6 pointsUps, shit happens. Shot down by the own bomb. But it was worth the effort.
-
6 pointsTurns out I based my markings for VA-34 on their CVA-60 1961-62 Mediterranean cruise on the USS Saratoga but during their detachment to the USS Essex for the 'Bay of Pigs' Operation their aircraft still wore the markings (including the Carrier name) of their 1960-61 CVA-60 Med cruise on Saratoga. I have updated accordingly and included a 'Red' Cuban FAR Campaign flying the T-33 or Sea Fury. I also forgot to credit Nyghtfall for his tireless work on the Scooters including the templates I used. 5 pointsJust got into the SF2 series and love it. Now the next move ,FE2 ,a awesome looking sim that my gaming rig can handle easily. Very excited about all the addons and all the mods for it. Will be getting FE2 in the next few weeks-(limited income) ,and will really enjoy it. I'm sure i'll be a regular once i do ! Love combat ace. Can't believe what i've been missing out on all this time. Better late than never ! Regards,Scott

4 pointsI know that it is too late...but from point of view of 3d model - S-2 tracker / E-1 Tracer also Mirage 2000N/D should not compete against each other. 3d guy having S-2 can pop up E-1 or C-1 easily too - then you have 3 new aircraft. Same situation in the 2000 N/D spot. And now you can see that 2000N has 12 votes while 2000D has 11 and both are losing to some wannabe fighter. While could have strong 23 points...And from 3d model / ini file, there is not much of a difference. but just my 2 peso to discusion. Let us make Dassault great again!

4 pointsThe What-if UK’s economy must have been in real trouble if our frontline fighters were Strikemasters by 1991!

Flakpanzer Gepard for Ukraine terrain ***************************************************** This mod is made for SF2. ---------------------------------------------------------- I. The Gepard Flakpanzer is a mobile gunsystem intended to escort and defend tank units. In this role it is outdated today. But it is still very usefull as point defence weaponsystem against cruise missiles and drones. In 2022 Germany handed over already stored Gepard Flakpanzer to the Ukraine. In this mode the Gepard Flakpanzer is available only for the Ukraine from 2022 and for Brazil from 2014. This Gepard mod is made for older and slower computers. It use Gabilons old and small LOD file from 2005. I made a new skin to give it a good look. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- II. INSTALLATION: -Unzip into your SF2 mod folder ---------------------------------------------------------- III. For remarks, comments, bugs, etc please use the forum or send me a PM. ------------------------------------------------------------- IV. All files are FREEWARE. 2 pointsIt is a plot from the PRC, they are using SF2 to train against ROC, do not model it ! On only Mirage 2000D and 2000N and Iran F5A and Ethiopian F5A can save the world !

2 pointsModding in progress : I wasn't too happy with the handling at slow speed and sometimes the wingmen crashed. I just don't know what happened to this one So I decided to give more lift... but the landings on the aircraft carrier were not good anymore I got rear-ended by a wingman. I thought I should go further on the deck to wait for the wingmen, but the edge is not where it seems ^^ the left wheel is still there. On this one I recreated the issue just for the screenshot xD Wrong settings for a fake engine that I gave up later. Only the regular engines remain. I added some reverse and it worked as wanted with the player aircraft but not with the AI aircrafts who started to crash, so I deleted everything. The purpose of a fake engine at 0,0,0 of the model was to have a reverse sound, and it worked. But it looks like someone was smoking in the cargo bay next to a barrel of gasoline. It's going to take longer than I thought, but as long as the Royal Navy let me use their carrier (in the straits of Dhimar) it's ok.

1 pointSince we were talking about drogue chutes, I did some research on War Thunder Wiki, and they claim that the following aircraft have drogue chutes: UK: HUNTER FGA.9, JAGUAR GR1, JAGUAR GR.1A, LIGHTNING F.6, LIGHTNING F.53, PHANTOM FG.1, PHANTOM FGR.2, EUROFIGHTER TYPHOON US: F-4C, F4E, F4J, F-5E, F-105D,F-104C, F-104A, F-100D, F-5A, F-5C, F-84F FRANCE: F-84F, F-84F IAF, S.O.4050 VAUTOUR, VAUTOUR IIA IDF/A, ETENDARD IVM, F-86K, F-100D, JAGUAR A, JAGUAR E, MILAN, SUPER MYSTERE B2, MIRAGE 5F, MIRAGE F1C, MIRAGE F1C-200,MIRAGE F1CT, MIRAGE IIIC, MIRAGE IIIE, MIRAGE 2000C-S5, MIRAGE 2000D-R1 There are lots of aircraft from other countries, if you are interested. You can fit a working drogue chute on any aircraft that should have one, even though it won't have a visual model. In the aircraft DATA file you add this notation to the fuselage: SystemName[NEXT NUMBER]=BrakeChute Further down, next to airbrakes for neatness, you add this: [BrakeChute] SystemType=AIRBRAKE DeployTime=3.0 RetractTime=1.5 AnimationID=10 DragArea=30.00 MaxDeploySpeed=87.45 BlowbackSpeed=89.45 FullyDeployOnGround=TRUE The above is what I borrowed from the F-117 and use on the F-4E. The F-117 has a beautiful visual model of a drogue parachute, but you can't have that. I adjusted the MaxDeploySpeed (given in metres per second) to170 kts, which is probably the highest speed you would land. I haven't a clue what blowback speed is. I just changed it to have a corresponding relationship with MaxDeploy. If the chute isn't slowing you down enough, you can change the Drag Area. You're welcome

1 pointVery old news. Most of us have known this since WoV came out (for the A-6). IIRC, there's even a tutorial in the Knowledge Base. Can't remember if it's in 1stGen (SF/Wo*) or SF2 KBs Also, by Modder Consesus (tm), Canopy animations (manual input type) are Amimation_10, so to use the Shift/0 (zero) keystroke. Also the way it's been done since first discovered in the early 2000s (shift/9 is wingfold, just so's you know)

1 pointOTC was always one of my favorite mods so I'm excited to try this!
-
1 pointI don't see the point of using this without a visual model. For what. Use wheel settings. With this you can achieve both a 10 kilometer run after landing and an instant stop HasBrakes=TRUE BrakingCoefficient=0.75 <-------------------- In Gears section

1 pointBAC Strikemaster FGA.1 - No.208 Squadron, RAF Middle East Command, 1966 In the so-called 'Aden Protectorate' (today part of Yemen) during the early 1960's various disparate anti-British guerrilla groups slowly formed into two larger organisations consisting of the Egyptian-supported National Liberation Front and the Front for the Liberation of Occupied South Yemen. Attacks against the British began at a relatively low level but suddenly escalated on December 14th, 1963 with an National Liberation Front grenade attack at Khormaksar Airport that killed two people and injured another fifty including the British High Commissioner. Later on the same day a state of emergency was declared in Aden. Attacks against British forces by the National Liberation Front and the Front for the Liberation of Occupied South Yemen continued and relied mainly on grenade attacks largely focused on killing off-duty British officers and policemen. In 1964 the British 24th Infantry Brigade arrived to conduct land operations and the RAF station at Khormaksar was quickly expanded, eventually operating nine squadrons including the Hawker Hunter fighter-bombers of No.208 Squadron who had been previously based at RAF Muharraq in Bahrain. Air strikes by fighter-bombers against the mobile guerilla forces were often ineffective and Army commanders considered that with complete air superiority then perhaps a slower aircraft with an observer assisting the pilot might be a more accurate combination in supporting British ground forces and attacking the rebels. BAC had already been proposing an armed version of the Jet Provost to the RAF for weapons training without success but tried again towards the end of 1964 and were rewarded with a production contract for 50 armed Jet Provost trainers in January 1965. With the Jet Provost T.5 still on the BAC production line and BAC already developing the private venture BAC 167 Strikemaster then the new aircraft was developed very quickly. Essentially an armed version of the Jet Provost T.5, the Strikemaster FGA.1 featured an uprated Rolls-Royce Viper turbojet engine, four underwing hardpoints, two machine guns under the intakes and new communication and navigation gear. Entering service in February 1966 with No.208 squadron at RAF Khormaksar the Strikemaster force was expanded when No.8 Squadron re-equipped with the type in April 1966. Both units flew armed reconnaissance sorties in the Radfan and Dhala areas a difficult task as the rugged terrain aided concealment and camouflage. The Hunter FR.10's of No. 1417 Flight and the Shackleton MR.3's of No.37 Squadron helped with pre-strike and post-strike photographs and during the Autumn of 1966 the rebel forces in the Radfan area increasingly used caves to store arms and ammunition. These difficult targets were successfuly attacked by both the Strikemaster ground-attack squadrons often under FAC control. However, repeated guerrilla attacks against British forces by the National Liberation Front continued (and subsequently increased after the 1967 Six-Day war) causing the British to leave Aden by the end of November 1967. Following the British departure, the National Liberation Front managed to seize power and establish the People's Republic of South Yemen. The Radfan Strikefighter wing returned to the UK to form a new Tactical Weapons Unit at RAF Brawdy operating the type until 1991. Skin Credit: allenjb42

1 pointHey Madvad! I need this smoke generator. Could post it please? Mandatory screens
-
1 pointI would like a cockpit for the Viggen AJ37 (very different from JA37 anyway) and for the Vautour
-
1 pointI took Gabilons low poly Flakpanzer Gepard LOD and gave it a new skin. Its astonishing how a good skin can change the look of a LOD with only 86 kB size.

1 pointSome Thunderbirds and civilian aerobatics training! (PS: I doing a "Smoke pod" , and I need some help with the smoke visuals. Look the difference between my smoke in the F-4D and the smoke from the T-38 TB mod. I struggling to make the white smoke less fluffy and thick, llike the more natural one in the T-38. Help is welcome ;) )

1 pointAnd how this is going to help? It is fun to have a wish list...but it is only fun. the cockpit will not make itself suddenly... Research time. This is not like you will google "xyz cockpit" and have ready everything. Manuals, hundreds of photos and you still will have a shitload of work. I think years ago someone asked about creating a research group - to take part of the workload from the modeler. Suppose it did not work out either. Maybe one day... as for now generally, 3d guys here are on their own... But believe me, research in this matter is hard. As I said - it is not about googling cockpit photos. the best thing about making a working cockpit is - that in the end after all this hard work you will feel rewarded. So...yes we need a cockpit for this and that..but whining about it...will not make it happen...
