11 pointsThis is a poll for community MOST WANTED aircraft. This time, as a sponsor I will let the wonderful CombatAce community to choose what aircraft will want to be built as a sign of my appreciation and respect for it. Please vote the plane you want from those three categories. Keep in mind that you may vote just ONCE in each category and that just ONE PLANE in the end and one plane only, which has the most votes, will be chosen and built. In case of a tie, I, as sponsor and project manager, will have the final word. The vote starts today and it will be close in two weeks, on February the 27, 12 PM CET. Make a wish ! ;)

4 pointsI have used the 'KnownAce[xx]' feature in the campaign data.ini to use the names and ranks of the actual pilots from the Operation: The Cuban FAR pilots who scored air-to-air victories in real life. The actual CO, XO and Ops Officer of VA-34. The CIA/ ANG pilots who flew for the Cuban Rebels.

3 pointsI am releasing this as a BETA for you guys to try out and give feed back on. You WILL need OTC for SF2 installed and you WILL need SF2NA as part of your base game installation. StrikeFighters2 BOP OTC addon BETA.7z TO INSTALL: Unpack the files and out into your 'StrikeFighters2 OTC' mods folder. You MUST overide when prompted!!! It will not affect the OTC campaigns and objects in anyway. The aim of this addon to fly as the A-4B Skyhawk in the air-to-air role as planned if Kennedy hadn't massively reduced the planned air support by the Navy at the last minute. But you can also fly in the ground support role as a Rebel/ CIA B-26B "During Bay of Pigs VA-34 A-4B Skyhaks from the USS Essex flew a CAP/ escort mission with the intention of protecting the Rebal A-26 Invaders but due to a timing cock up were an hour late and missed engaging the Cuban T-33A fighters. They also flew multiple reconnaissance flights over the invasion beach throughout the incident. Due to President Kennedy insisting that there be no proof of US involvement the Skyhawks had their USN markings painted over. This was one of the first VSF Skyhawk detachments and the A-4B could not carry the AIM-9 at this point so Skyhawks operating over Cuba just had two wing drop tanks plus thier 20mm cannons." Credit goes to eburger68 and the team who made OTC: Wrench for the T-33 WhiteBoySamurai for the long hull Essex I turned into the LPH-4 Timmy, Bobrock, Hgbn and Wrench for the A-26

3 pointsAnd how this is going to help? It is fun to have a wish list...but it is only fun. the cockpit will not make itself suddenly... Research time. This is not like you will google "xyz cockpit" and have ready everything. Manuals, hundreds of photos and you still will have a shitload of work. I think years ago someone asked about creating a research group - to take part of the workload from the modeler. Suppose it did not work out either. Maybe one day... as for now generally, 3d guys here are on their own... But believe me, research in this matter is hard. As I said - it is not about googling cockpit photos. the best thing about making a working cockpit is - that in the end after all this hard work you will feel rewarded. So...yes we need a cockpit for this and that..but whining about it...will not make it happen...

2 pointsI decided to rebuild Montevideo Airport from scratch. The first step is done. The two main runways and some taxiways are layed out. At the moment the airport consist of 41 single objects. Its like a big puzzle. So it looks today: Tomorrow more.

2 pointsjust a tip...you might not want to waste votes on tandem Jag or Mohawk...just saying...
-
2 pointsSorry guys mistakes in both the B-26B and C. Please them delete both completely and redownload the Beta for the fixed versions. If you just override the old ones without deleting you will still have problems.

1 pointFascinating thread on the most wanted new aircraft. Since I spend most of my time in the cockpit, I thought I'd steal the idea and talk about wanted cockpits. For instance, the B-2 has a place-holder in the form of the B-1B, so it would be nice to see a dedicated B-2 cockpit. I know the idea of an F-14D cockpit has also been thrown around and not yet stuck to the drawing board. I'm currently flying guuru's Tornado at the moment. It has a back seat! Wow, what a superb feature. So since the technology and know-how is there, wouldn't it be nice to have a back seat for the talking baggage in some other such tandem aircraft. F-14, F-4, Gloster Javelin for starters. And a side seat in the A-6, B-52, Vulcan etc. Another sadly-lacking feature is the drogue chute. We can emulate the effect of a drogue chute with the appropriate code in the datafile, but it would be nice to see the drogue chute showing in the mirrors. Could these not be retro-fitted? The SF2 F-117 has one, so someone knows how to do it.

1 pointAfter looking on my terrain and then on Google Earth i realized, that i placed Montevideo at the wrong position. So i had to move it. Near to horizon you see the city tile at the old position. In reality there is a town called Ciudad del Plata or so. Montevideo is around the bay, which is a natural harbour. Same position, but view to the south, the suburbs of Montevideo along the coastline and the Montevideo International Airport Short view of this airport. First steps, there is still a lot to do.

1 pointYes, that's how I do it. I go into the F-117 data file and steal the little section on drag chute, and put it into my chuteless aircraft. Then I take the name of the drag chute section, let's say [DragChute] and add it to the end of the system list in the tail section of the aircraft. You don't need a visible model. Most drag chute operations in SF2 are created as an extra airbrake with operation channelled by your normal airbrakes being out and your wheels on the ground. Back in SF1, I fitted one of these virtual airbrakes to an F-16, because that was what I was flying then. I tried removing the "wheels on ground" instruction to see what would happen. When I hit the airbrake the darn thing nearly fell out of the sky. That helped me adjust the efficiency of the drag chute.

1 pointCockpits need a lot of accurate informations and documents in order to be modeled.

1 pointAGM-88G AARGM_ER 3d work is almost done , it is not perfect but for the moment i think it is good enough may be in the future we will get some better pictures with more details

1 pointsooo, you stole my idea... Building a plane is child's play compared to a cockpit in TIME units. As I know all cockpit gurus here are busy for years with their cockpit projects. Conclusion: there are few to none available hands on the deck for such task here. Unless one of them owe you a big favor or you can pay them to let their work to do yours, forget about it. You could end the thread here. PS - after every two or three years you will notice that a new cockpit entered the download section and that only if the author is not changing his mind to share it.

1 pointWe can list needed cockpits and it will be long. But who will do these cockpits?
