5 pointsI would start negotiations with TK to see if he'd be willing to work on this type of project under contract or see how much specific fixes would cost and go from there. It's hard for developers to shelve projects and I'm sure it was equally so for TK.

2 pointsI'm not sure its a good idea because 1. money in a generally free group (hats off Erik on making the site work on donations!), either only contributors get access or they get mad at all the uses of what they paid for, 2. legality. best bet is first CombatAcer to win the lottery buys the rights to WoX/SF2 and secures a two year consulting contract with TK on whats going on with the code (a common daydream of mine that includes setting up an international company. hiring some tolerably qualified folks from here of course)

1 pointLet's start with drafting what we need; Whatever road is taken, this is something that WILL be needed, and it WILL be necessary to convince TK that we are serious about it. That we aren't even able to do the simplest step is not going to inspire confidence when trying to find devs or negotiating a licence with TK.

1 pointOr, draft a list of bugs we want fixed, the changes and new features we want implemented, ask TK for a quote on how much it would take to implement them, have the community finance the work, provide the testing and QA and let TK release it as a new patch. It's really the most realistic path forward, the one with the least moving parts, the shortest timeframe and the best chance of success. Just contract TK to fix/update his own work.

This package includes the Invincible class carrier, Type 42 Shefflield class destroyer, and Type 23 Duke class frigate updated to SF2:NA standards. These include updated weapon and data entries, ship names and numbers, collision meshes, radar frequencies, carrier decals and aircraft parking spots, and so on. Make sure to update your Harriers, RN helicopters, and other models with the relevant data if you want them to show up on the Invincible's deck. Enjoy! Julhelm's Container Ship for SF2 Model and Textures: Julhelm Effects and .ini work: Fubar512 This mod is designed and optimized for the SF2 series, and may not work properly in SF1. To install: Simply extract the contents of the 7z archive file into the mod (saved games) folder of the desired title. For example, using SF2NA, the default path would be "YOUR NAME/Saved Games/Thirdwire/StrikeFighters2NorthAtlantic" Note that model's running lights will be on all the time. This is currently due to the limitations of the series. To enable the included sounds, you must have access to the soundlist.ini, which can be extracted from the flightdata,cat file. It must then be placed into your game's flight folder, and the following edits should be made to it (note, if you have a custom soundlist.ini already, simply add the following lines in their appropriate numerical order. Don't forget to edit the XXX entries to match your existing sequence).
