Frenchie, already have the Dauntless skin done (just need a better model than Wolf's 2005 lod -- and we can't and WON'T use any DAT stuff) I if I need a translator, you are TOP of my list!!! SB2C (4) done - as we don't have the -5 with one-piece canopy A-26 done Hellcat (albeit a -3) done Saafire III done (several years ago) Ki-43 done (albeit ArmorDave's Ki-43-I, as opposed to the IIb, IIIb variants that were actuall used) F8F -done (one of the stock skins is AdA) F4U-7 - long time done! AU-1 needs creation (easy, as it's mapped as the F4U-7) Spit 9 (stock) although I may do a squadron specific skin

Here's my fictional mod of the export version of the PZL-230 belonging to the Ukrainian Air force. The original aircraft and templates were made by @Leopardo. It uses mostly weapons available in the RSSW pack by @Snailman. Five skins are included: green camo based on a historical Su-25 livery grey camo based on the original skin available with the PZL-230F green splinter camo based on a modern Ukrainian Su-25 livery blue splinter camo based on a Ukrainian MiG-29 camo by @EricJ grey pixel camo based on the 299BRTA Su-25 livery To install, copy the contents of the 'to mod folder' into your mod folder. Overwrite when asked - I modified some of the weapons to make them work with this aircraft. Read the Knowledge Base for more information about installing mods. The contents of this pack are subject to the Combatace Freeware License and cannot be distributes as payware.

Arriving over Khe Sahn Wingo gunning troops in contact. I'm sitting on the ground by now with the rudder gone and lots of holes in the bird just off the opposite end of the runway. Forgot what key was mapped to shut the engine off. Last pass over the target area, NVA gunner got me good. You can see the smoke in the distance.

This is reenactment of 1989 Gulf of Sidra Incident with some real footage On 4 January 1989, two United States Navy F-14 Tomcats shot down two Soviet manufactured Libyan MiG-23 Floggers which the Americans believed were attempting to engage them, as had happened eight years prior during the Gulf of Sidra incident, in 1981. The engagement took place over the Mediterranean Sea about 40 miles (64 km) north of Tobruk, Libya.

Go to Gallery - Members Albums and make yourself an album and load your screenshots here at CA. I can't figure out why the AI F4 would accelerate past a MiG17 putting him front of his guns.

There are several different tapes of the audio from the different cockpits and over the radio. When it was going down as it happened, i did not hear the call about the Mig firing a possible Apex. At that time during the engagement the 6th Fleet Commander (Vice Admiral Williams) asked his 6th Fleet TAO (me) whether or not the Migs had fired, to which I responded- don’t know. That time corresponds to when on one of the cockpit tapes you can hear one of our guys call a possible Mig missile launch. when I reviewed the cockpit tapes and audio after the fact, prior to release, that was not clear. If you do an internet search there is one of the tapes out there where it sounds like one of our guys makes that call, but again not clear and might have referred to a visual on one of our missiles. We do know now the Migs never activated their radar, although we did not know that as it went down. The Migs flew a hostile profile consistent with a radar launch, but could also have been an IR launch which a version of the Apex could have done. I’ve never heard in the later analysis for sure whether or not the Migs fired. I leave it out there from one who was on the scope and on the radio through the engagement, that maybe.

Quick update - saw often times there would be deep skid marks along these, so made a shot at that and updated panel connectors...

Thank you Nightshade, appreciate that consideration but I always prefer to scratch build. I'm still waiting for some reference info, but thought I'd mock something up so the team can react to before I return next week. Here was an initial pass - of course eventually I would still need to adjust speculars/lighting and optimize the bump maps but you get a general idea of the initial form, colors, etc. It is a single strip about 90m wide and ~1345m long so need guidance on those dimensions and welcome any other changes needed.

Wrench, if you can wait for a while until after the Thanksgiving Holiday I'm sure I could build you what you need if you're interested. I'm already working on an improved dirt airstrip (still work in progress) as a special request so wouldn't be that much trouble.

Can't be worse than my French -- which is a close to zero as can be without actually being zero!!! downloaded the runway mod above, but it's borked. "unexpected end of archive". So, via hex editing and renaming, I'm building "my own" version of a PSP runway from Runway3. I"ll post images when I've got some (still redoing the airfield's skins)

I just got back from seeing Midway and it was better than I thought it was going to be. I did feel like it was a bit too much the story of Dick Best and VB-6 and not enough the story of the Battle of Midway. I think that the overall story in the 1976 version was better in that respect.
