    1. F8U-1 Crusader Skin Pack 6- 1958 Lebanon Crisis

      The sixth and GRAND FINALE skin pack for your F8U-1 Crusader.

      In February 1958, VF-32 went aboard the newly commissioned USS Saratoga for the carrier's first Mediterranean cruise as part of Carrier Air Wing 3. During that cruise, the Swordsmen took part in the Lebanon Crisis by providing air cover for the landing of 1,800 US Marines at Beruit in July 1958.

      Included here are the VF-32 'Swordsmen' as they appeared in 1958 during that crisis. The CAG bird (Commander of Air Group) is provided as its own DISTINCT skin.

      An installation read-me file is included.

      BONUS!!......a new Loadoutscreen music file!! Can you guess what 1960's era movie and what scene it's from?

    3. A-4G Skyhawk (VF-805)

      A-4G Skyhawk
      (r1 - 1976 - VF-805)

      This mod should ultimately cover the whole VF-805 career of the Australian A-4G, however since it started for a very specific project of mine, it will be released as-is and updated whenever (if ever) the rest is done.
      For that reason, if you have an interest on the topic and are willing to correct or complete the set, do feel free to do so, it's a safer bet than waiting for the next release.

      It has been built with/for SF2, it requires Thirdwire's A-4E and A-4F to work, there should be no other prerequisite.

      r1 includes only the mid-70's skin, as my project focuses on the year 1976.
      The skin and decals are as correct as I'm willing/able to do based on Thirdwire's skin.
      All plane and serial numbers are correctly paired and historically correct (all planes crashed before 1976 are not present).
      The only inaccuracy is the fact that some of the planes present were affected to VC-724, however, in case of conflict and to cope with attrition they would have been transferred to VF-805, hence their presence in this mod.

      Gunrunner

      Grey areas :

      - On most pictures the A-4G in '76 had the area surrounding the gun muzzle painted black, on some, a square area on the fuselage was painted black and on other, nothing was painted black at all, no text gives any reason for that or precise reference, therefore it's been left as stock.
      - Likewise, most sources claim some A-4G were not fitted with guns, without providing the serial number of those planes or whether this was a temporary or permanent change; Moreover, I couldn't find photographic evidence of a gunless A-4G.
      - The current INI is a hybrid of A-4E and A-4F, uses an A-4F cockpit with A-4E avionics, I lack sources and will to do any better at the moment, it will have to do.

      Optionnally, you can add VF-805 "Checkerboards" to your SquadronList.ini, however it is only a nicety and the skin doesn't rely on it.

      [squadronxxx]
      Name=RAN_805
      DisplayName=805 Sq. "Checkerboards"
      Nation=AustralianNavy

      TO DO :

      - Replace the antennas by accurate ones.
      - Have missile rails for outer pylons use with Sidewinders.
      - Add the late 60's VF-805 skin (without checkerboard).
      - Add the early 70's VF-805 skin (with checkerboard on the rudder).
      - Add the late 70's VF-805 skin (grey camo with knight).

      Licence :

      See the CA Freeware Licence Agreement : http://combatace.com/topic/55729-freeware-licensing/

      Credits :

      Thirdwire for the A-4E model, original skin and INI.
      Wilco for the angled refueling probe replacement and landing lights.

    8. MQ-10A Kodiak

      MQ-10A Kodiak – Release Version 4.0

      Welcome to the Kodiak release version 4.0. This plane was conceived out of my need to find something to effectively kick-start my creative juices and prime me mentally to tackle a few of my languishing projects.

      The MQ-10A is obviously a fictitious UAV on steroids. I best described it once as the unholy union of an A-10 and a Predator drone. It’s capable of carrying pretty much everything and oh, did I mention it VTOLS? Yeah, I wet myself a little too...

      Please fly it, enjoy it for what it is and go blow some crap up…

      NOTES:

      1. Engine nacelles are rotated via what ever you have mapped for VTOL. Max VTOL weight is around 47,000
      2. Do not be bashful in criticism or critique.
      3. Installation is easy… decompress and cut/paste it in your aircraft folder. It has been tested on all version 2 games but should work in version 1 as well.

      CHANGE LOG / FIXES:

      1. The weird porpoises issue has been fixed. The Kodiak is again a rock-sold weapon platform.
      2. Right, wrong, or indifferent, I’ve settled on a very basic if not extremely functional projected cockpit format.

      ACKNOWLEDGMENTS:

      1. I pilfered the HUD stuff from Fastcargo’s F-35 bird.
      2. I pilfered FM tidbits from a lot of different birds. ** Once I finalize on what will be enclosed in the final product I will include full and complete disclosure.
      3. It includes a default Olive Drab scheme and all layered paintshop pro templates to assist in the creation of more.

      Afterburner TGA by dfang
      SF2 Updates and Loading Screens by NeverEnough

      This is a complete SF2 installation package for the beautiful Tornado F3 by Bobrock and the many talented modders listed above. The Effect Emitters have been updated to January 2011 patch level. The Wingtip Vortices have been changed so they move properly with the swingwing position. The new TorAfterBurnerEmitter utilizes the January 2011 Particle System combined with one of dfang's afterburner tga's to give the model an afterburner plume similar to photos I've found of the Tornado F3 in warp drive. Also included are two additional loading screens of the 43 Squadron Special Colors Tornado F3.

      To use the additional 43 Squadron Loading Screens, change the line in the Tornado_F3.INI as shown below:

      [AircraftData]
      AircraftFullName=Tornado F3
      AircraftShortName=Tornado
      AircraftDataFile=Tornado_F3_data.ini
      CockpitDataFile=Tornado_F3_cockpit.ini
      HangarScreen=F3_HANGARSCREEN.bmp
      LoadingScreen=F3_Loading.bmp<<<<Change this to TorF3_Loading.bmp or TornF3_Loading.bmp

      For those of you who have not installed Bobrock's Tornado F3 in the Second Generation Thirdwire sims because there was no SF2 conversion, you owe it to yourselves to take this opportunity to correct that omission. Bobrock's Tornado F3 is really absolutely stunning!

    14. Bf109g-10 JG 11 'Kanonenboot'

      Bf109g-10/U4, I./JG 11, Germany, Early 1945.

      By this date, JG 11 was equipped essentially with Bf109g-10 and g-14 aircraft.The yellow JG 11 Reich Defence fuselage band should not be confused with the narrower Eastern Front markings. THe yellow rudder should theoretically be accompanied by a yellow band around the nose - the final type of quick recognition markings introduced in early 1945. Needless to say, by this stage, official directives were not always scrupulously respected!

      Despite the fact that MG151/20 gondolas were rarely if ever fitted to g-10 type 109s, this aircraft has them fitted as standard for all air defence missions.

      JG 300 was originally created in July 1943 as a Wilde Sau free-range night-fighter Geschwader, but owing to the high accident rate and the relative lack of success, was
      transferred at the very beginning of 1944 to daylight operations.

    16. WGr.21 Airborne Mortar tweaks

      Modified ini files for the Dev A Team WGr21 weapons add-on.

      You will need to download the original files here:
      http://cplengineeringllc.com/SFP1/
      Under "Weapons and Vehicles"

      This will modify the WGr21 projectiles into IRMs, but without the growl or ability to manoeuvre. Use as unguided rockets from a distance of about 800+ metres. Too close and you will find that your probability of missing actually gets higher - we have cheated a bit, in order to try and get as close as possible to the
      originals, which detonated automatically between 1000 and 1500 metres after launch, according to fuzing.

      These are anti-aircraft projectiles, and were not used against ground targets.

      For use with the JG 300 Bf109g-10 to be found here:

    23. Modern RAF Smart Bombs

      Modern RAF Smart Bombs.

      Includes:

      -Enhanced Paveway II

      -Enhanced Paveway III

      -Paveway IV

      In order to simulate the fact that these weapons can be either GPS or laser guided depending on what the aircrew decide before dropping them I have included two of each type. One is GPS guided and the other is laser guided. On my RAF aircraft (GR4, GR7, GR9 and Typhoon) that use these bombs I have used the loadout.ini file to load a mix of GPS and laser guided versions of the same bomb to imitate that flexability in the air.
      Credit goes to 331KillerBee for his Ordnance Shop II where these weapons have been modified from.

      It uses Pasko's "SAM Gunner" since I have no modeling skills and is setup for SF2. It can be of course adapted for SF1 but that requires a bit of work that can be found in the SF2 Knowledge Base and is a drag and drop as all files and folders are already organized.

      Afghanistan rules of thumb:

      Kandahar-Shindand-Herat-Qala I Naw "ring" stay above 24,000ft MSL + for traveling. When you break that (usually 23,000 ft) you may get shot at. Other areas roughly 22,000 ft MSL + is a good altitude to stay above but again use flares conservatively. It's not very accurate but if enough are fired you will get shot down. I've seen earlier versions of this shred SEAD flights.

      This is strictly for What If scenarios or installs rather than real world setups as so far there is no heavy use of SAMs in-country.
