SOKO Kometa - 101st Fighter Squadron, Serbian Air Force and Air Defence, 2010 In May 1982 the government of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, led by Petar Stambolić, announced the ambitious 'Novi Avion' programme with the aim of designing and manufacturing an air superiority fighter to supplement and eventually replace the Yugoslavian Air Force's substantial MiG-21 force. SOKO (the state aircraft manufacturer) were awarded a design study contract and by 1984 their proposal had crystallized into a single-engine, supersonic fighter aircraft featuring a delta wing with a canard foreplane. The 'Novi Avion' programme seemed to mimic the Republic's move away from Communism to a market economy by becoming a much more capable multi-role aircraft and therefore more attractive to potential export customers. Whilst this did mean an unavoidable escalation in aircraft size and weight it did mean that the excellent Lyulka AL-31F engine (as used in the Sukhoi Su-27) would be a perfect match. In May 1986 the Yugoslavian Government ordered 150 'Novi Avion' aircraft to replace both its MiG-21 and Soko J-21 Jastreb fleets and the following month saw SOKO rename the aircraft as the SOKO Kometa (Comet). Development moved smoothly during the remainder of the decade and many elements of the aircraft programme such as production facilities, mock-up, cockpit simulator, etc. had been constructed. However the start of the new decade saw the political situation in Yugoslavia worsen and by 1991 Yugoslavia had begun to disintegrate into several smaller nations. Putting a brave face on the situation, SOKO announced a postponement of the programme but also an intent to continue "as soon as possible". Production facilities were partially dismantled and relocated to Serbia with SOKO absorbing Utva Aviation Industry (based in Pančevo) who had previously worked with SOKO in the manufacturing of the J-22 Orao and also the G-4 Super Galeb. On April 28th, 1992 the two remaining republics of Yugoslavia, Serbia and Montenegro, formed the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and President Dobrica Ćosić wasted no time in re-launching the Kometa programme. Behind the scenes, SOKO were instructed to simplify certain aspects of the Kometa which included reducing the number of weapon stations from 11 down to 7 by eliminating the four body pylons. The UN economic sanctions imposed on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia were bypassed largely by switching to Chinese avionics. SOKO worked miracles in assembling the first Kometa prototype during 1997 although the first flight would have to wait until May 1st, 1998 when Major General Dragan Mihajlović lifted off from Batajnica Air Base. In 2003 the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia became officially known as the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro but by 2006 Montenegro left the union following a referendum leading to the full independence of Serbia and Montenegro. This political instability slowed the programme even further and it was not until June 5th, 2006 that the Kometa entered service with the 101st Squadron of the Serbian Air Force. Good morning everyone! I have been looking for information on how to install Jane's USAF big mod package known as Super Pro 9.4 for Windows 10. I have successfully set up Jane's USAF and have it running on Windows 10 with Tcklbrry patch. I have been spending a long time trying to get Super Pro 9.4 working. The links for a fully upgraded Super Pro 9.4 are also unavailable. Many of the websites related to Jane's USAF and Super Pro 9.4 ar also not avaiable anymore. If any of you have the information or the knowledge on how to set up Super Pro 9.4 or have the links to the fully upgraded Super Pro 9.4, please let me know. Thank you very much! Kind regards, Eagle114th

My favorite ESCORT mission is. Two A-10 or something similiar. When making some single missions I often assign 'my' ESCORT to two A-10 (or something similar) armed with 'FAC' loadout - smoke markers, Mav, etc. And then ...Warthog will fly escort, will pop up some smokes on some AA defenses. Occasionally shot Mavericks. This is quite useful when flying SEAD, as that unusual 'ESCORT FAC' will mark targets for you...(helpful when flying without 'easy hud' markers on the screen like me) and also eliminate additional AA in the area. While my real ESCORT is fighter flight with a SWEEP mission assigned. Also quite fun is to fly SEAD with assigned ESCORT to Prowlers armed with HARMs. Or fly as Prowler - ESCORT with HARMs for SEAD Weasels. Also, one of my favorite missions to fly.

Those beaches and sea deserve a Felixstowe seaplane base together with the Hansa Brandenburg W.12 and W.29 base. But that would require a bit of England in the map. Anyway, amazing job!!

well, shoot!! I got the tanks working (did some renaming so they're all the same as the typename entry); they now switch with mission taksing, updated all the hit boxes, redid the texture sets to randomize the serial numbers, "ruggedization" (armor updates) other small tweeks. didn't touch the FM at all. Combined several mission tasking into the DefaultFor= statement in the loadout ini I'll just hang loose on my end. The only way to get the skins for the tanks to change would be to build their lods into the aircraft main lod, ala 3W stuff, have them mapped seperately from the aircraft, then they could have squadron specific skins thanks RC!!!

Oh yeah, I know ADF Serials, actually I'm kind of surprised there isn't a similar type of service for the tens of thousands of aircraft in all the US services-- then again, the sheer number of aircraft is probably why. The info I was looking for was on our navy Skyhawk camo schemes( the green-grey and the lo-viz grey), when they were implemented and how many got it, etc. I saw one when I was pretty much still a toddler in the early 80s and it was gull grey and figured that's what they all looked like, and I was in my dirty thirties before I even realised the camoed ones existed. ADF serials covered the what (photos of the liveries), but the ex-RAN/RNZAF service people were able to give the who, why, and how about them. And photos. Holy shit did they have a lot of fantastic, unprinted photos!!

Yes, it's the cockpit I'm talking about. I've always used the Third Wire A-6 aircraft, because it flies better; doesn't pitch up so much off carrier, lands comfortably. But the Diane emulation in the Razbam cockpit is good to look at.

La versione corrente è piuttosto incompleta e ingiocabile. Sono stato distratto da un altro progetto molto ambizioso. Il terreno dell'Italia uscirà, è solo questione di tempo. Chiedo pazienza.
