6 pointsyeah, you're gonna have to start dredging pretty soon, given the amount of silt in that river (<gr>)
-
5 pointsI must rework the river mouth, because it does not really fit to the other coastal tiles. So it looks now:

3 pointsKaboom! To be honest, at low altitudes the watertiles are looking not very good.
-
3 pointsF-4Ds eventually got the same wing pylons as F-4Es with the countermeasures mounted at the rear. F-4Cs never got those pylons, and hence never got built-in countermeasures.

2 pointsnope that is a F-4E only manual and yes it shows the AN/ALE-40 control panel , i do have almost everything that is available on flight manuals for the F-4E unfortunately i dont have the late flight manuals for the F-4C/D , but maybe in the future i will get them as well i do have a F-4C/D/E flight manual from 1973 and this one does not show the AN/ALE-40 control panel for all this aircraft , for the F-4C/D we should have a flight manual from 1980 up to 1990 to be sure
-
2 pointsmounting the pylons with the AN/ALE-40 is not helping much , you need in the cockpit , front and rear , the AN/ALE-40 control panel and the wiring for it , with out it no chaff and no flares this is the panel in a F-4F rear cockpit there is a F-4C/D flight manual from 1984 - 1990 available at ebay .com , unfortunately they will not ship to germany so i can not buy it , in this manual you should be able to see if there are this control panels or not https://www.ebay.com/itm/221409795156?hash=item338d0d5c54:g:W1AAAOxyeZNTPytq&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoKLirUgBrrwgX44mMW%2BYEGqf3dnuVjbOqUgnWrqZn1dkjevZl%2FcudPuTGTQBZuvND%2FdqtXlZbwblz3PrH%2FWaQTWDjax4vzMx3NaUUCh8hJin7%2BKXj49IFnUvTMgVmcEOftPX8ML%2BQeHqUMfuqfFqxPuacppiBgFr3o2r%2BDWvL6EoNoXwM7yYd0esizV0KgToPajW8mS5HsSzkEr5QZvHxpo%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR7KK35jUYQ

2 pointsThis is a major problem for the active homing missiles (guidance type 13). The AA-9B is particularly problematic in this case as the seeker range is set to 120000. There is no such thing as an active homing missile with a seeker range of 120000 meters. You can fix this by going to the data file and changing one line. Set SeekerRange=120000.000000 To SeekerRange=20000.000000 This will prevent the computer from firing at you until it can get an accurate range on you with its radar or it closes to within 20000 meters. This will force it to respect the same constraints the player must follow. You can also reduce the firing range by changing this line. MaxLaunchRange=120000.000000 Note that changing this line will also prevent the player from firing the missile at a longer range regardless of other factors. I recommend against changing the SeekerRange value for semi-active homing missiles (guidance type 12) as the computer must first lock you up before firing regardless of the range of the seeker so there is no point in reducing that number. Also, the missile seekers do not appear to be affected by aircraft RCS. I have had MiG-31s fire at my stealth aircraft from the maximum missile range without ever seeing me on radar. This stopped when I adjusted the seeker range.

2 pointsFlying the F-4C in 1986 is a challenge. You hope for the F-15s to take on the Flankers, Fulcrums, and Flogger Ks, but no they're off dealing with some Frogfoots, so it's up to the Weekend Warriors from California in their 20 year old crates to deal with them.

2 pointsBack in the Bad Old Days, attrition was going to be a serious problem for NATO forces, forcing you to sometimes go with what you got for the mission tasking. So let's go kill a Hardened Shelter. This is called the I Lost sight of it: Where The F**k is it???!!!??? maneuver. Lost my wingman who decided to go chasing after a Sam Site....and ran into a nest of ZSU-23's. But the target was hit, and home at last.

2 pointsI was not happy with the Mirage IIIEBR from the download, because it is a EBR-2 with canards. I wanted one without canards. So i took the Mirage5SDE, from TKs DLC pack 28, which looks like a Mirage IIIE, gave it the blue stock french Mirage IIIC skin (okay i modded it a little bit), made some decals magic and there it is: Mirage IIIEBR close to the look of 1982 (I know, they had not had the name FAB on the fuselage, but with it it looks much cooler.) If you meet a argentinian Mirage IIIEA in the air you have a plane and weapons of the same performance. Then decide the skill of the pilot.

1 pointThanks for all your replies above. Much appreciated! I did reload TM drivers and trying the old Controls files is on my list of things to do but.... Here's a new twist in the last hour that may be a solution but not THE answer.... I transferred some old original install files from my old computer and so far SF2V and SF2NA work fine. So I guess I can keep downloading all my old stuff one at a time from the external drive I saved it all on. (I now have an excuse for the 10 year old crap I've got on my machine!?!?) I'll keep messing around with the new purchased SF2 Complete but I may have wasted $99.99 looking for an answer to a problem I didn't have. Thanks again to all.

1 pointThis discussion includes Ed Rasimus and other F-4 pilots describing chaff/flare deployment on F-4s, including clarification on the F-4C and F-4D in the 1970s: F-4 chaff/flare loads (narkive.com) As I originally posted: F-4Cs: never, F-4Ds late 70s/early 80s.

1 pointI can assure you that the F-4D got the countermeasures retrofitted toward the late 70s early 80s. They wouldn't have put on the pylons without putting in the panels. The F-4Cs were going out of service, and therefore did not get updgraded.

1 pointI haven't looked into your campaign data yet, but that's the most probable reason why it ends prematurely. You can make the ground war start at a later day, not as soon as the campaign starts. You can find out how by looking at the campaign data I made for ODS 30AE.

1 pointJust learn about Blender and Virtual 3D Modeling couple days ago.. I Haven't create anything yet.. just slowly learning about it. For now, what I can do is scavenging free 3d model, import, export, basic blender tools, what tools for what, put the result in SF Mod, trial and error.. etc.. time consuming and head-scratching.. but its fun! Thanks Mr. Mue for this Gem, and Mr.Nyghtfall, who patiently tutoring me.

Many changes have been effected, they are listed in the 'ChangeLog', in the "Notes" section. Weapons (ok, drop tanks), pilot figures are included, and a NEW engine engine sound. New versions of the 'box art' style Hangar and Loading screens, now fully SF2 compliant. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Wolfs original readmes, when discoverable, are included for historical purposes. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Good Hunting!! wrench kevin stein -

This model represents the long-hull straight-deck Essex class aircraft carriers, beginning with CV-14 USS Ticonderoga circa 1944. These ships were about 5 meters longer than the original CV-9 Essex, and featured heavier anti-aircraft armament. Two versions of the ship are included: The original WW2 configuration, and the jet-capable Korean War era modernization. Decals for each unit are included. Random aircraft parking has been designed for currently available models with folding wings. In addition to its complement of aircraft, each ship is armed with a battery of twin 5" guns and single 5" guns, plus a vast number of 40mm Bofors and 20mm Oerlikon anti-aircraft guns. Please see the readme for full details and credits. Because this is a very high-poly, high-definition model, instructions are also included to improve framerate for those of us without premium supercomputers. This model is dedicated to Wrench, who requested it, and who provides us with great playgrounds for all our toys. -

P-51C Mustang, ETO by Wolf257 = For SF2, Any and All* = *Note: reccomended to have at least SF2 Expansion Pak 1, and be at the latest patch level, as the decals referenced on the Generic NM skin call to several stock 3W decals. If not at that level, you'll have to find alternative serial numbers and period-correct USAAF national insignia decals to use* Some slight modifications and tweeks to Wolf's P-51C "Malcolm Hood" USAAF Mustang bring it closer in line for SF2 usage. Included are 3 skins: 356th FS, with 99.9% hisorically accurate codes, serials and nose arts 'Generic' Olive Drab 'Generic' Natural Metal. All skins are in jpg format, and decal randomization is set to TRUE. 2 Data inis are suppliled; one is the original from way back when, and the one being used now has some of the SF2 statements. It's not perfect; it seems works well enough, but does need further adjustments and fine-tuning by an expert. A new SF2 version of the original 'box art' Hangar screen is included, as are the needed weapons (ie: the drop tank), sounds and the pilot figure. Happy Landings wrench kevin stein -

*********************************** Japanese Aircraft Pack for Strike Fighters : Project 1 by Armourdave *********************************** build 27-11-2004 *********************************** Installation *********************************** Unzip the japanese_aircraft.zip to your \objects\aircraft folder Move the nations.ini to your \flight folder. *********************************** Pack introduction & History *********************************** ******* A6M ******* The Mitsubishi A6M Zero-Sen legendary status mirrored the fortunes of the rising sun, in which four years, the sun would finally set. For the Japanese and its former enemies, the A6M was the symbol of Japanese air power. The A6M fighter marked the beginning of a new epoch in naval aviation and was the first shipboard fighter capable of surpassing land-based aircraft.1 With its tight turning radius, it was an extremely deadly weapon in a dogfight, and was famous for its ability to outmaneuver, Brewster F2A Buffaloes, Curtiss P-40s and Grumman F4F Wildcats. As early as 1937, Claire Chennault, the author of 'The Role of Defensive Pursuit,' warned the USAAF about the dangers of Japanese air power. Apparently his warnings were ignored, as the superiority of the A6M was a complete surprise to the American forces.2 As leader of the Flying Tigers, Chennault constantly stressed to his pilots, 'Never try to turn with a Zero. Always get above the enemy and try to hit him with the first pass.'3 Because of the A6Ms exceptional range and performance, it was to bear the brunt of the action, of almost every military engagement in the Pacific, until the end of the war. 4 ******* Ki-43 ******* The Hayabusa was a sleek little dogfighter, relatively slow and lightly armed (just two fuselage-mounted machine guns at a time when other fighters were carrying multiple machine guns or even cannon in their wings). At first, these weaknesses seemed not to matter, but as time went on, the Hayabusa was totally outclassed by its opponents in every respect except tight-turning dogfighting. And even that advantage counted little against enemy aircraft that refused to meet the Hayabusa on its own terms. Unfortunately for Japan, the Hayabusa had to continue on as a front-line fighter to the end, because its successor-the Ki-84 Hayate (which see)-was never available in sufficient quantities, and was not as reliable as the older fighter. Interestingly, design work on the Ki-43 began even before its predecessor, the Ki-27 Nate, entered service with the JAAF. In December 1937, the Army told the Nakajima company to design a new fighter to supercede the Ki-27. The new plane would be faster in level flight (300+ mph), swifter-climbing (5 minutes to 16,405 ft.), longer-ranged (a radius of action of 500 statute miles), with the same armament and maneuverability as the earlier fighter. The Nakajima team, led by Hideo Itokawa, worked steadily for a year, and the new plane was first flown early in January 1939. ******* G4M2 ******* Designed to an incredibly demanding 1938 Navy specification, the G4M family (given the code-name "Betty" by the Allies) was the Imperial Japanese Navy's premier heavy bomber in World War II; yet the insistence on the great range of 2,000 nautical miles (3,706 km) with full bomb load made the saving of weight take priority over defence and the aircraft was highly vulnerable and not very popular. The wing was of the same Mitsubishi 118 section as the Zero-Sen and boldly designed as an integral fuel tank to accommodate no less than 5,000 litres (1,100 gal). The company kept recommending four engines and being overruled by the Navy, which, during the early flight-test stage, wasted more than a year, and 30 aircraft, in trying to make the design into the G6M bomber escort with a crew of ten and 19 guns. Eventually the G4M1 was readied for service as a bomber and flew its first missions in South East China in May 1941. More than 250 operated in the Philippines and Malayan campaigns, but after the Solomons battle in August 1942 it began to be apparent that, once intercepted and hit, the unprotected bomber went up like a torch (hence the Allied nickname "one-shot lighter"). Total production reached the exceptional quantity of 2,479, most of them in the many sub-types of G4M2 with increased fuel capacity and power. Finally the trend of development was reversed with the G4M3 series with full protection and only 968 gal fuel. *********************************** Known Issues *********************************** * Hires textures might cause you problems if your graphics card is from the previous century * Ki-43 has no fast prop. * G4M2 is AI only so dont even bother *********************************** Aircraft Files *********************************** All aircraft models, cockpit models and cockpit textures authored by David (AD).
