4 pointsI have uploaded the Halberstadt CL.II (still awaiting administrator approval.) The download includes a hex camo skin, some decals, a fully functional cockpit, and a loadout for the grenades. My skinning templates are included. The Halberstadt CL.II was used in large numbers on the Western Front during the last year of the war. It was originally intended to be an escort for reconnaissance planes, but its speed and maneuverability made it good fighter. It was also used extensively as a ground support plane. My thanks to Ojcar for making the FM and for making some improvements to the guns. My thanks also to Nixou for making the sound for the Mercades D.III engine.

The Halberstadt CL.II was a German, 2 seat fighter/escort plane. The CL.II was designed to be an escort for reconnaissance flights. Its excellent maneuverability made it a match for single seat fighters and its field of fire made it an excellent ground attack plane. It entered service in August 1917 and was used in large numbers until the end of the war. The Halberstadt CL.II had a plywood fuselage and was powered by a six-cylinder Mercedes D.III engine. It had a 7.92mm Spandau machine gun in the front fuselage for the pilot and a 7.92mm Parabellum gun on a ring mount for the observer. It could also carry a light bomb load. My version has a rack for 10 stick grenades mounted on the fuselage. My download includes a hex camo skin, appropriate decals, and a fully functional cockpit. My skinning templates are included with the download. I have included a sound file for the Mercedes D.III engine. The same sound has been used with other planes and you may already have it installed. For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "HalberstadtCL2" into your FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create a new folder named "HalberstadtCL2." Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/HalberstadtCL2 folder into the Decals/HalberstadtCL2 folder you just made. If you don't already have it, move the sound file "mercedes160m2.wav" from my "Sounds" into your "Sounds" folder. If you don't have a Sounds folder, you can make one. -

2 pointsTwo additional things, A: I've seen the articles from Fox and Sinclair media you've shared from time to time. You don't have leg to stand on, Stumpy. (plus it was still, like, 3am EST when it was posted, so the US networks weren't awake yet) No.3: Not suggesting they're going to try to confiscate them. But even bringing it up is a real FU from Erdogan to the US. He's really leaning into this whole 'frenemy' thing, and by not responding to these continued aggravations, it's making the US look impotent by being either unwilling or unable to respond, even if the response from the administration was a token rebuff, at least it's something. I know the political turmoil in Washington is a huge distraction for the administration (123 tweets on Friday, a new personal record!), but this kind of thing demands a response. Even a middle-finger emoji in a tweet would be something. And F: I'm actually a little surprised the US/DoD hasn't even floated the possibility of moving their resources to Greece, even if they're not serious about it, just as a response to Erdogan's latest bout needling aimed at the US. I mean, I get juggling allies with serious animosity between each other like Greece and Turkey is a highwire balancing act over a pool of ill-tempered sea-bass with lasers, but when you've Erdogan stomping on the wire, trying to make you fall, continued inaction is going to disproportionately hurt the US.

1 pointNope, it's ripped from Tom Clancy's HAWX, same skin layout of InSky's Su-34. Ace Combat models are much better IMHO. Anyway, it's ripped, so forget about it.

1 pointIIRC it was intended for SF Wings over Vietnam. Although the conversion of several items from YAP3 to the SF2 platform is possible, it requires you to know what is to be tweaked and according to the type in regard (say the terrain, effects, weps etc) the lines to be changed or added may vary. I acquired YAP3 for the carriers and some unique models to YAP mostlyand with some help I've finally used a few and managed to land and takeoff in each L and R with aid of the mission editor. Out of that tool I haven't tried them out nor I know whether it will be possible to perform those task. I shall keep checking it so I can point out some highlights.

1 pointThe Chinese bought HMAS Melbourne back in '85 for $1.4M under the guise of scrapping her and then instead studied her to advance their naval program. The Aussies removed all the electronics and weapons but unfortunately left the arresting gear, catapult and part of the landing system. Chin up sparky you gave it your best bloody shot mate, can't always be winners now can we? Sometimes the only vision with absolute clarity is hindsight.

1 pointBack in 1997, I climbed up on the XB-70 landing gear so that I could touch it's skin. I saw the N9 fly around 1996-1997 as well.

1 pointlol, see, told you he'd respond. So glad to know I'm not the only one who does this. I did the same with the prototype F-14D on the Intrepid in NY during my first trip to the US. Even filmed it to taunt my bud who's a huge Tomcat fan.

1 pointAnd, thus, I am like unto a god. Like Dr Manhattan, I precieve Time in a different way than mortals. Actually, all I did with it was extrapolate serial numbers, and other minor small changes. I may have them archived someplace, but not sure!! On a note of trivia, the 35s and 49s were built about 10 miles from where I'm sitting in West Los Angeles. I pass by Northrop Field (now Hawthorne Airport) 4 times a week heading to the mother-in-laws house. It's just south of the 105 Freeway. I ALWAYS think about the Wings as I drive by (i'm one of those people that are fascinated by to opposite ends of the avaition spectrum -- flying boats and flying wings.) I saw the N9 fly at Chino some years back, and actually touched it (when no one was looking!) Such a sad day when it was lost in a crash recently.

1 pointYep yep ... bunch of blustering from the Turks. They tried to play both ends against the middle and they lost now they want to take their toys and go home. Childish. Even worse is our administration allowing this to happen and not having any more forethought than, "what can I do for me today?" I'm disgusted by politicians everywhere. The only people who suffer are the citizens.

1 pointThe Kuze and the Varyag weren't poorly built, per se. Story has it that they were quite capable, if over-engineered (it was a missile cruiser/carrier hybrid after all-- not exactly two concepts that integrate well together), when they launched. A few decades of severe neglect, F-all maintenance/funding and several botched refits whilst in Russian service are apparently what's plagued the Kuze. Ironically, the Varyag, despite being left to rust and exposed to the elements has fared a lot better in the PLAN service, which is either a testament to the technical acumen of the Chinese Navy, or to the lack of it with the Russian Navy regarding the Kuze (personally, I wouldn't trust a Russian shipyard to build me a cup of coffee, at least, not since 1989). Although the PLAN were quick to dismiss the notion of using it as a front line carrier, the combination of the ship's capabilities and that of the J-15 (or their respective inability to meet the PLAN's goals) put paid to that. It's real value will be as a foundational base to gain experience with carrier operations until the Type 001A/Type 002s are commissioned, much the same way they did with the HMAS Melbourne.

1 pointSomething like this happened to me...when I copied (backed up) my folders and copied them back onto a new computer...all the files were in RO mode. I had to select the top folder and remove the Read Only flag...then it worked fine. Good Luck. =V=

This latest title is more evolution than revolution that iterates on the series while giving us some legendary aircraft to fly. 1 pointDear Friends, 1C Game Studios is proud to announce our next combat theater in the IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles series of products – Battle of Normandy! It was just over 75 years ago that the western Allies launched joint airborne and amphibious landings in the Normandy region of France. Both the preparation and execution of the invasion of Normandy had a large air component and involved many airfields in the UK and in France, especially after the Allies landed and built many Advanced Landing Grounds. Some German-built and occupied airfields were captured, repaired and re-used by the Allies as they advanced. The Allied advance towards Paris and eventually Germany was not easy and air-power was heavily employed to help facilitate a breakout. The Germans had a very difficult time keeping their hold on France and were faced with defending against not only Allied fighters, but also dedicated ground attackers, bombers and even naval units. The history of this battle makes for a lot of interesting gameplay. We hope to bring this period of the war to life like never before, just like we have done with Battle of Bodenplatte and our previous Eastern Front titles. Due to its important location, Battle of Normandy opens up additional mission scenarios and a vast timeline for great aerial warfare action utilizing many aircraft and content from our previous titles. Plus, Battle of Normandy adds a lot of content that can be utilized in our Battle of Bodenplatte environment. Content Battle of Normandy, will continue to offer a wide variety of gameplay options and also push our product forward with additional technology, features and improvements. We will of course, have an awesome plane-set that represents the era in which the title takes place. It will also include all the features that is standard for our WWII titles such as QMB, Pilot Career, Custom SP Missions and Multiplayer support. We also plan to include a Scripted Campaign focusing on a specific part of the battle. See below for additional information. Mk.VI Spifire Mk.XIV (Collector Plane) C-47 Dakota (AI) B-26 Marauder (AI) Bf-109 G-6 “Late” Fw-190 A-6 Ju-88 C-6a Me-410 Ar-234 (Collector Plane) V-1 Buzz Bomb (AI) This is what we plan to build based on our current research and desires. Of course, if for any reason one of these planes cannot be built to our satisfaction, we will find a suitable replacement. Normandy Map To support this particular Great Battle, we plan to build numerous ground vehicles, tanks, paratroopers, artillery, bunkers, objects, obstacles, buildings, airfields and ships that will bring flying such dangerous missions to life. The map of Battle of Normandy is also planned to be very satisfying in its size, scope and detail. Substantial portions of Southern England, Normandy and Calais regions will be included. We plan to have two versions of the map. There will be both pre-Invasion and post-Invasion versions. This allows us the ability to have our Pilot Career span the period preparing for the invasion and post D-Day events. It also allows us to create scenarios that are even further removed from the invasion itself and explore the 1942-43 period with some assets from our previous titles and certain Collector Planes. The gameplay possibilities are quite exciting to us and we hope to you as well. In addition to the content we plan to create, we will also continue to improve our Digital Warfare Engine and add some ‘in the works’ features that were not ready for BOBP release. This includes such items as, Air Marshal, improved MP Lobby, GUI-based Object Viewer, new rendering techniques and drop-tanks. Of course, this is on top of all the numerous small improvements, tweaks, fixes and enhancements we will continue to work on. We never stop working to improve our products and simulation engine. 1 pointView File Spanish Civil War, NiD 52 - 2 Pack In 1928, Spain purchased a license to produce the Nieuport-Delage NiD 52. The Spanish version was produced at the Hispano-Suiza factory at Guadalajara and was known as the Hispano Nieuport NiD 52. It had an all metal frame with cloth covering over the wings and parts of the fuselage. It was powered by a V12, 500 hp engine, and was armed with two Vickers machine guns mounted in the fuselage. The Spanish version was slower than expected and was considered difficult to fly. About 125 were produced between 1930 and 1933. 56 remained in service at the beginning of the Civil War; most of them remained in government (Republican) hands, only 11 went to the rebel (Nationalist) forces. Although it was an unpopular plane, the Nid 52 was an important fighter until better planes became available. I have made two versions of the Hispano Nieuport NiD 52 - one for each side. Each version has a functional cockpit, appropriate skins, and decal sets. My skinning templates are included with the download. Credits Thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the NiD 52. Ojcar has added a gunsight to the NiD 52. He made a weapon station and loadout to add the gunsight which came with Emld's Nieuport 24 Lewis. I am including the gunsight with this download. 1 pointRAF fighter fm's 0.92 update. The 0.91 update was not released due to patch issues. The Bf-110 will have to wait and RussoUK has some new Bf-109 "Emil" models coming out that should fit in OK with these new FM's. Changes: A Hurricane IIA and Spitfire 2A package included. You should be able to copy and paste the entire contents of the present Hurricane and Spitfire folders into these new folders and get a functioning airplane. [theoretically] It will leave some redundant files. The Merlin XX engine with a 2 speed supercharger gives a big boost in low and high level performance for the Hurricane II but the Merlin XII in the Spitfire II has only a single speed supercharger and develops less power at low level than the Spitfire I but has a bit more power at high altitudes. Both these planes get a new cockpit ini but I haven't changed anything yet, they are more for future tinkering. The Spit II gets a bit more armor around the upper fuel tank. Belly landings now possible with these FM's! I got some inspiration from Cliff11s' KAW F-82 . Lots of other interesting things going on with the F-82 [like engine smoke with WEP ] but I always worry about patch issues in SF-2 so the belly landings are all for now. The engine tables now account for some ram air boost above full throttle height. This was quite significant in RL but most engine data available doesn't reflect it. They seem to be based on power output obtained in altitude chambers. Anyway, the changes give more realistic speeds at high altitude. Landing gear and other changes to accommodate the new patch. No guarantees. I expect future changes to be infrequent and probably just tweaks to AI, slight FM tweaks, cockpit ini edits and landing gear adjustments. Cheers. RAFfighterFMS0.92.zip
