17 pointsYeah know one in game but I think this ones better... lots to do....as im dabbling again, its one im finishing now.....but hold on to your hats, its being done as and when. Lots to do... Already done. Animated gears ,bomb doors....took an age as they were down in original 3ds model, and as anyone who uses 3ds max knows most 3ds models have a lot of errors, most of the meshes had seperate polygons...took ages to weld., added spec mapping, sorted out jpegs of painted on numbers etc, to do....here we go lol redo tail fins ...slightly too thick at base and need proper mechanism... tail chute and housing new wings as these are just damaged versions,or rather are split like them.. refuel probe weapon stations might try redo a template intakes need looking at,...dirt ingress-louvre doors to make engine fans need replacing canards are way too thick and clunky-remake then reposition all the pivot points for the control surfaces.. so you see quite a list..... would say two weeks but thats being very conservative lol... it will be when its done...ok thanks cheers Russ BTW this one will be hi def\res unlike the other one :)

1 pointAh, looks like I'm late to the party. This is what I've done: Early_v2.5.zip I wanted to be more accurate so I reproduced texture patterns. This way, even without TW decals, the textures seem very fine. Feel free to use those in a future update, @Wrench EDIT: I redid the fuselage, package above has been updated.

1 pointTo all Involved: A new, 'version 2', with repainted wings and fuselage for the "Early" skin has now been uploaded. There is also a seperate 'Fix It" package of the "Early" skin for those that have already downloaded the full aircraft package. The link is below:

1 pointView File SF2 Atlas Impala Mk.II Early Skin "Fix It" SF2 Atlas Impala Mk.II Early Skin "Fix It" 3/7/2019 = For SF2, Any/All (Full 5 Merged RECCOMENDED!) = This is a "repair" package for the recently released ATlas Impala Mk.2 by Marcfighters. This kit ONLY contains the skin folder "Early". The fuselage and wings have been repainted and had the necessary panel lines redrawn to remove the painted on national markings. They are now all decals, which are stock in all 3W games (merged). The Entire Aircraft package, available below is also getting this patch applied, so if you've downloaded the aircraft already, this fix-it kit for YOU. If you haven't downloaded the aircraft, what's stopping you??? :) Below is the URL for the full aircraft package (updated) https://combatace.com/files/file/16939-sf2-atlas-impala-mkii-by-marcfighters-v2/ As is always reccomended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. 1 pointunless something has changed since i asked if this could be done about 10 years ago i think the answer is no .
-
1 pointSurely someone has done that? "And don't call me Shirley"

1 pointthe links below are not templates but should be useful. the F will have decal location entries for Armourdaves F (similar to the G) and the Hill skins will have the Euro 1, SEA wraparound and a desert scheme as worn by one each aircraft with the 466th TFW at Hill AFB before retirement in 1984. The Gs were used by the Georgia ANG until around 1983 (this is before coffee as usual: dates not exact). They were commended for making a European training deployment despite at one point having to stand down all the aircraft for maintenence. They were also in Service at George AFB until 1978 or 79 when the F-4Gs were coming on line. Hill should have the colors and rough patterns needed.

1 pointOf course I see it. The question is, do we take time away from our own enjoyment to publish a set of documents that will probably never be read by other members, let alone acted on? I won't speak for Mr. Jelly but I know that I'm not interested in that. I'd much rather have a member approach me because then I know there's real interest in learning. So far there hasn't been any interest, which is fine, most members just want to fly.

1 pointAlmost done making all our raw data backups, you know in case I screw something up horribly. Good job on all the TBs of download files on the site, they take forever to backup with zero compression. The suck continues and I will keep you updated. E

1 pointI understand. Its like how I made my EAW Help Site,. I just had fun doing it. Something I wanted to get documented long a ago, but it took about 14 or so years to get to it and 5 years to make. I didn't and still don't really know the impact its made. Some have been receptive though. Anyhow , how many editors are their? Are they ready to go with a necessary files in place? Are they garnished off into their own zips, or is it a mess? Post them without much in the way of instructions, and just have simple readme's directing modders to e-mails or simhq eaw forum for questions. This way perhaps you can start with a simple editor and publicly document it. If you don't try, the future of UAW modding with be cut off and forgotten. You do see that , right?

1 pointYou don't have to remake the whole thing. Probably it is easier to use Armourdave's F-105D templates and modify them. The images below show the F-105G lod with my unfinished F-105D wrap-around textures. The wings, horizontal stabs, as well as the front and rear fuselage are the same as on the G. The middle part of the fuselage and a few bits on the vertical stab need some work. Compare the available skins and use Mue's lod viewer, you'll see the differences.

1 pointAlways liked the damage modelling in this one, especially with several dozen mods added to tweak it further for more robustness to the aircraft, the "gavagai" mods in particular work well. Bit of a mishap during a balloon attack in the pic. below, but the pilot was mostly okay. Von S

1 pointthere are many different skill levels and personalities amongst the modders here. some add complete instructions barney style, some dont. most of us dumbasses either figure it out (asking for assistance in forum when necessary) or i guess go back to Ace Combat on PS. i know this dumbass got busy learning some years ago. However, if you provide reciept of your purchased mod, we will happily provide a refund or discount on your next mod. Oh wait, you didnt pay? Thats right, we do this for free, working topics we want to around our personal work and life schedules. many projects (esp. campaigns) are years in the making as less than a dozen people are directly active on it, some cases only one primary with small help from a couple of others. shit gets forgotten about at the end, but mods are still free. as a matter of fact it states in most readme's that the mod is freeware and not to be used in any payware projects. what you paid to be a premium member is a donation to the site owner that supports the running of the site as a whole. the modders are freelancers that want to share their work with others in the community, not Erik's employees. but presentations by end users that act as if they are paying for the mods have been discouraging many modders into not releasing any new projects, and pissing others off. if there is a specific issue with a specific mod, address the original author that released it (yes for each individual mod of those many). constructive criticism is actually always welcome. but general bitching and griping "on behalf of others" isnt necessary. we can look up our FB accounts to get that. Clear now?
