A new historical skin and decals for F-4C_67 Phantom II. Based on Sundowner great template slightly modified removing and/or deleting some markings and stencils and adding some more weathering here and there. Also I changed the colors of the belly aux doors and the area of the BLC . Started as a tribute to my friend (then) Capt. Gene Korotky, flying with the Squadron during his tour of duty in 1968-69. My original idea was to realize only SANDY BAY-BEE,the plane assigned to Capt. Korotky, and in some way I involved Paulopanz to help me with the decals; but the skill of Paulopanz are so high and Gene sent me so much pics and first hand refs that we decided to create a whole mod ... CREDITS AND THANKS: - Sundowner for is great work on the original template - Paulopanz that create almost all the decals and improved those created by me and had the patience and will to teach me many things! - Capt. Gene Korotky for all the references ABOUT CREW NAMES: We tried to add as more historically correct pilots names as possible, but it must be noted that crew names on the aircraft changed since the tours in Vietnam were for one year, meaning a constant changeover of personnel. WHAT INSIDE: The mod include a new skin and decals, a background file writed by Gene with info about the 12th TFW of which the 557th TFS was part and pics of the Squadron at the time of his 1968-69 tour of duty taken by Gene Korotky TO INSTALL: - As always all in main mod folder and that's all! 3 pointsMe too, but the 3d modeller in the team is busy with RL at the moment. The aircraft is pretty much done. However, the cockpit's 3d model requires additional work after some details I discovered about the real one. It will be completed, that I can assure you. We put so much effort in it, it would be a waste not to complete it.

2 pointsNo guessing here, both the AIM9 and the AA8 are launched directly from the rail, they do not fall and then ignite.

2 pointsWell this is your weekly update. First, a good chunk of my weekend was spent putting this together: Second, finishing up the screens & sounds today/Sunday. Will slide some of the above in. Below are some new screens: Loading Screen Options Screen Mission Editor Screen (Because I had to get somehow a F-35 in!) Titles Screen (Hope this gets rid of the SF2 traditional intro screen!) Third, there is a surprise I want to keep from you as long as possible. But let's just say you can expect a new Russian jet in the game...

DOGFIGHTS Soundtrack Converted to WAV by JosefK Although this is my conversion, all the credit really should go to FranK11 on YouTube who put both volumes of the two "Dogfights" episodic series soundtrack there plus YouTuber Mobius 176 who placed "Dogfights History Channel Soundtrack Deadly Skies Main Theme" on YouTube also. I just downloaded the clips and converted to MP3, then WAV. If the WAV is insufficient, I have the MP3s. Of course, you're going to have to rename the files to which background music you want in SF2. That's up to you, but some pointers from recent experience & going over Viper63's awesome work: 1) You will want to put a WAV in the Flight folder to call "Loading.wav" and a screen called "LoadingScreen.jpg" 2) You will want to rename these files to the names below and park in the Menu folder: *BaseScreen.wav *CampaignScreen.wav *CreditsScreen.wav *DebriefFail.wav *DebriefKilled.wav *DebriefSuccess.wav *HangarScreen.wav *LoadoutScreen.wav *MainScreen.wav *OptionsScreen.wav *RecordScreen.wav *SingleMissionScreen.wav You also should create many JPGs for the menu folder like at the least: *CampaignScreen.jpg *CreditsScreen.jpg *DebriefScreen.jpg *DefaultBaseScreen.jog *DefaultEndScreen.jpg *LoadoutScreen.jpg *MainScreen.jpg *MissionEditor.jpg *OptionsScreen.jpg *PilotRecordScreen.jpg *PlanningMapScreen.jpg *RosterScreen.jpg *SingleMissionScreen.jpg *Titles.jpg There you go. Probably more information than you wanted, but information you need in modding menus for SF2. -
1 pointleave your damned weapon editor apart and dont use it for SF2 EjectVelocity=0.0,0.0,-2.0 in Data ini at weapons stations which you need

1 pointAIM-9 missiles are carried on a missile rail , on launch the rocket motor ignite and the missile is guided on the missile rail , there is no free falling the same for the russian counterparts

1 pointIt has not. I'm on the latest patch level, I have custom InitScreen bitmaps working. Aren't they the same?! You have to put the bitmap in the installation folder. SF2 titles merge into the same Strike Fighters 2 folder. I am not talking about mod folders. You have to leave those alone. You must ensure that you run the StrikeFighters2 Nihon Hitori 2020.exe (same name as the .ini).

1 pointYou have to put the bitmap inside the Menu folder of the installed game. Not in the mod's folder as usual.

1 pointStuff like landing gears I usually find vids of real plane if possible....to see how they work..or if not looking at pics of them helps you see where they fold...rotate, or are "pulled up" by pistons etc... Flaps...depends on ac\ how the fold......some hinge top some bottom, some extend out the rotate down... basic way is to set pivot to bottom edge...looking from front....then in local view adjust the pivot so its"level " with the edge...so when its animated.....it looks even.... animating is easy...in local view rotate down to proper angle, use the transform type tool in the edit toolbar to rotate the flap as the tool gives you degrees moved. when rotated to proper place...uncheck animation, and move the animated segments to 1 and 10..in anim timeline.....or 11-20 etc....so flap is closed when the timeline is at 0.. basically same for ailerons, rudders etc, except not animated...rudder is obviously collision points...set them so the mesh is in and invisible box...like so in pics. i name the points like wingcol01 wingcol02 ...as the 3rdwire exporter as you know exports points.

Default skin for SDAD VII's family in-game integrated models. I tried to add some "photorealistic" textures for more impressive image of this aircraft. Add to SPAD7_150, SPAD7_180, SPAD7_LG : [TextureSetXXX] Name=French_PhR Nation=FRANCE Squadron=3ESC Specular=0.800000 Glossiness=0.800000 Reflection=0.500000 StartDefaultDate=1916 Eugene -
1 pointI wish.. ..unfortunately only a small fraction of that time was spent on the model; the remainder of the time was taken up by my trying to survive this10-year long financial crisis!! Fret not; once I've finished the Mk7 and Mk10 ejection seats required by some of the Greek F-5a(s), it will be released! Regards, Sophocles

1 pointNew updates on recent progress. First of all, apologies to keep you guys waiting. Unfortunately, RL is a toll for everyone. The add-on will be ready when it's ready. From time to time new things that need improvement are found, but we're almost there. @yakarov79 has been instrumental in making the new cockpit 3d model; me and him have constantly worked together to bring you a nicer, more realistic Raptor cockpit; by realistic, I mean that MFDs have got a new layout to better resemble what the real Raptor's cockpit has got, within SF2 engine limitations of course. Julhelm has been very kind to allow yakarov79 to improve upon his previous 3d model. Here below a few comparison shots: Old cockpit 3d model by Julhelm, avionics by Crusader New cockpit 3d model by yakarov79, textures by yakarov79 and yours truly; avionics update by Crusader, reworked by yours truly. Since the package will keep you waiting some more, I added new extras to it; the skin pack will feature the below skin, directly inspired by Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War. Such a Raptor skin was part of a DLC of Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation.

1 pointI assure you that this model is not pirated, but it will not see light so soon and the model was created a few weeks after the flight of the real prototype.

1 pointAre you talking about the menu buttons, or the actual icon (like for shortcuts) themselves?? Or the startup splash screen (which CAN be changed -disremember how, however) for icons, there should be some in the 1stGen downloads someplace ... I made a bunch of them. of course, to be really RUDE, you can use this... http://combatace.com/gallery/image/27608-no-3w-support/ yes, I'm in a very bad mood/place this afternoon... (and of course, the fucking image isn't linking. anything else gonna go right??

McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of the stock F-4E to give a Dhimari F-4E Phantom with markings for; No.1 Squadron - 'The Panthers' No.2 Squadron - 'The Hawks' As this mod uses the early 'short cannon' F-4E I have restricted the service dates to 1968 to 1973 inclusive. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-4E_Dh folder into your Decals folder. That's it! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim.
