I was so sick of looking at the old Model of the Hercules SAM missile, that I decided to finally build one by myself. Learning the use of 3ds Max just for this purpose It's not a super-ultra detailed model with 10 thousands of polys, like you see sometimes these days , but it was never ment to be so. This package includes the minimum bundle to make the Nike Hercules system fully functional: new MIM-14 Hercules missile - 3D model, texture & .ini-work DaniloE31 (that's me) Nike 4x launcher - model by ErikGen, .ini-work DaniloE31 Nike LoPAR search radar - model by ErikGen, .ini-work DaniloE31 Nike TTR tracking radar - model by ErikGen, .ini-work DaniloE31 The ini's in this bundle are set to a network called "NIKE" and work together so they actually fire missiles at the Red Planes! You can install the pack in your ModFolder™\Objects\ , but in case you don't want to mess up your existing Nike Objects, you can also just take the following files: Weapons\MIM-14\Hercules.LOD Weapons\MIM-14\ Hercules_LOD002.LOD Weapons\MIM-14\Hercules.bmp and use the new missile. I used the very same Files & Node Names so you can eventually place the new LODs without the need of editing a single ini. I hope you enjoy it! DaniloE31 -

1 pointBAC Strikemaster FGA.1 - No.208 Squadron, RAF Middle East Command, 1966 In the so-called 'Aden Protectorate' (today part of Yemen) during the early 1960's various disparate anti-British guerrilla groups slowly formed into two larger organisations consisting of the Egyptian-supported National Liberation Front and the Front for the Liberation of Occupied South Yemen. Attacks against the British began at a relatively low level but suddenly escalated on December 14th, 1963 with an National Liberation Front grenade attack at Khormaksar Airport that killed two people and injured another fifty including the British High Commissioner. Later on the same day a state of emergency was declared in Aden. Attacks against British forces by the National Liberation Front and the Front for the Liberation of Occupied South Yemen continued and relied mainly on grenade attacks largely focused on killing off-duty British officers and policemen. In 1964 the British 24th Infantry Brigade arrived to conduct land operations and the RAF station at Khormaksar was quickly expanded, eventually operating nine squadrons including the Hawker Hunter fighter-bombers of No.208 Squadron who had been previously based at RAF Muharraq in Bahrain. Air strikes by fighter-bombers against the mobile guerilla forces were often ineffective and Army commanders considered that with complete air superiority then perhaps a slower aircraft with an observer assisting the pilot might be a more accurate combination in supporting British ground forces and attacking the rebels. BAC had already been proposing an armed version of the Jet Provost to the RAF for weapons training without success but tried again towards the end of 1964 and were rewarded with a production contract for 50 armed Jet Provost trainers in January 1965. With the Jet Provost T.5 still on the BAC production line and BAC already developing the private venture BAC 167 Strikemaster then the new aircraft was developed very quickly. Essentially an armed version of the Jet Provost T.5, the Strikemaster FGA.1 featured an uprated Rolls-Royce Viper turbojet engine, four underwing hardpoints, two machine guns under the intakes and new communication and navigation gear. Entering service in February 1966 with No.208 squadron at RAF Khormaksar the Strikemaster force was expanded when No.8 Squadron re-equipped with the type in April 1966. Both units flew armed reconnaissance sorties in the Radfan and Dhala areas a difficult task as the rugged terrain aided concealment and camouflage. The Hunter FR.10's of No. 1417 Flight and the Shackleton MR.3's of No.37 Squadron helped with pre-strike and post-strike photographs and during the Autumn of 1966 the rebel forces in the Radfan area increasingly used caves to store arms and ammunition. These difficult targets were successfuly attacked by both the Strikemaster ground-attack squadrons often under FAC control. However, repeated guerrilla attacks against British forces by the National Liberation Front continued (and subsequently increased after the 1967 Six-Day war) causing the British to leave Aden by the end of November 1967. Following the British departure, the National Liberation Front managed to seize power and establish the People's Republic of South Yemen. The Radfan Strikefighter wing returned to the UK to form a new Tactical Weapons Unit at RAF Brawdy operating the type until 1991. Skin Credit: allenjb42

Changes will be: some settings in flightmodel will be changed to make the plane landing properly. position of exhaust emitter will be corrected. add armed_recon to possible missions (you can drop now grenades on trucks ;-) ) new skin for west german use and correct tactical numbers for east and westgerman Air Force. (I got all these files from Paulopanz) Give me some days for final checks. Release till weekend, i hope so.

1 pointTell it brother!! I can't even count the time that frelling TE crashed on me with doing a "flood" fill of tiles or building TODs. Let's not forget the object limit for alphas and solids.
-
1 pointActually, I disagree. The terrain as a LOD is just plain horrible under many aspects, poor optimization and framerate unfriendly. The only good thing about the LOD terrain is the water shaders, but TK could make something similar for the TOD terrains. Also, another disadvantage of LOD terrains, you would have to manually add hundreds of thousands of 3d models of city buildings and trees. Not only it is incredibly time consuming, it also worsens the framerate by a lot. The game would have to deal with too many 3d models on screen and with huge LOD chunks of the terrain's land and water. If only we had a TOD editor with a user-friendly interface not prone to crash countless times, we would improve the TOD terrains to new levels.

1 pointphotorealistic uk map ?....what a stupid statement....if your not happy with whats here...suggest you make 1 ? game was lacking some types of planes...so I learnt how to make them...rather than rant
-
1 pointWrench´s terrains could not be better because the Game´s engine limitation. He reach the highest peek.
-
1 pointI, personally, find THAT statement highly insulting. I don't have to tell any long term members what I've gone through to bring out the best and most accurate product within the (serious) limitation of the game engine. Terrains for EVERY era .... BUT... I think we're seeing not only translation difficulties, but a general lack of understanding of the game itself, how it works under the hood, and how long it actually takes to bring out 95%+ accurate terrain map - or any other product. You all know that it took me 2 years for the KAW map so... So... for the first time in my 16 years involved with the SF series, I'm will to give the benefit of the doubt. (those that know me know that don't happen often, or at all)

1 pointAlso, he seems to judge a terrain solely by its tileset. Some terrains have good tilesets, but their geography and locations are utterly wrong. Others are very accurate to the Real World, but use older tilesets. Vietnam is an example, we have good-looking tilesets for it, but it's one of the most inaccurate terrains I have ever seen, and it's even a stock product. PS: good terrains don't grow on trees, they can require months of (unpaid) work, and eventually such works are released for free here. I could quickly make something that barely resembles Syria, with zero accuracy and zero details but with the Syria name on it, and with a very good looking desert tileset. As always, it seems mediocre products would pay off better than quality ones (quality is what I would always aim for in all of my projects, no matter what).

The Convair B-58 Hustler was the first operational jet bomber capable of Mach 2 flight.[2] The aircraft was designed by Convair and developed for the United States Air Force (USAF) for service in the Strategic Air Command (SAC) during the 1960s.[3] It used a delta wing, which was also employed by Convair fighters such as the F-102, with four General Electric J79 engines in underwing pods. It carried five nuclear weapons; four on pylons under the wings, and one nuclear weapon and fuel in a combination bomb/fuel pod under the fuselage, rather than in an internal bomb bay. unpack and move folders to their respective places Model: Veltro2k Sounds, Snum tgas in unit folders....................................
