This package represents the CF-100 MK-4A version as used by the RCAF in Canada. The squadrons/skins were based in Canada so this pack isn't a good fit for a typical install and should only be used in a North American focused install. The date range is a bit of a guess but considering the start up dates for some of the squadrons, the weapon trials that were required, as well as aircraft deliveries to operational training units, I think the introduction to front line service was around June, 1954.The higher thrust MK4B was introduced around March,1955, and I'm assuming any front line MK4A's would have been upgraded with the more powerful Orenda 11 engines during heavy maintenance checks so the MK4A gets phased out one year after the introduction of the MK-4B. With the short date range for the MK4A not all the CF-100 Squadrons are represented with this package but they will be when the MK-4B and MK-5 packages are released. I'm using the NORAD suffix to avoid any confusion with the European versions although the CF-100 MK4 service introduction pre-dates NORAD by about 3 years. The skin jpeg's are quite large and I've noticed some frame rate issues when flying over Hi Res terrains but no issues over the stock terrains. The model does use distance lods. CREDITS: Sundowner: Aircraft model, cockpit model, various ini work, some skin work, research. 1977Frenchie: Skins, decals, hangar and loading screens, research. Baffmeister: Flight model, some ini work, some research, package compilation and readme. Wilches: Beta testing and research. Crusader: Research The Canberra_2 engine sound and Mk3 ejection seat are included but not sure who made them. There is also a CF-100windsound which I might have made but don't remember for certain. More information and installation instructions included in the ReadMe. This package is subject to the CombatAce Modders Licensing Agreement -

4 pointsafter the onset of night blindness, he embarked on a career with the Judge Advocate General, including a famous case involving the Commanding Officer of Guantanamo Bay. He later had corrective surgery and was able to return to flight status. However, due to reverting career fields so late, he is effectively stalled in his career not to rise higher than O-6. Donald Bellasario also did a successful TV show based on his legal career, although the Marines were changed from litigants to co-stars There are rumors of a successful sheep dipped career with the intelligence community as well, but to date FOIA requests have all been denied.

2 pointsWas going through my jets (Super Hornets) and found out the Block II jets have no real radar use. Here's a hotfix to fix it until I upload a new version. This also fixes a bug with the cockpit for the F/A-18F as well when selecting weapons, you can see the RWR on the UFC panel. BlockII_Hotix.7z

2 pointsMaybe you FM gurus knew this already, but I only recently noticed that: Internal fuel and the pilot (and internal ammo too?) don't change the center of gravity (cog) of the aircraft. The additional weight will always be placed at the cog. Only the inertia tensor (Ix,Iy,Iz) is changed as follows: Ix = (mass_total/mass_empty)*Ix_empty, Iy = (mass_total/mass_empty)*Iy_empty and Iz = (mass_total/mass_empty)*Iz_empty

1 pointIn a special meeting in the Hebrew cabinet in August 1987, the goverment presided by Yitzhak Shamir decided to stop the development of the IAI Lavi after defense budget had sikyrocketed. But in a twist of fate, almost at the end of the meeting a urgent message arrived trough diplomatic channels. Japan and Argentina will help to fund the IAI Lavi in exchange for techincal help and the permissions to build the plane in country. At this genereous offer, Shamir soon made a press conference presenting the country with the new situation and letting IAI enginners and pilots to continue the flight tests then underway. 5 years after that the plane was considered a huge succes with export orders to several countries as well as being a plane that meets all the old and new requirements being made by the IAF. Here we see the plane in a punitive strike in 1994 against Gaza strip. Model by AngelP, it need some work on skins, basicly weathering and stencils, if anyone wanto to help with that...

1 pointThis bit of info might be of interest for all aircraft modders out there. I was testing the upcoming F-22 Raptor addon placed in my custom mod folder, and its custom aircraft sounds were played correctly. However, after placing the complete addon package inside a clean SF2 mod folder, the F-22's sounds ceased to be played accordingly (I mean, you hear some sounds, but they are nothing like they should be). After much investigation, it turns out this is due to the fact that my custom mod folder contained higher quality sound replacements for the stock SF2 sounds, such as JetBurner.wav, JetEngine.wav, Flaps.wav, Gear.wav, etc. It seems the game requires that a plane's custom sounds, such as F22Engine.wav and F22Gear.wav, match the same quality of the stock ones, JetEngine.wav and Gear.wav, for them to be played correctly. That is, if JetBurner.wav is 22050 Hz Mono (it is so in stock SF2, but a custom mod available here provides 44100 Hz replacements for all stock sounds: https://combatace.com/forums/topic/72280-strike-fighters-2-sounds/?tab=comments#comment-569500), F22Burner.wav must be 22050 Hz Mono as well, otherwise it won't be played as it is. Since I am using the mod linked above, my F-22 sounds with a frequency of 44100 Hz are played correctly. Without the higher quality replacement of stock sounds, as provided by that mod, I would have to degrade the quality of my sounds to the lower frequency of stock SF2 sounds. All of this info applies regardless if you're using a custom soundlist.ini, so take this into consideration when releasing aircraft mods. I don't want to degrade my F-22 sounds to 22050 Hz or even 11025 Hz in some cases, so I will provide the few needed replacements of stock sounds from that mod.

1 pointSome tests under way...tweaking the FM for Geezer's Mk.I Gladiator, available for FE2, to work well in SF2...will include this eventually with my 1937 - 1941 FM pack. Doesn't hurt to have a biplane or two in that package. Top speed around 410 kph at around 4200 m alt in SF2, and a climb rate around 10 m/s or so, estimated, if you climb at a speed of about 200 to 220 kph. Not bad at all for a 1930s aircraft. Too bad I can't remove the cockpit canopy since it doesn't open/close anyway, and I think the model is lacking damage tga files, but no big deal - it's a fun aircraft and can hold its own against 1930s monoplane types (I'd say it's better than the early monoplanes).
