    some shots hard not to think its real aircraft or full scale I mean...awesome flight and top video...we simmers need buy one and have airwars for real lol.. some of the hawk shots could be the real Arrows...superb

    Some tests under way...tweaking the FM for Geezer's Mk.I Gladiator, available for FE2, to work well in SF2...will include this eventually with my 1937 - 1941 FM pack. Doesn't hurt to have a biplane or two in that package. Top speed around 410 kph at around 4200 m alt in SF2, and a climb rate around 10 m/s or so, estimated, if you climb at a speed of about 200 to 220 kph. Not bad at all for a 1930s aircraft. Too bad I can't remove the cockpit canopy since it doesn't open/close anyway, and I think the model is lacking damage tga files, but no big deal - it's a fun aircraft and can hold its own against 1930s monoplane types (I'd say it's better than the early monoplanes).     We do this already. 1. Follow the content. Use the button shown to get updates on when the content is updated. Of course your notification preferences must be set under your profile to receive those notifications and if notification by email we have your proper email address on file. 2. The download section is sorted by default to most recently updated content on top. Scrolling to the SF2 download section would show you all the updates and uploads in recent times. 3. The activity button on the top menu. There you sort content on the site for most recently updated and you can also use that section for many other useful ways to parse the site. 4. We send you a notification of a file that you may be interested in just because you reviewed it or downloaded it sometime ago. All of the above are true statements except number 4. We don't send junk email or spam to anyone for any reason. Have fun out there! E

    Note: The LODViewer has a bug. If you reload textures while an animation is "shown" (like in the first post, where the gear is extended and the gear doors are open) then the decals are (erroneously) applied to the current (animated) position of the mesh and not the original one.

    AFAIU: If you want proper 44100Hz sounds, you have to change ALL (incl. stock sounds) to 44100 Hz.

    For those of us with too many RL or Real Life problems to manage, can you guys please boil this down to an executive summary to get to the proper 44100 Hz sounds for all jets? Thank you all for your hard work, especially @Menrva on this.

    Dear Pilots! It’s our great pleasure to officially announce that our next Collector Planes for the IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles series will be the – Yak-9, Yak-9T and the Hurricane Mk.II. Both of these aircraft, or I should probably say all three of these aircraft, were important designs that were workhorses of their day that made great contributions to the war effort on several fronts. These particular planes were chosen so we can offer an even more diverse and well-rounded plane-set that benefits primarily our Eastern Front products, which we still care deeply about and as of now, the majority of our customers own the most of. The Yak-9 came in many different flavors and it derived from the robust Yak-7b design. The Yak-9 was used over many important Eastern Front battles and was a very versatile and reliable airframe. It was the most produced Soviet fighter of the war. The famous Normandie Niemen pilots also used a variant of the Yak-9 in combat as did many successful front-line Soviet units. The Yak-9 was light and maneuverable at low altitudes and gave her pilots a real chance against the Bf-109 and Fw-190s of it’s day although it was less armed than its German adversaries. However, the Yak-9T came packing the NS37 37mm cannon in the nose which was a heavy hitter. A 37mm round can do some serious damage to not only enemy airplanes, but also vehicles and armor. Due to the bigger length of the 37mm cannon, the cockpit of the -9T had to be moved rearward about 400mm to accommodate it, slightly changing its lovely profile. The Yak-9 was an important aircraft for the Soviet Union and will make an excellent addition to the IL-2 Great Battles Series! The legendary Hurricane, which was built by Hawker, became famous in the west for winning the Battle of Britain and for the many sorties flown in the Mediterranean and North Africa theaters. However, it was also widely flown on the Eastern Front as a Lend-Lease product and saw much combat over the vast landscape of the Soviet Union. Hurricanes were one of the very first Lend Lease types to reach the Soviet Union and they were pressed into service right away as a stop-gap fighter as Soviet industry moved eastward to safer locations. It would eventually be joined or replaced by other Lend Lease designs like the Kittyhawk and Airacobra and newer Soviet designs, but the Hurricane soldiered on in many combat roles across several fronts including Stalingrad and Moscow. They were also heavily used on the Northern sectors to protect important warm water ports. Soviet ground crews also employed several weapon modifications which had a heavier punch than its original Browning machine guns. We hope to model most of these modifications. The Hurricane in Soviet service was a lengthy affair that deserves inclusion in IL-2 Great Battles. Without further delay, here are some very early Work-In-Progress renders of the Yak-9 and Hurricane in production. As is customary, Pre-Orders for these planes will commence in just a couple weeks and they will be ready for duty first half of next year. Remember, that by purchasing Collector Planes you allow us to continue to make important and interesting aircraft that we may not have been able to include in our main titles. The Sturmovik Team

    Wrench suggested the issue happens when using the SF2NA executable, which is exactly what I have used. Whichever the case, it's kind of weird. As for when converting to 44100 Hz via Audacity, I have not noticed any big loss of quality. Obviously, there is going to be a loss of quality if you convert from a higher frequency to a lower frequency (from 48000 Hz to 44100 Hz, or from 44100 Hz to 22050 Hz). Also, a 32 bit .wav is clearly better than a 16 bit one, but the game requires 16 bit .wav sound files.

    You might want to pin this thread, Kevin. Keep in mind what I said in the first post; the key is, you can use 44100 Hz 16 bit mono .wav sounds for your aircraft, if you use those 44100 Hz replacements for stock sounds from the linked mod; only then your other aircraft sounds will play as they are. Without those, they won't work correctly in stock SF2NA. The following stock .wav files need a 44100 Hz replacement; JetEngine, JetBurner, Gear, Flaps, Airbrakes, and even StallSound, TireTouch, Breathing and Windloop for certain aircraft add-ons. If you use the ones from Brennus' mod, your specific aircraft sounds defined in the aircraft's _data.ini will work. Stock sounds are meant to be generic, so everyone might want to use the ones from that mod, and you have an easy fix. Actually, I fear this same logic applies to custom gun, weapon, RWR and ground object sounds as well! Stock sounds should all be replaced with 44100 Hz ones to be extra sure. I recommend to use Audacity; you can easily re-save .wav files to 16 bit, at the desired frequency.

    So easy to make one tiny mistake and it can take hours to figure it out. I have spent hours trying to figure some mistakes out and in the end with some issues I had to give up.

    Would love to see terrain covering Vancouver Island, Metro Vancouver, Washington State and Portland Oregon :-). PLEASE! Would cover a RCAF base for forward deployed fighters & Aurora patrol planes (Comox), F-15s and formerly F-16s & F-4s out of Portland, McChord AFB C-17s and history going back to Century Series, EA-18Gs + EA-6Bs + A-6s + A-3s + WWII of NAS Whidbey History. Also some good bombin' in Central Whid-beeeeeeyyy of noise whiner agitators.

    Oh well, the revamped Alaska terrain I have released, which baffmeister is using in the screenshots, it seems, is the closest we have at the moment. I had an idea of making a Greenland terrain, but I have more complex terrains in the works. We'll see what the future brings.
