Dassault Aviation Mirage IIICX - 3 Staffel, Austrian Air Force, 1999 By the late 1970's it was clear that Austria's small force of sub-sonic Saab 105's were completely inadequate to defend Austrian airspace with reports suggesting that the Saab 105's even struggled to intercept stray business jets. In 1980 the Austrian Air Force announced a formal requirement for 30 modern fighter aircraft to replace the Saab 105's in the interception role from about 1985 onwards and allow the Saab 105's to remain in service as advanced training aircraft with a secondary surveillance role. In response, British Aerospace offered ex-Saudi Air Force Lightning F.Mk53's but the Austrian Air Force immediately rejected this offer due to the poor condition of the airframes and the Lightning's notoriously high maintenance costs. Saab offered Austria reconditioned J 35D Draken fighters and this appeared to be the front runner during 1981 but to everyone's surprise the contract for Austria's new fighter aircraft was awarded to Dassault Aviation for 30 refurbished ex-Armée de l'Air Mirage IIIC aircraft as the Mirage IIICX powered by the uprated SNECMA Atar 09K-50 engine developing 15,900lbs thrust in reheat. Entering service with 3 Staffel in April 1986 the Mirage IIICX's served the Austrian Air Force well and were eventually replaced by ex-Armée de l'Air Mirage 2000's during 2006-2008. This is a Beta mod, anyone who wants to help and finish it, thank you in advance. Also for campaigns that I failed to activate due to strategic nodes, ground troops are therefore inactive. I hope that someone will not resent me because I used some elements from other mods, all with the best intention to bring the best possible atmosphere to everyone on the forum here. Thank you for your understanding. I also thank my development team, first of all Stratos, Tiopilotos and others.

MiG-21F is the very early model, produced in small number. Weapons, two 30 mm guns, no rockets. F13 version is more liked and waited. Name is from K-13 (R-3) missiles, 2x.

I deliberately did NOT choose that designation as it's too similar to the Oz versions!

Sad but glad DD557 has been positively identified. Last I read a year+ ago they thought they found DD557 but weren't sure. I'm glad they are respecting the final resting place of her crew.

Dear Friends! Today’s DD is not long, but wanted to say that in addition to working on many aircraft, features and improvements, we’re also making some moves internally with the addition of, and search for, new personnel while adding responsibilities to others. This adds overhead costs to our operation which we hope will pay for itself in time, but we ask that you continue your financial support of Sturmovik throughout this spring and summer and al of 2021 by purchasing new content and buying gifts for your friends, family and squadron-mates. And please remember, purchases made directly in the IL-2 Official Webstore benefit the team the most! Without further delay, here are the first pics of the work-in-progress Nieuport 28.C1 for Flying Circus: Volume II. The N28 drafts the U.S. Air Service in the war and her slender lines make her a real beauty. Also notice our new Tactical Codes technology is present. The damage model is next up for her as well as DVD adaptation. …. Geronimo!!! No invasion of Normandy can be complete without paratroopers! These guys will be jumping from our C-47s later this year after they are properly animated. Enjoy your Easter weekend if you celebrate it and see you in the skies and the battlefields! The Sturmovik Team

As you all know MIG-21F had three guns only for air to air missions. MIG-21F-13 had just one. I searched the files, TK didn't bother to make two distinct models, his MIG-21F, in SF1 and SF2 looks identical with MIG-21F-13 and has just one gun and that forward antenna (MIG-21F had no antenna). Question: Is anyone of you who, for historical reasons, somehow build the other two guns into a MIG-21F model or improvised with some very thin models of gun to match them ? If so I'd be happy to have them. If not can they be done or made from something existent as material. I ask that because all the guns LODs available are big and one can't do much with them. I am open to suggestions, I really want a MIG-21F model with 3 guns one way or another.Thank you

Hi guys, just looking for some last minute advice before I hit the order button on this: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X GPU: nVidia GeForce MSI Ventus 3X OC RTX 3080 PSU: Kolink Continuum 850W RAM: 64GB Corsair DDR4 3000MHz C16 (2x 32GB) Cooler: MSI MAG CORELIQUID 240R Drive: Samsung 1TB 980 PCI-E 4.0 X4 NVMe (already have several external drives available if additional storage required) My thoughts/concerns at this point: For the CPU I gather there are better value options when looked at from a cost per core perspective, not sure though I'd be making a noticeable gain in MSFS (or DCS for that matter) by upgrading further? On cooling I'm debating whether to go with the 360R over the 240R - its going to be my first venture into liquid cooling, not so sure I's going to make much of a difference tbh. Planning to run MSFS and DCS on this build, likely very little else. Don't really plan on VR initially though I do want it to be an option down the road.
