17 pointsYeah know one in game but I think this ones better... lots to do....as im dabbling again, its one im finishing now.....but hold on to your hats, its being done as and when. Lots to do... Already done. Animated gears ,bomb doors....took an age as they were down in original 3ds model, and as anyone who uses 3ds max knows most 3ds models have a lot of errors, most of the meshes had seperate polygons...took ages to weld., added spec mapping, sorted out jpegs of painted on numbers etc, to do....here we go lol redo tail fins ...slightly too thick at base and need proper mechanism... tail chute and housing new wings as these are just damaged versions,or rather are split like them.. refuel probe weapon stations might try redo a template intakes need looking at,...dirt ingress-louvre doors to make engine fans need replacing canards are way too thick and clunky-remake then reposition all the pivot points for the control surfaces.. so you see quite a list..... would say two weeks but thats being very conservative lol... it will be when its done...ok thanks cheers Russ BTW this one will be hi def\res unlike the other one :)

= For SF2, Any/All (Full 5 Merged RECCOMENDED!) = This is the release of Marcfighters Atlas Impala Mk.2, single seat COIN/Attack jet as used by the South African Air Force. This aircraft has/had languished for a considerable amount of time in that "hangar of forgotten & unfinished mods". I hope that this will correct that. This mod represents the Atlas Impala MK2, single seat attack jets. The mod uses all stock 3W weapons (which may need further research/adjustments). 25 all new historically correct SAAF serial number decals are included, and Randomization is TRUE These decals are used for both included skins. This is the SAAF -ONLY-, non exported version. No user list was created; the aircraft is single nation only. There are 2 skins, and "Early" and "Late"; the late uses the SF2-date switch and starts in 1982 When in-game, you'll see Atlas Impala MK.II (MB-326K SAAF) on the aircraft drop down selection panel. As is always reccomended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. The Uploader takes NO credit for the aircraft itself, only for those edits and adjustment to get it more in compliance with the SF2 Environment (tm). See "Notes" section for full change log and other VERy important statements. = Please Note: is models is released "AS IS". Anything that cannot be corrected/adjusted via ini edits will remain so for all time = Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein ** Important Note: if you install this to the Angola Mod, be advised that there exists an aircraft named Impala Mk.II. This should NOT conflict with it, but you may have some editing to do, as theirs is labeled "Stand In". It is not advised to just drop this one into that mod without further editing. ** UPDATED: 3/7/2019 "Early" skin has been repainted to remove national markings. All have now been replaced with decals. sf2_atlas_impala-mk2_v2_pack.7z -

Hawker Hunter F.6 ' Red Arrows' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of the stock Hawker Hunter F.6 to give my interpretation as to how it might have looked if the famous Red Arrows display team had flown it in the 1960's. I've kept it simple by using a Gnat-esque scheme but I've used white serial numbers instead of blue. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the HunterF6ra folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the HunterF6ra folder into your Decals folder. That's it! BTW the mission editor can be used to select all 9 aircraft leaving you to get some formation screenshots taken! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. A big thank you to Sundowner for releasing his Hunter tempates to allow ham-fisted amateurs like me to get a bit creative. And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 1 - 07/03/19 -

1 pointthe links below are not templates but should be useful. the F will have decal location entries for Armourdaves F (similar to the G) and the Hill skins will have the Euro 1, SEA wraparound and a desert scheme as worn by one each aircraft with the 466th TFW at Hill AFB before retirement in 1984. The Gs were used by the Georgia ANG until around 1983 (this is before coffee as usual: dates not exact). They were commended for making a European training deployment despite at one point having to stand down all the aircraft for maintenence. They were also in Service at George AFB until 1978 or 79 when the F-4Gs were coming on line. Hill should have the colors and rough patterns needed.

1 pointOf course I see it. The question is, do we take time away from our own enjoyment to publish a set of documents that will probably never be read by other members, let alone acted on? I won't speak for Mr. Jelly but I know that I'm not interested in that. I'd much rather have a member approach me because then I know there's real interest in learning. So far there hasn't been any interest, which is fine, most members just want to fly.

1 pointI understand. Its like how I made my EAW Help Site,. I just had fun doing it. Something I wanted to get documented long a ago, but it took about 14 or so years to get to it and 5 years to make. I didn't and still don't really know the impact its made. Some have been receptive though. Anyhow , how many editors are their? Are they ready to go with a necessary files in place? Are they garnished off into their own zips, or is it a mess? Post them without much in the way of instructions, and just have simple readme's directing modders to e-mails or simhq eaw forum for questions. This way perhaps you can start with a simple editor and publicly document it. If you don't try, the future of UAW modding with be cut off and forgotten. You do see that , right?

1 pointYou don't have to remake the whole thing. Probably it is easier to use Armourdave's F-105D templates and modify them. The images below show the F-105G lod with my unfinished F-105D wrap-around textures. The wings, horizontal stabs, as well as the front and rear fuselage are the same as on the G. The middle part of the fuselage and a few bits on the vertical stab need some work. Compare the available skins and use Mue's lod viewer, you'll see the differences.

1 pointAlways liked the damage modelling in this one, especially with several dozen mods added to tweak it further for more robustness to the aircraft, the "gavagai" mods in particular work well. Bit of a mishap during a balloon attack in the pic. below, but the pilot was mostly okay. Von S

Lockheed F-104C 'Getti Tonanti' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire F-104C to create a fictional F-104C of the famous 'Getti Tonanti' aerobatic display team of the Aeronautica Militare who performed at the opening ceremony of the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome. The real 'Getti Tontanti' flew F-84F's in 1960 so this is just my interpretation of how the Starfighter might have looked with those distinctive Olympic Rings coloured tails. If you haven't got the F-104C then I'm sure you can hack it to fit the F-104G by changing the skin bitmap names, etc. BACKSTORY Entering service in February 1958 with the 83rd Fighter Interceptor Squadron at Hamilton AFB, California the F-104A interceptor served only briefly with the USAF Air Defense Command but this was soon followed by the multi-role F-104C which entered service with USAF Tactical Air Command in September 1958 when the 479th Tactical Fighter Wing at George AFB, California began to re-equip with the type. Despite setting a new world altitude record of 103,395 ft (31,515 m) just a few months later in December 1958 the USAF sharply reduced their orders for the F-104 leading Lockheed to urgently seek export orders and they soon gained an export order from the Italian Government in January 1960 for 40 F-104C's for the Aeronautica Militare. With Italy hosting the Olympic Games in the late summer of 1960, the Italian President Giovanni Gronchi personally asked the US President Dwight D. Eisenhower for the earliest possible delivery date as he wanted to use the F-104C's as part of the opening ceremony. Not only did 'Ike' graciously agree but he also authorised the immediate transfer of 10 F-104C's from USAF stocks which were airlifted to Europe during February and March being reassembled at Ramstein Air Base before being flown to Villafranca Air Base by USAF pilots and officially handed over to the 5th Aerobrigata of the Aeronautica Militare. The F-104C's replaced the F-84F Thunderstreaks of the 'Getti Tonanti' aerobatic display team and this elite unit performed a sensational display at both the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games of the XVII Olympiad held in Rome from August 25th to September 11th, 1960. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-104Cgt folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-104Cgt folder into your main Decals folder. That's it! BTW the mission editor can be used to select all 6 aircraft leaving you to get some formation screenshots taken! CREDITS Thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 1 - 05/03/19 -

The only foreign buyer of the Panther was the Argentine Naval Aviation, which bought 28 ex-USN F9F-2B aircraft in 1957; the first 10 arrived in 1958. Only 24 aircraft were put in service, the rest were used as spares. The first flight of an Argentine Panther was in December 1958, and the last aircraft was put in service in January 1961. The catapults on the then only Argentine carrier, ARA Independencia, were considered not powerful enough to launch the F9F, so the aircraft were land-based. However, in July 1963 a Panther (serial 0453/3-A-119) landed on Independencia as part of trials; becoming the first jet to land on an Argentine aircraft carrier. Argentine Navy F9F-2 Panthers saw combat in the 1963 Argentine Navy Revolt, bombing and strafing a column of the Army 8th Tank Regiment which was advancing on the rebelling Punta Indio Naval Air Base. The attack destroyed several M4 Sherman tanks, at the cost of one F9F Panther shot down. The Argentine Panthers were involved in the general mobilization during the 1965 border clash between Argentina and Chile but no combat occurred. They were taken out of service in 1969 due to the lack of spare parts and replaced with Douglas A-4Q Skyhawks. The Argentine Navy also operated the F-9 Cougar. WHAT'S IN: - a new, dedicated Armada plane [needed to be used from carriers]; 3 Skins - decals, screens CREDITS: - BobRock: Panther - Paulopanz: ARA mod INSTALL: - put all in your mod folder NOTE: To land the Panthers from carriers (even if I made Independencia to use with): [MissionData] NationName=ArgentineNavy ServiceStartYear=1958 ..... 1 pointthere are many different skill levels and personalities amongst the modders here. some add complete instructions barney style, some dont. most of us dumbasses either figure it out (asking for assistance in forum when necessary) or i guess go back to Ace Combat on PS. i know this dumbass got busy learning some years ago. However, if you provide reciept of your purchased mod, we will happily provide a refund or discount on your next mod. Oh wait, you didnt pay? Thats right, we do this for free, working topics we want to around our personal work and life schedules. many projects (esp. campaigns) are years in the making as less than a dozen people are directly active on it, some cases only one primary with small help from a couple of others. shit gets forgotten about at the end, but mods are still free. as a matter of fact it states in most readme's that the mod is freeware and not to be used in any payware projects. what you paid to be a premium member is a donation to the site owner that supports the running of the site as a whole. the modders are freelancers that want to share their work with others in the community, not Erik's employees. but presentations by end users that act as if they are paying for the mods have been discouraging many modders into not releasing any new projects, and pissing others off. if there is a specific issue with a specific mod, address the original author that released it (yes for each individual mod of those many). constructive criticism is actually always welcome. but general bitching and griping "on behalf of others" isnt necessary. we can look up our FB accounts to get that. Clear now?
