proper barracks (or dorms on USAF bases) and office buildings would be awesome for all current airbases, rather than the rows of quoanset hut wannabes currently in game. I n my own experience Bragg (except for 19th Replacement in the late 90s), Pope, Schweinfurt, Frankfurt, Bliss, Benning, Lee all look very different than rows of huts. for that matter, Kandahar and Bagram were more like construction site trailers than curved huts. even rows of other buildings would make the airbase eyecandy massively pop. and that is an awesome amount of detail for the inside of a control tower!

I have edited Missioncontrol.ini to increase the default mission heights, so now often get some at 10,000 feet, like this one escorting AEG G-types. The weather is about 8/10ths cloud as you can see. With the November sun low on the horizon, FE2's lighting effects can be rather beautiful, and winter version of the stock terrain, though lacking railway lines, is still pleasing to my eye.

Oh my goshhhh!!!! Oh my gosh...... It means you will use Windows 10 now? Oh boy... You will past this way alone without any help i think and it will be full of sorrow and pain. I can only send you a hug to support you a little. Sorry for offtop. 2200$ ? Enough for any adequate machine. i play on Intel Core i7 7700HQ Kaby Lake, RAM 8 GB DDR4 SDRAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB GDDR5 and it was price about 900$. I can plays on this machine Tomb Rader, Falout 4 Far Cry Primal etc. on High Graphics without troubles. But if you like to play Tank Platoon 2, Armored Fist 2, Comanche 4, DID EF2000, DID F-22 on Windows 10 it is a pain... i Use DOS BOX for it and PCEMv14. It works on Windows 10, DOS BOX i mean. Caporetto Terrain WW1 ********************* INTRODUCTION The Italian Front during WW1 refers to a series of battles fought between 1915 and 1918 in northern Italy between the armies of Austria-Hungary and Germany against Italy. Italy hoped that by joining the countries of the Triple Entente against the Central Powers it would gain Cisalpine Tyrol (today's provinces of Trentino and South Tyrol), the Austrian Littoral, northern Dalmatia and some areas of western Carniola. Italy had hoped to begin the war with a surprise offensive intended to move quickly and capture several Austrian cities. Well, the war soon bogged down into trench warfare similar to the Western Front fought in France. The included terrain represents the situation around August/September 1917, just before the battle of Caporetto. The Battle of Caporetto (also known as the Twelfth Battle of the Isonzo, the Battle of Kobarid or the Battle of Karfreit) was the greatest defeat in Italian military history. The battle was fought between the Entente and the Central Powers and took place from 24 October to 19 November 1917, near the town of Kobarid (now in north-western Slovenia, then part of the Austrian Littoral). The battle was named after the Italian name of the town (also known as Karfreit in German). Austro-Hungarian forces, reinforced by German units, were able to break into the Italian front line and rout the Italian forces opposing them. The battle was a demonstration of the effectiveness of the use of stormtroopers and the infiltration tactics developed in part by Oskar von Hutier. The use of poison gas by the Germans also played a key role in the collapse of the Italian Second Army. INCLUDED - Italian terrain/front WW1, situaton around summer/late summer 1917 - 539 unique tiles, 10226/574 targets/areas - Terrain represents the most important battlegrounds on the Italian front (Monfalcone, Mt. Hermada, Doberdo and Doberdo Lake, Mt. Fajiti Hrib, Gorizia, Mt. Sabotino, Bainsizza plateau, Caporetto, Mt. Krn, Mt. Tre Cime, Mt. Cristallo, Mt. Lagazuoi, Mt. Col di Lana, Mt. Marmolada, Mt. Ortigara, Mt. Pasubio...and many other historical places) - Needed ground objects are also included - Important mountains where done via satellite images (the tiles) - All historical fortifications are included (mountain bunkers, etc.) and locations/naming correct (as good as it gets) FAQs Q: Is the scale of the map correct A: No Q: Are all the named towns and cities correct (placement and naming) A: Yes as good as it gets. Q: Does it include more than one season? A: No Q: Is the frontline correct? A: Yes representing late 1917 Q: The river Isonzo seems to cut through the mountains, is that correct? A: To a certain degree, but I had to modify massively the heightmap in order to make things look right (e.g. river not flowing up/down the mountains) Q: The northern part of the map, e.g. toward Munich, seems without further towns? A: Correct. All forests and lakes are there but apart from the major cities (Salzburg & Munich) I've not included smaller towns. INSTALLATION 1. Make a backup copy of your First Eagles folder (just in case) 2. Extract the file into a temporary folder (like c:\temp\) 3. Copy all the relevant folders into the respective First Eagles game folders (example: c:\temp\First Eagles\Terrain\wwiCaporetto into your c:\Program Files\First Eagles\Terrain folder) 4. Copy the Objects\GroundObjects folders into your GroundObjects folder. If you've already my Italian WWI terrain, then you probably don't need these objects. In any case if asked to 'owerwrite', click NO. PREREQUISITES - FE Gold (might work also with FE2, sorry guys don't know), with the latest patch - Very strong PC and GPU CREDITS As usually I want to say thank you to all guys who helped me to create the Italian terrain, to TK, Jan Tuma, Stephen1918, ojcar, Gepard, Heck, geo, quack74, Edward, and specially Geezer. Sorry guys, can't remember all the names. Please contact me if you want to be named here. Thanks for files, suggestions, bug fixing, etc. DISCLAIMER The Italian terrain is freeware. You are free to modify and share it, BUT Commercial use is prohibited. If you find bugs please post them in First Eagles section of Combatace.com forum. Hope you enjoy it. Sincerely gterl

I first posted this two years ago and I'm re-gifting this to all of you this year. A completely flyable Santa Claus for FE (both FE1 and FE2,) including a cockpit view. He's probably the most well known pilot of all time, but never shot down another plane. He may wear different uniforms and be known by many names but he is always remembered for his message of peace and goodwill. Installation Instructions Download and open the attached Zip file (below). Put the folder named "Santa" into your First Eagles "Aircraft" folder. Notes: Start in the air - Santa does not take off and land very well, (too many hooves) so it is best to begin your mission in the air. Easy mode only - I didn't spend a lot of time on the FM. The center of gravity is too close to the back, so he doesn't fly well in "Normal" or "Hard" modes. Extra aircraft - By default, First Eagles assigns two planes to a recon flight. You can remove one of them in the Loadout screen. Avoid AA - He's neutral and unarmed, but ground-based AA will still open fire when he gets close. Remember to set the mission date to a Winter month. Now, go spread some Holiday Cheer. SantaForFE.zip

Hasn't really affected me as much. Pro does have a lot more flexibility and access to GP. You can use O & O Shutup 10 for privacy and updates https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10 - Enterprise/Home /Pro are essentially the same OS really :) Good bit of kit and free but use at own risk - do not recommend stopping updates personally you can also roll back still if you need to without this.

The next mission, on 30 November, was uneventful until we came across a couple of Camels in a fight with some Pfalz. I somehow got my aircraft identification mixed up and had a long-range rattle at one of the latter whom I thought was an Englishman shooting at one of my Albatrosses, not the Camel both were chasing. Happily I missed, the Camel went down minus the outer portion of his upper mainplane. The Pfalz then climbed up to the west towards the cloudbase, reforming as they went. I could see no signs of other enemy aircraft and after calling my own flight to heel, I led us home. With nearly half my staffel killed or prisoners, my offensive spirit is clearly at a low ebb. This is where I find that FE's squadron management feature gives the player a much keener sense of what it was like to fly in the attritional air war of WW1 than any other such sim I have 'flown'.

DCS 2018 and Beyond on Facebook DCS: P-51D Mustang and World War II Update We are pleased to update our first Warbird for DCS World, the Mustang! This week’s update includes both a complete overhaul of the cockpit to include deferred shading and physical based rendering technology, as well as a more detailed 3D model and textures. In addition to a huge update to the cockpit, we have also greatly improved the external model and added the option to fly the P-51D-25-NA version. This was the most common P-51D for the European Theater of Operations (ETO) with its primary difference being its radio and IFF systems. This is most visible by the dorsal antenna. As notes in prervious newsletters, both the Bf 109 K-4 and Fw 190 D-9 have also gotten outstanding improvements to their cockpits and external models to bring it to DCS World 2.5 standards. With the huge updates to the P-51D, Fw 190 D-9, and Bf 109 K04, and all the time and resources invested, the price of each warbird will return to $49.99; however, all three aircraft will take part in our Winter 2018 sale. Of these, we are already at work making the P-47D, Fw 190 A-8 and Mosquito flyable. In parallel, the new damage model system is now being applied to all our warbirds. We also have a new and exciting World War II map in development. The Blue Nosed Bastards of Bodney is a semi-historical campaign for the P-51D Mustang. It follows the 352nd Fighter Group from May 1944 through the Normandy landings until Operation Bodenplatte in January 1945. This campaign has a plethora of details and Easter eggs to make you feel like a young American flyboy in the Army Air Forces in 1944. Key Features: 14 semi-historical missions focusing on the 352nd Fighter Group A detailed background story, mission contexts, checklists and encounter reports Detailed briefings and briefing images, including separate PDF mission files Unique kneeboard graphics and checklists for each mission Hundreds of specially recorded voice-over messages and radio broadcasts Historically accurate custom skins A wide array of missions including fighter sweep, bomber escort, armed reconnaissance and ground attack DCS: C-101 by AvioDev Update This week, AvioDev is proud to make available the Enhanced Flight Model (EFM) for their C-101EB version and launch the more-weaponized C-101CC version. Purchase from DCS e-shop DCS: C-101 Aviojet module includes both the C-101EB and C-101CC models. The C-101EB model is the primary jet trainer and aerobatic display aircraft of the Spanish Air Force, whilst the C-101CC model, with its 7 hard-points and uprated engine, is a versatile light attack aircraft that has seen combat with the Honduras Air Force against drug traffickers. It is also in service with the Jordanian and Chilean air forces. The two models of the C-101 have many similarities that include cockpit layout, core-systems operation, and aerodynamic design. This commonality brings something for everyone to include lead-in jet training, advanced aerobatics, and light attack. Features of DCS: C-101 include: Complete electrical system modeling Complete circuit breaker simulation with correct failed systems behaviors TARSYN gyro system replicated with exacting detail Accurate flight director system Custom air data simulation (airspeed/altimeter behaviors, etc.) Custom navigation system simulation Complete fuel system modeling Complete hydraulic system modeling Flight controls/landing gear can sustain damage if poorly handled Accurate pressurization system Accurate oxygen system Icing model Fully adjustable cockpit and exterior lighting A quick trailer on C-101EB/CC w EFM is here DCS World 2.5.4 Open Beta This week we updated the Open Beta from 2.5.3 to 2.5.4. Not a particular list of objects...but for example over-the-horizon radar Duga, EW radar Voronezh etc..surveillance radars like Nebo family or Vostok... (not to mention factories, shipyards etc...) a lot of targets to put in a game... We can't have a lot of desired things in this game, but we can still have a lot of other eye-candy things.

It has been confirmed for awhile. Belsimtek's F-4 was bumped to the back of the bus to focus on ED's preference for the F-16. For my entire PC/internet life, F4 has meant a hardcore sim for the the F-16. Belsimtek reveals screenshots of an F-4E that is pretty much exactly what I have wanted all these years, and its development is stopped to make way for another F-16. If it wasn't for TK/Third Wire, I would have been stuck playing Jane's Fighters Anthology and Jane's USAF up to now to be able to enjoy the F-4 in a realistic combat environment. Cheers to TK for keeping me entertained for a decade before DCS World started on the path of my ideal sim: a hardcore F-4/MiG-21 air combat study simulator. DCS World has actually bettered my vision by simultaneously providing both a survey sim and study sim of almost the entire flyable aircraft library with some of the most famous historical air-to-air matchups of all time. I would greatly appreciate it if they could just the the F-4 done before I die.
