never had a problem with ground objects... just click the ini. pilots, the work as long as the ini and lod are present in their folder... weapons, they work most of the time; however you may need to click on the LOD itself for it to show (like in the AGM28 below)

This is a primitive version of the SU-27 Flanker heavy fighter, it is not optimized for ground attack but it can carry a lot of bombs. the model is a SU-35 casing that we once worked with ALEDUCAT and it was never finished, today I finished it as a Sukhoi 27 to share it. the chosen cockpit is the one created by YEYEYE, the original readme is added. The missiles that I chose are from some weapons pack, I don't know who created them but it is appreciated. I hope you enjoy. By pressing the corresponding vectorization keys (vertical thrust) the plane becomes unstable like the SU-57 model, being able to perform the Cobra maneuver.

Wrench , I meant to show the weapons and pilots when looking the aircraft in LODViewer, just like in game. This will make much more simple to adjust and select the correct load.

Thanks. Now it works. My fault was, that i clicked on the LOD files only and with stock objects we have no access to the LOD.

Yes, it is. I had difficulty with this at first and I seem to recall it was something about where I saved it or where I asked it to point to.

Your best bet would be to use Normal HUD (as it is also better in my opinion) and then just turning it off with ALT+D I just looked around the F-8E cockpit and found nothing that shows my ripple interval and quantity

North American F-100D Super Sabre (West Germany) for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of the stock F-100D to create a fictional F-100D in service with the German Air Force in the 1958-1967 timeline with colourful 'Black Tulip' markings for JG 71. I'm releasing this 'as is' as a request from a couple of my friends here at Combat Ace. Only 8 aircraft numbers are supplied and the complex nose marking is the best I can do with limited time. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-100Dwg folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-100Dwg folder into your Decals folder. That's it! In your aircraft selection drop down menu you will find this under F-100D Super Sabre (West Germany) this is just to separate it from the standard F-100D as I've removed the refuelling probe from this version. CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 1 - Dec 18th, 2022

SitRep: I'm still working on Energodar, town and nuclear powerplant. I added some more factories and other ground objects. Then i try to rework parts of the tiles which not match. And finally i have started to "plant trees".

With Swambasts help i try to create the Kakhovka high dam. He is making the objects, while i made a new tile and puzzle the parts together. Its not finished yet. I must still create 3 new tiles and then i hope, that the tiles will fit and will looking good.

SitRep: The progress of terrain modding was yesterday slow. I wasted my time to find a bug, which was a transport plane, that randomly appeared middle on the runway. After hours and hours of searching i finaly found the reason for the bug. It was a simple typo. I wrote "." instead ",". And again the old wisdom proved true: It are the little things that cause big troubles.

Okay, thanks for the info. Edit: I removed the Krivaks from Sewastopol Harbour. Additionally i added some stock partolboats to the harbour. Lets see wheter they also cause a SEAD problem or not. Edit: Here the location of the target areas at Crimean Peninsula: More will come.

SitRep: The russian airfields are mostly done. Only the parking aircraft positions must still be fixed. I added some factory and storage areas at the Crimean peninsula, so that if you want to fly strike missions not only runways will be the choosen target. Screenshot: You see Sewastopol Harbor, as far it is already done. In the front is the Black Sea Fleet HQ complex, on the right the northern part of the harbour with some cargoships, warehouses and factories. On the left bank the beginning of the southern part of the harbour. It is not finished yet. If you use SF2NA as basic game you will find some Krivak frigates in the port. I think i will release the next Beta tomorrow.

Change the warhead weights to what you see below which accounts for the amount of incendiary in the Armor Piercing Incendiary/ Tracer (API/ API-T) rounds used in late WWII M2 .50cal belts and post WWII M3 .50cal belts. The figure I have used is based on the actual grams of incendiary in each shell averaged over the typical belt composition in the case of the M2 and then halved to account for the fact it is incendiary not explosive.

But it sure is pretty to look at. Tanks off, let's go downhill Now, to any sane person, this scene right here should have been a clue as to the outcome of what I'm about to do. Obviously, sanity is not a strong family trait.......... The attempted roll-out, flash, shockwave, "Oh Sh*t", and bail-out were almost simultaneous........Next time, "must go faster"

Now that I remembered what day it is....I'd gone after this target with a B-52 flight and got shot down. Tried it with F-100's and just couldn't get past all the SAMS and fighters that seem to love that area. So today was the F-105's turn, and it was a nice clear morning to go and kill this Communications Facility. At about 25 miles, my wingman started yelling about SAM Launches, "enemy planes were detected in my area" and since between the two of us we had exactly 0 AA missiles, I'd had about enough of that nonsense, and this was close enough. About a minute later, I cut of communications to a significant portion of the country, ended the SAM & Mig threat, and other than some temporary flash blindness, had an uneventful ride home.

Modern Darwin Terrain, CleanUp Pak For SF2 - Full-4 Merged Reccomended (but not fully required) (Reccomended to have the SF2:V VietnamSEA cat readily available) While working on the Oz-Mirage, I noticed some errors, shall we say, with the Modern Darwin terrain, so decieded to go through it do some clean up. It could still use a major retargeting, but this will enchance things a little until such time as that happens. Several areas have been completly retiled, some cities moved/removed/renamed/retargeted, and so forth...lots of fiddiling with the Height Field to remove some oddities were performed. I think it's much better now, thank you! <grin>. If you don't have the terrain already, use the following URLs to download it. The original terrain is here: http://combatace.com/files/file/6089-modern-darwintimor/ The SF2 Upgrade Pak is here: http://combatace.com/files/file/11564-sf2-update-modern-darwin-terrain/ If you already have it in your SF2 install, and have the SF2 update installed, this package is all you need. HOWEVER....if you wish to enhance the terrain, I'd reccomend Stary's GreenHell3, as it uses the exact same placements as the stock tiles (with some tree exceptions), and is REEEALLLY worth the download. Yes, I've tested the terrain with BOTH tile sets. You can get GH3 from here: http://combatace.com/files/file/11649-green-hell-3/ NO OTHER TILESETS, OTHER THAN GH3 and the STOCK ONE are RECCOMENDED!!! Otherwise, the TODs =will= foul up the targeting (ie: placements of buliding and GroundObjects). For those wishing to use GH3, a Darwin_Data.ini all set up for that use is suppled. Several changes to the targets, types, movements inis, along with the invocation of the LimitedNations=TRUE statement should bring this more in line with the Real World ™. New planning maps are supplied, too. A modified version of the PLAN Destroyer from my Formosa upgrade is included (changed a few things). No other GroundObjects (read: ships) are included; you should already have them in the game installs, along with the various SAMs, AAA, vehicles, and etc. Several new, custom TODs for the Grass-river tiles are included, for use =ONLY= with the stock VN-SEA tileset. Geophysical Disclaimer: some rivers and other water features may not follow their Real Life ™ courses, or be placed in their Real Life ™ locations. Several cities and other target areas may also fall into that classification. As always, unzip this to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. As always, the expected "Notes" section for whatever reason it's there for! Happy Landings! wrench kevin stein

Thanks to Wrench for the Darwin map. Wrench's work on this map has been an inspiration, that I had to give the Terrain tiles an update. I did use the Rwayupgd_Pv1 (thanks Polak) addon to update the Runways and Taxiways. and very big thanks to Google maps for SAT images.

Himalaya Terrain Updates, For SF2 Series (& SF/Wo*, too!) I was unable to find the readme that came with Major Lee's original release, so this will have to suffice. This terrain was first released in 2004. Some modifications and the like for Major Lee's Himalaya terrain, updating tileing, targeting, movements and suchlike. Designed for use in a Full-4 Merged SF2 install. It should, however, work just fine in standard unmerged installs, and with some editating, in all 1stGen series as well. As stated above, this is the FULL terrain, with all internal objects needed. You simply need to unzip and install. Some new tiles have been added to make it look a bit more 'lived in', and several new target areas have been added (cause everyone needs someone to bomb...). All the inis have been updated, and a new Movements.ini created for CAS and Armed_Recon missions. This map also makes use of the LimitedNations and LimitedMissions statements for both sides, so you won't have any Anti-ship missions since the nearest ocean is like 1500+ miles to the south. You will also be extracting and editing the game's Nations.ini to add the new nation of Nepal. A new Nepalese ground unit is also supplied. This terrain mod, while designed for SF2 merged installs, is easily back-dated for use in all 1st Gen SF/SFG/Wo* game installs at the 08 Patch Level. You'll just need to change the shader statments; instructions are below. No editing is necessary for the ground objects; other than having the guns and weapons for the infantry unit. Also added are several new tiles, creating some cities, hills and mountains, rivers for the region, and filling in the Kathmandu valley with farms and fields. The northern, higher elevations (heading into Tibet and China), while having a city or 2, are still predominantly snow/rock fields. Some liberties have been taken with target placements, but they are named correctly, and more or less in their Real Life ™ locations. Give or take a few dozen kilometers, and several thousand meters in altitude. This terrain mod contains 2 of the highest altitude airbases in any mod ... fly accordingly! It is ALSO highly reccomended you READ this entire document through before installing this mod. Especially the Notes section. If you don't, you're SURE to run into problems. And then, we'll clown on you. Hard and mercilessly. Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein

Modern Darwin Terrain, Update Pak For SF2 - Full-4 Merged Reccomended (but not fully required) This is an update pak for the Modern Darwin/Timor terrain I released in 2009. It is designed to replace some small bits inside, so you =MUST= have the 2009 update pak for this terrain to install -this- package into. You can find it at the following URL (this is the complete terrain, WITH tiles): http://combatace.com/files/file/6089-modern-darwintimor/ This pak updates several inis to SF2 levels, adds a few little fixes to some terrain objects, and for the 12/2010 patch, adds the _Water.bmp that the new mission builder requires. Targeting remains the same, although the Runway2 has been 'repaved' to a full concrete/macdam surface (no more dirt). Some "other items" have also been updated. The LimitedNations statement has NOT been added, so anyone and everyone can fly here. As always, unzip this to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. REMINDER: this is NOT for the DAT's Timor terrain in their all-inclusive "Wings Over Timor" mod!!! This is for the terrain update listed above ==ONLY==!!!! Happy Landings! Wrench kevin stein

Modern Darwin Terrain Ver 2.0 for SF/SFG/WoV/WoE & SF2/SF2:V/SF2:E UPDATED to Version 2.0 6/11/09 This is a rebuild of MY rebuild of Edward's WW2 Pacific Theatre map of Northern Australia, Timor, and parts of Indonesia. This moves it up into modern-ish times; the operational time frame I've designed it for is apporximately 1950-2050. Modern place names have been used were needed (and discoverable!). It has been extensively updated for Post-08 Patch Level installs for the Classic Series ™ {herein after to be known as "TOS"}, and is usable in the New Series {herein after to be known as "NextGen"}. The Update is designed to COMPLETLY replace the earlier version I'd released some years ago, and is a COMPLETE terrain with just about everything needed for installation. It has been extensively re-tiled, with the addition of MANY parts from the WoV "GreenHell" ™ mod by Brain32 & CA_Stary, while still using ONLY the original stock tiles (in other words, TODs for the jungle/paddy/grass. City TODs are still the stock ones, due to target placements within the cities) . The target areas have been 'cleaned up' and enhanced, including some that are of a 'fictional nature' to enchance gameplay. The movement ini has had some additions for CAS missions on Timor., The data ini has also been brought up to present (post-08) standards, with all effects activated. For mission and campaign builder, 2 Friendly Carrier stations have been added. I've included several new ground objects, mostly to replace some that have gone missing from General Usage ™. Included are 1 new destroyer, 2 1/2 aircraft carriers, and some other things. (I say 2 1/2 carriers, as one, HMAS Australia, is just ini edits to create a "What If..." for the RAN). There's also quite a few surprises ... so keep a sharp eye out, especially when flying near coastlines/ports at night ... *NextGen users take note -- you =MAY= be making data ini adjustementst for use in SF2/SF2:V/SF2:E. I've experienced NO anomalies during testing. Your mileage may vary* **SF/SFG/SF2 Only users take note: you will be missing 2 of the naval vessels; the SumnerFRAM2 destroyer and the SCB-125 Essex class aircraft carrier. You will have to import the various and sundry bits from WoV or Post-08 Patch WoE. Or find "other alternatives". Or switch to WoE/WoV as your main gaming install. It is also suggested (read: REQUIRED!!) you have the latest weapons pak installed for the various guns, SAMs, and whathaveyous. This is mostly for the ships, and air defense units --this is MOST critical for NextGen SF2 series users!!!! Any additional Ground Objects you can get your hands on, is also HIGHLY reccomended!! (Pasko's SAMs and Vehicles Pak, Kesselbruts Zil Trucks, you get the idea...) As always, unzip this to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. It is also HIGHLY reccomended you read this document ALL the way through to get an understanding of what's to be accomplished, and how to do it. Happy Landings!! Wrench Kevin Stein ps: yes, I've reused the same screenie. Just too lazy to take/make a new one
