This is a long-awaited project (April 9th will be a year from starting the project) requested by my friend, tiopilotos, without him I wouldn't think of making these models. The models are completed and as soon as tiopilotos completes making of the data files and researching the information and testing (without this is just a static model) we will share this with you all.

New updates on recent progress. First of all, apologies to keep you guys waiting. Unfortunately, RL is a toll for everyone. The add-on will be ready when it's ready. From time to time new things that need improvement are found, but we're almost there. @yakarov79 has been instrumental in making the new cockpit 3d model; me and him have constantly worked together to bring you a nicer, more realistic Raptor cockpit; by realistic, I mean that MFDs have got a new layout to better resemble what the real Raptor's cockpit has got, within SF2 engine limitations of course. Julhelm has been very kind to allow yakarov79 to improve upon his previous 3d model. Here below a few comparison shots: Old cockpit 3d model by Julhelm, avionics by Crusader New cockpit 3d model by yakarov79, textures by yakarov79 and yours truly; avionics update by Crusader, reworked by yours truly. Since the package will keep you waiting some more, I added new extras to it; the skin pack will feature the below skin, directly inspired by Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War. Such a Raptor skin was part of a DLC of Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation.

@russouk2004 Given your reaction in this thread I thought you might get a kick out of the YouTube channel SciManDan. He has three series he does called "Tinfoil Tuesday", "Flat Earth Friday", and his "Flat Earth Fail Compilations" where he logically destroys FlatErthers and/or lets them humiliate themselves.

Well, this community is over 15 years old now and most modders still don't use a proper code editor (come on, Notepad++ is great) to edit INI files, don't use proper comments (no, you don't comment on the same line you barbarian, looking at you Wrench ), don't use a diff/merge tool (come on, WinMerge is free), don't use version control (come on, Subversion with TortoiseSVN is easy to pick up) and even worse, many still don't use Mue's wonderful tools. I mean, we're 15 years in, and we still don't have a wiki to document the folder and file structure, what each and every file and folder are, what they do, what each line in each file does... We're 15 years in, we finally have some "licencing" in place allowing the community to pick up where the last modders stopped (with some noticeable exceptions for more or less valid reasons), but we still don't have a Subversion (because Git isn't made for projects with large binaries, don't make that mistake) server for projects under that licence. It's not necessarily that they don't know that these tools exist or don't know how to use them, but for most it's just that it's a hobby and they don't feel like working on it as if it were a job, and I certainly can't blame them... I mean, I know exactly what to do, how to do it, I do it on a small scale for my own installs, but I don't have the time or energy to set it up or organise it for the community. There, that's my frustration, and I'm not really holding it against modders, I mean, I'm not doing anything to solve this situation even though I could, so I'll just shut up now.

this happens because at the time of the release of his plane the author is so foxed up that he makes mistakes and typos. He wants to quickly share his work and forget about it. Dumbness is nothing at all.

because some folks are dumb fucks, that can't/don't/won't follow established procedures. Said procedures are set up by the game itself and how it names and manages folders.

The advantage is, that SF2 supports jpg files. So we can make tiles with a comparable resolution to FE. But the variability of the tiles is lower than in FE, of course. As an example a WIP tileset for South England in late summer. One tile has the size of 1024x1024 pixel which are comparable with 512x512 pixel tiles of FE terrains.

My first week of lock down in Toulouse: For me, things are ok, I am usually working at home except when I am on dosplacements. My wife is a teacher and we need to teach the pupils how to attend school at home (web meetings ...). I gave an old laptop to a family which did not have one. But one of my relative (cousin of my father) died yestearday from Covid :(
