These tweaks are specifically for SF2, as is my Cold War prop package that was done about a month ago - I've also tried running a few of the WW2 types in FE2 but the results were inaccurate (the Corsair F4U-5 for example has a realistic top speed in the 760s kph in SF2, but when dumped into FE2 it jumps into the 880s kph - so I don't recommend transplanting data inis across FE2 and SF2 - better to tweak things separately for the two sims).... Apart from the Corsair and one or two other types, I haven't tried running any of the other SF2 aircraft in FE2, the Corsair showed up just fine but the FM modelling is way off when I run it in FE2....I think air density among other things is modelled to be "thinner" in FE2...possibly something TK did for more accurate WW1 biplane behavior...this would explain the difference in top speeds across the two sims....also the fact that I usually need to use higher-than-historical hp ratings in SF2 for the prop types to get fairly historical climb rates...in FE2, even when using estimates, the hp ratings end up fairly close to historical values, and sometimes require even a bit of down-tuning so that climb rates aren't too good/inaccurate. Some of the 1930s biplanes that Geezer and Baffmeister were working on were done specifically for FE2 I think, and then eventually re-tweaked for SF2 - on the other hand "backporting" stuff from SF2 into FE2 may not be as easy. Obligatory screenies below, Aircobra and Tomahawk in the pto theater - SF2 is thoroughly satisfying for my occasional WW2 interests, much better than that CFS3 stuff I tried years ago. Von S

View File Q-5 Fantan This is skin for Nanchang Q-5 Fantan, I hope that I succeed to make an approximate correct look of green and white paint, none of this would be possible without the original templates from our friend yakarov79, a great credit goes to him, thank you. Quite a while ago, when climate scientists first warned us about warming, I spent some time thinking about it for myself, and came to the conclusion that they were right, and how, at each point in our history we got here. We didn't mean too, but we did it because we do things in this world without being aware of the connections between everything. We always have, throughout our history. The only thing that saddens me is how different we are than my father's generation. My father, my mother, my uncles, my aunts, they all grew up during the great depression, when there was no social safety net, and then came WW2. What did they do? They all volunteered to fight, or serve. They left friends around the world. It took my father 40 years to tell me he won the Bronze Star. It took my uncle 40 years to tell me he was wounded in the Hurtgen Forest. Why? Because they didn't boast. They weren't about themselves. They always wanted something better for their children than they had experienced, and that's where we have failed them. They were, I think, the greatest generation. We are not, and never will be known as such. I have had people say it to my face, that whatever world we leave behind is something our children will just have to deal with, and they don't care. What a shift in human character that is. Miss you, Mom, Dad, because now our children need you. They don't need us.

Dear friends, Today's Dev Blog is really short - we're working on finishing the update 3.101 full time. This update will be very huge, its change list consists of more than 70 points already. Be warned by the way - because of the critical amount of changes, the track and mission format will be changed, so if you have interesting tracks convert them to videos beforehand. If you're an author of a custom mission or campaign, be prepared to resave your creation after the release (it can be done quickly using 'Convert missions to binary in folder' in the Mission editor). So, we have a lot of work on our hands at the moment, but it's not very exciting to tell about it. However, we have an interesting thing we can show you today. The plan is to have the external textures of all Bodenplatte aircraft in 4K quality. This is possible thanks to new texturing techniques and the help from our community members =ICDP= and =BlackHellHound1=. For instance, today we can show you the Me 262 as you'll see it in the coming update - in all 4K glory. See the world combat debut of our Me-262 at FS Expo 2019 in Orlando, FL June 8-9 Booth #505. Jason will be there putting it through its paces with a 6DOF motion-sim by Gforcefactory and VR. You can discuss the news in this thread

All you have to do is look at the lives of the people who are shouting the loudest about climate change and how you have to give up luxuries to save the planet. I can't name one of them that isn't hypocritical. If you believe the planet is in danger, you don't just tell other people to change their ways. You set the example. Having huge mansions that consume tons of electricity and need tons of water for gardening, which also consumes tons of electricity, is not setting the example. Flying all over the world in your private jet or a chartered jet when you can use the internet to provide high definition live video and audio feeds is insane. Driving around in limos or large SUVs isn't exactly following the example either. Excusing all of this by claiming you are paying for "carbon credits" is the same as saying, "rich people can live anyway they want while middle and lower classes have to follow the rules."

Recon balloons were rare. Propaganda ballooning was a common thing in the 50th and 60th. The balloons should drop leaflets, but mostly failed. For interception Yak-11 planes were used.

Fighter data ini tweaks now all done for a mini 1937 to 1941 install, will most likely package this soon and upload as a "Part I" package..."Part II" will follow later in the year with five or six two-engined bombers that fit well with a late '30s install. Have finally gotten around to tweaking the P-39 Aircobra (c variant and early d batch), and also one of my favorites, the P-40 (cu and/or early b variant), this should work well for early and obscure pto and mto installs. The Flying Tigers flew the c variant largely but I'll leave that perhaps for a future tweaks package for a mid-war scenario. Happy flying, Von S Can barely get above 8500 m alt in the early P-40 but good enough to create some contrails Some damage from a dogfight with Folgere types but the P-40 is fairly sturdy and can take a beating Couldn't resist getting some of the later-variant Folgeres at their base (Series 9 of the c.202 tweak in the pic below) Keeping good formation on the way back home I always find time to enjoy sun effects in the TW sims

one day I was chasing Q-5...I was already very close, enough to see this... So I've made quick repaint. (very very quick). Due to mapping a few things still look aww... but at least some small improvement. I never had a desire to improve more - as it is usually on my radar screen. here => PLAAF_Silver-Green.rar if someone wants gimp xcf layers. let me know.

Dear all, As the title implies, I am writing proposing a new detailed model of the SAAB JAS-39 Gripen for future modding projects to our modders in the community. Rationale: "Who can deny the joy it brings When you've found that special thing..." Seriously, one could hardly forget the satisfaction and enjoyment that brought by a well-built model like the Mirage F1 series available here (I said that before) doing all the ground attack stuff, SEAD,.. That might serves as our special way to honor the great designs; maybe also the innovative, risk-taking designs in the aviation history. Secondly, it's easy to see why a multi-role airframe is more preferable to a pure fighter. We DO expect a model that we've devoted our time on its development to be able to perform missions other than just CAP, fighter sweep and interception all day long. Moreover, it could serve as a beautiful weapons test bed for some of our weapon systems modders around. To me, the Gripen is the next Viper(F-16). I believe this project would spawn an airframe that would fit many future scenarios/terrains projects offered by our friends. How can I help: I am readily available to offer my help to whom it may show his interest on my proposed project on the Gripen. My philosophy on SF2 modding/playing is that I would prefer a model that has acceptable details and accuracy up to the best available data we could collect than something Looking fancy but everything else we have to guess... It doesn't concern me if it's an early model Gripen say 39A as long as it's accurate. I 've found some resources showing details of the Gripen. Due to our site policy on the copyrighted materials I would not post them here but I could "lend" some of them just PM me. A few examples:

Before my hardware crash, there was a "personal" upgrade project ongoing, cause i didnt liked the canopy shape, to many edges, edited some parts here and there, the whole intake, rounded up some edges and added cockpit details.
