    1. SF2 TMF Mirage IIIE (AdA) Upgrade/Remod Pack

SF2 TMF Mirage IIIE (AdA) Upgrade/Remod Pack       3/14/2024
-For SF2, Any and All- (Full 5 Merged Suggested)
This is a full upgrade/remod pack for The Mirage Factory's Dassault Mirage IIIE as used by the French Air Force.
Even though there is =NOT= a stock 3W Mirage IIIE, this is set up and labeled to cause NO conflicts with any (other) Mirages available within the game. Skins remain in their original bmp format.  All necessary items are provided, weapons, pilots, seats, sounds, effects, and so forth (most weapons used ARE stock 3W items, excepting drop tanks). A new User List has also been created (see note about that in the "Notes" below).
This aircraft is supplied with 3 skins:
      EC 1/13 Artois (NMF)
EC 2/4 La Fayette (EuroCamo <1968)
      EC 3/3 Ardennes (EuroCamo <1980)
Each skin has 26 id letters/serial numbers. Almost all markings are decals, and Decal Randomization is TRUE. As you can see above, the SF2 Date Switch is in effect.
When in-game, on the Aircraft Selection Dropdown you'll see:
      Mirage IIIE (TMF)
So you can't mistake them for anything else but TMF Birds (tm).
As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. All original readmes, when discoverable, are included. The 'Change Log' is, as always, in the Notes section below.

    6. 52nd Fighter Wing 1994

      52nd Fighter Wing 1994
This mod brings together all of the aircraft of the 52nd Fightere Wing at Spangdahlem AB, Federal Republic of Germany in 1994. It features historic serials and skins for the era
          Included
      A-10A_93, F-16C/D_B50, F-15C/D_91 aircraft
Sounds, effects and decals for all of the above
      Assorted Weapons
Special Fuel Tanks to allow selection from different aircraft.
          Installation
unzip, add contents of "2 Mod Folder" to the mod folder of your choice. allow overwrites
NOTE ON SPECIAL TANKS AND MIXED FLIGHTS
I HAVE SET UP A SERIES OF ROCKET/FUEL TANKS (MINUS THE ROCKETS) SO THAT FUEL TANKS OTHER THAN WHAT IS NATIVE TO THE AIRCRAFT CAN BE SELECTED, ALLOWING MIX FLIGHTS OF AIRCRAFT. THE TANKS FOR EACH AIRCRAFT IS IDENTIFIED BY A NUMBER AT FRONT (IE "370 GAL TANK") WHILE THE NON REGULAR ONES HAVE THE AIRCRAFT NAME IN FRONT (IE F-16 370 GAL TANK). THEY WILL APPEAR FOR THE MOST PART AT THE BOTTOM OF THE MENU SCROLL
IF YOU CHOOSE TO DO THIS, IT IS HIGHLY RECCOMENDED THAT YOU SELECT THE F-16C, THEN CHANGE TO THE F-15 OR A-10 IN THE LOADOUT MENU SCREEN ( flightname 1-1 IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE THE LEAD). THIS WILL ALLOW YOU TO USE ALL AVAILABLE WEAPONS, AS THE F-16 CAN CARRY ANYTHING THE A-10 OR F-15 CAN.

    7. IAR 80/81 REDUX PACK

      IAR 80/81 PACK.
I was not originally going to release this pack, as I was unsure of the reaction to a relativley unknown ( unfortunately ) Fighter. but after the relative success of the PZL's I uploaded last week, I though it would be nice to send these IAR's your way too. The IAR's were only ever used by the Romanians, and was in service until the early 50's so that in itself speaks volumes about this rather attractive aircraft.
Anyway, this is a slight rework of Pasko's IAR 80A and 81C, I have also included a <cough> alternative and completely "What if" IAR 80P I shall let you look and see at to what  THAT is all about !!!

So, the details, I have edited the original skins, and have reworked ALL the decals, I have added the stencilling as accurately as I could, but there maybe a few errors here and there in the actual positioning of them, as finding detailed pictures of the type is just not there. The stencilling is very sparse, so I think I have got it mainly right ( I hope !! ) I have updated the sounds, and the weapons loadouts, as for some unknown reason, the original bomb loadouts were wrong, So the 80A now carries ONLY 2, 50Kg bombs under the wings, and the 81C has the centreline 250Kg and 2, 50Kg under wing bombs. The 80P however has the original loadout, because why not, it is a "What if" innit hehehehehe. The "real" IAR's in this pack carry German weapons, and are armed with for the 80A 6,  7.9mm FN Brownings, and the 81C has 2 MG151 20mm,s and only 2 of the FN Brownings . The 90P's are armed with ITALIAN bombs, 50, 100, and 250 KG's and gun armament  comprises of 4,  Breda SAFAT 7.7 mm MG's and a pair of Breda SAFAT 12.7mm MG's.
All the markings have been replaced from the original ones, which I found too bright and "in yer face" and then I added on the differing markings from later years.
Everything is included in the pack, aircraft, decals, guns, pilots, weapons, and sounds. I have boxed everything up so it just a drag and drop kinda deal. One point though, please please PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE ensure that the  file  GunBarrel20mm is in the Pilots folder, or else you will end up with a very odd looking aircraft ( this is for the 81C. )  I also swapped out the Cockpit, as the faux Spitfire one looked awful, so it is now the YAK 9 one instead, not accurate, as all the dials are in Russian, but it does look better.............Well in my humble opinion it does at least. All the sounds I used are in the sounds folder, including the sounds for the guns.
That as they say, is a wrap.

I forgot to credit Starfighter, for the Yak Cockpit, apologies to him for that ommision.

      AS ALWAYS...........................ENJOY !!!

    8. SF2 TMF Mirage IIIC (AdA) Upgrade/Remod Pack

SF2 TMF Mirage IIIC (AdA) Upgrade/Remod Pack       2/21/2024
      -For SF2, Any and All-
This is a full upgrade/remod pack for The Mirage Factory's Dassault Mirage 3C series as used by the French Air Force. Included in this package are 2 complete versions of the Mirage IIIC:
      Mirage IIIC ("standard" usage)
      1) NMF - EC 1/2 Cigones
      2) AdA Blue - EC 2/10 Seine (<1975)
Mirage IIICi/SEPR (rocket boosted, single missile armed, no gun, interceptor)
      1) NMF only - EC 2/13 Alpes
They are set up and labeled to cause NO conflicts with the Mirage III's available as stock within the game or as a DLC from 3rd Wire. Everything needed is supplied, excepting those weapons used that are stock 3W items. Skins remain in their original bmp format. Each skin has 26 letter and number decals, and Decal Randomization is TRUE. Almost all markings are decals. The SF2 date switch is used on the standard IIIC, changing to the Air Defense Blue in 1975. For the most part, the skins are left 'attached' to the squadrons from when originally released 'way back when.
When in-game, on the Aircraft Selection Dropdown you'll see:
      Mirage IIIC (TMF)
      or
      Mirage IIIC/SEPR (TMF)
So you can't mistake them for anything else but TMF Birds (tm).
As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. All original readmes, when discoverable, are included. The 'Change Log' is, as always, in the Notes section below.

    9. Sentry '04: USAF E-3B/C's of the 552nd ACW and PACAF

SENTRY '04:  USAF E-3B/C's of the 552nd ACW and PACAF
Since 1976 the USAF has used the E-3 Sentry to control the air battlespace it finds itself in. Starting in 1995, the E-3 fleet began to recieve the Block 30/35 upgrade. These upgrades improved its communications, navigation, and electronic support equipment over the older versions. The most visible change was the ESM pods on the cheeks, and additional fairings on the chin and rear of the aircraft. These upgrades continued until the entire fleet was completed in fall of 2001.
This mod represents the E-3B/C fleet at a time of major restructuring, with the 552nd Air Control Wing having reduced to 3 squadrons and the two PACAF squadrons (961st AACS at Kadena and 962nd AACS at Elmendorf) operating 3 of each.
                  Included
This mod includes skin for the E-3B aircraft with fake pilot upgrades, skins and decals for all 5 squadrons active in 2004 as well as a 552nd ACW overall skin
                  Installation
unzip mod, add contents of "2 Mod Folder" to mod folder of your choice. allow overwrites
                  Known Issues
      - The Sentry aircraft pull hard to port (left) when taking off. This only occurs when the player is hand flying the aircraft, when  AI or autopilot flies this is not an issue
      - The cockpit is not a great match for the aircraft, however SF2 does not support any of their (E-3 or CT-49) original missions as player flyable and they were originally intended to be eye candy. Until we get a 3d modeller that wants to do a new E-3 or even 707 proper pit, this is how it will be.
                  Credits

    10. NovaLogic Terrains

      NovaLogic Terrains
      July 13th, 2021 (1st Release)
      by Menrva and gerwin

      >For Strike Fighters 2, Recommended Full-5 Merged
This package was born after the discovery of similarities between the terrain engine of Strike Fighters and that of NovaLogic's flight sims from the late nineties. Upon my initial idea, gerwin helped make it true with his incredible programming skills; without him, these terrains wouldn't even exist for use on Strike Fighters. This package features not one, not two, but all thirteen terrains converted from all NovaLogic's flight sims. Due to differences between game engines, these terrains are smaller in scale in Strike Fighters compared to how they are in NovaLogic's games. Here below a summary of what's included:
NL01_IslandGreen (Region: Meadow) from F-22 Lightning II
NL02_IslandSnowy (Region: Tundra) from F-22 Lightning II and F-22 Raptor
NL03_Desert1 (Region: Arid) from F-22 Lightning II and F-22 Raptor
NL04_Jungle1 (Region: Forest) from F-22 Lightning II and F-22 Raptor
NL04_Jungle2 (Region: Jungle) from F-16 Multirole Fighter and MiG-29 Fulcrum
NL05_Savannah1 (Region: Woodland) from F-22 Raptor
NL05_Savannah2 (Region: Savanna) from F-16 Multirole Fighter, MiG-29 Fulcrum and F-22 Lightning 3
NL06_Desert2A (Region: Brush) from F-22 Raptor
NL06_Desert2B (Region: Desert) from F-16 Multirole Fighter and MiG-29 Fulcrum
NL07_Steppe (Region: Steppe) from F-16 Multirole Fighter and MiG-29 Fulcrum
NL08_Scrub (Region: Scrub) from F-16 Multirole Fighter, MiG-29 Fulcrum and F-22 Lightning 3
NL09_Glacial (Region: Glacial) from F-16 Multirole Fighter, MiG-29 Fulcrum and F-22 Lightning 3
      NL10_IslandJungle (Region: Tropical) from F-22 Lightning 3
These terrains feature 500m resolution heightmaps and original low-res tilesets (tweaked for the Strike Fighters engine). Each terrain is meant to represent a generic region of the world. Nations are properly limited to ones coherent with each setting, and island terrains enable the use of naval fleets and aircraft carriers. As such, these terrains are meant to be used in a full-5 merged mod folder of all SF2 titles. At this stage very few target areas have been added to each terrain, providing basic support for all mission types, so just enjoy quick missions against the enemy; hopefully these terrains will be completed with more details one day.
About development, gerwin took care of reverse engineering NovaLogic's files and converting them to SF2 format, plus writing the tools for that. Me and him manually fixed most water alpha channels and adjusted colors in few tiles. Design choices such as target areas, routes, terrain height and surroundings, are mine; if you have any suggestions about this package, contact me.

      >Credits (in no particular order):
-gerwin, for converting these terrains to the Strike Fighters game engine and for expanding his awesome tools with new features. I included his very nice Airfield 7+8 Addon Pack, too.
-Wrench, for permission to upload this package which is based on outdated assets from old games.

      >Disclaimer:
This is a freeware; yet it can be redistributed ONLY in other CombatACE mods/mod packages.
Any changes to the package's files and/or any copy-and-paste attempts of their contents are NOT authorized if you plan to release them in other mods. But permission might be granted to those who request it to me at CombatACE.
This mod may NOT in any way, shape or form be used in any payware additions.

    11. PZL P11C REDUX

      PZL  P11C.

A makeover of Zur's P11C, redone skins, for 3 Polish and 2 Romanian aircraft, updated sounds, weapons and of course the pilot.
Everything is included in the file, Sounds ( including the one for the guns) Guns, Weapons, Pilot, and of course the Decals.
I was going to do Latvian, Hungarian, and Soviet skins, however as the Latvians and the Hungarians only had one aircraft each, I thought this rather pointless, as for the Soviets, they only had about four or five, I assume the Germans had a couple as well, but in reality, only Poland and Romania used the type operationally.
These are NOT the DAT/A-TEAM aircraft, they were originally done by ZUR for SF1, the DAT ones are a totally different model and LOD.

      As always...........ENJOY ....................

    12. Incoming Weapon Custom View

      Free/Incoming Weapon Custom View 1.0

This is a Viewlist.ini mod. Perhaps someone else have found out this trick, but here I share what I have done. It's a great modding tool as well.

      How to Use

      Copy VIEWLIST.INI into <your mod folder>/Flight

Press F9 for Weapon View (press F9 again to cycle multiple instances)

This is the Weapons View you had before, but you can zoom and pan freely. Great tool for weapon modders like me.

Press F10 for Tower View Incoming Weapon View (press F10 again to cycle more instances - if present)

Since I had to use WeaponInFlight instead of the non-working PlayerTarget entry, you can view any weapons that have been launched by anyone during mission. Missiles, bombs, rockets - as long as they have been launched but not yet impacted or self destructed upon the end of lifetime. Weapons launched both friendlies and enemies can be seen.

Example of usage: Upon "SAM Launch" message, press F10 as fast as possible to catch the launch moment of the incoming missile. Good if you want to practice evasion - or to feel pervert joy in seeing your enemies incinerated by friendly air defense systems.

    13. TMF F-14 Tomcat Super Pack v1.32

The Mirage Factory F-14 Tomcat Super Pack V1.32 22 APR, 2017

      What it is:
This is the F-14 Tomcat Super Pack v1.32 Full. It includes addition of Direct Lift Control to the Flight Model, AI AIM-54 Phoenix Missiles, modified Iranian F-14 loadouts and other minor adjustments.

      =================

      Installation:

      =====CAUTION=====
      1. This was tested at July 2013 patch level, on an "All 5 Merged" install, as well as a "vanilla" SF2:NA install. Because it uses AvionicsF14A.dll, will require at least SF2:NA (or a TW F-14) to work! It will not work on Gen 1 sims, nor will it work correctly on pre-April 2012 installs! (Caveat: Avionics70.dll F-14D should work on pre-April patch levels).

      2. It is HIGHLY recommended you back up your current F-14s to a back up folder. If you have extra skins installed and wish to keep your current folders, be ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN to delete the cockpit folders from each aircraft folder after backing up, as this install features updated cockpits, and retention of the old folders will lead to artifacting on the RWR, VDI, and other systems. If you have custom skins installed, be sure to back up your F-14(A/A+/B/D).ini to preserve the texture set data.
      =================

      1. Unzip the contents of the F-14SP_V132.7z file into a folder.

1a. If you have installed the Avionics70 F-14D, ensure you back up the .ini files if you haven't renamed the bird, since this install will overwrite F-14D_92, 96 and 06!

      2. Open your Strike Fighters 2 mod folder (e.g., C:\User\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Europe\...)

      3. CAUTION: (ONLY FOR PRE-v1.30 VERSIONS), DELETE THE PRE-1.30 COCKPIT FOLDERS!!! FAILURE TO DO SO WILL CAUSE ARTIFACTING ON THE VDI, HSD, RWR, AND POSSIBLY OTHER SYSTEMS!!!

3.a. IGNORE STEP 3 IF YOU ARE UPDATING v1.30 OR v1.31

      4. Copy the contents of the unzipped Effects, Flight, Missions, Objects, and Sounds folders into your SF2 mod folder, allowing all files to overwrite (Effects, Flight, Missions, Objects\Aircraft, Objects\Weapons, etc).

4a. (RECOMMENDED) Review the flight manual for tactical employment of the F-14.

      5. Go fly!

      NOTE:
If this either a new install or an update to the F-14SP v1.30 or 1.31, follow the above procedure, allowing all files to overwrite. If this is an update to 1.14-1.22, follow step 3; for in-depth instructions, follow the F-14SP V132 Installation Instructions.pdf

      =================

      EXTRAS:

-You may choose to use the Avionics70.dll F-14D for SAR mode on strike missions. If you wish to do so, see Section 6 of the F-14 SP Update V132 word document (Para 6.1-6.3) for install procedures and recommendations.

      =================

      18. Fixed ACM Panel (Crusader)
      19. Fixed F-14A_82 CAP loadout, which put the ALE-29/39 in the wrong location
      20. Fixed jettison point of ECA/EFA to forward Phoenix Station 6R to match installed location
      21. Changed skins to .jpeg format to significantly reduce size of mod without sacrificing detail
      22. Adjusted external tank fuel quantities to 1800 lbs/tank (maximum internal and external fuel together now matches real-world 19,800lbs, rather than over 20,000lbs).
      23. Adjusted engine thrust and Specific Fuel Consumption (SFC). The F110 had approximately 60% of the TF30’s SFC. The F110 was adjusted to lower SFC, while the TF30 was adjusted to increase SFC.

    14. Mirage F1CR standard F5/6

      Mirage F1CR F5/6 standard
When it became clear that the Mirage F1 was becoming a successful production aircraft, Dassault began investigating the possibility of a dedicated reconnaissance version for its most important client, the French Air Force. However, the escalating cost of fighter aircraft meant that add-on pods for this purpose were a more economical alternative. Many French Air Force aircraft, as well as those of some export clients (such as Iraq's Mirage F1EQ), did indeed have a variety of reconnaissance pods available, which were attached to the underside of the main fuselage. However, the development of a tactical reconnaissance aircraft for the French Air Force continued, and the first Mirage F1CR flew on 20 November 1981.
      F1CR F5/F6 standard specifics:
      Corail gondolas (P0 station)
RWR BF double wingtip position lights Thomson CSF RAPHAEL TH SLAR Side Looking Aiborne Radar Recon Pod (P1 Id on AMCP) ASTAC (Analyseur de Signaux TACtiques) ELINT pod (P3 Id on AMCP This addon is and will in all cases remain freeware.
      Released under CombatAce Fair-Use terms.
      Enjoy

    16. Tornado ECR/IDS Pack (Italian) V1.0

      ***************** Italian Tornado ECR/IDS Pack for SF2 V1.0 ************************

This pack contains 4 Italian Tornado aircraft with all the sounds, effects and weapons etc necessary for use. Although initially based on Dave, AD and Sundowners Tornado GR1/GR4 pack (in which I was involved) this pack includes new models, converted SF1 skins and improved ini's over the original GR1/GR4 release. It has been tested in both a Full Merged Nov '11 and a single SF2:E Nov '11 game with no problems found (not tested in SF1).

      Installation
      -------------

Unzip then copy and paste these folders into your Mod folder (usually C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 or whatever yours is called).

      ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Tornado AMI ECR '98 (1998-2020) - The SEAD/Electronic Warfare version of the Tornado IDS, this comes with a powerful Built-In ECM jammer than the IDS and no Cannons.

Tornado AMI IDS '04 (2004-2020) - This is the Mid-Life Update for the IDS which gives it precision weapons like 1000lb JDAM, GBU-12/16/24, Storm Shadow Stand-Off Missile and post '06 the IRIS-T. It also has a secondary function in an Anti-Ship/SEAD role allowing it to carry the new AGM-88D HARM and Kormoran 2 ASM.

Tornado AMI IDS '79 (1981-2003) - The standard IDS for the AMI it carries fairly limited payload types to just Dumb bombs upto 1000lb MK83 and the Kormoran ASm in the Anti-Ship role.

Tornado AMI IDS Op Locusta '91 (1991 Op Desert Storm) - A Gulf War version of the IDS, it is a basic AMI IDS '81 but with a Sand Paint scheme.

      OTHER INFO
      -----------

      Loadout Screen -
      --------------

As per the Other Tornado German/GR1/GR4 packs most of the defensive pods & A-A missiles are combined in Weapons group 1 so please don't use the in-game loadout screen to change anything in Group 1.

      Issues -
      ------
Just a limited weapons loadout for the AMI IDS '81, similar to the Luftwaffe setup, until the '04 Update which introduce much more variety.

    17. SF2 P-51D/K Mustang by Crisis Remod Pack

SF2 P-51D/K Mustang by Crisis Remod Pack       1/28/2024
      -For SF2, Any and All-
      Another 1stGen Salvage Project...
This is an SF2 Remod of P-51D Mustang by crisis. Historically this was one of the first aircraft mods released for SF1 in approx 2008. While the model still has some issues (see "Notes"), it's fully functional, and has been upgraded for the SF2 environment. I believe this will be a complimentary aircraft for the stock 3W Mustang (and others).
This mod is supplied with just about all the original skin sets I could find from the 1stGen SF mods section and from Marcfighters archive. Unfortunately, several were not up to snuff, with inaccurate coloration, or had painted-on markings that make it impossible to allow the use of the superb 3W decal system. Therefore several, while replicating the originals, are new builds. These were made from a new template, and it is included. These skin sets cover US Army Air Force (WW2 ETO), USAF (post-war), Korean War units for the USAF, RoKAF, SAAF, and Israeli Air Force directly post-WW2 and during the 1956 Suez Crisis.. Several of the included skins make use of decal sets I created for other mods, as you all know how I hate to waste good decals!!! :)
      You will find herein ...
      USAAF/USAF:
362nd FS,357th FG (ETO) -1944 start date (NMF)
375th FS, 361st FG (ETO) -Sept, 1944 start date (Camo/NMF/Invasion Stripes under wing/fues)
"USAFSilver", Generic NMF -10/1947 start date
12th FBS, 18th FBG (Korea) -1950 start date
      SAAF:
2 Sqdn, SAAF "Flying Cheetahs" -1950 start date
      IDFAF:
No.101 Sqdn (NMF) -1948 start date
No.116 Sqdn Blue/Brown Camo (1956<) -Suez Crisis camo scheme
      RoKAF:
51st PFS* (ROKAF) -Korean War. #18 is Col. Dean Hess' aircraft, with nose art
      *=Provisional Fighter Squadron
98.6% of the markings are decals, with some small exceptions (see notes). Decal randomization is TRUE.
While many skins had to be remade, some are still 'as issued' (un-retouched). All remain in bmp format. As is usual, serial numbers & 'plane in squadron letters' (WW2 & Korea) are as historically accurate as possible. Those fully 100% matched are marked with the star (*), those correct, but unable to match to a individual code letter are marked with the plus/cross (+), those with no mark are generic.
For those units listed in the game's SquadronList ini, my (patent pending) 'fake SqTail' decal is used to activate their name displayed on the Loadout screen. The SF2 'date switch' is used for all services on their respective skin sets.
Sounds and drop tanks are included. All weapons used are also included. If you End Users (tm) have the SF2I expansion that adds the Mustang and WW2 era weapon, feel free to edit the loadout ini to use those stock in-game 3rd Wire items. The data ini has been brought up, as much as possible, to current standards. The FM test drives as fully compatable with SF2.
      When in-game, you'll see
      P-51D/K Mustang (cr)
on the Aircraft Selection dropdown. This "(cr)" will differenize this one from the 3rd Wire or Wolf357's (and variations thereof). This mod DOES (sorta) cover both the D & K variants, as there's very little (actual) difference between them (one built in Inglewood, CA -D; the other in Dallas, TX -K; albeit with a different prop). Canopy acutation uses the Standard Animation Keystroke (tm), Shift/0.
As is always reccomended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. Also, give the "Notes" a browse, as it explains certain issues this model has, and the change logs.
      Good Hunting and Happy Landings!

    20. [What If] RAF '43. Early jet madness.

What if ... RAF went 'full jet' much earlier?
Basic modding skills are required to run this mod.  (copy/paste, mod folder structure, etc.)
      Install:
Copy and paste specific folders into the correct destination.
A fake pilot is required to run this mod. Also, the Thirdwire Meteor cockpit is required from the original game.
Fuel tanks- Overwrite or just leave it. 100 gal tank is the original TW tank. You can overwrite or just simply do not copy.
      175 gal tank also.
Tanks are just ini files. The mod uses tanks that are part of aircraft lod.

After successful trials of Meteor F.1 Ministry of Defense urged the Gloster company to increase the speed of production. How financing this enormous effort was possible until today is a mystery, that can not be revealed until the year 2375 - due to a secret agreement. But rumors are that behind that substantial loan was the First Bank of Commerce of Ferenginar. But this is a quite different story that we should not discuss here.
MoD sent requirements for the development of special versions. Gloster at that time focused on the F.3 variant. But having prepared airframes and finally a large stock of Rolls-Royce Dervent I, the company decided to put what they had together resulting in Meteor F.1b  which was an upgraded F.1 variant with modifications known from the upcoming F.3 model.
Meanwhile, the company took the development of a fighter-reconnaissance version resulting in the FR.2 Meteor equipped with elongated nose with recon cameras. FR.2 was powered by an uprated engine- Derwent II.  Also, the high altitude variant marked as HF.5 received longer span wings and an uprated newly developed Derwent 4 jet engine. The fuselage was reworked by increasing the height of the fuselage right after the canopy which allowed it to fix slightly bigger internal fuel tanks. Only 26 HF.5 were built.
Knowing that Gloster can not afford to work on all MoD requirements some of the work was moved to other companies. Armstrong-Withworth focused on the development of a radar-equipped night fighter version - NF.6. In this model AW installed a Bristol-made turret with four 20mm Hispano cannons. Additionally, two 20mm cannons were installed in the wings. This version was powered by engines initially installed in the HF.5 variant. Which already had better performance at higher altitudes.
DeHavilland took the mantle of developing a fighter bomber variant. Based on HF.5 but with shorter wings FB.3 was delivered in the middle of 1943. This variant was equipped with 4 bomb racks under the fuselage. Since DeHavilland made a significant amount of changes in the airframe by strengthening the airframe, received permission to change the name of the aircraft - and there where Banshee was born. Only 24 fighter-bombers Banshee FB.3 were built before switching to production of full-grown fighter-bomber variant FB.5.
At the same time remaining airframes and long-span wings were put together into the photo reconnaissance variant PR.4. which was still in fact development of the HF.5 variant. Full fighter bomber variant FB.5 was ready two months later. Knowing that FB.3 had serious issues with drag when loaded with bombs, DeHavilland redesigned the central part of the aircraft and equipped FB.5 with an internal bomb bay. Additionally, FB.5 had a remote-controlled turret. Nose contained similar to FB.3 weaponry - four 20mm Hispano canons and four 0.303 cal Browning machine guns. In further development, FB.5 could carry specially made for small bomb containers, additional fuel packs in a bomb bay, or 57mm canon which was required for Coastal Command variant - FB.5C. Coastal Command additionally equipped its Banshees with ASV mkVII surface radar. Based on the FB.5C variant Fairey Company developed the torpedo fighter Banshee TF.6 - where the main difference is the lack of an internal bomb bay but with a semi-recessed belly to accommodate Mk.12 torpedo. All FB.5 and TF.6 were equipped with a new jet engine  a joint Rolls-Royce DeHavilland program - which resulted in Hobgoblin 2 and Derwent 5 engines

      Special note:
TF.6 /FB.5c - you will find that loading a QF6 57mm cannon Mk.12 torpedo is possible on both birds - this is just a 'fake weapon station' that allows choosing your wingman to fly FB.5c and still have the possibility to load a full range of weapons for second aircraft.

All skins are in 4096x4096 format.
I Made a bunch of decals covering all real serial numbers of Banshee and Meteor
Also, the RAF letters folder should be added to the Decals folder I know it is big but it gives slightly better quality with still a small file size. If you have already my RAF letters from the real Meteor pack - you can overwrite them - this adds a few more variations of letters.

There are many reasons why I have made things in this mod the way they are...versions, skins, and decals. A lot to explain but I doubt anyone wants to read about it anyway.
Pack is big..but I think you will see why it is, the way it is.
      Credits.
Veltro2k  - the original old model of t7
Yours truly  -  model rework, mambo jumbo like skins, decals, research...

Pilots - RAF pilot by Geezer
I used Ravenclaw's weapons - bombs and rockets (those that are required due to stated in loadout.ini)
The rest are done by me.
This model is designed/checked only to work with Ravenclaw's rockets and bombs - so there might be some strange positioning in other (stock - often oversized) weapons.

During the creation of squadron patches, I might have used the wrong crown on squadron crests. (according to the squadron timeframe)Gaffe indeed.  All should have St. Edward's Crown but I am aware that some have Tudor Crown. It is not out of ignorance ...Hope this small faux pas can be forgiven.
      Have fun.
      Report bugs. *
      Expect the unexpected.
      Live long and prosper.

THIS MODEL IS ONLY TO BE DISTRIBUTED AS FREEWARE AND IN NO OTHER CIRCUMSTANCE SHALL IT BE USED, EVEN IN PART OF ANYTHING THAT IS PAYWARE.
UNDER THE COMBAT ACE MODDERS AGREEMENT

      * report BIG bugs...If I misspelled something or forgot to add a sound file...for dog's sake try to fix it.  Not like this mod is using some ancient or extraterrestrial files..

    21. Lockheed NF-104A for SF2

Lockheed NF-104A for Strike Fighters 2

In 1963, three ex-USAF F-104As (56-756, -760, and -762) were taken out of storage at Davis Monthan AFB and modified as NF-104A aerospace training aircraft. All of the military equipment was removed and the original F-104A vertical fin was replaced by the larger fin that was used on the F-104G. The wingspan was increased by four feet (to 25.94 feet) and a set of hydrogen peroxide control thrusters were mounted at the nose, tail, and wingtips. A 6000 pound thrust Rocketdyne LR121/AR-2-NA-1 auxiliary rocket engine was mounted on the tail above the jet exhaust pipe. This rocket engine could be throttled from 3000 to 6000 pounds of thrust, and the burn time was about 105 seconds.

The first NF-104A was delivered on October 1, 1963, with the other two following a month later. They were operated by the Aerospace Research Pilot School at Edwards AFB, which was commanded at that time by Colonel Charles E. "Chuck" Yeager.

On December 6, 1963, the first NF-104A set an unofficial world altitude record of 118,860 feet for aircraft taking off under their own power. The official record at that time was 113,829 feet, set by the Mikoyan/Gurevich Ye-66A, an experimental version of the MiG-21 Fishbed. Later, the same NF-104A flown by Major R. W. Smith reached an altitude of 120,800 feet.

On December 10, 1963, the second NF-104A (56-762), with Chuck Yeager at the controls, went out of control at an altitude of 104,000 feet and fell in a flat spin to 11,000 feet. Yeager managed to eject successfully at that altitude, although he was badly burned on his face by the rocket motor of his ejector seat. The aircraft was destroyed in the ensuing crash. An investigation later showed that the cause of the crash was a spin that resulted from excessive angle of attack and lack of aircraft response. The excessive angle of attack was not caused by pilot input but by a gyroscopic condition set up by the J79 engine spooling after shut down for the rocket-powered zoom climb phase. So it wasn't Chuck's fault.

In June of 1971, the third NF-104A, with Capt. Howard C. Thompson at the controls, suffered an inflight explosion of its rocket motor. Although Thompson was able to land safely, the aircraft's rocket motor and half its rudder were blown away. Since the program was about to end in any case, this aircraft was retired.

The number one NF-104A is currently on display on top of a pylon in front of the USAF Test Pilot School.
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      IMPORTANT!!!
You need SF2E to have the stock F-104G and SFP1 for the cockpit files.
or follow these precious instructins: http://combatace.com/topic/57393-flyable-f-104s-for-sf2
Another thing... there are some minor differences between SFP1 and SF2E models and one of these is a bit different mapping on the nose. So it will be included an optional SFP1 f-104_2.bmp file.
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      Pilot Notes:

-The rocket engine is set to use "Thrust vectoring" as a throttle control to permit separate control from the jet engine. The rocket will operate only with afterburning regime and with only 2 stages, half and full power. From idle to military it will not generate thrust and so will not affect fuel consumption.

-This plane is equipped with hydrogen peroxide Reaction Control System like the real plane. To engage the system simply throttle the rocket a bit over idle.
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      Installation:

Simply copy all the files in the respective directory of your game folder.

    22. SF2 F-15 Eagle Super Pack Redux 2018

This is a full stand-alone pack, no other mod packs are required. This pack is a REPLACEMENT and NOT an upgrade for FastCargo's F-15 Super Pack. You cannot simply install and over-write Fastcargo's F-15 Super Pack with this pack. 23. SF2 A-1H/J Skyraider (mcz) Remod Pack by MontyCZ

SF2 A-1H/J Skyraider (mcz) Remod Pack by MontyCZ       1/8/2024
      -For SF2, Any and All-
      Another 1stGen Salvage Project...
This is an SF2 Remod of MontyCZ's A-1H Skyraider. Historically this was the VERY first aircraft mod released for SF1 in 2005. While the model still has some issues (see "Notes"), it's fully functional, with some limitations, in the SF2 environment.
This mod is supplied with just about all the original (many rebuilt) skin sets I could find from the 1stGen SF mods section and from Marcfighters. These skin sets cover US Navy, US Air Force and South Vietnam Air Force units.
      You have ...
      USN:
VA-35 "Black Panthers" USS Saratoga, 1959 Med cruise, (Beirut crisis?)
VA-52 "Kinghtriders" USS Ticonderoga, 1966-67 VN cruise
VA-65 "Tigers" USS Intrepid, 1960-61 Med Cruise
VA-75 "Sunday Punchers" USS Independence, mid-1962 SEA-VN cruise
VA-145 "Swordsman" USS Ranger 1958-59 WesPac (tagged "VA145E")
VA-176 "Thunderbolts" USS Intrepid, VN cruise 1966-ish (bumblebee art)
      VNAF:
1st FS, Bien Hoa, 1961 (VNAF1 - overall very light grey, blue/red devil fues band )
514th FS, Dan Nang ~1963 (VNAF2 - overall medium grey, tiger stripe fues band)
518th FS, Bien Hoa AB ~1970 (VNAF3 - 3 tone SEA camo, yellow/black checks fues band)
      USAF:
602nd SOS, 56th SOW (various RVN & Thai bases 1962-1970)
2nd SOS, 56th SOW (nite black unders, ~1968)
There is also an extra blank USN skin called, oddly enough, "USNGrey1" This can be used to create any other units as one desires in the Gull Gray/White scheme.
The texture set ini for each skin has a small notation at the bottom with historical notes.
While many skins had to be remade, some are still 'as issued' (un-retouched). All are in bmp format. As is usual, serial/BuNums are as historically accurate as possible. Those 100% are marked with the star (*), those correct, but unable to match to a modex are marked with the plus/cross (+), those with no mark are generic. All skins have been updated to use the last known LOD (5/2009), and have been updated to use the latest decal style. Decal randomization is TRUE. For those units listed in the game's SquadronList ini, my (patent pending) 'fake SqTail' decal is used to activate their name displayed on the Loadout screen. The SF2 'date switch is used for all services on their respective skin sets. Sounds and drop tanks are included. All weapons used are stock in-game 3rd Wire items. The data ini has been brought up, as much as possible, to current standards.
      When in-game, you'll see
      A-1H/J Skyraider (MCZ)
on the Aircraft Selection dropdown. This will differenize this one (MontyCZ) from the 3rd Wire or Razbam Skyraiders. This mod DOES (sorta) cover both the H & J variants, as there's very little (actual) difference between them. The wing fold is active, it uses the Standard Animation Keystroke (tm), Shift/9. The canopy CANNOT manually be controled; it's linked to the flaps.
As is always reccomended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. Also, give the "Notes" a browse, as it explains certain issues this model has, and the change logs.
      Good Hunting and Happy Landings!

    24. Shenyang J-7(Type-62) Fighter prototype silver

I tried my best to find the correct fonts, this is the most similar fonts
“毛主席万岁” is means "Long live Chairman Mao"
On 17th January 1966 the first Shenyang-built J-7 Fishbed made its maiden flight at the hands of Ge Wenrong(葛文镛)
If you haven't downloaded my J-7, it doesn't matter. It can still be used by throwing it into the folder of MiG 21F-13

    25. SF2 night vision camera

      Night vision camera
      =================
OK. This solution is not perfect, but a wile better than anything we've had so far.
All you need to do , is to replace the entry in the AVIONICS.INI file and add textures.
Pls, test it and let me know your opinion.
      INSTALLATION
      =============
Just replace entry of DTVFilterMaterial in your AVIONICS.INI
and put TV Filters in Objects/Aircraft.
You can change color of filter by editing this line in AVIONICS.INI:
      TextureStage[01].TextureName=..\ORANGETVFILTER.JPG

      CREDITS
      =======
It's my final solution for this problem , but it is development
of millions (trials) we did with ODS30 team to solve this problem.
