6 pointsMy Windsock Data File of the Berg D.1 arrived yesterday, so I spent today tinkering with "accurate" colors. The problem with Austro-Hungarian camo schemes is that almost no reliable information has survived the last 100 years. My 2002 edition of Austro-Hungarian Army Aircraft of World War One deleted the color camo illustrations found in the original 1993 edition because few of the colors could be reliably authenticated. The Windsock Data File has a color photo of a Berg D.1 rudder that has survived, and its colors are less saturated (less vivid) than most of the color references found on the internet. Granted the color pigments have oxidized in the last 100 years, but even so the colors are quite dull and unsaturated. So.....I spent a couple of hours tinkering with my artwork to better reflect the sample shown in the Data File.

Reworked pack of F-101A and C VooDoo. Generally old good VooDoo in new dresses. There are some small changes in data.ini files mostly in weapon stations section - so Backup your original file. You might not like it. Despite VooDoo is extremely sexy aircraft it is much useless. Unfortunately. It was designed to be something different but had to serve in a totally different role. Nuclear Strike Aircraft. Because I'm always doing mods my way - to fit my needs. I wanted to have squadrons that used "fighting 101". So the thing is...this is one aircraft - because squadrons contained a mix of A and C versions and this aircraft had very limited use I decided to make one aircraft to cover both A and C version. By default, I used A version limits. Anyway, differences were only in the internal structure of airframe. Airframe 54-1491 served as CO aircraft in 27th TFW. So in the early sixties, it will pop up in special markings for 78th, 91st, and 92nd squadrons. If you want separate aircraft A and C you will have to do it on your own. Decals/serials for C are marked in numbers.lst with 'dot' . All new skins in 3072x3072 resolution. New bump maps and specular maps. also in 3072.. plus decals to cover A and C models serial numbers. Pack contains 11 skin sets for early use by 27th TFW and then 81st TFW - all squadrons that ever used F-101A / C (from different time periods to cover years of usage). All new decals consisting of 95 serial numbers for block 20-35 of A version and block 40-55 for C version. Backup your original F-101 Folders. Also Decals! Pack also includes the Mk.7 Tactical Nuclear Bomb. New model quickly made for purposes of this pack. And an extra thing for squadron/wing geeks - set of skins for squadron hack. Credits: Original models ErikGen yakarov - skins / decals / some small ini tweak / Mk.7 model Soulfreak - original skin for an extra thing. Have Fun. May the VooDoo be with you. Jarek Hereda -

2 pointsHi whiteknight06604, Thank you for your kind words, yes, I am planning on doing just that, but I am not good with modeling soldiers so I will see what I can do. if someone has a low poly model and can share it that will be great. otherwise, I just need to learn how to do it.

1 pointWell it's winter...was snowing last few days. Seriously. As always I needed to tweak something here and there... so few clicks and ini editing, and I have 3 seasons imported from Korea terrain. Well, it was more than clicks as I needed to re-create new tiles for some areas, made few changes and a few new tiles.

1 pointWOI with the expansion pack was just short of being SF2I. Much of the code going into the first SF2 release went into WoI, its patches, and its expansion. WoI with the expansion pack provides a unique situation: it can import the 3d models and textures of the stock aircraft from the early SF2 releases and it also supports multiplayer. However, there were still plenty of bugs in the final patched version which TK never addressed. So, if you don't notice or mind the remaining bugs, it is the most advanced version of the SFP1/WoX series, just short of SF2.

1 pointGood point. That would be nice if the terrain came with that. I could always make it June 2020 for that reason alone.

1 point27 Jan. 2019 update: I'm not able to put in a lot of work into this every day, but decided to remove most of the SAM sites from Kunashir Island. I recognize how hard @Gepardworked on the Kuril Islands, but having SA-10s remain on the map so close to Hokkaido Island after an emergency SEAD mission doesn't work for me. You can download the original here: Otherwise, I went into the code and have done my best to remove the SAM sites & SAM shelters from just Kunashir Island. The thinking being I'm pretty sure in a <24 Hour campaign; the AAA won't all be easily eliminated but this way I will only have SA-10s keep harassing jets on take-off & final approach to Hokkaido Island when I the single mission pack creator want them to. After all, most of the air combat is around Kunashir or in the Sea of Okhotsk. With that, some screenshots of the JASDF F-35As storming Kunashir Island to take out the one test SA-10 site & some of the support units I put up in the mission planner: So yes, there is operational testing still underway. Mainly to test the modified map code and relocated SAM sites... to destruction.

1 point@Strikeagle - as with many other sims, for me it's the mods that make Il-2 '46, and thanks mostly to Mission4Today there's more than enough missions and campaigns to get the most from it, albeit outside of WW2 it's overtaken by other sims. SF would have made a very good basis for a WW2 sim, just like it did for WW1 with FE1 and 2, if it had the same quantity and quality of 3d models and textures, maps and campaigns for WW2 as Il-2 '46; but it's not close, so that's that. IL-2 '46 for me is now by a wide margin the best all round WW2 combat flight sim (mods included, there's no point looking at it any other way). With BoB2 still the best simulation of the Battle by about the same considerable margin. Confirmed, CFS3 + ETO expansion has several flyable Blenheims, bomber and fighter, in MkI and MkIV versions: @alienjb42 - yeah I just flew that mission which had 110s masquerading as bombers. That storyline's slightly shaky credibility was stretched to breaking point when the debrief had the post mission chatter crediting the 110s with having 'totally outmatched' the Hurricane (plus saying the German had the 110s and the Defiants - presumably that second 'they've' should have been 'we've', preferably with apostrophes where they should be!). During the mission, the skies were red - with the R/T chatter's text display, which will drive me bonkers if I can't limit or supress it, never mind it's repetitive and refuses to use realistic terms like 'bandit' instead of 'enemy' or 'Leader' instead of 'Commander'. The best I could manage was a 110 damaged... ...at the cost of a windscreen that'll need a bit of attention... The 110 kept obligingly pulling up steeply towards my level again, after each time he went down under fire... Despite trailing glycol or fuel or both, when I ran out of rounds and let him go after a few more roller-coaster efforts, he flew off, level this time, after his distant mates, west up the middle of the Channel, not directly back to base never mind the shortest route back to terra firma. It's like the AI has a fixation with flying its waypoints regardless of being left completely behind everyone else and 50% damaged, as the post-mission stats informed me. Realism isn't just about the accuracy or otherwise of flight and 3d models, it's also about having hedgerows not just tree-rows in SE England and something resembling realistic missions, enemy formation sizes and radio voice procedure. In that respect, CloD's a long way behind Battle of Britain 2, but having settled that in my own mind, I'll carry on with the campaign and see if it can continue to hold my interest, despite the blip in the latest mission

1 pointSONO TORNATO!

1 pointone question please. do you plan on making the D30 as a separate ground object set up in the firing position with a crew? just curious because we can never have enough ground targets. your vehicles so far have been great. thank you.

1 pointAnd one more post for this thread regarding the ver. 9.7 update . Have now re-tweaked all of the Fokk. D.7 data inis for more subtle altitude table data numbers and subtler variations for control surfaces, also combed over the Dr.1 variants too and re-did the alt. table numbers, as well as re-touched the control surfaces, also for the Fokk. D.8. Alt. table data numbers are slightly more refined now than previously for the rotaries, with intervals of about 700 instead of the original 900 meters between power drops...should work well for the Oberursels and gives them about 50-60% of total power at their ceilings, as was typical for many WWI engines, rotaries and inlines (no power curves here dropping to zero as for later piston aircraft but more of a stepped decrease until the alt. ceiling is hit). Will take a short break now before looking over the Aviatik, SAML, and Anatra C.1 - then I have to package everything carefully by folder - hopefully this will all be released by Feb. or March. The packaging is often slower than the modding. Pics below of the OAW Fokk. D.7 and another classic that I need to fly more often since it's so much fun. (The OAW variant is a fine aircraft by the way - it can hold its own although with less power at alts. than the 7f variant...I think Mikael Carlson's D.7 has the 180hp (au) Mercedes typical of the OAW builds.) 1 pointJust completed a low poly D-30 to add to the MT-LB model. I just need to make some ammo boxes to put on top of the MT-LB. I will have the D-30 as a separated model too.

1 pointAdjusted the tints of the colors to simulate a vintage look. May fool around a bit more, but it is close to a balance between "accurate" color and atmospheric color.

1 pointalright then, now it's clear. Without Direct X 9.0c you are screwed, the game won't work at all. But, if you wanna have both "worlds" scrubb the Win 10 (in my opinion is not better than Win 7 , it's a Win 7 in it's core , NT nucleus and such, and it doesn't do things better than Win 7, it's just a illusion that it does. Trust me I know what I am talking about) and reinstall the Win 7 64x. I also can play ANY new game I like with Win 7, so...why not having it and play the SF1/SF2 series, eh ? Give it try, you won't regret it.

This is a fix pack for my "SF2:NA US Stock Ships Data File Mod/Update 1.0" located at the link below. http://combatace.com/files/file/14561-sf2na-us-stock-ships-data-file-modupdate/ When I uploaded the US Stock Ships Data File Update pack I accidentally packed up some of my second to last file versions instead of the final variants I intended to upload. This Fix Pack contains the adjustments that I overlooked when I first uploaded the pack. Just copy and paste into the mod folder that you placed the "SF2:NA US Stock Ships Data File Mod/Update 1.0" into and overwrite when ask. I am also updating the pack to include the changes this pack adds so you don’t need this Fix Pack if you downloaded the "SF2:NA US Stock Ships Data File Mod/Update" after 2/9/2014. -

This is a US counterpart my previously uploaded Soviet ship updates. This pack has updated data files for the stock Third Wire SF2:NA United States Navy surface combatants and amphibious ships. /------------------------------------------------------------------ The changes are primarily centered around adjustments to the Elevation and Train of the guns with regard to both the Maximum and Minimum position and rate of movement. A number of other adjustments have also been made related to gunners and guns. The "Alt1" variant of the data files uses stock guns. The "Alt2" version is set to use alternate guns which should improve the effectiveness of the guns in the AA and CIWS role. The alternate Guns have been included. This file has been tested in SF2:NA. /------------------------------------------------------------------ 1.1 includes some minor adjustments that I missed including in the original release.
