I've been looking at photos and videos all day and it's heartbreaking to see the wildlife being impacted and the devastation to the vegetation. Sadly we also know what comes after the fires burn out, rain. Rain that causes flooding and land slides so this isn't over not by a long shot. Those Aussies are a hardy bunch but I pray for each and every one of them. This is going to impact people directly and indirectly for years to come.

The Hot Dog Stand is over a decade old; time for the new 2020 “Swambast” overhaul edition! This version is based on an actual hot dog stand known as “The Dog House.” It was owned by Dick Portillo who spent his family’s life savings to open up a hot dog stand in 1963. The hot dog stand was originally inside a cramped trailer located 18 miles west of Chicago, Illinois (USA). In my opinion, my version does a good (not great) job of replicating the original considering the FPS/performance balance I wanted to maintain. Also, I took it off the trailer and made it more of a solid fixture. As always, I get suckered by details, so I added in the working "grill smoke" and a delicious “hot dog combo meal.” Also, thought it would be fun to create a custom destroyed model that has burnt hot dogs scattered everywhere (). Working on a few final tweaks including hit boxes/collision mesh but should be ready soon. P.S. @Wrench: time for your “Wrench’s Weiners” hot dog stand to be updated. PM me with some details and I’d be happy to make it for you. Also, might have a surprise for you regarding the early genre firetruck you were looking for at one point.

This was one of the more impactful photos I've seen over the past few days. It is solemn and quiet with a still action background giving way to the soft flutter of the proud Australian Flag. Says it all without saying a word. Thought I'd share. I feel for you Aussies because this wasn't only avoidable in the mass scale like it is today but everyone knew the fire load was high months in advance and did nothing. Our lovely politicians once told the residents of a certain state they needed to go out in the forest and rake up the dead brush and leaves to prevent the fires. Keep in mind 80% of that forest is National Forest belonging to the Federal Government. It's total absurdity in all forms. Climate change has a name, it is real, it is here today, and it is making a devastating impact already. Imagine when our blue ball get another degree or two hotter and we can't sustain the food supply. Shits about to get real folks.

They write that the 250-round belt had a length of 6.62 m; in curb weight weighed 8.25 kg. As you can see, there is not much space in the Type-II VK so that so much ammunition can be packed in its cartridge box. I completely agree with you. The Type-II VK, which received the macabre nickname 'baby coffin' due to its shape, is remarkable in that it was possibly the first example of what today would be called a gun pod. It weighed about 40 kg (it is not clear whether this is the curb weight of the gun container or its empty weight). Inside the 'baby coffin' there was also a spring-loaded drum, on which, by analogy with the Nieuports, an empty cartridge belt was wound. The spent cartridges were collected inside. By the way, in the back of the 'baby coffin' was a gravity fuel tank. Right view with the cover removed; behind the water-cooling barrel a drum for an empty cartridge belt is visible:

No apologies needed, you did the right thing by investigating further. We are all concerned about protecting intellectual property. SimonMavrick should have double-checked what he was going to upload. It could have contained anything. Also, there's a good reason why mods are mostly distributed with ReadMe files. The few ones who care to read them know who deserves real credit. Thinking about this upload, I'd suggest it to be removed. One of the admins can re-upload it with a whole new description, a simple copy and paste of that ReadMe file would do, I suppose.

I have read reports that the environmental lobby in Australia have brought about so many regulations to protect trees and vegetation that the deployment of firebreaks is effectively impossible. One fireman interviewed said that in 2002 he cleared the trees around his house and was fined $50,000 dollars plus the same in costs. He said that there was a large fire in 2009 and his was the only house in his town not burned down. Cause and effect. But one cannot talk to these people.

Operation_Salazar: From 1966 onward, the pro-independence guerrilla movement MPLA expend their previously-limited insurgency operations to the East of Angola. The UNITA, a smaller pro-independence guerrilla organisation established in the East, support the MPLA. The FAP start counter-insurgency military campaign, called Operation Salazar, to expel the guerrilla movements operating in the East to beyond the frontiers of Angola. The Government of South Afrika supports the efforts of the FAP. PLEASE BE AWARE: This release of Operation_Salazar is unpolished and is to be considered a Beta version. Global warming is not inevitable as in the future, it is here today in the here and now. We aren't helpless, that's what the climate deniers want everyone to be. They keep people uninformed, misinformed, paralyzed in dilemma, and ultimately helpless; all so they can continue to make money off of dirty carbon polluting energy. There will come a day when we as humans will understand that survival of our species depends on change. When this all comes close enough to home that it affects our daughters and sons, we'll be wind farming fools almost overnight. Humans are the only species so selfish and depraved to not comprehend a threat until it's cutting off their oxygen and staring them in the face. I pray for us all.

Given the guy has 1 post, and no history of activity here, always raises a flag. This happens all the time; I've seen it all to often over the years. They disappear, never to be seen again, after uploading a questionable mod. The gods forbid that uploaders should follow site policy, and actually give a decent description of the item INCLUDING where the hell it comes from and who built it. Not necessary to post the entire readme (even IF they wrote one), but at least tell us the minimum requirements. I'm going to leave this up for a while, unless Erik says different, in the (vague) hopes this "person" responds in the correct manner.

Let's be clear. The PM is not to blame for the fire, the emergency funding that could have lessened the damage, poor management, or going on holiday? Afforestation is the planting of new trees that were not harvested or lost. California is reforesting and will be for hundreds of years before it can ever think of afforestation. California is a good example how fires jump fire breaks often as if they're non-existent. The only real way to help prevent forest fires is to remove the fuel in a continuous cycle of controlled burns before the fuel is ignited by weather or accidentally. I don't see what was said as a personal attack so much that it was an attack of the policy. I can see how you might feel personally attacked but I'm almost certain it wasn't meant that way. I'll differ to the author for further clarification.

The problem with the Aussie fire is it's speed. A friend of mine is a forest firefighter in the Province of Quebec and volounteered to go there. He said that in a blink of an eye the fire made giant leaps, even over their safe zones. So the rain will be their salvation as for now because they can hardly fight the beast right now. My thoughts and prayers are for all the souls there!

Thanks Wrench, glad you like them - it was actually pretty fun so thought I'd keep the momentum going... Well now that you said that, how about having a choice? Thought I'd start with the Mid-East variant. I did some research and came up with this low-poly highly optimized design with modeling time about 2 minutes, and texture time in hours...LOL Anyway, hope it is another upgrade option for your Mid East "Falfael King"...

Hello gents', The relevant info. I have in the data ini for the "Spider" (located in the ver. 9.7 folder of my update pack, see the eastern front and Italian front folders) - is as follows: GunTypeName=8MM_SCHWARZLOSE_M0712unsync InputName=FIRE_PRIMARY_GUN GunGroup=1 MuzzlePosition=0.00,1.19,1.215 LightPosition=0.00,1.19,1.215 AimAngles=0.0,4.0,-0.1 MaxAmmo=250 EjectShells=TRUE I've been liberal with the max ammo setting (250) but may reduce this further to about 150-200. Also take note that the rate of fire is slightly faster on the unsynchronized than the early synchronized versions of the 07/12 Schwarzlose. I've therefore linked the Spider's gun type name with the un-synced variant of the early Schwarzlose. The relevant folder can be found in the "Guns" folder available in the larger ver. 9.5 consolidated update pack folder that's also available in the ver. 9.7 download. My general ini files for FE2 have shadows set to false on my rig, to preserve frame rates, but I will eventually get to setting them to "medium" - eventually - in SF2 I have them at medium settings and they work fine on the Mac Pro (2013). Hopefully setting them to medium in FE2 won't shave off too many fps. Happy flying, Von S

About the shadow, it's the same setting I found in Peter01's Hansa-Brandenburg FM (basically the same plane with different engine). Maybe he was trying to save some framerate, I don't Know. About the ammo, I really don't know, as I have no info about that. Again it's based in the old Hansa-Brandenburg DI we had. Surely VonS has better data about it.
