2 pointsIf they are Ukranians, its amazing how they achieved this. If they are russians doing a false flag op, well, I´m not surprised.

2 pointsYou know...if you reach someone your little finger, they grab the whole arm. I welcome every bit of improvement for LOD-viewer - it's makes modding so much easier! Having a way to easily load a cockpit-LOD into LOD-viewer is great. I don't know if it is possible and how much work it would need - including a way to see the changes made in the cockpit.ini (rearranging instruments for stand-in cockpits for example) would be incredible. It's just a wish though. I cannot thank you enough for this tool as it is.

1 pointThe US Army and USAF did something like this to open Operation Desert Storm in 1991 in Operation Normandy. Several Army AH-64As guided by a USAF MH-53 PAVE Low attacked an Iraqi EW radar site and made a large hole in their EW radar coverage through which the first coalition attack aircraft flew to strike targets in Iraq. The mission pretty much made then LTC Richard Cody's career. The US Army tried this again on 24 March 2003 and attacked an Iraqi tank brigade that was in a marshaling yard. This turned into a disaster when the AH-64Ds flew through a 40km long flak trap set by the Iraqis in an area that turned out to be their equivalent of the National Training Center and an AAA school. The tanks were bait. The US Army lost one AH-64D outright and had two battalions (6/6 Cav and 1-227th AVN) put out of the rest of the war because they were so badly damaged. In fact, some of the 1-227 aircraft were transferred to 2/6 Cav later in 2003 and still had bullets in the airframes.

1 pointIf this was Russia conducting a false flag operation in justification of a future escalation, then Russia is a joke. You strike something like an empty school, stage it with dead children, then invite the media in to document it. You don't strike your own critical infrastructure that's supplying fuel to the front lines. That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard. Ukraine is striking out and putting Russia on the defensive which is the only way this is going to end sooner than later. Ukraine should continue their offensive strikes on Russia's porous southern border. Russia is exposed and unfocused, so Ukraine won't have a better chance of striking out than this. In addition to a porous border Russia also has four horribly led fronts with nothing protecting its flanks or supply chains. Sadly, this invasion is nothing more than an absurd Slav on Slav genocide. The world weeps.

1 pointThe ukrainian Hind pilots are combat proven. They have learned the job on the hard way in Donbas since 8 years. So they found out, that you must fly very low to avoid Manpads. And very low means 2 meters over ground. Guys who can fly a heli fast at this altitute must have great skills and big balls. And i think the Ukrainians have such pilots. The Mi-24 is for such an attack run a perfect helicopter. It is fast and has an armament which allows to open the fire outside the close air defence of the opponent. I think it is possible, that the Ukrainians had flown this strike. And it was an outstanding job.

1 pointIt depends. The major problem is the difference between metric and imperial system. Its a mental barrier, which is not easy to overcome. Its a diffrence wheter a HUD is showing 100 and means meters (which is low, but save) or showing 100 and means feets, (which is damn low and not very save). The reeducation from one system to the other needs a lot of time. Of course a pilot could fly the plane, but he could not fly it perfect, because he needs time to recalculate the values which shows the instruments into the system in which his brain is thinking. The transistion time is surely more than one year.

1 pointDear Friends, Today’s Developer Diary showcases our upcoming and awesome Mosquito FB Mk.VI. Isn’t she a beauty? Our “Wooden Wonder” as it was called, is in the later stages of development and we have already completed some of her skins that will be included. Work on her flight model has begun and work on finishing her cockpit continues. We are doing all we can to get her into your hangars just as soon as possible. We know she is a hotly anticipated plane and the wait is difficult, but please have patience, we think she will be worth it! As you know, we frequently re-visit some of our older technology and try to improve it. A recent example is our sky, clouds and lighting, which we still hope to improve further in time. Recently, we finally had some time to re-visit our technology that affects the appearance of our Propeller Disk. Our current prop disk has some issues that we wanted to rectify including how it seems to disappear at certain angles. We also wanted to make its appearance more realistic and dynamic. We think we achieved this and here are a couple screens to help demonstrate. It’s hard to get the whole effect in still images or even a video, but we wanted to make you aware of this development. We think you’ll enjoy it once it’s in-game. Enjoy! The Sturmovik Team

1 pointIn early 1991 12 MiG-23ML of the former Jagdfliegergeschwader 9, based at Peenemünde, were ferried by former east german pilots to Ramstein AFB. It was the last flight of german MiG-23s. The planes were a present of Germany to the USAF for the preparation of the Gulf War. The 12 MiG-23ML were shipped to the USA and were used their at Nellis AFB as part of the Aggressor Force of the Red Flag exercises. Before the USAF got the german MiG-23ML the Aggressor pilots called the 23 as a bad plane. After flying the MiG-23ML nobody of them called the Flogger as a bad plane anymore. And finally a real picture of the MiG-23ML at Ramstein AFB. Today one of the german MiG-23ML is to be seen at Evergreen Air & Space Museum Oregon in its original camo and insignia. http://www.theedges.org/Aviation/Aeroplane_Museums/Evergreen/evergreen_Mig23_Flogger.html It is also said, that one 23ML is exhibited at Nellis AFB museum, but with iraqi camo and insignia.
