3 pointsGepard understood what I was saying. Aircraft carriers which have been exported IRL require their own folder, instead of making use of userlist.ini and Exported=TRUE statements. If you use the userlist.ini, the secondary nation's carrier is never used by the game in automaticallly generated fleets, and thus no AI flights from them as well. I made it so that the Clemenceau had a Brazilian skin for the Sao Paulo, and with Brazil added to the userlist.ini. The game disregards it completely. KJakker made a copy of the folder and created a Brazil-only Clemenceau with the Sao Paulo skin. Now the game uses it with Brazilian Navy aircraft.

3 pointsThe F-15 The F-15 is one of the deadliest aircraft in modern aviation history with well over 100 air to air kills this aircraft. This Quick Aircraft Video will try it's best to feature the story of this iconic aircraft in 3 minutes or less. As always, if you're hankering for some aircraft mods we have a few recommendations for you :)

Skin for excellent Phoenix D.II by Stephen1918. This is early skin "Natural wood/ natural canvas". I tried to add some "photorealistic" textures for more impressive image of this aircraft. Add to PhoenixD2.ini: [TextureSetXXX] Name=EarlyPhR Nation=AUSTRIA Squadron= Specular=0.700000 Glossiness=0.900000 Reflection=0.700000 For FE2 - put folders from "D" into Objects/Decals/PhoenixD2/D. 2 pointsyes, the 199th. Figured it would be nice to have a local unit for when I finish and upload the modernized Hawaii terrain. (I did they're P-47Ns some months ago in the Jug ANG skin pack, without even realizing it!) Here's the SEA skin, and the new fin flash. the photo (and a profile I didn't download) seems to show overall ADC gray the other shows the SEA 3 tone, with a ANG tail badge, but not the Hawaii flash. I like the full color flash better Got the PM, DA!!! MANY, many thanks for the books!!

2 pointsThe Cold War Has Gone Hot...... A US mechanized infantry unit has survived and been enveloped. LSK (East German Air Forces) jets are being scrambled for a dawn attack... F-16C Block 30s are racing to help the surrounded unit under @Menrva's real sky. A F-16 fires off an AIM-9 to fend off the LSK jets. A LSK Su-22's flares didn't get the job done. LSK MiG-23BNs lob rockets at the mechanized unit, not realizing a F-16C is on its tail.... The F-16C goes to guns on the MiG-23 and then gets to work pounding the ground element: F-111Ds are inbound to whack an airfield the LSK launched from: Only to have MiG-21s launch: Ignorant of the new Fishbed threat, the F-16s carry out more low-level attacks on the ground element: But the BTR-50s and T-62s are still able to close with the mechanized infantry & supports: But with only four F-16s for CAS and lacking IR pods - it's 1989 after all, the outcome is almost certain:

Menu music from "Tornado" for Strike Fighters 2, replaces the standard menu music with that from the DOS Sim by Digital Integration. Features 9 out of 10 tracks as I could not find a use for "Freedom". Installation: Drag and drop the .wav files in Part 1 and Part 2 to C:\[user]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\Strike Fighters 2 [Name of Installation]\Menu and that's it! Simple as that, some INI editing might be required. Tested on Strike Fighters 2 North Atlantic June 2013 version, should work on any Strike Fighters 2 Version. -
1 pointI'm working on updating the AIM-9 (and other types) in the game. Started already back in 2018. First release will be using stock 3d, a 2nd release with (hopefully) as many accurate 3d as possible later on. This update/mod will change the way the player has to employ the missile. Accurate aiming (pulling the sight/aiming mark/reticle directly on the target) is required to get a seeker lock-on. Until now, it is easy to get a lock-on because the missile seekers are set up by default to act as a "super-seeker", covering the full seeker gimbal angles. With that removed, its more fun/challenging to fight with IR missiles and it also makes more sense to actually use the radar for targeting. That works (seeker slaved to radar) only with few AIM-9 types, the 9L, 9M, 9P-5, 9JULI and the 9X. The AIM-4D also has this function and the French Magic 2. To be continued..

1 pointActually watched a documentary about that. Apparently the department of defense only allowed 1 missile to be fired for filming. So that was the only shot they had that they could use.

1 pointUse sundowners templates - works better for C/D. I am using for D Sundowners with chopped Ravenclaw's bits from E. ANG research is a pain in the ass especially the late 70s early 80s....I did recently all Phantom D ANG squadrons. Some years show usage of 2-3 schemes at the same time. are you doing Hawaiian 199th ? As far as I remember they were using standard SEA, SEA wraparound and ADC grey at the same time. Even if it was TFS its main role was air defense may be a reason for keeping ADC grey on many aircraft. I found a picture from 1984 still with standard SEA. But haven't seen (or do not recall) seeing Hawaiians in Hill grey.

1 pointCause only graphic is old in this game;-) It has amazing mission planner and simulation of avionic failures. Even autopilot has 4 modes. ALARM can be fired in direct or indirect (climb and search) modes. LOFT for freefalls has correct HUD. You can drop bombs manualy or leave it for MCU (you must only keep allowance pressed). You can (must) select target for LGB manualy etc. Amazing game ;-)

Douglas Dakota C.3 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of the stock C-47A to create a Dakota C.3 in service with the Royal Air Force in the 1948-1967 timeline. Of course, the Royal Air Force were a big user of the Dakota but not in this fictional desert camo scheme which is loosely based on the original Lockheed Hercules C.1 scheme of the very early 1970's (quite an odd scheme for the times). It is flyable and RECON has been added as a secondary role so that you fly low-level recce missions and watch those MiG's stall and crash! INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the DakotaC3 folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the DakotaC3 folder into your Decals folder. That's it! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. Special thanks to gerwin for this lovely desert camo to which I've simply added black undersides and decals. Special thanks also to russouk2004 for bringing us the smashing C-47A cockpit. And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 1 - 12/05/2020 -

1 pointOh where do I begin? I love the afterburners, the vapes, the precision flying at OLF Coupeville, the fact I'm a civilian that gets to see a slice of the history of this platform play out. See all my 1,528 EA-18G pictures here: Me, I think the EA-18G Growler makes modern war impossible. Remember modern war is so dependent on unhindered access to the electromagnetic spectrum for everything from triggering IEDs to radio communications to call in kinetic force to radars that see... in fact the Australians and likely Luftwaffe are buying Growlers. The People's Republic of China is modifying a 2-seat Flanker to have EW capability. Eurofighter is offering an EW version of their Typhoon with jammer pods & anti-radiation missiles. That's how inspirational and landmark the Growler is. Granted its predecessors the EA-6B Prowler, EF-111 "Sparkvark", & EA-3 Skywarrior are all remarkable. But none of these jets got exported or imitated, plus all of them had drawbacks. Remember the F-15 & F-16 families inspired at least the Su-27 family, the MiG-29 family, the J-10 - which came from the Lavi which was based on the F-16, the JASDF F-2A spinoff of the F-16. That seems to be the benchmark of how good a combat aircraft design is. The EA-18G Growler is a doggone good fusion of computers, pods and airframe - the airframe being the F/A-18F Super Hornet. Although the pods on the Growler are still canted out like the F/A-18F that creates substantial airframe drag issues the jet still has good range and will be getting conformal fuel tanks. I also like the Growler self-escorts with two AIM-120 AMRAAMs, not just packs jammer pods and the occasional AGM-88 HARM. Might look odd but certainly not ugly.

1 pointIf you have suggestions, I'm still fixing a few things before release, so fire away, I'll include templates for that particular version (it has a bigger nose, visually, adds a few bits and bobs LOD-wise thanks to Cocas, as well as a few things skin-wise) anyway.

1 pointFormation of 4 Mirage IIIEZ fly low level to avoid early radar acquisition... Their target is a training camp in Cahama. They dropped bombs Anti-aircraft artillery was expected... ZU-23s were seen firing from two different directions... SA-7 gunners were also present... However even though almost all missiles tracked the targets, Mirages accelerated and missiles missed... During the last raid a single Mirage released its ordnance and started accelerating while climbing... Only seconds before impact an another pilot saw a small missile getting very close... Mirage IIIEZ suffered critical damage and was shot down... While the formation was returning back to base they realized that an another aircraft had been hit by 23mm guns at right wing... Damaged aircraft landed safely and grounded for the necessary repairs. After some days it became operational.

1 pointWe're all counting the days we can finally rid ourselves of this administration. The abuse your state and governor have endured is unimaginable and uncalled for. It disgusts a lot of people. A monkey with an organ grinder would be better.

1 pointAh , they are used to my grumbling about Craparse on here, and as I am never really, how shall we say, explicit ....yes explicit works, well because I conform mostly to those strictures , they ignore me.......So I doubt I will get into hot water, I am sure Kev ( Wrench) would have words in the old shell like if I stepped too far off the path of righteousness.

1 pointAh you would deny me my bile and angst ? trust me, I'm Italian so having lifelong vendettas is a "thing" but in reality, dont tell anyone I said this, but you are probably right, I should let it go , I just cant lol..........I am actually more annoyed and saddened by the fact that this rift is present within the SF community, but unfortunately , no one will back down and be grown up enough to bury the hatchet .

This is a tutorial which I made long time ago for a friend who had installed SF2 and wanted to play multiple campaigns. Since he didn't know how to create mod folders he requested some help and that's the reason I made it. There's a related post at SF2 Knowledge Base which can be found here: https://combatace.com/forums/topic/62302-what-is-the-mod-folder/ However this tutorial is far more instructive since it was made for people who are unaware of how to install mods. I decided to upload it since it might be useful for begginers.
