2 pointsView File A-7 Corsair II 1983-1991 skin pack. SLUFs of grey. Simple skin pack with a few sets of skins for US Navy A-7E Corsair II. This mod covers late years of use. Basic modding skills are required to run this mod. (copy/paste, mod folder structure etc.) It is designed for and works only in SF2 series. To run this mod you need also access to TW lod files from SF2 Series. I highly recommend creating a new aircraft - for example A-7E_83. I have added a data file that will add a new pilot and new SJU seat along with HUD inside the cockpit. Just an eye candy thing. At the end of 1982, Navy SLUFs started to receive new seats and some minor upgrades in avionics. A-7E_83_Data will add a new pilot, new seat, make openable canopy and foldable wings. Adds landing light and removes Fuel tanks model objects from stations 2 and 7. As A-7 can not carry fuel tanks there. (you can use this remove_mod from a file on older Corairs also) The rest of the data file is basically stock one. So still no proper loadouts, rails for Shrikes / HARMs etc. If there will be demand I can upload new highly modified ini files at some point in the future/near future. Skins cover the years 1983-1991 for the Atlantic and Pacific Fleet. Decal set for 'Desert Shiled' VA-46 and VA-72 is slightly different than in the ODS-30AE pack. (it is downgraded so I recommend not messing with this - mixing with original ODS) Pack contains skins and decals. I have included also decals from the previous pack for hi-viz SLUF. So perhaps you can skip this folder but to be sure you can simply overwrite it. I believe there are two more serial numbers for VA-81 /1986. Skins sets are made in pairs - two squadrons for CVW for a specific year. Skin-set for 1986 VA-82 has one small 'bug' In 1986 they were painting bird flying through A in AJ tail code. But I could not find a clear photo of it. So I decided to go without a bird. This is subject to possible updates of the pack in the future. I could not find all proper BuNo / Modex but I am considering this as ongoing work in progress, so one day if I will learn something new there will be an update. Also, not all squadrons have CAG markings, sometimes i could not find info on markings...so I left it, again there might be an update if new info appears. I believe that pack after unp[backing is around 1GB. So make some space for SLUF. All skins, new bump maps, specular and decals are made by me. report bugs. enjoy. Jarek Hereda. P.S. This is huge, a lot of copy-paste for me, all decals.ini, textur.ini, etc...So if you will find that one decal is not showing up or something...just check first - maybe there is some bug in *.ini file. No need to panic! Fix, post solution, etc... So others can benefit from your fix. I put a lot of effort and time, checked everything twice..still gremlins can appear. QUICK FIX! I just uploaded an additional seat called - seat_SJU-8. This is the proper seat that is required by optional data.ini. ************************************************************* This is freeware; it CANNOT be distributed unless permissions are granted by myself. 1 pointGlad to see that the pilot banged out safely, and is back in QE. But how far we have come. Back in the ‘60s, Scimitars and Sea Vixens went in on a regular basis, sometimes monthly..

1 pointThere was an avalanche of patches/updates during the heydays of SF2. What worked in a certain way with one game version became nonfunctional with the next version. Its possible that before SF2I (which brought the F-16A) RCS "worked" with low negative values. And it changed subsequently. Older posts from years back are or can be connected to a certain game version. not to mention that individual users often did not update to the latest version because of personal preferences or "new bug avoidance"

1 pointDear Friends, The cold November is here already and we continue working on our projects. An important milestone for the Battle of Normandy is getting near - its map will be ready to a degree that will allow us to begin the development of Pilot's Career for this theater (meaning that settlements, airfields, roads, rivers and forests will be there). It will be too early to share the screenshots of the map itself at this point since the work on its visual part - texturing and finalizing landscape features, coast and additional detail - happens at the last stage of development according to our workflow. Nevertheless, this stage is not very far away either, since the map overall progresses according to the plan. Speaking of the map, we can say that creation of map objects is finished, including the new city blocks characteristic for Britain, coastal defenses, radar stations, farmsteads for rural areas and, of course, unique landmarks. For creating believable airfields, certain additional airfield objects were created which are characteristic of this theater of war. The work on various naval and ground units for BoN continues - there are several ship types that participated in the landing, including landing craft and radar-equipped ones, and several vehicles like this British armored car Humber Mk.IV, which is ready for deployment. The German heavy fighter Ju 88 C-6 and the legendary US fighter P-51B-5 are getting close to release. Progress on the P-51B has been frustratingly slow with several technical delays due to research and software issues. Anyway, it's Flight Model 99% done and only Malcolm Hood visual is on the finish line of production. Please be patient the early Pony will get here we promise! Arado 234, Mosquito FB MK.VI and Me 410 are at earlier stages of development, but they are progressing according to the general plan. In the meantime, the work on the new fuel system is nearly finished and it will make its debut on Bf 109 fighters. As soon as it is ready we'll apply it to all the aircraft of the sim. This new tech will make the fuel system modeling more realistic, damageable in more detail and pilot interfacing with it will be recreated with more fine details. With this new technology up and running, we plan to switch to the development of the launch, guidance and warhead functioning of the V-1 vengeance weapon - its FM and 3D model, including the launch site, are already ready. There is good progress in Flying Circus Vol. II project is well. The German two-seater recon/strike airplane DFW C.V is the closest one for the release - at the moment its 3D model is nearly finished while its FM is in the works - and we plan to have it in the next update already. Sopwith Triplane should be also released before the end of the year as well as the British heavy bomber Handley Page O/400. Early next year we'll have to finish German bomber Gotha G.V, Western Front map, and two Collector Planes, late WWI fighters. In addition, there is a lot of WWI-era ground vehicles incoming - for instance, in the next update, we plan to release Jeffery Quad, Benz LKW 1912 and Daimler DR4 in several modifications and tanks - Mark V female, Reno FT and Schneider CA 1. WWI aviators will find their life slightly more complicated due to the addition of the German 37mm automatic AA gun Maxim Flak M14. All the things listed above are just a fraction of what we and our partners are working on at the moment, so please stay tuned - we'll be able to tell you more about the other development streams in our next Dev Diaries.

1 pointYou are on the right track. Its a bit of confusion/confounding of the [AircraftData] section with the AircraftShortName= This line is only used for in-game text display purposes, not connected to the RWR and The "aircrafts" data ini, e.g. MiG-29M_data.ini which contains the [DetectSystem] section with the important RadarFamilyName= entry And this (example) RadarFamilyName=MiG-29M designation is what goes into the first part of the list in the .lst file, calling the appropriate texture MiG-29M=RWR_MiG-29M.tga If the RadarFamilyName= line is missing, simply add it. Several older mods dont have it or it has been overlooked during upgrade/conversion from SF1 to SF2 This explanation should be more exact

1 pointDo you realize that we are on SF2 and no longer on SF1 which was last patched in 2008, thus having less features than SF2? Just because a very old topic says the RWR needs to be negative doesn't mean that what was said there is right. In this case, it absolutely is not. This is the most accurate info on how RCS works in SF2: https://combatace.com/forums/topic/94959-lets-talk-basercsmodifier/ The RWR.lst in EricJ's Super Hornet is outdated, the most complete one is included in the F-22A Raptor add-on and in ODS 30AE, it was compiled by guuruu. But you're free to use outdated stuff, no problem with that. What angers me is seeing people pointing fingers to issues that do not exist in what I release, that is truly not funny. The RWR works in the Raptor I released, all stock aircraft from SF2 are shown clearly by the RWR as far as I'm concerned. I already told twice that the issue is on third-party aircraft, either having a wrong RadarFamilyName or missing it entirely. So, as for the connection between RWR and RCS, there is none. But since it seems I speak a foreign language, I'll let others waste their time on explaining what I already explained.

1 pointoff topic of the RWR, you say you can only get the MiG-31s to show in Iceland. i am going to guess you do not have Expansion pack 2 or the mission editor DLC? if you had either you could set up an engagement between those two without waiting for the game to arrange a meeting

1 pointAs far as I know, both the BaseRCSModifier and the HeatSignatureModifier are pretty much useless; it's not that they have optimistic values, it's that only extremely small numbers make a difference, if there's any. I remember reading somewhere on this forum that they did almost nothing, at least if it's the AI craft the one with the modifiers, and they couldn't tell if it did make a difference in the player aircraft. You have to keep in mind that the most modern avionics that are coded in and work are from the 80s, introduced in the NA expansion. Anything more modern than that, and we just have to make-do with what we have. The stealth-related stuff apparently doesn't work, almost at all. Just don't worry about it, just like TVC or HMDs, there's nothing that allows for a proper simulation of it.

1 pointInteresting. My F-22 Raptor stealth values are negative in the INI file.

0 pointsAlaskan Airways is looking for an online flying home to start our virtual airline. I have applied twice to the link on the West Coast ATC page and no response from anyone. I West Coast ATC accepting Virtual Airlines or not? We are small right now only two pilots but we are hoping to grow. I will be glad to apply a third time if that will help helps otherwise please let us know what we need to change to join. I was once here with an airline Virtual-USAairways (BTW it still is on your TS Airline list) but that airline has since closed its doors. Thank you in advanced.

0 pointsMenvra: I edited the RCS values because I was in an F-22 getting shot down by a 37 Arrow from a MiG-31 before I could get close enough to check if the "U" would change to a 31. I got sidetracked. In SF1, the discussion on RCS came up with a posting that said RCS MUST BE A NEGATIVE NUMBER. The person was still testing between -0.1 and -0.6. There was no response to say he was wrong. I took up the MiG-31 and shot down an F-117 with a modifier of 0.0000005. I had inadvertantly put in a minus figure in my previous report. The figure is positive as just stated. In SF1, as I said, we were also told that the RWR did not function in aircraft with low RCS modifiers. So there's your connection between RCS and RWR. Was I getting no RWR symbol because I was too stealthy or because the RWR,LST was wrong? So to respond to your accusation: "Either our answers were not enough" not for when I experimented, "or you are determined in finding issues where there aren't" definitely not, "or in looking in the wrong place", possibly. Thank you for the links to stealth, Crusader, I shall investigate further. So back to RWR. In my user/North Atlantic/objects etc, I have an aircraft in a folder called "MiG-31M", and these are its details [AircraftData] AircraftFullName=MiG-31M Foxhound AircraftShortName=MiG-31M In the Flight Folder, I have a file called RWR_MIG-31.tga I opened it up and it's a little picture of the number 31 In the F-22A, not yours, I have an RWR.LST. I have compiled that list from several sources and even alphabeticised it. Most of it I copied from Eric J's Super Hornet, because I remembered it being quite extensive. Crusader probably did it, because Crusader did the fuel cells too. I remember that. There was a MIG-31 entry there, so I added one more, the MIG-31M MiG-31=RWR_MIG-31.tga MiG-31M=RWR_MIG-31.tga When I did this, the MIG-31 showed up on the radar as a "31". Success. So I then went to the MiG-29 Fulcrum E [AircraftData] AircraftFullName=MIG-29M Fulcrum E AircraftShortName=Fulcrum E I wasn't sure which notation to use in the F-22 RWR.LST So I did all of these, alphabetically interspersed FULCRUM E=RWR_MIG-29.tga MiG-29=RWR_MIG-29.tga MiG-29M=RWR_MIG-29.tga MIG-29M Fulcrum E=RWR_MIG-29.tga In the mission, I just get a "U" So I tried duplicating the tga in the FLIGHT folder, and renaming it accordingly FULCRUM E=RWR_MIG-29.tga MiG-29=RWR_MIG-29.tga MiG-29M=RWR_MIG-29M.tga MIG-29M Fulcrum E=RWR_MIG-29M FULCRUM E.tga No dice. So I've taken your advice and looked into the data file of the MiG-31, and it has a Radar Family Name. The MiG-29 does not. I hope that is the solution.

0 pointsUnless the basing for the 31 is a base NOT included on the Iceland map (like a runway 4 on the red side??) I'd be checking that first. No other reason why it shouldn't show up, other than that and service start dates. you mean an extra hour in a hospital with my wife, where she's been since the beginning of July (actually 3).
