4 pointsMiG encounters were relatively rare. The Vietnamese didn't have many and on most days used them very sparingly. The Navy mainly faced MiG-17s which had no IRMs. SA-2s were fired on a daily basis. The Navy needed chaff far more than they needed flares. So, you shouldn't be looking for what the aircraft was capable of carrying, but instead looking for documentation of what they actually carried. For example, the F-4 could in theory carry 4 x AIM-9 and 4 x AIM-7. But the USAF and USN used different loadouts based on their own experience and judgement. The USAF had crappy AIM-9s and favored carrying AIM-7s, but the USAF also liked to put an ecm pod in one of the forward AIM-7 wells. The USAF also liked to carry the AIM-4D instead of the AIM-9. So even on May 10, 1972, during the biggest day of air-to-air combat during the entire war, Major Lodge's Oyster flight of F-4Ds was carrying 1 x AIM-4D on each wing pylon, either 2 or 3 AIM-7 + ECM pod. The USN had great AIM-9s and almost always carried 4xAIM-9. But since the F-4 couldn't fire the forward AIM-7s without dropping the centerline tank and the Navy had horrible results with the AIM-7, they usually only carried 2xAIM-7 in the rear wells. Unlike the USAF, Navy F-4s could carry 2xAIM-9 and bombs under each wing plyon, so it was quite common for USN CAP/Escort F-4s to carry some bombs as well as missiles to provide some SEAD for the attack aircraft. Whereas in the game, carrying 4xAIM-9 and 4xAIM-7 is typical and generally the most effective loadout.

3 pointsHistorically, USAF AIM-9Es and AIM-9Js performed the same or worse than AIM-9Bs, while the USN very hastily deployed AIM-9Ds with excellent results (around 40-60%) and the AIM-9G and AIM-9H had results comparable to the AIM-9L (around 80%). Late AIM-9Js as deployed on F-15s supposedly solved the early AIM-9J problems, but the AIM-9L, derived from the AIM-9G/H series was far superior, so the USAF finally gave up and switched to the USN derived variants that were comparable in range and speed, more maneuverable, all-aspect, and more reliable. The AIM-4D had dismal performance in Vietnam, worse than the AIM-9B. But the USAF really insisted on using them rather than the USN developed AIM-9. Politics and pride don't mix well with making good decisions that effect combat effectiveness.

SF2 Convair TF-102 Delta Dagger Pack by Coyote Aerospace 6/19/2021 -For SF2 =ONLY= (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended) This is the release of the Convair TF-102 Delta Dagger, aka "The Tub". This is the 2 seat trainer version of the F-102 interceptor. Like it's single seat sister, it is also fully combat capable, carrying the same missile and rocket armaments, as well as the MG-10 radar system. There are several skins within for the 3 users of this aircraft USAF: ADC Grey SEA 3-tone (start 1967) Export Users: ADC Grey, Turkish Air Force SEA 3-Tone, Greek Air Force All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. The USAF skins have 26 serial numbers, all historically correct for this model. That being said, each F-102 unit, either USAF, Air National Guard or AF Reserve, had at least 2 of these for training and pilot proficincy. No actual units are depicted, so while correct, consider the serials 'generic' in nature. I did, however, add the Air Defence Command patch to the tail of the Grey version. The 3 tone does not carry any distinctive markings. The serials for the Turkish AF (11 aircraft) and Green Air Force (5) are 100% historically correct. The user list, and the SF2 "date switch" statements for the HAF & TuAF have them starting in 1968. The USAF SEA 3-Tone uses a 1967 start date. All Weapons (missiles and unguided rockets) are included. These are station specific to the F/TF-102, and should cause no conflicts elsewhere. On the aircraft selection drop down list, you'll see: TF-102A Delta Dagger (v2k) This will differentiate this Tub for any others that may or may not exist. As is always recommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. PLEASE read them, before installing!!! For texture artists, the template is also included Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein Director of Advertising, Coyote Aerospace "We Aim Higher" UPDATE 7/10/2021: New lod in zip. You don't have to download the entire package again, the fix is down a few posts. -
1 pointyou all know that I have the MAX files for the TMF/MM Mk9, right? All it would take is some will MaxGuru to cut down the fuselage, make the bubble canopy and (probably) some remapping, and we'd have one

1 pointI don't know about turn performance, but the afterburner makes a noticeable difference in max climb rate: F-86D: 12,150 ft/min F-86F-40: 9,000 ft/min (46 m/s) at sea level That difference in rate of climb is a direct measure of specific excess power, which should mean much better acceleration. The higher wing loading should decrease overall agility/max turn rate, but the extra power might actually provide comparable if not superior sustained turn rate, as SEP is much higher despite the weight gain.

1 pointI've just been informed of a small issue with the LOD. I'm attaching a fix that Veltro kindly supplied. Just unzip, and drop into the TF-102s main folder and allow the overwrite. I'll be updating the package ASAP as well We apologize for the inconvience LODFIX.rar

1 pointThank you for clarifying this for me because I misunderstood it. Please accept my apology Silberpfeil. I will make the door have way open and make the inside of the helicopter hangar textured as well. Or may be make two models one without the crew and the door closed and the other with a crew and door open.

1 pointHe better should have written "Lightning" instead to try a word by word translation of the german nickname of this bird. It was called "Gabelschwanzteufel" by the Luftwaffe pilots. O is for Osprey

1 pointDownloaded and installed just fine! This mod is incredible! Thanks to everyone involved, whether it was a small contribution or a large one, I thank you all. Didn't last ;long on my first mission, ground support can be difficult when the targets are so small,(talking about ground troops) even against the sand back ground, they can be difficult to see. Not complaining either, hell of a lot of fun and a great challenge!

1 pointIt was possible, it required very specific editing and was super finicky to get to work, but it could be done in the long, long ago times. Around a decade ago (maybe longer), from what I can remember, it was possible to set a positive fuel state with a specific throttle setting by editing the fuel consumption setting for the engines in an aircraft's ini file. There are others more adept than myself who could explain how it worked, but it's a moot point because TK patched it out around 2011/12ish, possibly earlier. I can't remember if it was something that was carried over to the SF2 series, but I know for it was possible in the first generation series because there were some Yankee Air Pirates missions that included it... ...I think. I mean, it was a long-ass time ago and I can barely remember sh*t I did yesterday. Either way, if IFR is something you're looking for, you'll have to look somewhere other than the SF series.
