Heinkel HE-111-H The Heinkel He 111 was a German bomber aircraft designed by Siegfried and Walter Günter at Heinkel Flugzeugwerke in 1934. Through development it was described as a "wolf in sheep's clothing". Due to restrictions placed on Germany after the First World War prohibiting bombers, it masqueraded as a civil airliner, although from conception the design was intended to provide the nascent Luftwaffe with a fast medium bomber Credits: // aircraft model by Veltro2k // cockpit by Stary (with edits as He-111 stand-in) // He-111 destroyed model by Capun // flight model, painting, decals and data by Charles THIS MODEL IS ONLY TO BE DISTRIBUTED AS FREEWARE AND IN NO OTHER CIRCUMSTANCE SHALL IT BE USED, EVEN IN PART OF ANYTHING THAT IS PAYWARE. It's the time of default skin for the most popular stock aircraft of all flight sims about WW1 - SPAD 13. I tried to add some "photorealistic" textures for more impressive image of this aircraft. I removed wing cockardes and rudder's tricolor from "Decals.ini" because they were integrated in my skin. Put folder "D' into "Objects/Decals/SPAD13". Eugene -

3 pointsDogfight a MiG-17 or MiG-19 with an unslatted F-4J, then repeat the fight with a slatted F-4E. The hard wing has less drag, so it is better in level flight, climbs, dives... anytime you need acceleration/power, except in turns. But if you need to turn, the slatted F-4E flies rings around unslatted F-4's. If you are a patient boom and zoom energy fighter type, the hard wing F-4s are the way to go. But if you have to get in close, the slatted F-4s are the only way to go and the much lighter F-4F is the king. The key to the slats wasn't just to improve turn performance, but to completely eliminate the nasty adverse yaw induced flat spin that occurred at high AoA at any speed. The Navy believed the solution was better pilot training, but when the F-4S finally got slats, the Navy was admitting the safety and agility were worth the loss of specific excess power. I enjoy flying both. I like the challenge of fighting MiG up close with a hard wing. But one on one, it is almost impossible to beat a MiG-17 until he runs low on fuel and tries to run away. You can stay above him and go faster, but you can't get behind him. With a slatted F-4E, there is no AI flown plane in the game I can't beat, even the F-15A. If you don't need the gun, the slatted F-4S has agility/safety and the best original radar (not counting modern refits with Hornet and Falcon radars). If you don't need the slats or gun, the RAF F-4M with turbofans is the hotrod at subsonic speeds with more climb and acceleration. If I can only fly one, it would be a slatted USAF F-4E. In any given time frame, USAF F-4Es received continuous field mods that kept them competitive in both air and ground attack. The radar, navigation, and bombing systems were constantly improved/digitized. A handful of the last F-4Es even got a frameless front windshield. But the slatted F-4S is a close 2nd.

Package contains 6 helicopters with new FLIGHT MODEL made by me: AH-1F_90 by yakarov79 AH-1J_80 by yakarov79 AH-64A by yakarov79 CH-53D_82 by yakarov79 Mi-8T by Marcfighters UH-1H by yakarov79 Before install backup yout older files. All helicopters comes as separate install with all needed files (weapons, decals etc). I need more testers and more informations to finish this project. They will be part of bigger ODS 30 Anni helicopters pack. I added temporary CAS mission for Mi-8, to test AI attacks. Apache is using Helfires in fake pods, cause AI don't like guided missiles. You must rearm player helicopter for normal missiles before mission to have TV screen active. Pls, test these models and tell me your opinions. HELICOPTERS WITH COMMON MODEL.7z READ ME.txt -

2 pointsPresently the missiles have a "super seeker" when "Seeker Uncage" is enabled. Thats what makes it easy to get a lock... seeker scans a 80° cone. I'm working on a mod which is fixing this for all AIM-9. Then you have to point the seeker with its 2° instant FOV (9J/N/P) directly at the target. Makes it much harder vs the nimble MiG-17/19.

1 pointI want to say I saw an armed APC at Fort Irwin but that was a foreign (I think Chinese) ambulance that was armed. Unfortunately I don't have any photos and recalling from memory. And I used to drive a M1068 for awhile when I was at Fort Hood back in the day.

1 pointFriday 13th November 1917 8.46am Bruay, RFC 40 A and B flights take to the air in beastly weather on an offensive patrol. "Spiv" Taylor, cold, wet and miserable, cannot understand the sense in it and is beginning to regret his duty to the King and country. Not that he is endeared to the silly old fool but the Poms make you swear allegiance to someone when signing up and old Georgy boy is it. And it's not my bloody country anyway. Struth it's bloody freezing up here. Be good to get back to a stiff drink and a warm fire. Suddenly V-strutters bounce the flight. Outta nowhere. "Spiv" completely unprepared and out of his depth, panics and shoots at anything, wild eyed with adrenalin and scared witless. And then as unexpectedly it began, it abruptly ends. The skies are empty of aircraft. Where did they go? Where is B flight? But this is no time for philosophical naval gazing. Time to vamoose before the bastards come back. He heads west. And safely returns to his airfield. Only to find a pal is missing!

1 pointThank you, I'm going to try. I think there is a MiG-29K model around the site in the MiG-29C Hyper Fulcrum What If. Making the tailhook dissapear it would make a pretty accurate model for the MiG-35. For now, I'm going to stick to what you say, maybe some day I will have guts and start 3D modeling myself...

1 pointWing slats were added to improve high AoA performance so you can fly slower with less buffeting and they may have helped with the adverse Yaw issue. But they did add a bit of weight to the E Block 50 and when they are out there is more drag so climb, & acceleration would go down compared to an earlier E model. It was a bit easier to pull G and exceed airframe limits over earlier Es and it has slightly improved turn performance but really nothing significant just like any of these aircraft where they just added a little strake on here or there. The recommendation was to keep under 25 degrees AoA because above that there is higher speed bleed off compared to the hard wing versions and less lift.

1 pointA question: Is someone interested in a mod of BoB2 terrain with focus on Operation Overlord? To simulate the allied invasion it would be neccessary to rework a major part of northern France and to implement a network for strategic nodes for a campaign.

1 pointAttention Pilots! It is our pleasure to announce some new Collector Planes for the IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles series! We are still waist deep in Battle of Normandy and Flying Circus Vol. II development, but we have decided to push on with our partner Ugra Media and bring you a few more iconic and important aircraft! The following planes have long been discussed as possible projects or desired by community members and now we are able to make the commitment to build them. So, without further delay here they are. - C-47A Skytrain - Lisouov Li-2 (Soviet version of the DC-3/C-47) - Sopwith Snipe 7.F1 - Siemens-Schuckert D.IV First, let’s cover the C-47A. We already have the C-47A as an AI piloted aircraft in Great Battles. Many of you have requested that we make a cockpit for it and make it flyable, so we are. This will give the Americans and British a cargo plane, much like the Ju-52 on the German side. The Ju52 has been a good seller for us and a unique experience for fans of IL-2. We want to do the same with the C-47. The C-47 is the military version of the venerable Douglas DC-3 which first took flight in the 1930’s and served all over the world during WWII and very far beyond. Most notably it was the main troop transport for American and British paratroopers during the invasion of Normandy. As you have seen in an earlier Developer Diary, we have already built some awesome looking U.S. Army paratroopers that will jump from C-47s in BON. We are also making British paratrooper models as well., but they are not ready to be shown yet. The C-47 will provide a great new way to fly for the Allies. Work on the C-47 cockpit has already begun so we have decided to open Pre-Orders today as is our tradition for new Collector Planes in development. Please show the ‘Gooney Bird” your love! Pre-Order is available in the IL-2 Official Webstore for just $19.99- a 20% discount off MSRP. Second, let’s talk briefly about the Lisunov Li-2. The Li-2 was a license-built Soviet version of the DC-3/C-47. It served bravely over the Eastern Front with the VVS and was even used as a bomber by the Soviets. Although it is seemingly identical to the C-47 it does have several differences, so extra work is needed to convert our C-47 into an Li-2. Our partners Ugra Media will begin this work once the C-47 cockpit is well in-hand. The Li-2 had different engines and cowlings, different instruments, a different cargo door and other small changes. Some also had a dorsal mounted gun turret for self-defense. The Li-2 will be a welcome addition to our Eastern Front themed titles. We will offer the Li-2 for Pre-Order as soon as work has officially begun in earnest. The C-47/Li-2 holds a special place for us because it represents cooperation between the old Soviet Union and the USA, which for a team of Russian developers and an American producer is a historical metaphor for our own team. Next, we will also partner with Ugra Media to create the British-built Sopwith Snipe 7.F1 fighter. The Snipe was a late entrant into the Great War, only coming to front-line service in the Summer of 1918. However, it was a successful aircraft and helped the Entente fight off the of the terrific late-war German designs in the final months and weeks of the war. The Snipe will be the first truly new WWI aircraft we committed to in a long time and this will bring a new combat experience to Flying Circus Volumes II and III. Pre-orders will be available once the Snipe has entered production. Finally, Ugra Media will build a late-war German fighter as well – that being the Siemens-Schuckert D.IV. Like the Snipe it entered the war late, but was a terrific design and will be a deadly opponent for the Snipe and other Entente fighters. This plane will be a challenge to make as references are tough to come by and we don’t believe any original examples survive today. However, we love a good challenge and plan to make this bird take flight just like all the rest. It’s interesting to see the similarities of the Snipe and SS.DIV designs with their compact bodies which we would image makes them quite maneuverable. When work begins, we will give you a change to pre-order the SS.DIV. All of these new planes do not have an impact on current development timelines for BON or FC2 and FC3 as we have been planning to make these aircraft for a while. We will work once again with our long-time partner Ugra Media to bring them to life in another team effort, much like we did for the famous U-2VS. We hope you enjoyed hearing this news and we look forward to bringing these fantastic aircraft to the Great Battles series! See you in the skies! The Sturmovik Team and Ugra Media

This is a major overhaul of Thirdwires stock Germany terrain for Strike Fighters 2 Europe. This mod includes Starys wonderfull GermanyCE hires terrain textures V3 with some small tweaks like grey painted roads or different river colors and a few new tiles. All airfields has been modified with new buildings . A couple are made from scratch. Try out Florians Pferdsfeld or Büchel airbases if you fly for the Nato. They are outstanding! Try Drewitz or Marxwalde or Gerwin field airfields if you are fighting for the Red side . Lots of strike targets has been modified or moved into towns. Hamburg and Wismar got real harbours and you find new objects all over the terrain. I also included hi ho silver's new city night textures and a modified ENVIRONMENTSYSTEM.INI as additional install if you want to fly night missions that looks like real nights. Special thanks to Ravenclaw_007 and 76.IAP-Blackbird. Both made some objects i realy needed for this rework and supported me to create this mod. Another Special thank to Gepard for his German airfields mod. And a special thank to Florian who made the best looking airfields i've ever seen in any Sim! And i want to thank all creators who made all the great objects i used for this mod. Without your work i would never had started this project. Thank you all! Rends -
