Hawaii, Central Pacific (1959-2028) Terrain December 13th, 2020 (1st Release) by Menrva >For Strike Fighters 2: Vietnam, Recommended Full-5 Merged This is a complete remake of the Hawaii terrain. Unlike the original one released by Wrench, which is not in full Real World scale, this new terrain was made and tiled from scratch, and it features all the main Hawaiian islands in full scale, with more cities and pretty accurate elevation details. A better looking and more complete tileset has been added. Numerous target areas, such as small civilian airports, have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range. This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look. The terrain spans from August 21, 1959 (when Hawaii officially became the 50th American State) to December 31, 2028; it is designed for fictional clashes between Red forces (namely Russia and China) and all of the American services (USAF, USN and USMC). The island of Kauai is added to Red Side for better gameplay; imagine it as the first step of a hostile invasion of Hawaii. All mission types are available, including CAS and Armed Recon. Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, some airfields will appear only after a certain year, according to historic changes. If you have SF2NA, naval fleets will spawn in the Pacific Ocean. Also, Off Map Airbases have been added and long range AI flights can be generated from them. All main targets have been placed accurately in their Real World locations. Ground Objects are not included. You can obtain the most needed from Wrench's original Hawaii terrain release. >Credits (in no particular order): -Wrench, for his permission to use his target areas from the original, smaller scale Hawaii terrain. -swambast, who provided me with invaluable help in tracking and fixing common and uncommon bugs, and for allowing me to include his exclusive Pearl Harbor Memorial 3d model (which you cannot redistribute). -gerwin, whose TFDtool has proved to be essential in today's terrain making. If the terrain is pretty accurate to RL it's also because of him. I included his very nice Airfield 7+8 Addon Pack, too. -mue, for the improved shaders he made, which I have included and reworked for the terrain, and for the tools he made for SF2 modding. -luk1978, for the waternormal bitmap he shared at the SF2 screenshots thread. Your mods are very interesting! -JSF_Aggie, for his great Hi-Res Runway Textures v2.0 which I included. -Stary, for the hi-res Okinawa tileset he made, which I have reworked and expanded. -Gepard, for his great tutorials about terrain making, in the SF1 Knowledge Base at CombatACE. It's a gold mine! -krfrge, who has produced a tutorial for recreating SF2-like planning maps, which prompted me to work on templates and my own high quality planning maps. Thank you very much! -comrpnt, for his Approach and Airfield Lighting Pack mod packages for SF1 series, which I reworked and included. Because this terrain re-uses some of the original target area layouts by Wrench from his previously released Hawaii terrain, I included the ReadMe files from his original package, to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not. >Disclaimer: This is a freeware; yet it can be redistributed ONLY in other CombatACE mods/mod packages. Any changes to the terrain package's files and/or any copy-and-paste attempts of their contents are NOT authorized if you plan to release them in other mods. But permission might be granted to those who request it to me at CombatACE. This terrain may NOT in any way, shape or form be used in any payware additions.

Myasishchev M-12 - Protivo Vozdushnaya Oborona Strany, 1971 During early 1959 Soviet intelligence reported back to the Kremlin disturbing news on the rapid progress of two of the United States top aerospace programmes, the B-70 and the A-12 (forerunner of the SR-71) followed by news that proposals were being made for a follow-on interceptor based on the A-12. Faced with two Mach 3 aircraft penetrating Soviet air defences (and a Mach 3 interceptor defending the USA) the Soviet Air Force secretly announced two urgent counter programmes. One was for a new interceptor allocated to the Mikoyan Design Bureau (which would eventually see service as the MiG-25 'Foxbat') whilst the other was for a clandestine copy of the proposed A-12 allocated to the Myasishchev Design Bureau and to be made in both interceptor and reconnaissance versions. The Myasishchev M-12 project started in late 1960 and is believed to have been helped by a Soviet sleeper cell working within 'Project Archangel' and although this was refuted by both the CIA and Lockheed the heavily reported 'cyanide suicides' of two separate Burbank couples on the night of April 25th, 1963 is believed to have linked to the uncovering of a Soviet sleeper cell. What is undeniable, however, was the fast progress of this urgent Soviet programme which saw the prototype M-12 first fly in February 1964 barely a year after the first flight of the A-12 and apart from the flying start given by clandestine means Myasishchev were also assisted by Tumansky's work on the R-15-300 engine originally designed for the Tupolev Tu-123 Yastreb drone and later modified for the use in the Ye-155 (MiG-25). Tumansky quickly scaled-up the R-15-300 to produce the R-25-500 'Saturn' engine two of which powered the M-12. It is alleged that the scarcity of titanium alloy in the Soviet Union at that time meant that there was only enough titanium for the M-12 and that Mikoyan were forced to use stainless steel in their contemporary MiG-25. The aircraft was officially revealed during the 1967 Domodedovo air show but unlike the Ye-155 the aircraft did not appear in the static park but made a medium altitude pass with the aircraft being announced as a reconnaisance aircraft. Entering service in 1971 the aircraft acquired the NATO codename 'Fastfox' but the M-12 was kept heavily under wraps and is believed to have passed out of service by 1976.

Iraq, Western Asia (2003-2018) Terrain August 13th, 2017 (1st Release) by Menrva >For Strike Fighters 2, Recommended Full-5 Merged This is a complete remake of the IR2003 terrain released long time ago by Wrench. The entire map has been retargetized and retiled using a whole new tileset, combining tiles from JSF_Aggie, Stary, Centurion-1 and my bad transition tiles. All major water bodies, lakes and some minor rivers have been hand-tiled. The Caspian Sea coast had to be hand-tiled as well. Numerous target areas have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range. This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look. The terrain spans from May 2, 2003 (the day following the end of major combat operations of Operation Iraqi Freedom) to December 31, 2018; it is designed for fictional clashes between US-backed Iraq and Iran. It's the perfect playground for the fictive Operation Darius scenario created by the CombatACE community. Iran is Enemy, Iraq is Friendly, other countries are Friendly as well. Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, certain Iraqi airbases will be abandoned by 2004 or by other dates (some airports were converted to simple U.S. Army FOBs), etc. Some airfields won't be available after a certain date and/or will change name according to historic changes. All main targets are in their Real World locations (I tried to be as accurate as possible, to such a level that even surpasses ThirdWire's stock terrains). Shiraz Int'l Airport and Prince Sultan Airbase are beyond the Wall. However, if you have SF2NA, long range AI flights can be generated from such airbases. Ground Objects are not included. You can obtain most of them from Wrench's original Iran-Iraq terrains, or from other mod packages. >Credits (in no particular order): -Wrench, who reworked the original terrain and provided the CombatACE community with plenty of mods and scenarios to play with. He gave me invaluable advise, the tools I needed and introduced me to the beautiful, exhausting world of terrain modding/making. Thank you, sir! -swambast, who offered to build two high quality 3D models (Mosul Dam and Mosul Grand Mosque), featured for the first time in this terrain, it's an honor! He also provided major help in tracking and fixing common and uncommon bugs. If the terrain is stable (no CTDs), it's his merit! -Nyghtfall, for creating 3d models of the Kuwait Water Towers and Kuwait Freedom Towers. -tiopilotos, for providing reworked .tga tiles with new alpha channels. Much appreciated! -Spudknocker, who helped me complete the 1980-2003 beta version of the terrain, providing additional target areas. -gerwin, whose TFDtool has proved to be essential in today's terrain making. If the terrain is pretty accurate to RL it's also because of him. I included his very nice Airfield 7+8 Addon Pack, too. -MigBuster, I have included some of his great hi-res textures for runways. -mue, for the improved shaders he made, which I have included and reworked for the terrain, and for the tools he made for SF2 modding. -luk1978, for the waternormal bitmap he shared at the SF2 screenshots thread. Your mods are very interesting! -Crusader, who provided me with the info I needed about ODS and other stuff related to targets. -JSF_Aggie, for his high quality DS tileset, which I have expanded with my horrible transition tiles. -7eleven, who directed me to a website filled with Desert Storm related info. -Centurion-1, since I used some tiles from his Desert 4 Mountain Regions+ Addon. I tried to contact you for permission, but it seems RL got in your way. Your WIP mod about the Iran/Iraq war gave me the motivation to complete this terrain. The least I can say is thank you. Best of luck, mate! -Stary, because his tilesets are pure art. I borrowed a few TODs and tiles from his excellent IsraelME tileset. -Gepard, for his great tutorials about terrain making, in the SF1 Knowledge Base at CombatACE. It's a gold mine! -Stratos, who supported me support during the terrain's development. I am totally sure I missed someone, especially because the terrain was born from Wrench's original ones. So I also included Wrench's original readme files from his IR and IR2003 terrains to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not.

The idea is that he will release the additional terrains/campaigns/aircraft as DLC afterwards; those who own the Complete Edition will get all for free. But, I totally agree with what you say. He could have handled this in a much better way, I think.
  21. 1 point
Although im glad he's placing the complete edition again TK seems like he's either have no idea how to make proffit or he's an ass. Why constantly put and pull down the complete edition? Is it just so that people are forced to pay for buying the rest in parts? Why not just charge for the complete edition almost the same as each individual thing then placing a discount from 400 to 100 USD instead? anyone that wants and can afford to get the game will be forced to either way for another complete edition sell or to just buy each individual game and DLC separately. Not to mention for how he wants to sell the game in his own store, the website barely runs and has a ton of dead links. And am i the only one that thinks the windows 10 version is kind of vaporware? For all we know its just pulling heartstrings to get people to spend money and he doesn't actually work on it, after all its been i think years to get a game he already made compatible with a new OS. And even if he is working on it, based on the store page it seems it would be just the base game for windows 10, not the other DLC.

Other aviation services are known to exist in Strangereal, such as the Rectan Air Force, FATO Air Force and Valka Royal Air Force. However, there are no infos concerning such countries with no established flag and culture at the moment. Those are not included in the mod for the time being. This mod removes the Real World aviation services included in Strike Fighters 2, as such it is not compatible with any mod out of the box. Modders and users are advised to tweak _userlist.ini files and _data.ini files for aircraft and ground objects, to make use of the new services added by this mod. >Credits (in no particular order): -nuni, for his suggestions and other Ace Combat themed mods. -Astore, for his support and for being one of the few Italian Ace Combat fans like me. -RythusOmega, for providing all Ace Combat 7 emblems, reworked for use in this mod. -SuperOstrich, for providing hi-res remakes of the roundel of Nordennavic. -mue, for sharing info about the functionality of the alias.lst file. >Disclaimer: This is a freeware; yet it can be redistributed ONLY in other CombatACE mods/mod packages. daddyairplanes Look, I have this skin made by me, it is the faithful copy of the color with its respective patch and decals of the C-130 that flew in Malvinas-Falkland, the only thing that would change is to use your decals using my skin and the model would be excellent. of course if you agree. If you look closely, the only problem is that the edges of the wings protrude the camo and I can't find a way to paint everything the same color under the wing and this bothers me too much. There I leave a screenshot. Cheers

Mini ver. 9.95 FM update "package" included here for download: Dec. 11, 2020 (revised Dec. 20) - Includes a reworked FM for Stephen's beautiful one-gun (later version) Tripehound that was recently released. Top speed about 193-4 kph below about 500 feet alt., best climb rate about 6 m/s @ 110-120 kph or so. Stalls below high 80s kph. 10-20% rudder adequate to initiate turns (have detuned the rudder slightly from the stock FM). Ailerons are effective. When doing loops, use strong back stick but ease up quickly near the top of the loop so as not to spin out at the top. Good take-off speed of about 110 kph. Lands well at around 90 kph. Keep tail up until you drop below about 60 kph, otherwise with the tail dug into the ground at such speeds you risk a ground loop. Full throttle brings the tail up at speeds as low as 35-40 kph. Otherwise a pleasant type. Have also implemented MaxG limits on it so don't push it too much - dives are good to about the 330s kph or so, then the tall stack of wings tends to work against dives. Have changed the pilot seating position for one of Geezer's pilots that I have (see pic.) - so un-comment the default settings for the pilot if you like. Similar info. applies to the reworked FM for the early Tripe and two-gun Tripe that are now also included. The early Tripe has a top speed (optimistic estimate) of about 185 kph, and climb rate of about 5 m/s @ 110 kph or so. Dives are good/controllable only to about 240 kph on that one (with the early elevator). It takes off well at around 100 kph. The two-gun Tripe is now the rare, 142-3 hp "long stroke" Clerget Bf model - with a nice top speed of 198 kph or so, and similar climb rate to the later one-gun Tripe, at 110-120 kph or so. Have placed an actual throttle on the long-stroke variant, since these would have had some throttle control, etc., so using a blip switch on it is more limiting than necessary. Historical ceilings on the variants, etc. (Vickers now synchronized on all three variants of the Tripe too and linked to historical rates of fire and reliability, etc. - linked up with the various M.G. subtypes available in my big FM pack - those gun folders from the big FM pack are required if you want subtle M.G. changes across the various Tripes, since, for example, the early Tripe has a slower rate of fire, the other two are improvements, but none give 600 rds/min as typical of the Mk.II Vickers of later 1918.) Have also included reworked Decals and TextureSet documents in the zipped file, for all three Tripe variants, for a bit more gloss and shine on the linen, and to display British or French roundels correctly (since I was getting Swiss insignia in stock form for some reason). Also find included in the package my modified terrain data ini files for several theaters, and that are AMD vid-card friendly - to reduce flickering of towns and to improve tree/foliage variety (several alpha settings, among other settings, had to be changed, for terrains to look better on AMD video cards). Also included are modified cockpit ini files for the Tripes, for more field of view towards the tail. And, as well, find enclosed - per theater of operation - re-tweaked data inis for various Albatros types - that reduce mass fraction and structural factor values - to increase chance of damage (since they were a bit too robust with such values at stock). Happy flying all, Von S EDIT: removed download package - now included in the big, ver. 10.0 FM/realism package.

Timor, North Oceania (1950-2018) Terrain August 13th, 2018 (1st Release) by Menrva >For Strike Fighters 2: Vietnam, Recommended Full-5 Merged This is a complete remake of the Modern Darwin terrain made by Wrench. A better and more complete tileset has been added, improving the looks of Northern Australia with the introduction of desert and barren valleys. Various rivers and lakes have been hand-tiled and mimic Real World courses. Now the island of Timor has a lot of bases to take-off from. Numerous target areas, such as emergency airstrips and civilian airports, have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range. This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look. The terrain spans from August 17, 1950 (when President Sukarno proclaimed a single unitary Republic of Indonesia) to December 31, 2018; it is designed for fictional clashes between ANZUS/SEATO forces (namely Australia and New Zealand) and a random pool of Red Side countries (namely Indonesia and China). Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, some airfields will appear only after a certain year, according to historic changes. If you have SF2NA, naval fleets might spawn in the Timor Sea. Also, Off Map Airbases have been added and long range AI flights can be generated from them. All main targets have been placed accurately in their Real World locations. Ground Objects are not included. You can obtain the most needed from Wrench's original Modern Darwin terrain release. >Credits (in no particular order): -Wrench, for he had the idea of recreating such a scenario in the Strike Fighters world. -swambast, who provided me with invaluable help in tracking and fixing common and uncommon bugs. -gerwin, whose TFDtool has proved to be essential in today's terrain making. Your mods are very interesting! -MigBuster, I have included some of his great hi-res textures for runways. -Stary, for the hi-res PTO tileset he made, which I have reworked and expanded. -Brain32, for the gorgeous VietnamSEA tileset repaint he made, from which I borrowed a few tiles. -Centurion-1, Spudknocker and tiopilotos, for the impressive tileset they made for the Angola terrain, from which I borrowed some tiles. Because the original terrain was made and tweaked numerous times by Wrench, I included the ReadMe files from his original packages, to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not. >Disclaimer: This is a freeware; yet it can be redistributed ONLY in other CombatACE mods/mod packages. Ecuador, Northwest South America (1981-1998) Terrain August 13th, 2018 (1st Release) by Menrva, tiopilotos and Stratos >For Strike Fighters 2, Recommended Full-5 Merged I am proud to present a new scratch-made terrain, the result of a joint effort of modders! Initially conceived by Centurion-1, the terrain was later salvaged by Stratos, who offered to help in its development together with tiopilotos. Stratos helped by hand-tiling most if not all the incredibly long rivers in the Amazon rainforest. The terrain later received an impressive tileset produced by tiopilotos! You guys have my deepest gratitude! The terrain completely covers Ecuador, a great portion of Peru, and even touches Colombia and Brasil. However, only Peru and Ecuador have been targetized at this stage. Numerous target areas, such as civilian airports and airstrips, have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range. This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look. The terrain spans from January 28, 1981 (the beginning of the Paquisha Incident) to October 26, 1998 (when a resolution of the Ecuadorian-Peruvian territorial dispute was agreed upon through the Brasilia Presidential Act); it is designed for the Paquisha War of 1981 and the Cenepa War of 1995. Most air-to-ground missions (armed recon, close air support, etc.) take place at the border between Peru and Ecuador, to provide an even more realistic scenario. As in reality, there are few SAM sites placed at their precise Real World locations. Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, some border outposts will appear only after a certain year, according to historic changes. Off Map Airbases have been added and long range AI flights can be generated from them, if you have SF2NA. Ground Objects are not included. It's up to the user to find and obtain anything that can be useful for the proposed terrain's scenarios. >Credits (in no particular order): -Centurion-1, for his interest in recreating such scenario in the Strike Fighters world. I heard RL got in your way, so... best of luck, mate! -tiopilotos, for the massive tileset he produced, and for his continuous support in all my terrain modding efforts. Thank you very much! -Stratos, for he brought to attention Centurion-1's unfinished terrain and offered to help realize it. -swambast, who provided me with invaluable help in tracking and fixing common and uncommon bugs. -gerwin, whose TFDtool has proved to be essential in today's terrain making. -MigBuster, I have included some of his great hi-res textures for runways. -Stary, for the various hi-res tilesets and TODs he made, which have been re-used in this tileset. Although scratch-made, the terrain makes use of most objects and target layouts from Wrench's Panama terrain; because of this, I included the ReadMe file from that package, to the end of giving proper credit to everyone involved directly or not. >Disclaimer: This is a freeware; yet it can be redistributed ONLY in other CombatACE mods/mod packages. Sweden, Baltic Rim (2004-2018) Terrain March 13th, 2018 (1st Release) by Menrva >For Strike Fighters 2: Europe, Recommended Full-5 Merged This is a complete remake of the Sweden terrain made by gillg, but set after the Cold War era. What began as a simple tiling bugfix, for JonathanRL's The Scandinavian Front mod, turned out to be a huge overhaul upon noticing a number of inaccuracies. The terrain has been retargetized and hand-tiled to a good extent; major changes have been done to the Baltic states, which were pretty inaccurate in terms of target locations. Some rivers have been added and/or retiled to mimic Real World courses. Numerous target areas, including airports and highway strips, have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range. This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look. The terrain spans from March 30, 2004 (the beginning of NATO's Baltic Air Policing) to December 31, 2018; it is designed for The Scandinavian Front's scenarios by JonathanRL, taking place after the Cold War era. This terrain is a standalone version of the one which will be included in the last iteration of the TSF mod package by JonathanRL. The terrain that will be included in the TSF mod package will likely differ slightly from this one, so users are advised to keep that in mind. Also, this terrain uses only a single tileset. The TSF's version will use different tilesets according to the season, as originally designed by our fellow modder, Stary. Targets reflect Real World events as accurately as possible; for instance, some airfields won't be available after a certain date and/or will change name according to historic changes. Off Map Airbases have been added and long range AI flights can be generated from them, if you have SF2NA. Most of the main targets have been placed accurately in their Real World locations. Due to the complexity of the area, some inaccuracies are to be expected, but I did my best! Ground Objects are not included. Download JonathanRL's The Scandinavian Front mod package to have all that you need for this scenario. >Credits (in no particular order): -gillg, who created this terrain and whose work I have admired during my rework. I can only imagine how much time he spent on tiling roads and rivers from scratch! -JonathanRL, for his exceptional TSF2 mod package, which prompted me to do something to help improve it. -Wrench, as he is always glad to help us fellow terrain modders. Thank you, sir! -swambast, who provided me with invaluable help in tracking and fixing common and uncommon bugs. -gerwin, whose TFDtool has proved to be essential in today's terrain making. Your mods are very interesting! -MigBuster, I have included some of his great hi-res textures for runways. -Stary, for the wonderful tileset he made exclusively for the original Sweden terrain included in the TSF mod package. -Gepard, for his great tutorials about terrain making, in the SF1 Knowledge Base at CombatACE. It's a gold mine! -tiopilotos and Stratos, who always support me during my terrain remakes. Madagascar, Southeast Africa (1977-2018) Terrain December 13th, 2017 (1st Release) by Menrva >For Strike Fighters 2: Europe, Recommended Full-5 Merged This is a complete remake of the AE terrain made by Deuces and Dave, further tweaked by Wrench. The entire map has been retargetized and extensively retiled; Mozambique is now a lush green jungle, not a barren desert as seen in the original. The Comoros and Mayotte islands now properly exist and are carefully populated by towns and airports. Numerous target areas have been added in order to expand playability, targets of opportunity and year range. This terrain features a fresh new 250m resolution heightmap (instead of the stock 500m resolution), allowing for greater details and precision in elevation changes; overall it provides the whole terrain with a better look. The terrain spans from May 30, 1977 (the beginning of the Mozambican Civil War) to December 31, 2018. Despite the given time frame, this terrain is not right for reproducing the Mozambican Civil War. Instead, the terrain is meant to pit the French Navy against the combined forces of Mozambique and Madagascar in a what if scenario where the Comoros and Mayotte islands are being threatened by the two Soviet-aligned countries. The French (Blue Side) only have four flyable airfields. Don't even try to fly Blue Side long-range bombers from said small airfields; I am providing a rather realistic representation of the area, where the French are tasked with the defence and patrol of the skies above the Comoros and Mayotte islands. Having SF2NA is a must, as I have enabled naval ops. If your mod's folder contains French ships and carriers, you'll see fleets being generated during single missions. Ground Objects are not included. It's up to the user to find and obtain anything that can be useful for the proposed terrain's scenario. >Credits (in no particular order): -Deuces and Dave, who had the idea of recreating such a gorgeous environment in the Strike Fighters world. -Wrench, who kindly allowed me to improve upon his work by giving me a blank cheque and trusting my capabilities. Thank you, sir! -swambast, who provided me with invaluable help in tracking and fixing common and uncommon bugs. -gerwin, whose TFDtool has proved to be essential in today's terrain making. -MigBuster, I have included some of his great hi-res textures for runways. -Stary, for the old .TOD mod which adds trees on this terrain's tileset. -Gepard, for his great tutorials about terrain making, in the SF1 Knowledge Base at CombatACE. It's a gold mine! -tiopilotos and Stratos, who supported me during the terrain's development.
