5 pointsMy 13 year old got into DCS this past October, so this was our Christmas break project. Don't judge the carpentry too harshly. All I own is skill saw, a jig saw, and a drill....and I'm a software guy.

5 pointsAs mentioned in another topic, I've been mulling over doing a Block III version of the Super Hornet, just to keep up with what's been going on. Right now I don't have a timeline (just been thinking about it) given that the Block III is still a work in progress in itself. The main issue has been the conformal fuel tanks that the Block III will supposedly have. So far the US Navy has been having issues with it and may axe them. I'll keep Googling it to catch any news often on but I want to wait until a final decision is made. If they go with it then there will be a new model (hopefully FastCargo can do it, or somebody else with the source models can do it) as well as a new cockpit for it. Again this is all a matter of conjecture right now as said, there isn't enough information around to make a final decision yet. The other issue will be the fuel tanks, but if FC can work on it we'll see what we can do.

4 pointsJust completed the Howitzer it will be a low ploy model as having a full set of models as a set need to be low otherwise the game will run slow (thanks to swambast for the information)

3 pointsMay I jump in ? When using this kind of fake component to hide somthing from the model, or to make it visible from the cockpit view (which I do a lot), please remember to allways add a "MassFraction=" value. If you're hiding something then it should be "MassFraction=0.0" If you want to show something from the cockpit and don't want to deal with the weight of the thing (like an antenna) "MassFraction=0.0" as well. If you know how much the thing weights, you can add the "MassFraction=0.xxx" entry, as a fraction of the total weight. Why ? because most of the time, all components have a massfraction value except the fuselage that takes all the remaining of the weight. So if the weight remaining for the fuselage is 500kg, the game will count 250kg for the fuselage and 250kg for the component added for display purpose (like a antenna...). Another way is to give a mass fraction value for all components, but then the total of all must be 1.0 My 2 cents, thanks for reading !

2 pointsJust lower graphics settings. The mod features many custom 3d models with high quality 2K and 4K textures. If your graphics card is not good enough, it can easily run out of memory. The mod does not work with Intel's integrated graphics card, you must use a proper GPU. Your Event Log is useful, as you can see the crash is due to GraphicsEngineDX10.dll, which is the game's library responsible for the game engine using DirectX 10 libraries. DX10 was implemented rather poorly in SF2. I am hoping a proper Win10 update for SF2 happens, so that mods such as this can perform better on all PCs. That being said, a patch is in the making; the mod's quality has been improved even more and many bugs have been fixed. No release date yet, we're taking our time to do some quality work.

2 pointsSmashing pictures mate, distinctive bird that Dr1. With my DID campaign being seemingly non-stop action at the moment. I thought I'd also have a more.....quiet.... sedate jaunt going on with C42 in September 1915. I say quiet, that is until my gunner decided to remove nearly half my top wing Thankfully I managed to get down ok and I think I found out why the gunner went crazy. He's obviously a filthy spy as it's the same pilot as the one flying my DID campaign .

2 pointscome to think of it, i'll attach it, so anyone who wants to can play with it. Obviously, you'll need SF2NA for the hawkeye. It launches and lands on the boats, so ... that's a plus at least AND you can blow it up!! sf2_yak44_standin_pak.7z

2 pointstesting the Nord Aviation AA.20 missile , the missile is originally a CGR missile but in SF2 i have to set it as IRM to get it working to launch the AA.20 you should be 1 nm or less from target to get a reasonable result , so finaly the Mystère IVA and Super Mystère B.2 have there AA.20 and AS.20 , the AS.25 for the Mirage IIIC will be next and i know that the proper launchrail is missing for that missile , will see what i can do about that

Hi! Special thanks to Florian who did the first mod of su-25 for SF2. All data files been taken from there. Also credits goes to Stary and Comrade. While making this mode, i used some files made by them. This model comes from a freeware source, and is used in several other games. Only some small details like drag chute, animation etc are done by me. And thanks to Thirdwire for this sim. THIS IS A FREEWARE. COMMERCIAL USE IS NOT ALLOWED! Enjoy! -
1 pointI'm not generally big into FPS but this looks pretty well done.

1 pointOK I just completed training here - finally got assigned to RNAS 4 a Sopwith Strutter A2 - 2 seater squadron, and we have observers fine. So perhaps it's just particular squadron (s) with a problem or something else. So as I say we'd need much more info, which squadron/ date etc and the files (to support email address, do not post here) when you can get there. No promises of course on if, or when, it could be fixed if there is indeed a problem.

1 pointin my case, the biggest gains were reducing the ringdim's to 5 across all patchworlddim values in the texturebudgets file. And in the scenerybudgets file, I kept it near stock with a slight increase in the first couple of majordensity values because those were a problem to contain. I also enabled NoMultisampling to take advantage of nvidia inspector. I managed to get consistent frames without any major dips. RAM usage stayed at a constant 11GB, and video/cpu usage never went above 25%.

1 pointGuys, I'm looking into this further, but no promises! I will offer up, a link to an FM for the "Alb DIII early" which shows the FM changes I applied as an example. You can test fly it in the mod and then swap it out to compare with the stock FM. HERE IS THE LINK: Click link to download I will continue to see if there is a way to alter stick shake for other features. Of course you will have to decide which craft need what changes and then add them to the mod.

1 pointIt's usually if the original WOFF was not removed properly, the old WOFFKeys.xca is there without the new key assignments to use the new Lewis reload feature. See section 65 of the BH&H II FAQ https://www.overflandersfields.com/index_html_files/FAQ_WOFF_BH&HII.pdf

1 pointGreat pics. On the ripped wing, if you look at busy 1.bmp in ...\WOFF\OBDWW1 Over Flanders Fields\campaigns\CampaignData\Nations You can see an Alb with missing lower wing, and landed upside down the struts all intact complete with wires and fittings ;) also the lower wing came off beautifully clean. (thanks to JFM for those, hope it's OK to post it here as an example).

1 pointSir, thank you for the information. I am thinking I could make a multi-version of HUDData.ini for this mod. That way people can select which one they prefer the most. I could make it this way: - RWR / RADAR on upper right corner - RWR / RADAR on upper left corner - RWR on upper left / Radar on upper right - Radar on upper left / RWR on upper right
-
1 pointSir, you inspired me to keep going on with the projects too. I shall have both projects done, so the community can enjoy it. I look forward to flying YAK-130, as soon you release it!

1 point3rd January 1915. Sgt. Boris Johnson here (my campaign career pilot). I took off this morning in my trusty Be2C with my observer Sgt. Turner for a test flight from Farnborough. It was snowing but I could see blue sky in between the clouds so I was thinking it would stop pretty quickly. I had thoughts of sight seeing over London but the snow did not stop and it was absolutely freezing. I do not know what Turner was playing at but he kept pointing that gun thingy back over my head and standing up for the whole flight! The idiot must have been frozen in place, what does he think this is ... the wild west! Perhaps I should ask for a new observer before he falls over and blows my head off. Anyway, I turned back after 10 minutes or so and landed back safely at Farnborough after around 15 minutes of flying. It was still snowing and I could see why operations had been cancelled but .... it gets so boring just sitting around waiting for the weather to change.

1 pointHoly moly! You have gone through a lot. Thank you for sharing. A big respect to you too. If you would like an alternative version with the different location of RWR / RADAR on the screen, let me know. I am more than happy to do it for you and other who want or needs it. The more options this mod have, the merrier.

1 pointI made a stand in in 2013, using the stock Hawkeye. Never released it. It's just a simple re-decaling with Russian insignia. It's "close but no cigar". But for an AI plane, and if one doesn't look too closely, and squints and turns off the lights, might be usable! (<gr>)

1 pointThank you for the feedback. That is understandable that there are a group of people already are familiar with many of aircraft, as you stated. However, at the same time, there are also the group of people, including me who are not familiar with many variants of each aircraft. Hence, is why I made this mod. I always wished that Thirdwire would add the filter system to the aircraft list, so we could customize the way we view the list (By Country / nation, Type / name of aircraft, etc...). But since it is not yet implemented, I decided to roll my sleeves and start modding all aircraft name in the list. To my amaze, after grouping aircraft by nation, it is quite educational way of viewing the list of aircraft. At the same time, it is more fun to view the list this way too. If it could do the same to other, then great! By the way, about in-game screen (Radar + RWR), I have reason why I group both in the upper right corner: My limited vision. What I have is known as Usher Syndrome. That is why I am deaf with a low vision. This is what my vision looks similar to: I have a tunnel vision with a good center visibility. (Which means I can look at the monitor from close-by to far distance.) In order, to see the surrounding situation, I scan my vision everywhere, including the monitor for the games and simulations. I usually use a limited sized monitor, so I can scan around the monitor less frequently. As stated above, I have a good center vision, so my head is not that far from the monitor. The larger monitor is, the more I have to scan around it with my tunnel vision. I am currently using 23" inches monitor as my maximum size. I have been flying simulations since the 1990s and I always use the symbols / text around the target in various simulations / games, in order, to assist me in spotting them. Now with the way I learn about modding SF2 through .ini dancing, it is a huge relief for me to be able to see both RWR / RADAR this way too. And why do I share it here? That way if anyone could benefit from this too, then great!

1 pointDon't pick the R.530, they said They are not worth the extra weight and drag, they said.

1 pointMore news for you from the project team! As you can see flight tests have commenced. Enjoy the pictures included and don't forget to let me know what do you think about it.

1 pointPlease do not take what I said personally. The content is great that's why I left the original link but removed the others. I tend to be brief but please don't take that as me being rude. I enjoy you guys being here but I also don't want to cut into my golf schedule cleaning up search engines.

1 pointA few days back I indicated that I would announce some plans for WOTR. It is intended that there will be a DLC in the works to bring the 'engine' up to the same spec as our flagship BH&H II product which is releasing soon. The DLC will comprise of the 'engine update' - this is feasible as a DLC as opposed to a new standalone product, as WOTR is already ahead of WOFFUE/PE in terms of 'engine version'. In addition there will be new AC, as well as updated existing flyable AC to bring them in line as well. More details on the WOTR DLC will be made available once we have gotten through the release of BH&HII.

The Sukhoi Su-30MKM (Modernizirovannyi Kommercheskiy Malaysia – Modernized Export Malaysia) is a supermaneuverable fighter of the Royal Malaysian Air Force. It is a variant of the Su-30 series fighters, with many significant improvements over the original Su-30MK export version.[2] The Su-30MKM was developed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau and is based on the Su-30MKI of the Indian Air Force. Both aircraft have common airframe, thrust vectoring engines and digital fly-by-wire system, However the MKM version differs from the MKI mainly in the composition of the on board avionics.[1] It can carry up to 8,000 kg/ 17,650 lb of weapons and payloads over 700 nmi unrefueled combat radius.[2] In 2003, the Su-30MKM was selected by the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF). In August 2003, during the course of President Vladimir Putin’s official visit to Malaysia, the contract for the Su-30MKM aircraft was signed. Except for Russian MiG-29s, the RMAF has previously operated aircraft of Western origin. At the time of delivery the Su-30MKMs were the most advanced and heavy fighters in SouthEast Asia. This is my first attempt at making a Malaysian Su-30MKM, I am still new to the modding community and if anyone has any suggestions or wants to add anything please let me know! Currently working on an Su-30MKI as well.
