was: now: most of the dark blue parts are unchanged...(nozzles and wings were processed also) the rest (colorful) is tinkered...one way or another. And I am not even a big fan of F-22. Reason and motivation is behind one person - his dedication to the project is remarkable. It was a great pleasure to work with him on this. It was not just demands and requests - waiting for the final product. It was full cooperation in all aspects. If ever you need to work on something - go with Menrva.

As the existing aircraft wore out or rotted (Mosquito), new aircraft were sent from France. In this case "almost" new Spitfire Mk.IXs. When the crated Spitfire Mk. IXs arrived from France, replacing the worn out ex-IJAAF & IJN aircraft they were assembled somewhat piecemeal. "C" fuselages were given "E" wings and vice versa, and both models served with the same squadrons. Since the game engine does not allow for mixed aircraft units, C & E winged Spits will all be seperate. Each of the units rotated through French Indochina, and those dates are listed on the texture set ini, and the displayed name, as below: Spit9C: GC II/7 "Nice" (<3/46) GC I/7 "Provence" (<3/46) GC II/2 "Cigones" <7/46 GC I/4 "Dauphine" (<6/47) GC I/6 "Corse" (<4/50-51) Spit 9E GC II/4 "La Fayette" (<6/47) GC II/3 "Champagne" (<12/48) ----------------------------------------------------- Aircraft shown below are: GC II/2 Cigones GC II/4 Lafayette Next Up: Airacobras

AeroNavale upgrades! To replace the Dauntless' before they became completely unflyable, SB2C Helldivers were acquired (ok, bought). They were -5s, but the only major difference from the -4 we have is the lack of the full "blown one-piece" canopy for the pilot. Flying from the 3 carriers (Aerromanches, Bois Belleau and La Fayette) and sometimes land bases. Here we have Helldivers from Flotille 3 Flottille 9

As some of you may know, there is a mod in the works for the 1st Indochina War. I'm going to share some of the aircraft that will be in the mod, eventually Everything used herein is available here at CA, or are stock aircraft "adjusted" to fit. Nothing from anywhere else will be used or discussed. Unless someone want to build new ones... The terrain (VietnamSEA) is in heavy rework, as Menrva has scrapped off everything above the bedrock, and we are rebuilding it, litteraly, from the ground up. It will, however, remain the "stock" 63% size. Reminder: several of the aircraft will not be seen as they're "unavailable". To remedy this, stand in's or aircraft used by the units will have later versions implemented earlier (ie: C-47 for Toucan). Several aircraft used are VERY old, and do have several flaws (mesh bleeds with decals, shadow ropes, incorrect shapes, etc) Please try and hold your questions until all the images have been posted! DO NOT POST THEM WITHIN THIS SCREENSHOT THREAD -- THAT'S NOT WHAT THE SCREENSHOT FORUM IS FOR!!! POST THEM IN THE GENERAL DISCUSSION FORUM, IF NEEDED. This thread was created ONLY to show you all what will be available when this mod is finished. Thank you! --------- Early day, directly post-WW2, to 1947 GC I/7 Provence, Ki=43iiI GC II/7 Nice, ex=RAF 273 Squadron Spitire Mk.VIII (as there are no photos or other visual evidence, the aircraft remains in RAF SEAC camoflague GC I/6 Corse, Mosquito FB Mk.VI GT II/62 Franche-Comte C-47 Skytrain (Dakota)

As there is no readily or freely available P-63 Kingcobra*, a judgement call has to be made to use the existing P-39 Airacobra in it's place. Mind you, this does present a few problems; differences in weapons loads being the most major. Using the 39D as a base, I've modified it into the 39Q, which was used by the AdA in The Med and Southern Europe. These carry underwing 50 cal gunpods, but only the single centerline hardpoint for bombs or drop tanks. (as the map is only 63%, while problematic, isn't too big of an issue) They started arriving in 1948-ish, as the Spitfires were wearing out. They remained in service until 1951, when replaced by newer aircraft shipped from the USA. Just about all units are repsented: GC II/6 "Normandie-Niemen" GC I/5 "Vendee" GC III/5 "Roussillon" GC II/5 "Ile de France" GC II/9 "Auvergne" GC I/9 "Limousin" ================== Shown below are GC II/6 (you can tell NN by the red/white/blue spinner, same as their Yaks) GC II/9 (on the runway) GC II/5 (Aircraft "I". You'll notice the famous sandbar in the Red River, and the Paul Doumer bridge over the left wing tip) * of course, if someone wants to build one .... I'm available to help with skinning and FMs...

Of course, yakarov79 almost remodelled it completely with many additional details, including a reworked cockpit 3d model. Crusader improved the avionics, baffmeister created a realistic flight model. I coordinated the team, made tweaks here and there and improved effects, sounds, and of course skins! Here below a comparison between the nozzles of the current 3d model, and the ones of the old 3d model released in alpha stage by Heberth. Credits to yakarov79 for the 3d model, better textures by yakarov79 and yours truly. Old Nozzles New Nozzles

Sorry, guys. I have been dealing with RL issues lately. I have good news for the add-on, though. Since I had to postpone the release, I have asked for some more changes to the cockpit and aircraft 3d models. The new changes are well worth the wait IMHO. The release is going to happen (on February or March), I have worked too much on this add-on, as well as the other members of the development team did. Just wait a little longer.

Hi Guys, I am trying to do personal changes to the Falkland/Malvinas map by adding names to each of the ships inside Bomb Alley like Ardent and Antelope the two that were sunk inside Bomb Alley, I want to know if it's possible and to add an extra Type 21 Frigate inside San Carlos Water what will be Antelope, I want to do this for a more accurate and immersive presentation of the Falklands War and to create a few historical missions to share as I have a deep interest in the conflict as it was one the most important event of my country's history and because of the uniqueness of the war. So if it is possible to do so can you tell me how and to the map creater I would like to ask your permission to do so, so that I can improve it and give me a far more freedom to make missions and thank you for an excellent map UPDATE I found a another Type 21 model from the Falklands Frigate pack so I can use that along side the Type_21 folder as this one is named Type 21 so it won't cause conflict. I just need to find the postion inside San Carlos then edit the type.ini and the target.ini to enable the other model, but still want make multiple models of the same one to cover all the ships in the class

There's a fine Deperdussin Racer of 1913 that I remember seeing several years ago, in FlightGear - would be nice to import that one into FE2. Also the Santos-Dumont Demoiselle comes to mind too. Happy flying, Von S

Yes, as Wrench says, don't install to the default folder. I forgot that bit as I always install my flight sim games on my second hard drive by force of habit. Thanks, Wrench.

I agree with you that those tiles are too vibrant. The ones included in that expansion package are actually a repaint/mod of a tileset made by Brian32, which is way more subdued in its original form. The original tiles, which I prefer, should be available here: https://combatace.com/files/file/5300-vietnamsea-tile-repaint-v10/ Green Hell 2 is actually a complementary TOD improvement (trees and city buildings) for that tileset by Brian32, made by Stary and available here: https://combatace.com/files/file/7095-green-hell-2/ Green Hell 3, instead, is Stary's creation completely, both tiles and TODs.

Might want to add, do NOT install to the /ProgramFiles section. Do not install ANY 1stGen game to "usual place". That's a protected area of the HD (software wise), and you won't be able to to shit with modding inis or anything else. Same as in Win7 Do a custom install, by pointing the installer exe to the ROOT of the C drive (ie: C:/WingsOverEurope).

My SF1 in Windows 10 settings. 1. Install latest DX9. I'm not sure but I believe the latest DX9 driver is 'directx_Jun2010_redist.exe.' It can be found on the internet. 2. Install ENBseries. I use FalconC45's 'HDR Mod 1.01A' found here, 'https://combatace.com/files/category/747-environmental-mods/?page=2.' The HDR Mod 1.01A is for high end Nvidia graphics cards. There is also a mod for ATI/AMD graphics cards on that download page. 3. Install the game BUT NOT in the default installation folders. Put it in the C: root folder or on another drive. 4. Set SF1/WOX .exe file compatibility mode to: 1 - Check box for 'Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (Service Pack 3).' 2 - Check box for 'Run this program as an administrator.' Your compatibility mode might differ. You might need to experiment with different settings to find the right one for your computer. 5. I use '4gb_patch.exe.' I don't know if it makes much difference, but it doesn't stop the game from playing. It can be found about 10 files down here: https://ntcore.com/?page_id=345. 6. Because I also play my SF2 games on the same Windows 10 computer, and because I have an Nvidia graphics card, and because new Nvidia drivers seem to cause SF2 to go 'black' when graphics are set to 'Unlimited' when the mission starts, I still use an old set of drivers that allow me to set my graphics to 'Unlimited.' I use Nvidia drivers; 418.91-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql.exe. You might need to experiment with different graphics card drivers to find the right one for your computer. I don't know if this these graphics drivers make a difference with the SF1 games, but both SF1 and SF2 work for me on Windows 10 with these settings and adjustments. Remember computers differ, so my settings and adjustments might not work for your setup. Good luck. Geary

I did get SF2 Vietnam Air & Ground War Expansion working - I had to reinstall it and then the EXE worked fine with vorpX. Now I'll go on to Phase II - taking a look at the aircraft cockpit INI files to see how to most improve the view and seat position while in VR. I'm not familiar with all of that stuff, but I do see values that look like they may free up the ability to look all around as opposed to being constrained to certain degrees left, right, up and down. I'm I correct that the SF2 cockpits are not 6DOF (I won't be able to lean forward and back or tilt my head - just left/right up/down right?)... Here's an update on the project. I have been dealing with an issue about GPS-guided EOGB not working on racks, and initially I had resorted to use GPS-guided EOGR, so the bomb would actually be a an air-to-ground missile. However, that makes the AI crazy sometimes (flying towards the ground and crash). Not only that, there's a severe lack of avionics for all GPS-guided weapons in SF2; you never get a cue of a lock on the target. In the end, I may have found the best workaround for all the GPS bombs, making use of some info from this very old thread: https://combatace.com/forums/topic/18331-bru-help/?tab=comments#comment-73751 Basically, all GPS-guided bombs should be changed to LGB. There is no need of a targeting pod, and the bomb works pretty much as a GPS one; in fact, on Strike missions (aircraft only using GPS bombs should be limited to Strike missions, no Armed Recon nor SEAD) you're assigned a primary target. The bomb will only lock on that target. If that primary target gets destroyed by you or the AI, you cannot drop the remaining bombs anymore. This reflects what a GPS bomb is all about, even though in the weapon files it is defined as a LGB. For the F-22A Raptor, target coordinates are preset before a mission, so the GPS-guided bomb only works for that preset target. When that is gone, you do not have data for locking on targets of opportunity. Moreover, this change from GPS EOGB to LGB brings working avionics, so it's totally for the better. Some more testing is needed, but it seems to work just fine. A few more updates must be finalized, including an important overhaul of the aircraft's fuel cells. The package's release will most likely slide to 2020; I want to ensure that the final product is as bug free as possible, so it will be worth the wait.

I wonder if it's possible to import planes from FlightGear. There are some very interesting subjects there like Ar 234B with cockpit among others. Could it be?
