6 pointsI'll be posting progress in this thread a little at a time.. the "B" had a really weird nosewheel forward cover.. What's going to be challenging is getting the interior of the canopies fleshed out properly and the dividing internals between the instructor and student stations.

Thank the maker of a V-150 model (a free model but don't know the maker's name) I used it as a blueprint as I found it a lot easier to use than the regular blueprint. Credit goes to https://www.textures.com as I use a lot of their photos to create the skins. Google for some photos and information. And finally not to forget the wonderful site of https://combatace.com and all the nice members and their dedicated support for this game. 2 pointsIt is the Alaska, Bering Strait (1955-2018) remake I had made. You can also tell by the snowy runway textures made by luk1978. @Wrench Just FYI, I had released a scratch made version of the Hawaii terrain, which is in full Real World scale and with all possible airports and cities/towns of the archipelago. I think it's often overlooked.

1 pointI think the guy is confusing blur with bloom. I explicitly wrote in my realSKY Readme file that bloom postprocessing is used by the game when Effects settings are set to Unlimited. This is unrelated to the mod, although realSKY provides better postprocessing given engine limitations. I wonder why I waste time writing Readme files. About effects, the best currently available are from Stary's Unified Effects package. For the ODS mod, me and guuruu have been improving those and fixing any mistakes, typos, wrongly referenced shaders, etc. Maybe some day I'll think about re-releasing them as a standalone package. Much better looking effects are simply not possible, the graphics engine is not capable of features like proper heat waves, volumetric clouds, etc. The game is old, live with it. Besides, to be asking for even better freeware mods than the ones already available is a bit insulting and annoying. I almost lost my sanity while working with obsessive care and precision on some add-ons (which are free). There are people spending their free time to make others happier, with absolutely nothing in return. So let's be grateful for what the community already offers. Rant over.

New canopy structure for the F-35A, F-35B and F-35C v1.1.0 Important ! At first I would like to thank GKABS who was so kind to create this FakePilot element. Indeed, this mod uses the FakePilot method. This is mainly an update for the F-35A/B/C Lightning II V 2.5 for SF2 by FastCargo : https://combatace.com/files/file/9051-f-35abc-lightning-ii-v-25-for-sf2/ Before using this mod you must install the F-35s. The mod contains: - the F-35 data.ini files for each 3 versions of the Lightning II fighter. - The GKABS mod - The FakePilot mod - Update by Paulopanz (see NOTAM) NOTAM for v1.1.0 : - the opening canopy animation of the F-35B is deleted and the position of the new structure is updated with new texture. - by Paulo : - F-35A taxing dancing fixed [Baffmeister's tricks rule ...] - F-35B taxing dancing fixed [a better take off like Seaharrier or Yak-36 should nedeed] - F-35C taxing dancing fixed; medium carrier set [no LPD LPH etc usage like F-35B]; wingfold and canopy opened on deck [the addon parts are on pilot and not seat entries] In order to install it you must put the objects folder into your SF2 directory. Best regards Coupi -

***This is a replacement for the previous version 1.0*** This is a modification to the original bombing range to make the home base airfield a likeness of Nellis AFB and take advantage of some of the new Hi-Res Desert textures now available. It also includes some of the objects from the Mescalero Proving Grounds range made By ChampionsVA56. Nellis AFB is located alot farther South on the map that the original base was. This should eliminate getting aggressor A/C right over Nellis as you take off. A few drone and aggressor Aircraft are included in this download. You'll see these flying around the range, and parked at the Range Airfield. All weapons have been removed, or they are equiped with training missles so they won't hurt you. Only hostile aircraft with a "NationName=RANGE" or "AGRS" will show up on this terrain. A modified version of the NATIONS.INI file has been included. It is the stock file with the "RANGE" and "AGRS" nations added. You need the "RANGE" nation defined if you want the drone's showing up and need the AGRS nation for the Aggressor A/C. Provided your other terrains have their "LimitedNations" setup, you won't see the drones's or Aggressor A/C anywhere except the Range. A modified version of the SQUADRONLIST.INI is included with the USAF Thunderbirds squadron added. The bombing range targets use the layout of the Mescalero Proving Grounds range and the drones and Aggressor A/C use its runway to launch and recover. Note: the target area that was known as the Warehouse Targets is now Friendly and is a called the Range Control Facility. When you choose to do a Close Support mission, your tanks will be lined up defending it from the enemy tanks. One thing that is a "feature" not a bug, is that you will have Friendly A/C spawning from Nellis, sometimes right when you are, as Escort or SEAD flights. You cannot collide with them and they will go right thru you as applicable. Good Hunting! Steve "Hurc" Crane -

SF2 USAF Red Flag Nellis AFB Proving Grounds Viper63a This is my mod install for testing new aircrafts, objects and weapons. Once installed, I backup/zip the whole mod folder so I can reset it after testing whatever mod I am testing. It's also a Red Flag simulator. So if you want to take your favorite plane to Red Flag, here you go! Red Flag Nellis AFB is a stripped down Strikefighter2 installation based in Nellis AFB with only a handful of flyable planes against the pre-loaded USAF F-15s/16s and Navy A-4s/F-5s/F-14s Aggressors (All AIs). There are no Campaigns, only Instant Action and Single Missions. I recommend setting the Enemy AI to "Hard" to get the most out of this install. I added, tweaked, adjusted and created new items for this mod, but the lions share of this mod was created by other faithful modders on CombatAce - ALL CREDITS TO THEM! Thank you! This mod is an expansion for "Hurc's Nellis Range Mod 2.0" mod, so you will need that mod as well... http://combatace.com/files/file/12573-hurcs-nellis-range-mod/ Enjoy! ******************************************************************************* Installation for fully merge installs only...Using SF2 Europe as an example. * Creating a new "StrikeFighters2 Nellis" Mod Folder: In the "C:\...\Thirdwire\" folder.. 1) Copy "StrikeFighters2 Europe.exe" to "StrikeFighters2 Nellis.exe" 2) Copy "StrikeFighters2 Europe.ini" to "StrikeFighters2 Nellis.ini" 3) Create a short cut of "StrikeFighters2 Nellis.exe" on your desktop. 4) Run the "StrikeFighters2 Nellis.exe" short cut. Once the game starts, Exit. 5) You have now created a new "StrikeFighters2 Nellis" mod folder in \user\...\Saved Games\... Mine looks like this...Yours may/will look different. C:\Users\<Your_Name>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Nellis\ * Download and install "Hurc's Nellis Range Mod 2.0": 1) If you haven't already - download, uncompress and install "Nellis Range 2.0" into your new SF2 Nellis Mod Folder. http://combatace.com/files/file/12573-hurcs-nellis-range-mod/ 2) Run the "StrikeFighters2 Nellis" short cut to start the game. 3) In the Single Missision Menu, Ensure\Select the F-15A and the Nellis Terrain. Exit Menu to Main. 4) Optional, set up the Pilot and Options menus to your liking or do this later. Exit Menu to Main. 5) Exit from Main. * Configure and install the "Red Flag Nellis" Mod: In the "C:\Users\<Your_Name>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Nellis\" folder... 1) Under the "Objects" folder, delete both "Aircraft" and "Decals" folders. 2) Uncompress "USAF RED FLAG..." zip file... 3) Copy the contents of "To_Mod_Folder" to your SF2 Nellis Mod Folder. Overwrite. * Last steps... 1) Copy the "INITNELLIS.BMP" file from the new "Red Flag Nellis" Mod folder to "C:\...\Thirdwire\Menu" folder... 2) Edit "C:\...\Thirdwire\StrikeFighters2 Nellis.ini"... a) Under [startup], change "LoadingScreen=" from "Menu\INITSCREEN.BMP" to "Menu\INITNELLIS.BMP". Save. 3) Edit "C:\Users\<Your_Name>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Nellis\Options.ini" file. a) Under [instantAction], change "MissionMap=" from "GermanyCE" to "NELLIS_RANGE". Save. * Now you have completed the install of the "USAF Red Flag Nellis AFB" and "Nellis Range" mod packs. * I recommend setting the Enemy AI to "Hard" to get the most of this pack. * Install any new or your favorite plane mods to test at the Nellis AFB. ******************************************************************************* ********* Credits ******** ******************************************************************************* Hurc's Nellis Range Mod 2.0 - Steve "Hurc" Crane http://combatace.com/files/file/12573-hurcs-nellis-range-mod/ Original Bombing Range/Mescalero Proving Grounds: - Deuces - Bunyap - Wrench - ChampionsVA56 Objects & Mods used for the Nellis Range Update: - Nellis Airbase, buildings/hangars and terrain mod: Me - Static and Target versions of several vehicles or A/C: Me - BANIDOS TEAM: Aircraft Weapon Loading Set (A-10 and F-16 static models) - Amokfloo: ControlTower, ForkLift, FireExtinguisher - Ravenclaw: Fire Trucks - Pureblue and Sundowner: FloodLight, SmallGenerator, ConcreteBlock, SunShelter, and most of the ground equipment - Factory and building Models: Wingwiner - Generic Hangars: CA_Stary - Hi-Res Desert tiles: JSF_Aggie - ChampionsVA56: Mockup AAA and radars, basic range target layout Drones and A/C included: (All downloaded from CombatAce.com) - QF-100D drone - A-4F Aggressor - F-5E Aggressor - F-16C Aggressor - F-16C Thunderbirds - QF-106A drone - BQM-34 Firebee drone ******************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************* SF2 Scooters! The Handley Page Halifax was one of the four-engined heavy bombers of the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. A contemporary of the famous Avro Lancaster, the Halifax remained in service until the end of the war, performing a variety of duties in addition to bombing. The Halifax was also operated by squadrons of the Royal Canadian Air Force, Royal Australian Air Force, Free French Air Force, and Polish forces, and after the Second World War by the Royal Egyptian Air Force, the Armée de l'Air and the Royal Pakistan Air Force. 3D Model (Veltro2k) Textures and FM (Charles) Cockpit (Kesselbrut) Best Sim : Thirdwire unzip ad folders to their appropiate places...have fun THIS MODEL IS ONLY TO BE DISTRIBUTED AS FREEWARE AND IN NO OTHER CIRCUMSTANCE SHALL IT BE USED, EVEN IN PART OF ANYTHING THAT IS PAYWARE. Escalation of Libyan/Egyptian Conflict: In July of 1977, a series of border skirmishes between the neighboring countries escalates into a full blown conflict. After a botched attempt at a peace agreement, Libya invades Egypt and the Arab. The rest of the Arab world, urging for peace, vows to stay out of the conflict while the Soviet Union sends military aid to Libyan and the United States vows to support Egypt as well as equiping its new regional ally with advanced F-4E fighters. This is a "what if?" campaign. Lots of good planes on both sides. Also, lots of similar types on both sides, which makes for some interesting Air to Air engagements. Readme: Installation: Take the LE77 folder out of the zipped folder. Drop it into your Strikefighters2/CAMPAIGNS folder of choice. Install any suggested addons. Have fun. You will need: StrikeFighters2 Strikefighters2Israel Wrench's Easter med terrain. -> http://combatace.com/files/file/12989-eastern-mediterranean-terrain-for-sf2/ You will want: DLC AI Packs 1 and 2 -> https://store.thirdwire.com/store_dlc.htm ...and make them flyable. Stary has awesome new MiG-19 pits, there are MiG-21 pits out there, and the MirageIIIO pit works well for the radar equipped Mirage and the Nesher/Mirage5BA pit for the others. Thanks to Wrench for the very nice terrain. Thanks to those who have worked tirelessly on making stock AI planes flyable with awesome new pits. Thanks to CombatAce.com for being the best place for all your flight sim needs! -

Eastern Mediterranean Terrain for SF2 = For SF2, Any and All = This is a complete rebuild of the WW2 "North Africa" terrain by Edward, for use in modern time (ie: 1970s-to date). It has been completely rebuilt, from the bottom up, and completely retiled using a 'combo set' of various and sundry imported tiles. Also, there are =MANY= totally new tiles, and their assiciated TODs, that can be used for either the Desert or the IsrealME terrain. Read: lots of new transitions that fill in 99.9% of the blanks of the original tilesets. This terrain does =NOT= have the SF2NA "NavalMap" statement activated, either on the _waterbmp or in any ini. It is designed =ONLY= for ground-based air forces. It is highly suggested it remain as such. The LimitedNations statement is set to TRUE, and Egypt is now classed (on this terrain ONLY!) as a Friendly Nation. Don't be surprised to see IDF birds parked on EAF bases, or EAF birds in Turkey and Greece! This terrain covers the area from the bottom of the Gulf of Sirte (S/E corner), north to central Greece, east to western Turkey (Anatolia), back south to Egypt, as far east as the Suez Canal. Covering the Eastern Med, Crete, Agean Sea, and points in-between. See the planning maps for full coverage. It'll make a nice companion Map for both the Modern Libya, and PureBlue's Anatolia terrains. Those familiar with Edward's orignal WW2 version will recognize the base region, but the targeting and tileing have been completly redone, and is more reflective of the Real World . Place names have been changed to local spelling (where discoverable, spellable and pronounable). Expect to find several World Heritage Sites scattered around and, as always, the occasional Easter Egg. Also included is a modifiend SingleMission.ini, that adjusts the minimum values for various missions. Geophysical Disclaimer: some rivers and other water features may not follow their Real Life courses, be placed in their Real Life locations, or exist at all. Several cities and other physical features, and target areas will also fall into that classification. Some target areas (cities, etc) exist only as named places, with no strategic or tactical values. Just someplace to fly over. As always, unzip this to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. It's reccomended you read the document through after unzipping, but -BEFORE- installing. As always, the Notes and Other Nonesense section may make for entertaining reading. Please also read the New Standard Usage Discalimer, as it's been changed slightly to reflect a change in my policy. It's listed at the bottom, in the Legal Statement Section, with the URL back to the CA post. Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein -
