4 pointsHello, Remember... more than 15 years ago. This beautiful SFP1 loading screen motivated me to play this game ! All credit to Thirdwire : I have tried to adapt it to the current SF2. Best regards, Coupi.

4 pointsFurther testing of FE2 cloud tweaks in my mini-SF2 install, with a slightly modified data ini for the SeaFury to get it into the 730s kph (model recently posted by Paulopanz if I remember correctly, and a beautiful model too). Works great for early Cold War scenarios, as do the F4U-5 Argentine Corsairs. Thank you modders! Von S

2 pointsHello Piecemeal, I am working on a FPS friendly stock desert terrain. Using JSF_Aggie highres desert tiles combined with new created tiles an lod files. A lot of nice maps like Desert4, Rends Germany rework. Make my frame rates drop below 60 FPS (stuttering). That's why I wanted to make a map that looks nice, and runs smooth on modest PC's I also did not like the amount of agriculture in a "desert" terrain and the lack of roads. I am using mostly Third Wire low poly objects to keep everything smooth.

1 pointStanding by; I have a considerable mount of updating to do. For a sim that is supposedly on its' last legs, there are an uncommon amount of upgrades available.

1 pointFor those who have kept track of EAWPRO devellopment there is a new EXE for download. Just overwrite your current EAW.EXE with the new one. All others need to download the full EAWPRO addon at Mark EAW's website and when installed and working you can add the new EXE by overwriting the old one. Main changes: rewritten fire routine to get rid of the sky fires and incorporated more fires into various effects new elevation calculation with additional offset for raised hitbubbles (no objects programmed sofar) damage model fix on twin engined various other minor fixes improved FPS by optimising the code and removing some 500+ extra bytes from the gameloop Some other improvements The file is available here: https://rabartel.home.xs4all.nl/ProUpdate.zip Hope you guys like, :) VonBeerhofen

1 pointJust a quick one I have just flown a quick mission in FE2 with the Hanriot HD1 and another mission with the Voisin / Armed reconnaissance mission/August 1917 and I the nearest target were ships any ideas guys?
-
1 pointOr, in the terrain Movement.INI, this route on land is set up as RouteType=SHIPPING.
-
1 pointConsidering the formation in the first picture, I'm willing to bet that in the DATA.INI of that particular ship, the GroundObjectRole is set to TRANSPORT rather than CARGO_SHIP.

1 pointTornado F.3s launch for their turn in the Mach Loop... The object of the exercise is to prove that they are just at home at low level as at high altitude... It; It's a real treat for the plane spotters picnicking on the hills.... For the student out of RAF Valley who happened to be flying the wrong way down a valley, not so much... Oh sh... He climbs to altitude and heads back to base for a stiff drink and a change of underwear! And the Tornadoes are back on the deck and heading for their next waypoint...

1 pointFirst night of the war ft. Stary's NVG fx Been using ReShade for my standard postprocessing so I leave the NVG effect in the folder and switch my effects to unlimited only when I know there's a night mission. Works like a charm and one of the most immersive experiences I've had in SF2.

1 pointAs you may have noticed we had a little hiccup. Updating some of the LAMP services across our machines didn't play nicely at all. After sorting through the bountiful logs after the upgrade, there was simply a mess to clean up. Posting new topics were affected and new sign ups were affected. All those areas have been cleaned up and fixed. Unfortunately I'm delayed in rolling things out until I have some certainty of up-time on the services. So I'll keep plugging along and apologize for the mess while I'm working. Still more to come. E

1 pointUsually I am disgusted of the following term "According to US pilots" in such writings. It sounds like, 9 out of 10 dentists recommend this toothpaste... Well I am quite fortunate that I can read both english and russian books, and I have hundreds of both. Rule No1 I used to take, if it's about a western craft - I take the western source and vice versa, eastern source for the eastern tech. Either case they are both boasting and chest-banging about their own stuff but this way the sides equalize each other Yefim Gordon is a must. But he is not God writing holy books, but simply an excellent - english - source. Same could be said about Norman Polmar (Navy stuff) - he is best on his side - of his time. Bui we must take that into account that by the time they wrote their books they could not possibly have the knowledge we have right now. Rule No2 is simply to take as many sources as you can from different authors (possibly not copying plagiarizing each other) AND ask people of specific forums whose topics and answers seem creditable. Better if you know real life pilots, soldiers etc and ask them personally and match his talk with your background knowledge and sources. Some can brag or "color" his story, but you can ask questions politely to clear out controversies. I was soldier, I also have anecdotes which are "based upon real events" (sorry for the outraging Hollywood term from HiFi , history-fiction movies). Rule No3 is to cooperate and share info with others - without getting into endless who's is longer style debates perhaps this is the hardest to keep
