new ones. Plane tweaking. Hi! While dead calm reigns here, I decided to revive the topic a bit, paying attention primarily to the good old Martinsyde G100/102, also known as the "Elephant". Do you all have these wonderful planes? Geezer created a beautiful model that presents us the fully armed Martinsyde G100/102 - with a forward firing Lewis machine gun mounted on the top wing, with a camera on the starboard side of the cockpit and with a second Lewis gun mounted to the side of the fuselage, firing to the rear of the aircraft. Moreover, the second machine gun is controlled by a virtual rear gunner, so this gun has very large sectors of fire. All this, of course, is beautiful, but, alas, not entirely realistic. Everyone understands that not all the "Elephants" constantly flew with a camera. It is also known that the second machine gun was not installed on all aircraft of this type. Indeed, many photographs of the "Elephants" have survived, but only on some of them we see this second firing point. Most often, in the sources there is an assertion that an additional fixed machine gun was installed on some "Elephants", but it was removed in combat units, due to its complete uselessness. But the fact is that the second machine gun was never installed on G100/102. It was a field improvisation, most often on a pivot from FE.2 or BE.2. Generally, the "Elephant" was considered by the British exclusively as a single-seat tactical bomber, as the "strutter" or BE.12. The fact that both of them later showed a certain “fighter's” potential it was an accident. According to the memoirs, the “strutter”, for example, had low longitudinal stability, his nose was hanging up and down like a dick in pants. In short - seize the moment when the enemy will be in the sight for a split second, but almost no one could keep it there, even on naval planes such as 9600L, which from the very beginning were considered as long-range escort fighters. The “Elephant” was much more stable. According to the state specification, defensive weapons were not supposed for single-seat tactical bombers. That is - at all. Exceptions were quite frequent, but this was a deviation from the point of view of the main customer, who did not care a damn about the opinion of the pilots. The latter circumstance is not unique, but in Britain during WWI it showed itself in all its glory. Thus, in the application you will find three variants of FM for both Martinsyde G100 and the G102. The first option is an airplane without a camera, but with a rear machine gun. The second option is with a camera, but without a rear machine gun. The third option is without a camera and a rear machine gun. n addition, I removed the mobility of the rear machine gun, since it was practically impossible to pilot airplane in dogfight and conduct aimed fire from the rear gun. However, you can leave this gun partially movable like here: // Crew --------------------------------------------------------- [RearGunner] SystemType=GUNNER_STATION PilotModelName= SeatID=2 GunnerID=1 GunnerBodyNodeName=Gunner SetCockpitPosition=FALSE Position=-0.409,-1.495,0.228 MinExtentPosition=-0.45,-1.553,0.2 MaxExtentPosition=-0.359,-1.439,0.295 PitchModelNodeName=Gun01 YawModelNodeName=GunMount GunRange=400 PitchAngleRate=12 MaxPitch=10 MinPitch=0.0 DefaultPitchAngle=0.0 YawLimited=TRUE YawAngleRate=45 MaxYaw=220 MinYaw=180 DefaultYawAngle=170 The package also includes several alternative DATA files for Camel's family and Salmson, as well as for the F.E. 8 by A-Team. These five flight models are no different from the original, with the exception of a working wind-mill fuel pump. I dedicate this light mod to the memory of Geezer's undertakings, which were not destined to come true Have fun with it! FM_Pack.rar

That looks nice, but FSX is a waste for a combat helo with those capabilities. A long time ago, there was a pretty complete Airwolf mod for Operation Flashpoint. The models and textures look very dated at this point, but Operation Flashpoint was the perfect game engine for recreating Airwolf episodes as you could get in and out of the helo, drive vehicles, and fight bad guys in the air or on the ground. The only real drawback to helo operations in Operation Flashpoint was the flight model. But the FM was good enough to enjoy the variety of missions possible with scripting and open sandbox world.

SF2 F-15A Eagle, Hawaii Air National Guard Skin Pack 5/19/2020 = For SF2 (Any & All, Full-5 Merged Preferred) = *You must have the STOCK F-15A in you hanger to make use of this mod!!* This is a reskinning of the stock (3rd Wire) F-15A Eagle as used by the 199th TFS, 154 TFW of the Hawaiian Air National Gurad from 1987 to 2010, when they were replaced by F-22 Raptors. (It should be noted, F-15Cs were also used, alongside their older siblings). This mod uses the stock skin, with various decals. All markings are decals, especially the squadron and nose zaps. I was unable to run down historical serial numbers, so 26 stock 3W decals are (re) used. Decal randomization is TRUE. When in-game, on the "select skin" drop down, you'll see: 199th TFS, HI ANG (87-09) This will assist you in selecting the skin. As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them .... they can be accessed after unzippering. Please follow the 'usual instructions' Happy Landing!
