7 pointsThere is one way that I know of if you want a second sortie without ending the mission. Go to your Controls folder. There should be an .ini file in there that lists all the key controls, such as "Default.ini". Open that up, and look for the [ControlSet001] column. At the end, paste in the following: REARM_WEAPONS=ALT+W RELOAD_GUN=ALT+G UNJAM_GUN=ALT+J After you land, press Alt+W and then Alt+G to re-arm your weapons and replenish gun ammo. Taxi back around and take off. (You can change the key presses to anything else you want, of course.) Thanks to WhiteBoySamurai for his post and the CA community.

6 pointsWith the fall of mainland China to the Communists, the US government woke up to the threat of their expansion in Asia (and soon to be engaged with them on the Korean peninsula) As an interim measure, F6F Hellcats were delivered to the AdA for use in Indochina from land bases (note: Flotille 1 also had them, but no records exist of them being deployed to FIC) Only a few units seemed to have used the Hellcat, GC II/6 "Normandie-Niemen" GC I/9 "Limousin" GC II/9 "Auvergne" GC I/6 "Corse" (the last to trade in their Spitfires in 1951, having never used the Kingcobra) --------------------------------- shown below: GC I/9 GC II/9 GC I/6 bonus image: Hellcat departing Gia Lam Airport

5 pointsYeah man. We've been discussing this topic for years... people have tried, tired, and tried again. One person was able to rig something back in the WOE days. With rearming, refueling, and all that. I think the files got lost over time or something. Yeah we've tried a lot of things with the SF series. Some even developed a bomb sight for heavies ... and I can still hear Wrench say "leave the bombing to the AI" :) DCS is on top of things that's for sure. However SF series will always have a special place in my heart. I don't care how bad the graphics are or how limited the engine is. SF series is still a good series.

5 pointsMore American aid allowed for actual bomber aircraft to be deployed. In 1951, the A-26 Invader (renamed to B-26) began arriving and being used. (Please note, as has been discussed elsewhere on CA, these lods have been hex edited to use jpg textures; no more problems with DDS files. At some point in time, maybe I'll do the same for the KAW versions.) As is usual, the bomber squadrons used a mix of B (gun nosed) and C (glass nosed) versions with themselves. As has been stated above, and many times across the years, they can't be mixed. So, the 2 squadrons are split between the models: GB I/19 "Gascogne" gets the A-26B GB I/25 "Tunisie" gets the A-26C below, you have their portraits If anyone has any information about a third A-26 unit (mentions of one have been encountered in my researches), please pass that along via PM

3 pointsMonty's C-119 also appears, from "Detachment 119" as loaned from the USAF. With thanks to Joe Bauer's site, I was able to run down 18 100% historical serial numbers. Don't know how the player will actually be using them (along with the C-47), but I figured 18 was good number. Raven's Fi-156 Storch, in it's MS-500 Criquet form also appears for eye candy and recon/laison duties. Pity FAC was removed from the game...(skins also by Paulo)
-
3 pointsAeronavale Corsairs have been around for a while. The skins used here are from Paulopanz's excellent French Corsair package. You'll have the F4U-7 and AU-1. AU-1 from Flotille 14 F4U-7s from Flotilles 12 & 14 There are several skins for each (including some into the 1960s, used possibly in Algeria? I removed the Operation Musketeer -Suez- skins from the Vietnam48 mod folder)

3 pointsI know you've all been waiting for these, the Bearcats. Now, please do remember, while the aircraft has all the correct shaping, there are some issuse. First and foremost is the large shadow rope/tractor beams from somewhere in the main gear wells. I've tried to mitigate it by shortening the distance (as much as I can) that the shadow is cast. But ... well, y'all know how that goes. Also, there's no folding wings. That's not a real issue for land based planes, but still...(well, after all the aircraft was released in 2006 so...we should be thankful the canopy opens and closes!!) So, we have the following units represented: I/8 "Saintonge" I/21 "Artois" GC II/9 "Auvergne" GC I/9 "Limousin" GC II/8 "Languedoc" GC I/6 "Corse" GC III/6 "Roussillon" ======= Shown below: GC I/6 GC I/21 GC II/8 GC III/6

3 pointsSince I don't do real world skins that often... I hope you like these ones. I saw them searching for something else and thought that I must do them. Possible that somebody created them already. F-4K Phantom FG.1, 43rd Squadron RAF, 70 Years Anniversary skin without Spinestripe... ...and with it

2 pointsDoes it really matter what an individual wants to do with their game [ keywords being THEIR and GAME ] be it realistic or not ? The game offers the option to start in the air ....how realistic is that? They are not cheats, they are just another way of using what TK made available........hell we even have moon and mars stuff being worked on.....how "realistic" is that ? Like Wrench, I've been with the SF series since day one and seen sooooooo many cheats/workarounds call them what you like, but they are what keep folks interested in SF, it's the whole idea of being mod-able......letting the end user enjoy the game as they want to. Just my opinion...
-
2 pointsenemies cannot launch from friendly airfields, and vice versa. the game is divided into the red and blue sides. you'd have to start on 2 different airfields, and fly towards an "engagement zone".
-
2 pointsYes, it's possible. Have a look at my menu mod, as it includes additional files for such changes: https://combatace.com/files/file/16900-strike-fighters-wings-over-world-menu-screens/ I have removed cones (but you can re-add them back, just tweak the huddata.ini file). I have also made other changes, among which the waypoint indicator is now yellow (no longer white). It's all tweaked to my personal preferences, so feel free to edit what you do not like.

2 pointsYou may have to use the mods here to solve your aircraft needs. Back in the day Column5 had massive packs of aircraft available to use ... I mean huge amounts of aircraft. The mod developers here and the mod developing teams are amazing people that have spent considerable (and I do mean considerable) amounts of time, effort, and money into providing these models. It's the modding community that keeps SF2 alive. SF2 is straight up fun too. Like you said DCS costs a lot and honestly DCS and SF2 are worth it if you like flight sims. I have DCS A-10, and UH-1 while it's bit of a shock to hop into SF2 it's nice that I don't have fight physics as much and too a lot of technical things when I'm just wanting to chill out and do a little dog fighting or strike runs. Or check out the A-6 mods here if you like

2 pointsBattle of Britan 2 "Operation Seelöwe" terrain. Recon mission. Target London. South of Canterbury heading north west. We are closing the estuary of river Themse. Flak fire and intercepted by Spitfires over London City. (Temporary tiles for the London parks) Escaped the Spits near Tower Bridge. Successfully escaped and now running home.

1 pointAs some of you may know, there is a mod in the works for the 1st Indochina War. I'm going to share some of the aircraft that will be in the mod, eventually Everything used herein is available here at CA, or are stock aircraft "adjusted" to fit. Nothing from anywhere else will be used or discussed. Unless someone want to build new ones... The terrain (VietnamSEA) is in heavy rework, as Menrva has scrapped off everything above the bedrock, and we are rebuilding it, litteraly, from the ground up. It will, however, remain the "stock" 63% size. Reminder: several of the aircraft will not be seen as they're "unavailable". To remedy this, stand in's or aircraft used by the units will have later versions implemented earlier (ie: C-47 for Toucan). Several aircraft used are VERY old, and do have several flaws (mesh bleeds with decals, shadow ropes, incorrect shapes, etc) Please try and hold your questions until all the images have been posted! DO NOT POST THEM WITHIN THIS SCREENSHOT THREAD -- THAT'S NOT WHAT THE SCREENSHOT FORUM IS FOR!!! POST THEM IN THE GENERAL DISCUSSION FORUM, IF NEEDED. This thread was created ONLY to show you all what will be available when this mod is finished. Thank you! --------- Early day, directly post-WW2, to 1947 GC I/7 Provence, Ki=43iiI GC II/7 Nice, ex=RAF 273 Squadron Spitire Mk.VIII (as there are no photos or other visual evidence, the aircraft remains in RAF SEAC camoflague GC I/6 Corse, Mosquito FB Mk.VI GT II/62 Franche-Comte C-47 Skytrain (Dakota)

1 pointI do not fathom sometimes. At one point some want sim to be realistic and that is ok but then rearm on the ground and take off, fly, fight, bomb, missiles, and cherry napalm again... this is realistic? Not able to rearm on the ground and take off again is possibly the most realistic feature of SF2 series. Unless rearming and refueling will take a real deal amount of time etc. etc...then perhaps you could fly again. But I guess targets are not there where left before 'rearming' anymore... Sorry but hitting the deck, pressing rearm and going to catapult again...noooo this is ridiculous.

1 pointWow, I didn't expect such kind words... And I feel like I have bothered you with a few requests of changes from time to time, LOL! Without your offer and determination to help (I was simply asking about adding missing rail launchers and pylons at the time), we wouldn't have this much detailed 3d model. Likewise, it was a fantastic cooperation! Without your great support (and Crusader's and baffmeister's) I wouldn't have accomplished this project; you guys have provided me with your expertise (modelling, FM, avionics) and raised the quality bar of it

1 pointwas: now: most of the dark blue parts are unchanged...(nozzles and wings were processed also) the rest (colorful) is tinkered...one way or another. And I am not even a big fan of F-22. Reason and motivation is behind one person - his dedication to the project is remarkable. It was a great pleasure to work with him on this. It was not just demands and requests - waiting for the final product. It was full cooperation in all aspects. If ever you need to work on something - go with Menrva.

1 pointAs there is no readily or freely available P-63 Kingcobra*, a judgement call has to be made to use the existing P-39 Airacobra in it's place. Mind you, this does present a few problems; differences in weapons loads being the most major. Using the 39D as a base, I've modified it into the 39Q, which was used by the AdA in The Med and Southern Europe. These carry underwing 50 cal gunpods, but only the single centerline hardpoint for bombs or drop tanks. (as the map is only 63%, while problematic, isn't too big of an issue) They started arriving in 1948-ish, as the Spitfires were wearing out. They remained in service until 1951, when replaced by newer aircraft shipped from the USA. Just about all units are repsented: GC II/6 "Normandie-Niemen" GC I/5 "Vendee" GC III/5 "Roussillon" GC II/5 "Ile de France" GC II/9 "Auvergne" GC I/9 "Limousin" ================== Shown below are GC II/6 (you can tell NN by the red/white/blue spinner, same as their Yaks) GC II/9 (on the runway) GC II/5 (Aircraft "I". You'll notice the famous sandbar in the Red River, and the Paul Doumer bridge over the left wing tip) * of course, if someone wants to build one .... I'm available to help with skinning and FMs...

1 pointAs the existing aircraft wore out or rotted (Mosquito), new aircraft were sent from France. In this case "almost" new Spitfire Mk.IXs. When the crated Spitfire Mk. IXs arrived from France, replacing the worn out ex-IJAAF & IJN aircraft they were assembled somewhat piecemeal. "C" fuselages were given "E" wings and vice versa, and both models served with the same squadrons. Since the game engine does not allow for mixed aircraft units, C & E winged Spits will all be seperate. Each of the units rotated through French Indochina, and those dates are listed on the texture set ini, and the displayed name, as below: Spit9C: GC II/7 "Nice" (<3/46) GC I/7 "Provence" (<3/46) GC II/2 "Cigones" <7/46 GC I/4 "Dauphine" (<6/47) GC I/6 "Corse" (<4/50-51) Spit 9E GC II/4 "La Fayette" (<6/47) GC II/3 "Champagne" (<12/48) ----------------------------------------------------- Aircraft shown below are: GC II/2 Cigones GC II/4 Lafayette Next Up: Airacobras

1 pointSo I bit the bullet and did a total reinstall of SF2 Air & Ground War Expansion Pack + updates + Green Hell 3.5 + Green Hell Enhancements.. Wow..what a package! Green Hell 3.5 looks fantastic (Stary is THE MAN!) - more subdued colors and just awesome. With the newly updated package, the SF2 Vietnam executable is working with vorpX and it is awesome! I'll get some through the lens pictures tomorrow..but I did record a bit of my 2D monitor while flying in VR...

1 pointWill post screens of other wips asap... now this Jetranger 206 was a freeware model adapted by me... What I did was add details taken from another model.....by taken I mean new meshes meade by me ...NOT used anyone elses meshes. Heres a question... 1,If I import a model...and actually make exact copy of meshes...by copy I mean...each part I need I make from scratch, using the mesh from the model as a template...then I delete the original model and meshes and use the newly created meshes in my now new model...is this legit or piracy?.... I think its morally ok to release my "Clone" model......as a new freeware model....(hence why not released this yet) plus needs a data.ini I requested from YAP guys opinions please4 from moderators ONLY please. 1 model I have...I asked the FSX creator if it was ok and he said,"Well as its your created meshes,no problem here " so PS...any model Not 100% by me will be labeled as such.... Only models NOT made by me and are freeware are.... 1, Pak Fa T-50 (creator donated.) 2,B66 3,P47 C,D 4, hind. 5,Mig25 ALL others on list ARE solely my creations.... The Jetranger took ages to get to this finish..(what if RAF version) .I literally had to weld EVRY mesh....relocate them and link etc...some parts are TOTAL rebuild....took me a week of a few hours every evening to fix just body, tail, rotors and doors...so you can see it takes ages to complete models that arent created by us moders here, freeware stuff is usually 3ds or an .OBJ file which need a lot of fixing.
