5 pointsSome fun experiments with Stary's generic WW2 cockpits and the move instruments trick. As he says, "Rivet counters and/or WW2 experts please note that these cockpits do NOT represent any specific real-life models/variants, so if you seek for ultimate realism in modelling this pack is NOT for you." But, sometimes, they give a more similar view from a cockpit, as far as cockpit framing goes, than using a stock cockpit, which was their purpose. By using the move trick, you can remove guns, etc., to get more use from them. Here, they're applied to a P-51b and a Malcom hooded P=51. Like me, they're far from perfect, but they give a more similar view, framing wise, than using a stock P-51d cockpit. I know most won't like them, but I do. Thanks, Stary.

5 pointsI made one for myself. Not really much work. One red airfield, one blue airfield, and carrier zones. Thats it. Here an other screenshot. MiG-21 takes off from Burevestnik Aerodrom. MiG-21 strikes Nakashibetsu Airfield.

2 pointsnext, a sample of the load out and pilot screens, thinking of making the backgrounds less generic and more tailored for each aircraft, the screens below that are an ace combat inspired menu screen and a hanger screen for an F-14 though again, im thinking of using coloured in game stills so the skin is shown
-
2 pointsFor me it is rather a terrain for Minsk vs Tarawa, AV-8 Harriers vs Yak-38. But MiG-21 vs japanese F-4EJ would be possible too. Its only the problem, that strike missions or SEAD is always against the ships, never against the land bases. Screenshot: Approach to Kurils.

2 pointsWe have a Kurils map? With the Russian islands? Mandatory screenshot...

2 pointsI love how much you get into your subject, Geezer. You love your details, that's why your work is so good.
-
2 pointsI stopped being lazy and got out some of my references. I found some digital RGB numbers for French camo colors, so I can alter the camo when I resume work on the R11. I also found out that horizon-blue was frequently used as a primer on many metal fittings. BUT, not all manufacturers used horizon-blue as a primer, so the variation in museum restorations would seem to be historically accurate! I still don't know if Caudron used horizon-blue, or some other color.

1 pointIf you want the best weapons, performance and avionics go for the A-4N from the A-4N Ahit Pack 2.0. It is fully integrated into the stock Yom Kippur War campaign provided you install the A-4E/H/F Ahit upgrade/ Enhancement for SF2 1.0 first. Even if you stick with the A-4H or A-4E the Enhancement pack will give you a far more historically accurate aircraft. Again they are fully integrated into the stock Yom Kippur War campaign. Make sure you install the A-4E/H/F Ahit upgrade/ Enhancement first, then the A-4N Ahit pack and override all files as you go.

1 pointWell done, Geezer, VonS and Quack74!!! The work you have displayed for us here looks amazing! The Pfalz D.III and D.IIIa looks expecially sweet to me since they are two of my absolute favorite WWI aircrafts. :) Thanks for doing this, guys! It's really appreciated! :D

1 pointI'm sorry, I didn't have time to edit my message. You see, I like stylization under "developers standards", this is why I made screen black and white. But an idea with "old movie" stylization is not bad too. Then, if to see from both hands, they are the same because developers style on loading screens is "old movie". You are right, my friend. Thank you that you noticed it.

1 pointgood job! IIRC, that's how I got started in modding! After several thousand hangar screens..... my only suggestion is to make the aircraft smaller, so it won't cover up the "mission" text. On this style hangar screen, I usually use somewhere around 40% opacity for the drop shadow (see below for example, albeit for SF2)
-
1 pointI agree with Heck, please make more hangar screens and upload them! (I like the shadow on the DFW better than the shadow on the Albatros.) Congratulations on getting your technical issues worked out, I admire your persistence.

1 pointWhat do you think of these new hangar screens? They are not bad, aren't they? (Made by me myself, with instruction in this WOE-styled hangars archive) Should I make a screen for Salmson 2 and upload all them here, on combatace?

1 pointAlso been tinkering with the Caudron R11, and have a question for experts on French WW1 camo. Note the metal fittings in the shot of the M-S Type AI - is the blue-gray paint typical?

SF2 F-104 Starfighter Super Mega Pack 2016 v3.5 By Viper63a et al! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BOTH SF2E AND DLC28 ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS MOD! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE1: If you already downloaded version 3.1, you just need to download and install the patch to upgrade from version 3.1 to 3.5 Please read the Read Me in the Patch file. NOTE2: This mod WILL replace stock F-104s and may conflict with any other F-104 mod you may have installed - SO BACK UP unless you crave drama! SF2 Europe (merged or not) and DLC28 is REQUIRED, REALLY. If you don't have these, this mod will not work for you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After flying FastCargo's excellent "Classified Mission Mod (Version 1.1)" pack, I got re-introduced to the F-104 Starfighters. So take a look at FastCargo's mod in the link below. Some install work is required, but well worth it.... http://combatace.com/files/file/11458-classified-mission-mod-version-11/ Firstly - I take NO CREDIT for the work contained in this pack. I made some of them better (All new skins, decals...etc), but I was not the creator. I am just a reflection of the excellent work that can be found here in CA. So here is my humble contribution to the collective. Thank you all for your mod packs! What's in this pack? In a nutshell, I downloaded some F-104 mods to check out the 104s (turned into downloading almost ALL of them, two of the best being Wrench's DLC28 F-104 Pack and MigBusters "Thirdwire F-104A/C Pack 1 1.0 " pack. Then added a bunch of other packs that caught my eye. There were lots of conflicts, broken decal links, leaking LODs...etc etc...So I started merging - fixing - reskinning - re-decaling and generally upgrading all the packs into one merged and hopefully easier to install pack. This is my "Best of the breed" F-104 Super Pack and I thought you may like a copy. Again, SF2E and DLC28 are REQUIRED, but other than that, everything else is in this pack to start flying the F-104 Starfighters. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This pack includes F-104 skins, new pilots, hanger, loading, loadout, decals and everything else you need to start flying the F-104s... My StrikeFighter2 mod on Win97 64-bit was..(yours may be different)... C:\Users\<your_id>\Saved Games\Thirdwire\StrikeFighter2... Original "Readmes" are in the Extra folder with some other goodies... Enjoy! =Viper= ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Special Thanks! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I would like to take a minute and thank these people for taking the time to contact me with fixes, upgrades and assistance to make this a better package! THANKS! KJakker - Major help with upgrading the cockpits! Thanks! Fanatic Modder for his assistance, INI files and corrections! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Credits: Used alot, parts or refereneced the packs below... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Classified Mission Mod (Version 1.1) - FastCargo http://combatace.com/files/file/11458-classified-mission-mod-version-11/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thirdwire F-104A/C Pack 1 - MigBuster http://combatace.com/files/file/15243-thirdwire-f-104ac-pack-1/ 3rd Wire for the F-104 Models and pits Skins / new Decals & Flight Model changes: MiGbuster IR Sensor: Spillone Cockpit grey repaint files: Ordway Templates based on previous work: Paulopanz/Spillone/Soulfreak/Ianapa Other decals and previous ini edits: WRENCH & USAFMTL Dave Fake pilot mod: FastCargo ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SF2 DLC #28: F-104A Starfighter, Pakistani Air Force - Wrench SF2 DLC #28: F-104A Starfighter Skins Pak, Part 2 - Wrench SF2 DLC #28: F-104C (61) Starfighter Skins/Ini Pak, Part 1 - Wrench SF2 DLC #28: F-104C (66) Starfighter Skins/Ini Pak, Part 2 - Wrench http://combatace.com/files/file/14664-sf2-dlc-28-f-104a-starfighter-pakistani-air-force/ http://combatace.com/files/file/14671-sf2-dlc-28-f-104a-starfighter-skins-pak-part-2/ http://combatace.com/files/file/14674-sf2-dlc-28-f-104c-61-starfighter-skinsini-pak-part-1/ http://combatace.com/files/file/14675-sf2-dlc-28-f-104c-66-starfighter-skinsini-pak-part-2/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- F-104A Pack - Spillone104 F-104C Pack 1.1 - Spillone104 http://combatace.com/files/file/13082-f-104a-pack/ http://combatace.com/files/file/13083-f-104c-pack/ Original F-104A: Ajunaidr Added 3D parts and Fuel Tanks: Spillone104 Textures : Spillone104 and Paulopanz Decals : USAFMTL (Dave) and Paulopanz Fake pilot mod: FastCargo INIs : Spillone104 Effects : Spillone104 Sounds : Spillone104 Beta testers : Starfighter2 and Paulopanz ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lockheed NF-104A for SF2 - Spillone104 http://combatace.com/files/file/11594-lockheed-nf-104a-for-sf2/ Added 3D parts: Spillone104 Textures : Spillone104 with great Bobrock templates.
