5 pointsFun with rockets. Type "Sneb68" (ravenclaw armory quality hardware), Ive increased the CEP value to 75. This gives a much nicer "shotgun" pattern with single rockets sometimes crossing my flightpath Animation times are now these, that way the fins are opening much faster, right after the rocket leaves the pod ReleaseAnimationTime=0.100000 ReleaseAnimationDelay=0.050000 The Matra LR F1 and F4 pods have a firing rate of 30 rockets/sec, I have changed both pods to this rate. Much denser salvo firing.

3 pointsDCS World 2.5 recently came out of Beta and was released fully to the public. Primarily this means that there is again only one DCS version in development and 2.5 replaces 1.5 as the major branch for players, hopefully simplifying things a bit. The old 1.5 version will still be available for now but will not be developed further I understand. If you were not aware DCS has been going through a transition period where the old 1.5 game engine was being used alongside several Beta versions including 2.2 and 2.5 which could do a few things 1.5 could not. A-10C - yes the engines are just big hair dryers and produce power accordingly New features The main change with the DCS World 2.5 game engine was the transition to Direct X 11 (DX11) from Direct X 9 (DX9), so a major overhaul of the graphics engine that can utilise more modern techniques and hardware. F-5E flies through the valley of the trees R.I.P. Graphics Card Unfortunately, it appears my graphics card is at the low end of the spectrum for this game. My trusty MSI GTX 780 which I obtained solely because I knew it ran BMS Falcon 4 at the time is sitting at max puff, and despite my best efforts to fiddle with the GFX settings is not doing much more than warming up the room after 10 mins of playtime. I do actually get around 80 to 140 fps on the rather low settings, but I am still getting stutter at low level over the building and trees so have had to turn off Antialiasing. Sadly, although the move from DX9 to DX11 will benefit the game for the future, for me at the moment on my rig it looks far worse than Strike Fighters 2 (DX10) and BMS Falcon (DX9) because I can max them out. That shouldn’t put too many off hopefully. I am like many waiting for the new NVIDIA 2080/1180 or whatever, and hoping sanity prevails and virtual currency miners stop buying up all the cards to make an extra 3 dollars a year. Revamped Caucasus - might look better with some new hardware Unified Terrain Maps With the v2.5 release I could finally install the Nevada map that I purchased in 2015 and run it alongside the revamped Caucasus map and even think about getting some Nevada campaigns. Previously Nevada only worked in the Beta versions so I was only using the old Caucasus map in 1.5 up to now. The Draken MiG-21bis pilot hoped to pick up some bargains from the shopping mall later The Sun my eyes! 3D trees Not just 3D trees but collideable 3D trees, and this along with the 3D buildings is where a lot of the extra system resource is required. This will certainly make things more interesting for Chopper pilots! Some may remember as clouds and 2D trees were introduced to Strike Fighters through patches and mods that the system requirements to run them also increased exponentially. Some asked TK back them to optimise the game engine – and with SF2 there was a big revamp in the engine, but still required a lot more power to run it. Today I think I run it on max settings through brute force computing power as opposed to code optimisation. Trees - thousands of em! Las Vegas is vast in size and polycount

2 pointsSo, I decided to go ship-hunting with my French lunchbox. Never mind that it sounds like a weed-eater, is slower than a fart in a staff meeting, and is generally a suicide mission for anything that finds it. But it has the advantage of being GREAT in a low=level turning fight, and put 3 migs in the water trying to catch us. Results??? 4 dead Sampans, 3 Mig-21 Mongols in the water, a boatload of SAM misses, ran out of gas on FINAL, and a heck of a lot of fun.

This is a rework of the available A-1H Skyraider skins, the project started when I noticed there was a clipping issue on the original user made skins, after the stock aircraft had been made flyable etc. being an OCD sufferer I couldn't live with it, so I had to comb the DATA.INI of the aircraft to find the issue, which I never didi, probably one number out of place , or something of that nature. So I re did the whole data file, using a frankenstien of a couple of the available ones, mainly Wrench's , so worry ye not good campers, very little has been altered, so the A/C still operates as Wrench intended, just NO CLIPPING !!! ................YAY !! RESULT !! HAPPY BLOODY DANCE !! ...... Anyhow, I then went on to re do all the skins, utilising the templates from bot Wrench, and Nyghtfall, so a mix and match of those as well, I hope you like and enjoy the results !! Included are VA-35 VA-52 ( two versions, one dirty one clean , the clean one has new decals for the squadron markings made by me ) VA-65 (Early version ) VA-65 ( USS Enterprise ) VA-85 VA-105 ( A really shiny pristine skin ) VA-176 (USS Shangri La ) VA-176 (USS Intrepid) the reworked data.ini to stop the clipping issue Decals ( of course....no use without 'em as I have altered theDECAL.INI of all the skins , 'cos I like to make trouble harharhar ) All the Sounds needed Finally the weapons ie drop tanks and the bog bomb, and the Pilot I myself use for this aircraft, oh yes and all the screens, both in hi res, and lo res if you need lo res screens for any reason. One final note, on the VA-176 ( Intrepid ) skin, two of the aircraft have kill markings, I have put the entry to enable those in the DECAL.INI of that particular aircraft, however I have them disabled, as in reality the Bu Numbers of the skins and the Actual aircraft are not the same, and I couldnt be bothered to make the correct bu numbers for thos 2 particular aircraft, however if you do not have OCD, and you want the marking showing ( they are keyed to the correct nose numbers ) the just remove the hash marks in the DECAL.INI [Decal019] MeshName=Fuselage DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=LEFT //FilenameFormat=A-1H/VA176a/D/kills <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< THAT THERE !!! Position=-0.70,0.70 Scale=0.55 DecalMaxLOD=3 Thats about it, please enjoy, and please leave feedback if you like...........................cheers !! OH yes, I forgot one last thing, I have re-enabled the wingfold system, , yes , yes I know its not perfect, as it leaves the stores hanging in a weightless environment, but hey ho, if ya dont like it, eith re disable it or , simply ignore it !! so canopy opens with SHIFT-0 and the wingfold is SHIFT-9. -

1 point7 weeks until my oldest is no longer a high school student. then two more months til she moves about 50 miles away to her college. round here, just the usual turn of the wheel. got the bright idea to revamp ODS (yes again), only took a month and a half to see bickering on the thread on a similar topic, would be appreciated to pick yer brain on Buffs and Stratotankers as they were in the 80s. have some things going for ODS Buffs and tankers from 1973 through 1994 . an area i think you have some expertise in

1 pointI'm working on a new website ... changes here don't reflect final product etc, etc, I've made more changes since this. In other news I managed to the land the UH-1 Huey in DCS without blowing up. Then I got excited on the next attempt and blew up.

1 pointWhat can be done out of MarcFighters Mi-8 until we have a complete new one. If you guys have any ideas, let me know. I know the tailrotor is in the wrong position for a 17 and some other parts are wrong to, but that is all I can do, without remodeling it from scratch I have so far those versions as WIP -Mi-8TB "DDR" Hip-E and F -Mi-8TVK "UDSSR" -Mi-8MTV5 -Mi-17V5 Here the are the pics, some has already seen them in the screenshot section.
