heres one i just thought of any chance of a U-2R or S making the cut? if so, TR-1 would be a ini edit away, given they were renamed Rs for USAFE use (all renamed R after 91, then renamed S after upgrades mid 90s)

I believe bazillius means that if we are to choose between trainers and prototype aircraft and X planes, then trainers should win the vote and I agree with him on that point. I also agree that in the end the winner should not be some obscure model with limited use, but one that will be interesting and usefull to most members here. Also I would vote for a model, that can be made accurate with minimum compromise within the available resources. Let's take the Su-34 as an example. I would love to have it in game, but first we have the cockpit issue - a Su-34 with F-111 or B-1B cockpit - no, thanks, I'd rather have something else. Then we also have the various pylon and rail taypes used on the Su-34 for A2A, A2G missiles, bombs, drop tanks, etc. I doubt many modders would be interested and would spend the time needed to model all correct pylons and rails for the Su-34 and having bombs loaded on missile rails or missiles on bomb pylons is a no-go for me. In other words, I would perefer something less complicated, but accurately modeled, than something very complicated, but inaccurate or highly compromised.

If you learn to work with the LOD viewer provided by one of our esteemed collegue, it will be more easier to fix such kind of problem. The LOD viewer give you a tighter grip of moving things around a plane like decals with very great precision.

This one looks funny and the red side need some transport planes urgently. An-72 (military) or An-74 (civil) are more or less the same planes. Its a common transport plane in the Ukraine and Russia.
  29. 2 points
The F-16XL could use a new one too, to be late as well. The cockpit is there fortunately but a better external model would be nice.
  30. 2 points
Amen. And I repeat myself again, at this point that we have plenty of goodies in the game. I prefer quality rather than quantity. I do not want 69 new aircraft I would rather have one but delicious. And honestly, If I do not have a cockpit for mod I do not install the mod -(with few exceptions for some heavies..and if it is for the red side) but this is my approach.

I am not a majority but I really think a single seater Hunter and a two seater Hunter are not the same aircraft at all. Even if only the nose is different. Imagine Lightning T4 and T5... Trainers don't really represent any interest game-wise. But, some of them are really beautiful planes (Jaguar B/T2, TF-104G, Mirage F1B, Su-22 UM3K, Mitsubishi T-2, F-5B, and many others...). I edited the files of the old TF-104G to fly from the back seat and that is really fun. Same with the MiG-15 UTI, MiG-21 UM. And some aircrafts are modeled this way, FastCargo's F-5B and T-38, the Mirage 4000B. Go download the Mirage 4000 M2 and try to land on an aircraft carrier from the back seat ^^ It's totally different when you launch the SF2 game as a flight simulator and not as an aerial warfare game. Then, if we had the "Hunter T7 with the proper cockpit" I would fly it just to fly from A to B and land and take off and land somewhere else. Yes Strike Fighter is my Flight Simulator xD Thing is, it doesn't really work without a specific cockpit, because Mirage F1 or MiG-15 are "the same" from the front seat, and you don't have the guns. So I agree not to concentrate on trainers and yet we should make more of them. Speaking about cockpit, I'd like to underline that the F-94C Starfire already has a dedicated cockpit made by Stary more than 7 years ago. And I'd like to volunteer to make the data.ini file for the Canadair CL-215 to make it seaworthy. The CL-415 looks meaner !

Thank you Julio -- yes I like the fire effect too (it is present in the ver. 10.5 FM update addon for the Strutters, but the fire effect disappears in the 10.6 "proof of concept" addon, by the way, which gives limited rpm control for some of the Strutter sub-types). Speaking of limited rpm control on the rotaries, I have in the meantime experimented further with that -- so far I have enabled limited rpm control from about 1000 to 1200 rpms on the Fokk. Eindeckers series I through III -- I will consider also including such tweaks to the Morane Bullet, also the Nieups. 11 through 27 or 28, and the early and "gaskammered" variants of the Fokk. Dr.1. Other types, such as very early ones and/or types with poorer reputations (M-S Type H, M-S Parasols, the Pfalz Eindeckers and Parasols, etc.), I will leave at default (fully on or off), for the sake of variety. Limited rpm control will also be applied to the early Camel and Clerget Camel, as well as to the early and later one-gun Tripe variants (the two-gun Tripe variant, also any other higher HP rotaries and Siemens-Halske types, such as later Pfalzes -- will be left with full throttle capabilities as previously tweaked). If interested, click on the pic. below to see a 10 min. clip of testing with the Fokk. E.III, and other relevant details. One of the changes I particularly like with limited rpm control implementation present is that there is nice wing bobbing now present just before the engine goes into the blip switch "on" spectrum -- nice representation of gyroscopic effects from the rotaries that way. Once you push further towards full throttle, within the limited rpm control band, the effects become smoother and wing bobbing less noticeable. The AI also takes advantage of the limited rpm control band for smoother landings. Bit busy with work currently but I hope to cover all of the changes in a few months -- and will release them as FM update pack version 11. [EDIT: removed clip of limited RPM control - all latest tweaks now available in the ver. 11 FM/Realism package for First Eagles 2.] Cheers all & happy flying in FE2,

Well, the way you worded the message it sounded different to me. It is language barrier I guess, it happens to misunderstand. Again, about the X-32, angelp also wants to reproduce the real one, but without many references that is the best he got at the moment. So, instead of saying look at the pictures, I think it'd be best to share those references, no? If you don't want, it's no problem, but then what was the point of the message? The only thing we got closer to an X-32 was cocas' F-32, and that one looked nothing like the real X-32. Apart from this, peace brother. russouk2004 was making a U-2R, then I think he had to leave modding due to RL issues. So yeah, I think the U-2R is a good suggestion to the list. Though the list is big already, may I add the Alpha Jet E? In theory we have Florian's wonderful Alpha Jet A, the E version features a different nose compared to the A. If only we had a source file of that one, an E version would be much feasible to make.

How do we establish which proposed model is...obscure , taking into account that it was proposed by YOU (not by me), members of CombaAce community ? :D Who decides what is obscure or not, also ? :D If you are suggesting , correct me if I'm wrong, that you don't want a new plane if there is not a suitable cockpit (in YOUR opinion) for it already, then I think we have a subjective opinion here. BUT...if in the end the community will decide , with a large majority , that this is what it wants, a training plane or a remade one, then I will comply. Actually I was wanting to propose exactly that, in the end, Sunday, to VOTE (you, all who made all the propositions) and let the majority decide, this way I will fulfill my duty , to bring you a plane YOU all wanted and not to be a subjective choice of MINE. The SU-34 plane is an exception because is a project that was almost finished and it's easy to bring it, plus it will be as...A SECOND PLANE., a bonus one for you all, IF I can resurrect it! It won't interfere with the voted one as I explained above.

PAF FT-7P For Sf2(Full-5 merged or at minimum SF2:I and SF2:E) This mod represents the training variant of the F-7P called the FT-7P currently in service with the Pakistan Air Force. These aircraft were acquired for free from China as new production air frames. However, they were grounded for one year for the fitting of western ejection seats as PAF pilots refused to fly with the stock Chinese ejection seats. The PAF operates a total of four of these airframes. All of these aircrafts are in service with the training wing of the No.19 'Sherdils'(Lionhearts) Squadron. Note:This is NOT the EXACT representation of the real world aircraft as the model represented in this mod has a much different canopy than it's real world counterpart. However,as this is the only double seater fishbed available for the TW SF series, the canopy will differ from those found in reference photographs. Note:This jet is meant for TRAINING PURPOSES ONLY.Don't expect to emerge victorious from a large dogfight or survive in a large threat environment. The following training scenarios are ideal for this jet: -Basic Flight Training -Advanced Flight Maneuvering -Air to Air weapons training against a small target(s) -Bomb training(Unguided) -Ground Strafing(Guns and rockets) Installation: After unzipping FT-7P_1.0,place the objects folder inside your basic SF2 mods folder. You must at least know about the SF2 mods folder. Note:If you do not know anything about the mod folder, the immediately stop the installation,go to the COmbatACE Forums,Go to the Strike Fighters 2 Knowledge Base and take a look at the thread explaining the Strike Fighters 2 mod folder mechanism.
