Russian T-72BV, repaint of the stock T-72A Its not perfect. The curvy shape of the turret makes it difficult to paint the ERA tiles properly. Its a pity that it is not possible to remove the smoke grenade launchers and the V-shape on the hull front.

Panzerpack for Ukraine terrain ***************************************************** This mod is made for SF2. ---------------------------------------------------------- I. This package contains some tanks which are, or will be in the next time, in use in Ukraine War. This are: For the Ukraine: Leopard1A4 delivered by Germany Leopard1A5 delivered by Germany Leopard2A4 delivered by Canada, Spain and Norway T-64B original ukrainian tanks, former soviet T-72M1 delivered by Czech Republik and Poland For Russia: T-72B former soviet T-72BV former soviet The T-64B, the T-72 and the Leopard1A4 are repaints of the stock files made by TK. The Leopard1A5 is a repaint of the tank which made Gabilon. The Leopard2A4 is a repaint of the tank made by Kesselbrut. Alle LOD files are low poly, which reduce the workload of the computer. With my new made skins the tanks are looking good enough. The tanks are set for a timeframe from 2022 or 2023 onward. They will not appear earlier in the game. I have adjusted the values of the armour to make it more real. I also devided the hull of the tanks into two parts. The upper part has a better armour protection and the lower part a weaker armour, as it is in reality. Example for calculation of armour thickness: T-72M1 has a frontal hull armour of 3 layers of steel ( 50 mm inner plate, 60 mm outer plate, 30 mm add on plate) and one layer of Textolit (105 mm). Since Textolit has only effect against HEAT i use only the steel value to calculate. The formula is x= nominal thickness / cos(angle of armour plate) so we come to x= 140 / cos (68°) ==> x= 373,73 mm ~ 374 mm ----------------------------------------------------------------------- II. INSTALLATION: -Unzip into your SF2 mod folder ---------------------------------------------------------- III. For remarks, comments, bugs, etc please use the forum or send me a PM. ------------------------------------------------------------- IV. All files are FREEWARE. Wow, what a burst of opinions and whishes ! Well, I guess we should have to think carefully what bird to choose this time, so many whishes... Thank you for your input friends and for the warming welcome. I really feel that I am back home here with you. I will also take some time to take a look to the birds you mentioned here, then I will see if I can build a winning team. Thank you! PS - And , of course, any other opinion of other members are encouraged further.

Welcome back and I hope that you are ok! I think that the next plane, should be some rare and inusual. Like a Jaguar biplace, Mirage G8, a Su-15 biplace or something shocking like that

I took the stock Leopard1A4 tank and gave it a new skin. Its hard to believe, that a little bit paint can change the apperance of a very simple LOD so much. And this is the old Leopard 1A5 LOD made by Gabilon in 2005 with a new skin for the Ukraine terrain:

any commercial airliner in a warzone wont be neutral. The US gives alot of charter business to companies on condition that in a war time call up a percentage of their fleet and crews will become auxillaries (was used in 90-91 and again in 03). thats passenger and cargo with some converted for medevac. It is officially known as Civil Reserve Airlift Fleet or CRAF. Aeroflot was always a dual entity. a short Google search will show paratroopers loading up on Aeroflot IL-76s. they werent flying first class not sure on other European nations (east or west) but safe to say the airlines would be pressed into service. as i mentioned elsewheres, ther is a BLUE Airliner nation. mainly made to create an airliner formation. wouldn't be too big a stretch to make a RED airliner nation.

As to say about aircraft i want to say that Tu-154 we can just convert from free FSX model from abandoned Project Tupolev. Easy cake but i dont see the reason to have comercial liners in a combat sim when we can not mark them as a neutral. And as to my aicrraft wishes i want X-32 this is damned ugliest aircraft I have ever seen in my life. I love it and i want to marry it

It would be great to have a decent model of B-747 cargo with extra tanker mod (at least with fake pilot), S-2 Tracker for numerous campaigns and beautiful CL-215 Canadair, you will agree. Guys, I hope someone will at least consider, a converted version of the MiG-19 Farmer, because we have a good MiG-15 from Capun, we also have a converted MiG-17. Since the MiG-21 project is going slow but progressively, with new Su-17, which I hope to see in my lifetime.

I did some work on the panzer pack for the Ukraine terrain. I adjusted the armor to more or less correct values, included the lower hull with reduced armor thickness and added the tactical numbers and the white cross. For the T-64B i did dome photoshop to change the wheels from massive T-74 to small T-64. Here the ukrainian T-72M1 and the T-64B

Question ... and this design did you already decal? because I had it in mind to do it but if it is ready it is not necessary to do it again
  47. 1 point
Well, I'd be careful with that if I were you. Take the AIM-120 AMRAAM as an example. When fitted to the wing pylons on a F-15C, it uses a missile rail and the rocket engine is the one that propels the missile immediately at launch. When fitted to one of the stations on the CFTs, the missile is actually ejected, so it would separate enough from the aircraft before the engine starts and avoid damage to the aircraft. That is especially important when an aft hardpoint is used. If you want to have more realistic missiles such as the AMRAAM in SF2, I believe you need to have 2 versions of the same missile - one rail launched and a second with the "use missile rail" option unchecked. Then you would need to use also a specific station code entry to prevent the wrong version being loaded, such as a rail launched version loaded on a hardpoint on the CFTs.

When you see all the confusion about MiG-21 designations including Third Wire games, you have to remember, prior to the fall of the Soviet Union, MiGs were classified visually into their NATO designations: i.e. Fishbed C, D, E, J, L, N etc. Letters were assigned as new visual differences appeared. So a Russian variant and its export might get the same letter because they looked the same even though they may have significant internal differences. Likewise, two variants that were very similar but had some major visual change would have different letters. What little that was reported on actual Soviet designations was confusing in the West. After information became available, documents continue to mix up old NATO guesses for Soviet designations versus actual designations. Add to that the fact that the MiG factory had their own production series numbers for variants independent of the Soviet government's official MiG designation. As someone who grew up with the NATO designations, a MiG-21F and MiG-21F-13 were indistinguishable: both were publicly known as MiG-21F Fishbed C to me and in fact, I didn't know about the original production variant until maybe the late 80s/early 90s. Among the Third Wire designations, the one reflecting the most confusion from my perspective is the MiG-21PFV. There was no MiG-21PFV. The Vietnamese flew the same export variants of the PF series flown by other clients. Russian sources don't note any special version with a "V" for Vietnam or some customization used by Vietnam. The extra letters usually annotate some sort of weapon, sensor, or propulsion upgrade.

Sorry for being so late. With ground objects like ships the durability is a combination of the object's "EmptyMass=" with the volume of the object's "Hit Boxes". This durability level can then be amplified by the use of the "StructuralFactor=" entry. It can the be further modified via the "HasArmor=TRUE/FALSE" option. Then setting a "ArmorMaterial=" and thickness value in millimetres. Armor material types are ALUMINUM, STEEL, TITANIUM, GLASS, FIBERGLASS, WOOD, and NONE An example from a battleship. [Hull] ModelNodeName=Hull EffectSize=1.0 MinExtentPosition=-16.634,-105.707,-8.412 MaxExtentPosition=16.634,114.828,9.093 StructuralFactor=1000.0 HasArmor=TRUE ArmorMaterial=STEEL Armor[FRONT].Thickness=304.8 Armor[RIGHT].Thickness=355.6 Armor[LEFT].Thickness=355.6 Armor[REAR].Thickness=254.0 Armor[TOP].Thickness=273.05 Armor[BOTTOM].Thickness=254.0 Take a look at this post, is included quotes from the games creator about hit points and armor.

Interesting revelation hehe ... thinking of other ideas, will editing the hex allow you to change a map from bmp to tga? I have thought several times to modify elements of a LOD with transparency and it cannot be done by mapping without redoing the 3d ... would this option work? For example, to remove elements that are part of a larger mesh but have a different texture, would it be a solution?
