4 pointsAbout 10 years ago, I proposed designing an AWACS mod for SF1 with the B707 CONDOR (IAI 707 PHALCON) in mind ... the idea is to give that feature to a participant for an online game ... using the F-5F technique or the current tonka, could alternate between the cabin and the controller, and for the latter the avionics considered rwr mobile maps, symbols and everything available in the sim for this function, obviously we will not reach as much as a data link, but it would be an entertaining feature for online combat

1 pointView File realSKY Environment realSKY Environment January 13th, 2019 (1st Release) by Menrva >For Strike Fighters 2 games This is my sky enhancement mod. It also combines the work of many other modders, in order to provide a realistic, better looking sky. Here below a quick summary of the changes: -Tweaked sky colours, something in between Cellinsky's widesky and the stock SF2 colours. -More realistic Night colours, sky and ambient are much darker. -More atmospheric, reddish transition from Twilight to Night. -New "dark blue" High Altitude colours (fly near space with a NF-104). -Moon produces a yellowish light instead of the default purple. -Sky is "wider" much like Cellinsky's widesky mod (background horizon clouds are bigger and more noticeable). -Added beautiful cloud graphics made by Cellinsky and ShrikeHawk, tweaked for each weather type. -Added a low number of stray clouds to Clear weather. -Added noticeable clouds to Overcast weather and Inclement weather, "fixing" a known SF2 "bug". -Combined various mods to produce a more interesting Rain Effect under Inclement weather. -Added Stary's lens flare effects from the SARCASM 2 mod, in place of Cellinsky's widesky effects. -Added Cloud Layer graphics by Stary, Fubar512 and Brain32. -Reworked secondary atmospheric effects, such as contrails and wingtip vortexes. In addition, the package includes alternative environment configuration files in the Alternative Weather folder; they enable different effects for the Inclement weather. You can choose between thunderstorm (default, adapt for most terrains), snowstorm (for cold, icy terrains) and sandstorm (for hot, desert terrains). For those who wish not to change the effect globally, I highly suggest to try the included terrain-specific environment example provided for stock SF2 terrains; the default global effect is thunderstorm, while terrains with their own environment file either use sandstorm or snowstorm as appropriate. Use this as a basis to customize other terrains. By setting the Effects to Unlimited, the game makes use of a DirectX 10 post processing effect; the stock game's post processing shader generates a pointless and horrible bloom effect which excessively blinds the player during twilight transitions. By default, realSKY includes a reworked post processing shader (TWPOSTPROCESS.FX) which provides more contrast, more vignetting, minor color correction and a daytime-only bloom effect, so it's miles better than what the stock game offers. Alternative post processing tweaks are included in the Alternative Shaders folder; choose the one you wish to try (check the included screenshots for fast comparisons) and overwrite the default one in your mod's Flight folder. If you don't care about the post processing effect, you may want to set the game's Effects to High in the Options menu. >Credits (in no particular order): -Cellinsky, for his fantastic widesky mod from which I borrowed some tweaks. -Stary, for his Thunderstorm and Heavy Snowfall weather mods, and his SARCASM 2 beta mod from which I borrowed some effects. -PanamaRed, for tweaks in regards to Clouds (especially the Broken weather ones). -Fubar512 and Brain32, for their Cloud Layer Top bitmaps, which I have smoothed for a better looking effect. -ShrikeHawk, for his CloudSkins mods, from which I took the spectacular cloud graphics. -BearGryllis, for his Thunderstorm Pack With Enhanced Lightnings 2.0b package. -Orsin, for his Improved Rain Effect and Heavy Rain 0.8 mods. -luk1978, for his interesting WeatherEffect package. -ArmedLightning, for his Special FX v2.2 mod for the GTR 2 game, from which I borrowed a lens flare effect. -baffmeister, for the idea of recreating sandstorm weather effects. -tiopilotos, for suggesting improvements on other subjects. -Eagle114th, for his Improved Wingtip Vortex mod which I have reworked. -JosefK, guuruu and Coupi, for their interest and support. I included the original readme files from the mentioned mods, where available, to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not. >Disclaimer: This is a freeware; yet it can be redistributed ONLY in other CombatACE mods/mod packages. This mod may NOT in any way, shape or form be used in any payware additions. Submitter Menrva Submitted 01/13/2019 Category Environmental Mods

1 pointI looked into F-4s stock range (and into some from download section as well) planes and I discovered that none of them use avionics70.dll. In SF1 radar display was looking great in that higher resolution because of that. I tried tweak/mix it a little to match the old settings of SF1 but I can't make it use a higher resolution for the radar display, meaning that TK F-4s (SF2) cockpits won't match with SF1 F-4 avionics. It works (the radar avionics I spoke about above) if I change the whole cockpit with ones from SF1 but I really Ilike TK's SF2 cockpits so I wanna keep them somehow. Am I missing something here ? Did anyone look into this matter (ever) here ? is there a way around I can't think of for the moment ?

1 pointHi. I made it as a stand-in for an RAAF E-7A Wedgetail, using Veltro2K's E-767 with acesfakia's MESA radar added. If I get permission I might put it up. I've never uploaded anything before. ☺

1 pointI just changed altitude entries in MISSIONCONTROL.INI: [Altitude] Normal=7000 Low=1500 VeryLow=100 High=9000 VeryHigh=12000 and they fly high enough. All flights.

1 pointI marked, AircraftRole = BOMBER and add lines [LevelBombAI] ReleaseAlt=6096.0 ReleaseCount=24 ReleaseInterval=0.1 now all AWACS flight is on much higher altitude, the problem that still exists is in the campaign. How to generate more of these EARLY_WARNING fligts. What determines their appearance?

1 pointEven if there is no real AWACS coordination into the game , you can try, for a change and atmosphere, to adapt my AWACS mod, from SF1, to SF2. (I will make a proper AWACS mod for SF2 , too, but is not in my to do list for now). Check them out here: In it you lead , in a recon mission, a group of 3 (or more) aicraft, but one of it is AWACS (the one you fly it), the rest are the escort. You set, for your plane (the AWACS), the easyradar and then you can lock on everything on the map, emulating exactly like an AWACS could. Being a recon miission you will have almost max of enemy flights on the map and , at some moment one flight will see/detect and accelerate (even fire at) to get you. You can give specific order to engage plane on your path (this time at "WINGMAN" commands TWO escort planes will react , instead of one , making things interesting. If your escort has more planes wingman command will affect the No2 and No3 planes, the rest will correspond to the flights you have with you in the mission. It's fun and challenging to come back in one piece or with the whole escort untouched. Remember you need to have SOVIET formation activated (it takes 3 planes in formation instead of 4) and to tweak a little the Formation.ini file (to make them fly steady and parallel with you for instance). If interested I stand ready to assist.

1 pointView File SF2 F-86L "Lima" Sabre Dog Revamp Pack SF2 F-86L "Lima" Sabre Dog Revamp Pack 6/9/2020 "Quarantine Approved - Essential Mods" = For SF2 (Any & All) = This package is designed to replace the original F-86L from the pack available from the folowing URL: https://combatace.com/files/file/10286-sf2-f-86dl-v10/ by suhjake from 2009 It is =NOT= necessary to have the original mod pack, as this =WILL= replace it in total. Everything reusable from that pack will be included with this. If you do have the original installed, you will probably wish to remove, move, or delete it. Overwriting may cause conflicts. As the Lima's were mostly used by USAF Air National Guard units, that is what's covered here. The following units are depicted herein: 146th FIS PA ANG (57-60) 190th FIS ID ANG (59-64) 194th FIS, CA ANG (58-64) 199th FIS, HI ANG (58-61) 3550th CCTW, Moody AFB, GA (late 50s/early 60s) 3555th CCTW, Perin AFB, TX (late 50s/early/60s) and a USAF Silver (Generic) -a blank skin for other skinners to use. It does have the 'day glo' panels on the wings, fuselage and tail. As only the 194th is listed in the stock squadron list ini, it uses a level=1 decal to activate the displayed squadron name on the Loading/Skin selection screen. All of the Original Skins (PA ANG, 3550 & 3555 CCTWs) have been completely redone, although they remain in bmp format. All other skins are brand new for this package. 26 all new serial and buzz numbers, where used, have been created. While correct for this aircraft; all numbers are from the late-production Ds that were converted to Ls, they should be considered 'generic' in nature. State name identifiers and squadron markings are decals. Decal randomization is TRUE for all skins. All weapons, pilots, etc are included. A backup copy of the original Data ini is already provided, as this new one has many modifications and adjustments. As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them .... they can be accessed after unzipperizing. Please follow the 'usual instructions' Happy Landing! Wrench Kevin Stein Submitter Wrench Submitted 06/12/2020 Category F-86

1 pointI think you might have a problem with that cockpit. Your comm/IFF/nav control panel on the right side has a distinct case of doggy eyes. If you are not careful it will convince you to let it eat all of your survival rations before you even reach the target area.
