Yeah know one in game but I think this ones better... lots to do....as im dabbling again, its one im finishing now.....but hold on to your hats, its being done as and when. Lots to do... Already done. Animated gears ,bomb doors....took an age as they were down in original 3ds model, and as anyone who uses 3ds max knows most 3ds models have a lot of errors, most of the meshes had seperate polygons...took ages to weld., added spec mapping, sorted out jpegs of painted on numbers etc, to do....here we go lol redo tail fins ...slightly too thick at base and need proper mechanism... tail chute and housing new wings as these are just damaged versions,or rather are split like them.. refuel probe weapon stations might try redo a template intakes need looking at,...dirt ingress-louvre doors to make engine fans need replacing canards are way too thick and clunky-remake then reposition all the pivot points for the control surfaces.. so you see quite a list..... would say two weeks but thats being very conservative lol... it will be when its done...ok thanks cheers Russ BTW this one will be hi def\res unlike the other one :)

This aircraft mod represents the probable workout of Dassault's Mirage 4000 and also the first member of an aircraft family as the company always created several variants of each type based on costumer requirement and evolution of technology. Other types and variants will be uploaded as separate packages. This package comes with 2 skin sets, the white prototype available for 4 AC, and a test squadron skin for 26 planes. This model is meant for SF2 games only, SF1 variants will be uploaded at the SF1 section. Install is the regular dropping the contents in their respective places. Please note: The model can be quite heavy on FPS in large formations on weaker machines, so if required, either resize skin files or use lower lods(_nd,001,002,003) as lod1. The model uses the general french weapons, either as part of weapon packs or the Mirage 2000 family. Make sure to read the manual included with the package. ---------------------- Creators of these Aircraft mods as members of CombatAce site: Original 3D work: Cocas Aircraft 3d update and additional changes: Logan4 Cockpit 3d work: Logan4 Aircraft FM: Cliff7600 Aircraft avionics: Loborojo, Cliff7600, logan4 Skin files and decals: Flogger23, Cliff7600, logan4, loborojo Cockpit files: Logan4, Cliff7600 Thanks to Crusader for additional brochure files Big thanks to members of CombatAce for helping and answering our questions and in sorting out some of the issues we got while creating this mod. The prototype variant will be the first in the line of family. It is pending approval... others will follow, hopefully in short intervals and as time allows us to wrap them up.

View File [Fictional] Hawker Hunter F.6 'Red Arrows' Hawker Hunter F.6 ' Red Arrows' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of the stock Hawker Hunter F.6 to give my interpretation as to how it might have looked if the famous Red Arrows display team had flown it in the 1960's. I've kept it simple by using a Gnat-esque scheme but I've used white serial numbers instead of blue. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the HunterF6ra folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the HunterF6ra folder into your Decals folder. That's it! BTW the mission editor can be used to select all 9 aircraft leaving you to get some formation screenshots taken! CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. A big thank you to Sundowner for releasing his Hunter tempates to allow ham-fisted amateurs like me to get a bit creative. And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Just wish to add that the wide range of sounds really clarifies the depth of variety and realism that VonS' mod lends to FE. For such a small community, we are very lucky to have so much talent available to get the best out of this game. Those that are unaware of the level to which FE/FE2 has been taken are missing out.

Conversations with Gterl revealed a problem he has to deal with when making his excellent maps - the building models vary in size. He uses a combination of 100% actual size models and 63% size models - the size intended by TK for FE/FE2 - and has to make numerous adjustments to prevent visual clash between the different sizes. So I have been experimenting with building entire villages and small towns in 63%. Shots below show first effort. The concept is to develop big models of towns and then paint a corresponding street grid base for them. Dunno if this will work, but it's worth looking into if there is a possibility of improving future game maps.

As an austerity measure the initial download contained fresh air. We've had a whip-round and this has now been corrected. Apologies everyone!

Hey guys, First of all, i can't thank you all enough for the support on this little project of mine, i'll make my best for the effort pay off on this! By the way, quotation time: Well, i was actually going around for either a NM finish or some Desert Camouflage (such as the 3W Phantoms use in the Dhimar-Paran map), but I found out that modifying the original skin would've become very silly and it might not get into what i wanted, so yeah; But either of those greenier camos would be really nice as well! Wow, that looks really great though! That said, i really thought that the wings would look a little off, as the real-life aircraft had those modified, right? Well, guess that's another story. I'll see what i can do with this template, cheers For the rest of the people who i didn't get a proper reply, once again I thank for the support, i'll do my best to make sure you all won't be disappointed with it!

Hey, we didn't talk about "massfraction" ! As it is a fraction, there's no unit of measure. It uses the EmptyMass= entry in kilogram. I noticed that the TW model data.ini don't have massfraction value for ONE component, the fuselage. So I guess that each component has its massfraction value and what's left goes to the fuselage. Then, there could be 2 issues : - The total of all massfraction values is not equal to 1 The aircraft will weight more (or less) than the given EmptyMass value. And that's why only ONE component shouldn't have massfraction value, the fuselage. But, the fuselage should also have the right weight, so you have to do the maths and check ALL component weight values (EmptyMass * massfraction = weight in KG). It's easy to find the weight of a J79 jet engine, it's more difficult to guess some other parts (propellers, horizontal stabs...) - There's more than one component that didn't have a massfraction value Then, the fuselage will share its weight with the pitot tube or the pylons deleted from the 3D model... and it will affect the flight model. exemple : Component[010]=RefuelProbe [RefuelProbe] ParentComponentName=Nose ModelNodeName=Refuel_Probe ShowFromCockpit=TRUE MassFraction=0.0 I want to see the refuel probe from the cockpit view, but I don't want the refuel probe to weight 1700 lbs ! or Component[010]=Remove [Remove] ParentComponentName=Fuselage ModelNodeName=boîte01 DestroyedNodeName=Boîte01 HasAeroCoefficients=FALSE I wanted to have the antenna deleted from the 3D model, but the game will give the mesh "boîte01" the weight of +6000 lbs luckily, the mesh is on the fuselage, and not at the end of the nose, or worse at a wingtip... My thoughts : Each component must have a mass fraction value, unless there's only ONE left that will take the all the rest of the weight, the fuselage. If you do some editing to make meshes shown or not, be sure the massfraction value is realistic. --------------------------------------- If you change the EmptyMass value, because the C version is heavier than the A, then all massfraction values must be checked. Maybe the stronger airframe will weight more, but if the vertical tail is the same its massfraction value must be adapted. exemple : F-101A EmptyMass=11420.00 [VertTail] ... MassFraction=0.0365 -> 416.83 kg F-101C EmptyMass=11920.00 (+500 kg) [VertTail] ... MassFraction=0.035 -> 417.2 kg If the F-101A and F-101C share the exact same vertical tail, it's Ok (370 grams error) If the F-101C vertical tail is heavier than the F-101A one, then it's wrong. Thanks for reading !

Heading into the Mach loop, North Wales.... Turning hard... Out the other side.. Having worked on the original Tornado model created by ArmourDave way back in 2007 and trying to keep it up to date over the years I think I'm in a pretty good position to pass comment on this latest addition to the Strike Fighters stable. What guuruu has achieved here can only be described as OUTSTANDING work ! He and his team have put together the most complete and accurate representation of the mighty Tonka I have ever seen in any sim. The old Tornado models have served us well over the years, they were in their time as good as it gets but time has moved on and now we have a worthy replacement, if you don't already have these excellent new "guuruu" Tonka models you are definately missing out. As the "Mighty Fin" as we know it bowed out of RAF service just last week it's great to know I just have to fire up my pc and go fly a mission in one to be able to see one in the ( virtual )air again. I say again, a huge thanks to guuruu and his team.

I've heard good thoughts about the Intel NUC SkullCanyon series...the top end ones with discrete graphics (probably would have gone with one of those if I wasn't a Mac person and decided on the MacPro instead). Top end NUCs are around 1500 USD, give or take a couple of hundred $ depending on configuration. The SkullCanyon series comes with no OS and RAM/HD I think...but you can build to taste on Amazon or shop around for different components for it. Link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G3GKYMB/ Happy holidays, Von S P.S. For Win10, go with Pro instead of Home edition and you can meter/control OS updates more effectively - less updates, less hassle.
