@Icarus999 Thanks to you! Not everyone bothers to say a simple thank you. I also want to stress out that this was all possible to teamwork and to all the support I got from awesome and talented modders. I found myself in some sort of lead role during the project, but without them the mod would have been a mere shadow of what it is now. My thanks go to @yakarov79, @guuruu, @GKABS, @Viper63a, @paulopanz, @daddyairplanes, @1977Frenchie, @dtmdragon, @Crusader, @baffmeister, @Jimbib, @ravenclaw_007, @Nyghtfall, @Veltro2k, @Dels, @RustyKurnass, @Stick. Other previous modders are also credited in the Thanks screen of the mod; many of them did contribute indirectly with their amazing past creations, still used to this day.

Thank you very much as well!! merry xmas!!saved me buying 2 modules at dcs and having a real one like this. The beauty of sf2 is that you can fly ALL planes in ALL eras.. past, present and future, no pressing buttons and readying hours before takeoff, no expensive module buying, SF2 is my real go to when you want to just, fire up, take off, fly and complete your missions without worrying about avionics and systems, and the graphic , effects and map mods are FANTASTIC!!

Each one of the required TW titles had a .cat file that you need for the mod to work .... If you do not have required .cat files the problem is on your end.

I think the problem might be that you didn't ditch the drop tank

WOFF Optional Cloud Mod 4.1 is now available! I had to slightly revise a couple of fog and mist files and I also revised the readme file to clarify how to remove heavy weather types from the mod, if desired. The revised version is available here and at Sandbagger's website: https://www.dropbox.com/s/37hn6m4f0r7dhpn/WOFF Optional Cloud Mod 4.1.zip?dl=0 Enjoy!

Just a heads up Epower the Shooting_range setting is not when they start actually firing - only when they start tracking to shoot.

Default skinpack for stock SPAD VII's. There are two skins - for French and Russian aviation. I tried to add some "photorealistic" textures for more impressive image of this aircraft. I removed wing's cockades and rudder's emblems from "Decals.ini" because they were integrated in my skin. Eugene

I find that getting into a turning knife fight with the Bis, is counterproductive, the Mig has an advantage in fire power over the Sabre, so slashing attacks is the way to go, The Americans discovered this pretty early on when trying to dogfight the Zero, and it would generally end badly for the USN pilots, when they did. The Sabre is very agile, the Mig isnt a tree trunk either, however, 2 pilots in a Mig doing a zoom and boom on a Sabre, is liable to spoil the Sabre drivers day some, one 37mm hit is not going to be.......err beneficial. plus the round drop on the 37mm is not great, so you need to be up close and personal, but also not hang around for the Sabre pilot to turn in on you.

Some years ago i found somewhere in the net a report of a RAF pilot, who had flown the Sabre in Korea War. It was an analysis of the "felt" advantages and disadvantages of the MiG-15 against the Sabre-A (or was it a Sabre-E?) Unfortunatly i have found only the cover of this report on my harddrive. I don't know where the rest of this report went.

Be careful of the Canadair Sabres as well, those are absolutely deadly, they are on par with the MiG-17A (No Afterburner), if not actually better than the 17. Both the Sabre Mk.4 (RAF), CL-13B/Sabre Mk.6 (Luftwaffe and RCAF) are all equally as deadly, the Mk.6 even more so as it can out turn the F-86F and has Sidewinders.

Fans of ThirdWire's Strike Fighters, I'm glad to announce the Christmas release of Operation Desert Storm: 30th Anniversary Edition. This huge and quality total conversion has seen two Early Access releases this year, one back in January 16th and the other on August 2nd. Once available to site subscribers only, now we offer an updated version of the package to all CombatACE users as our Christmas gift, regardless of a subscription. There have been usual bug fixes and important improvements since the last release. Make sure to read the change log and all the details in the mod's download page once it's approved. You are not required to own a subscription, but keep in mind that the mod is distributed in a hefty, yet highly compressed 3GB installer which contains 15GB of contents. You will need a stable internet connection in order to download it. The mod cannot and will not be offered in a different form. A subscription grants you unlimited number of downloads for its duration and will support the site's hosting costs. The Operation Desert Storm: 30th Anniversary Edition modification does NOT comply with CombatACE's Freeware Licensing. Various contents of this modification are exclusive, as such you are NOT allowed to share, redistribute and/or make use of the mod and/or its contents for other purposes, without the consent of the mod's developers. Contents of the modification are the copyright of their respective authors. My personal thanks to the ODS 30AE Development Team, you guys keep inspiring me with your great works and continuous support! And special thanks to @Erik and to all admins and moderators of this great place that is CombatACE. Happy Holidays, pilots of the virtual skies!

@alecsandru1990 Why did you give the mod a 3-star review? The problem is definitely on your end, the mod works fine for pretty much everyone else. You must be doing something wrong. Do you have all required TW games installed? Are they all patched to the latest July 2013 version? Have you pointed the ODS installer to the correct location of your Strike Fighters 2 games? If you need support, this is the correct topic. You shouldn't be reviewing it badly only because it seemingly does not work on your system. It's just disrespectful, childish behavior overall. We put months if not an entire year of much hard work into this project. Most download it, some complain but few actually show gratitude for such efforts, done all for free and passion. The development team deserves more respect.

Socotra 1.0 ***************************************************** This terrain is written for SF2NA and SF2 Israel. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I. Short description: Socotra is a relativly big island on the shores of the Horn of Africa. It belongs to Yemen. Socotra is an ideal position to control all shipping lines between the Mediterranian Sea and the Indian Ocean. The power who controls Socotra can easily block the oil support from the Gulf to Western Europe. Socotra is the cork in the bottle neck, like Djibouti, the Suez Canal or Gibraltar. From mid 1960th to the fall of the Soviet Union, the soviets had an airbase on Socotra. In the 1980th on the base one regiment (squadron) of Su-24 bombers was active on Socotra. This terrain is made for a scenario that the Americans must defeat the soviet forces on Socotra island. They had to operate from carrier positions in the Gulf of Aden. For all guys who love to fly Air Force planes i made a temporary american airfield in Somalia. In the timeframe, where the soviets have no own carriers the single missions are focused on Socotra island. When the soviets field carriers the terrain is mostly focused on carrier vs carrier battles. So, if you prefer carrier vs ground battles you must choose missions before 1976. After that date you will have to fight Kiev carrier battle groups. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ II. INSTALLATION: To run this terrain you need SF2NorthAtlantic and SF2 Israel or SF2 Europe. Unzip all files into your saved game folder ...ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2XXXX Thats it. If you have SF2Israel installed you must do nothing more. If you miss SF2I and have SF2Europe you must open file Sokotra.ini with Notepad editor and look for the lines: CatFile=..\IsraelME\IsraelME.cat //CatFile=..\GermanyCE\GermanyCE.cat change the entry into: //CatFile=..\IsraelME\IsraelME.cat CatFile=..\GermanyCE\GermanyCE.cat save the file ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ III. No. Please let's not make wrong assumptions that only cause more confusion. The Options.ini included with the ODS mod works as is. It's obvious that if you change aircraft name to Scramble it crashes, because the game wouldn't find the required default aircraft for that game mode, that is the F-15C. You're not meeting minimum requirements. ODS requires three games: Strike Fighters 2, Strike Fighters 2 Israel and Strike Fighters 2 North Atlantic. You need to install them all, and it's better that you download the latest installers from the ThirdWire store. Without any more clues, I cannot provide more help than this. It works fine for everybody else on a clean installation.
