2 pointsI've spent a few hours today trying to find the career for a specific EA-6B Prowler, BuNo 161880. Why this aircraft? Well, the Prowler's always been one of my favorite aircraft and this was the only one I ever saw, at an airshow in 2006 where a young me might have tried to rotate the ram air turbine on an ALQ-99. Anyway, I was wondering if someone might have better luck finding a squadron by squadron history and ultimate disposition of this aircraft? The Prowler's airframe by airframe history seems much less well documented than say, an F-4 or F-14's. Thanks! EDIT: Finding the histories of specific aircraft I've seen on display at airshows or museums is something I've been doing to help pass the time while covid's being going on.

F-113A Retaliator (What if) v1.1 ***************************************************** This mod is made for SF2NA. It based on Julhelms RA-5C Vigilante. ---------------------------------------------------------- I. History In 1960 the North American company decided to develope a fighter version of the A-5 Vigilante attack plane. The project got the designation NR-349 Retaliator. The NR-349 Retaliator was North American's proposal for a high-performance fighter aircraft for the US military as a variant of the A-5 with three engines. A third General Electric J79 was in the shaft between the other two engines with two narrow air inlets offset backwards above the inlets of the other engines. The aircraft was to be armed with six AIM-54 Phoenix at sub-fuselage stations. The US Air Force was not interested in, but the US Navy. The Retaliator should act as fleet defender, to intercept incoming long range bombers before they could fire their missiles on US carriers. The US Navy demanded to replace the third engine by an increased internal fuel capacity. Four prototypes where built and the decission was made to reduce the number of Phoenix missiles. So the F-113A Retaliator came into serial production in 1965. 1966 the first units of the uS Navy got the new fighter plane. The Retaliator was used for more than 10 years. Then it was replaced by the F-14A Tomcat. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- II. CREDITS: While making F-113A Retaliator i used a lot of files made by other modders. Thanks for this files! The plane filer are made: ~~~~~~~~~~ by Julhelm The flight model is made : ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ by Fubar512 & Column5 and modded by me The Cockpit is made ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ by Kesselbrut ---------------------------------------------------------- III. INSTALLATION: -Unzip the folders into your SF2 mod folder ---------------------------------------------------------- IV. 1 pointDassault Super Mystère B.2 - 8th Squadron, Lebanese Air Force, 1967 Dassault's steady evolution of the Ouragan and Mystère family culminated in the excellent Super Mystère B.2 which entered production in 1957. Featuring a new thin wing with 45° of sweep the Super Mystère B.2 was powered by the SNECMA Atar 101G and was the first Western European production aircraft to exceed Mach 1 in level flight. Dassault received a production order for 220 Super Mystère B.2's but a combination of defence cuts and the dazzling potential of the forthcoming Mirage III saw the Armée de l'Air order cut to 178 and then to 158. An entirely expected Israeli order for 24 Super Mystère B.2's restored production orders to 178 and Dassault's salesmen pitched the Super Mystère B.2 to many Middle-East and Sub-Saharan African countries but only the Lebanese Republic showed any interest. After the end of the 1958 Lebanon crisis a new government of national unity was formed under President Fuad Cheha and the returning Prime Minister Rashid Karami. Whilst grateful to the United States (who had sent 5,000 United States Marines to Beirut during the crisis) Lebanon's french-speaking Prime Minister Rashid Karami had warm relations with the French Government and supported the Lebanese Air Force's request for modern jets to replace the obsolete de Havilland Vampires. This led to the purchase of 18 Super Mystère B.2's for delivery in 1960 with these aircraft becoming the last of their type to roll off the Dassault production line at Mérignac. Entering service in March 1960 with the 8th Squadron of the Lebanese Air Force based at Rayak Air Base the Super Mystère B.2's were popular with Lebanese pilots. In 1962 a Lebanese Super Mystère B.2 shot down an Israeli jet over Kfirmishki. In 1967 two Lebanese Super Mystère B.2's were shot down on the first day of the Six-Day War by four Israeli Air Force Mirage IIICJ's. Lebanon played no part in the 1973 October War and the Super Mystère B.2's were retired in September, 1983.

1 pointAlso, as loathe as I am to suggest it, try FB. Usually there are pages for aircraft with names like Friends of (insert aircraft here) run by Av-nerds and ex-service people. I came across a couple groups looking for info on RAAF Mirages & RAN/RNZAF Skyhawks a while back and I got a shit-tonne more info than I needed from 'em. Pretty sure there's a Growler/Prowler page on there. Might help... maybe? *shrugs* Otherwise, there's a prviate VMAQ group. There's bound to be ex-members there who might be able to point you in the right direction. Just don't mention you're Army though. You know how judgy leathernecks get...

1 pointmakes you wish Joe Baugher's site covered Navy/Marine aircraft instead of just USAAC/AAF/AF I'd reccomend Forgotten Jests: http://www.forgottenjets.warbirdsresourcegroup.org/ but he doesn't have anything the EA-6B (just A-6s and EA-6A) still a good place though!

Richo’s Paran Navy for SF2 Desert 2/16/2021 Paran Navy pack along with some Soviet Navy updates for stock ships. This project was inspired by Soviet Navy Vertical Pack and this is available at Combat Ace if you do not already have it. Other inspirations are from Snailman’s Kiev photo he sent me on a Decaling question. Also I cannot forget the rest of the Third Wire community at Combat Ace and T.K. for the Strike Fighter series. Mues LODViewer is a plus and a must have tool. Other inspirations come from myself when working on the Polish Navy for SF2NA and needed a break and went back to the Desert and realized Paran needed a Navy to challenge the USN and USMC. In this Paran Navy pack is Just the Stock Third Wire Soviet ships, Kiev, Kashin, KrivakI and KrivakII up dated for the Paran Navy with Hull Numbers and Names. Working Torpedo's, RBU Launchers, Cruise missile's. The Kiev will take some extra pounding and keep on punching but is sinkable. Included is the Soviet updated Hull Numbers and Names. I am still working on them and I have not finished. But the Updated Names List and Hull Numbers are correct. Just working on the correct years and testing this out when I get time to play:) Weapons are added and modified due to limitations I had to compromise on the actual Missiles and Rockets. I could not find them anywhere? I will have to wait until new versions of these weapons are available. Photos are in Weapons/ 1A_Weapons info. Weapons are from various weapons packs available for free ware. Thanks for the hard work on those weapons:) Also included is a stock Yak 38 modified for action and updated Stary yak38 cockpit. Also from “Soviet Navy Vertical pack” and the Readme’s are included. Also needed is an updated Skin as well for the Paran Yak 38. The one available does not look right but will have to do the trick. If someone can make one that would be great!!! I am just learning to make Decals. Always looking for -

SF2 WW2 ETO YB-40 Destroyer by Veltro2K -- Something for the WW2 ETO players -- = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = This is the release of the YB-40 by Veltro2k, an extensively modified B-17F that was experimentaly used by the 8th AF as an escort placed with regular B-17 formations. The aircraft depicted here were those 12 used by the 92nd Bombardment Group (H), 327th Bomb Squadron based at RAF Alconbury. All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. Serial numbers and plane-in-squadron letter are 100% historical and are matched to their proper aircraft. 2 skins are supplies; the only difference is one uses the early 'star-and-ball' (pre-Sept 43). The other uses the 'star-and-bar' (post-Sept 43). Both skins are Olive Drab over Neutral Gray. The aircraft has less than a one year service life, nearly approximating the Real World (tm) usage. When in-game, you'll see YB-40 Flying Fortress (v2k) on the aircraft selection drop-down list. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please =READ= them BEFORE installing this mod!!!. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Happy Hunting! Wrench Kevin Stein Credits: Veltro2k for the aircraft Kesselbrut for the cockpt ??? for the pilot figures Me, for stuff -

1 pointOkay - so you merged your SF2 games into 1 to save space - but now when you run one (for example the SF2 Israel exe) you no longer have a separate game like you used to e.g. you can select missions and campaigns from the other games you have merged. Here's how to have it so it runs like the original standalone game. 1. Go to the mod folders - by default at C:\Users\<>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\ 2. Go to a terrains folder - C:\Users\<>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Israel\Terrains . 3. Backup the terrains folder in case you screw this up!! 4. Create a new folder called Terrains if its not there already! 3. Now simply create new folders for each terrain for the games you don't want to show up in your install (we DO NOT touch the IsraelME folder in this example) So if we are in israel Terrains folder then we create folders for: desert GermanyCE icelandna VietnamSEA Then in each of these folders create a new empty text file and call it the same as its parent folder: desert.ini GermanyCE.ini icelandna.ini VietnamSEA.ini NOTE because this is Israel we don't create or change IsraelME because that needs to work You should end up with: (Note i have manually changed the folder icons here via properties customize - not required though) So when I run the game I now only see stock campaigns & missions for Israel.

Mau.
