Bit of a pain as theres quite few oddities..odd polys vetices......some parts arent corrects size..needs resetting as X-Form Reset. mapping...when texture added will soon fill up...luckily can use a lot of the other sabre textures for gears interiors etc etc.. cylinder mapped fuse but need cut few polys to tidy it up,as some are centred and offset the mapping...mapping started...done template...well basic one to map ...

I strongly agree with what @streakeagle said. I do not blame TK for moving on with other kinds of products, but at the same time I wished he would understand that SF2 is unique in its kind, and that with better marketing he could probably have had more success. SF2:NA was a total failure at launch in my view, probably the result of poor planning. As for the repackaging, I have mixed feelings about the cost; had he done it before, let's say in 2015 (SF2 was last patched in 2013), the price would be fine. But it's 2019, those games have not aged really well, so $100 is a bit too much for today's market, and it's not going to be competitive with today's flight sims. That being said, I have to recognize the value of the SF series; seriously, he and his small team had to put a lot of effort into it, to reproduce so many flyable Cold War jets (the expansion packs include the most "exotic" ones, with fantastic and detailed 3d cockpits). Not to mention the research that went into the making of campaigns with correct units; a modular decals system which proved to be effective for his style of doing things and so on. So, I do not know, $100 is somewhat justified by the effort that went into it during the years (minus the broken patches and removed features).

TK didn't turn his back on us... he turned his future toward being able to pay his bills because many if not most SFP1/WoX fans never bought SF2 and countless others were simply pirating all of the SFP1/WoX/SF2 games. If the newer material had sold as well as it needed to, particularly the XP2 (with the mission editor) and SF2:NA, we might have had an SF3 or at least a very well polished and updated SF2. But market forces convinced TK that he needed to make dumbed down games that more people could enjoy and in a marketing strategy that guaranteed him a steady income stream even if the players never actually paid him $1 (free to play with ads). Repackaging SF2 into this bundle is something he should have done a long time ago. If he really wants to move product, he would price the bundle at $40 to $60 like a console game or a modern flight sim. People new to SF2 should not have to debate about which games to buy. 10-year old obsolete games still selling at the original retail price, while countless alternatives are available at an extreme discount through STEAM, GOG, or outright free as abandonware doesn't make sense. $100 makes it a lot more accessible, but that is still a lot of money for some people.

Interesting, possibly a last gasp but I get the impression SF-2 is picking up some new customers who are looking for something a bit more interesting than the cell phone games and whatever.

Yeah I understand that. I won't lie either. It is a bit too pricey for considering the graphics engine, the age of the series overall, the fact that DCS is leaps and bounds better. Thirdwire is an independent developer however and if I could I would support the guy in all possible ways. SF2 series for me will always have a special place in my heart, and on my desktop. In fact it's a damn good entry series into combat flight simulation. My adventure started with a little box "Wings over Europe: Cold War Gone Hot" that I bought at a Big Lots. Then from there I ran into this weird website called CombatACE ... seriously what the hell is a mod and why is this really big website filled with them? Is it even legal? A little click here a little click there, next thing I know I downloaded some Column5 mods, NATO mods, got a couple of more mods here and there and I felt like the ruler of my own universe. So Thirdwire for me has a nostalgia factor, and that small company somewhere in Texas is still kicking and trying to stay on top of things. So $200 worth of games for $100 is something I wish I could buy with my broke butt. I mean you get help out Thirdwire and then you can get more bang for your buck because CombatACE has all kinds of mods that work best with a Full 5 merge install. So one package for endless possibilities throughout various era's of aviation.

I've been a flight sim addict since the late '80s. Think I've owned and flown 90 percent of the flight sims sold since then in the U.S. and Europe. For all it's 'faults' this is the best overall flight sim I've every flown. Some have better graphics, some better flight modeling, etc... but overall, this sim allows us addicts to do easily more with this game than any other available. That's why most of us are here. I'm grateful for the game. Although a bit aged and not perfect, it's still my flight sim of choice. I find it difficult to complain about something that's given me so much fun over the years.

Still, I believe a worthwhile investment. After having had an HD crash last December, and having to rebuild from the original release exes, and then running around like a lunatic trying to collect all the patches, finding out you've lost a few DLC exes... yeah, 100 bucks US; be good to have the whole set archived for such emergencies

I would be very surprised if there was even one change. This is a last grab for cash before SF2 becomes so old that it may not run on Windows anymore. They aren't selling so well at $30 a pop plus DLC costs. So this is a chance for people who held out on getting SF2 because they were happy with all the free stuff for SFP1/WoX to get all of it for a decent price. I can still remember the 2009? release which sold at Christmas for like $25 or $30 that had all of the the then available SF2 games integrated into a single downloadable installation file. Many people regretted missing that release over the years. As I already have everything released, the only motivation for me to buy such a package is just to thank TK for over a decade of fun flying Phantoms and MiGs over Vietnam and Israel. Even with all remaining bugs/limitations, this is really quite a deal when you consider how many aircraft are available and how many historical maps with missions and campaigns are available to fly over.

Next to the added control surface animations and added animations on groundobjects, I've managed to add two new animations, bulletholes and oil leak, and created the possibillity for 4 more to be used for other plane damage or whatever comes along. These are not really animations in the true sense of the word but more a state change of a textured polygon. Some of these animations can use multiple states making them a true animation, but most only use one or two states. The new ones only use a single state, so on or off, but their placement on the 3D models can be anywhere and for instance turn the front canopy into a partially blackened window with bulletholes, which will make it harder to see properly. It can also be used to blacken the engine area or cowlings, remove plating and show underlying struts or add tearing or cracks in the windshield, etc. These animations work both inside as outside the plane but there are a few snags. First of all the cockpit can be switched on or off with a key pressure, unless this feature is disabled in the EAW.INI, but when switched off the animation is also switched off and you'll have a clear view inspite of the animation being active. A huge advantage is that the realtime event triggers for these animations have always been there already, so there's no additional cost to framerates. Ofcourse new plane and cockpit models have to be created which will use these animations, 30 planes is probably doable but it will take a long time to get them all working. Besides that none of the default cockpits have glass panels in them and adding them is another tough job which requires proper knowledge about the Rendering Sequence and the use of 3DZ parts. However I have a few new cockpits which do have glass panels already, so these are most likely to get these new animation codes first. I can't see any issues for the stock planes but I can't say how far it can be taken, they need sufficient room in their textures to add new drawings, plus new polygon overlays and possibly a recalculated R/S, which is always a pain. So further devellopment is on a plane to plane basis as there is no easy bulk solution yet, but there are a few old tricks I may be able to use. VonBeerhofen

I just did that for someone into flight sims that I have been talking to on a discord server. This is what I found, the full cost of all components purchased separately is $431.65 while the all in one pack is $99.99. That is a deal for someone just starting out on with SF2. In fact it is less than three of the regular install components or the and some $70 to $80 cheaper than the total price of just the DLC. Also, if you already have all of the included components. You can get access to the complete pack for free.

excellent work Russ. As said, don't rush through it! Fix whatever you think needs fixing; we ain't in not rush! my plan, once I have the base template, is a generic NM skin. Some of our other painters are FAR better than I for the three-tone SEA post 63 skins! (I'll be glad to make all the decals, though) If you need some reference books, I've a couple in the Library!

Gents, to see if it's a good price, worthy of spending our hard earned cash, just add up the cost fo the 5 games, 2 expansion packs and 29 DLCs Number don't lie, and I'm getting mine. I'll find 100 bucks somewhere

Bought separate the individual items are $421.21........so $99.99 isn't that bad from that viewpoint I guess. I wish he would have stated Win 10 support really considering Win 7 is end of life early next year.

The Ilyushin Il-10 (NATO reporting name: "Beast") was a Soviet ground attack aircraft developed at the end of World War II by the Ilyushin construction bureau. It was also license-built in Czechoslovakia by Avia as the Avia B-33. After the war, until the early 1950s, the Il-10 was a basic Soviet ground attack aircraft. It was withdrawn from service in 1956. The Il-10 and its licensed variant, the Avia B-33, became a basic ground attack plane of the Warsaw Pact countries. From 1949 to 1959, the Polish Air Force used 120 Il-10s (including 24 UIl-10), and 281 B-33s. In Poland, the B-33 was modified to carry 400 l fuel tanks under its wings. From 1950 to 1960, Czechoslovakia used 86 Il-10s, including six UIl-10s, and about 600 B-33s. From 1949 to 1956, the Hungarian Air Force used 159 Il-10s and B-33s, named "Párduc" (Panther). From 1950 to 1960, the Romanian Air Force used 14 Il-10s and 156 B-33s. Bulgaria also used these aircrafts. In the late 1940s, 93 Il-10 and UIl-10s were given to North Korea. They were then used in the 57th Assault Aviation Regiment during the early phase of the Korean War. They were initially used with success against the weak anti-aircraft defense of South Korean forces (following the US refusal to supply the south with "heavy weapons"), but then they suffered heavy losses in encounters against the USAAF fighters and were bombed on the ground themselves. After several weeks, about 20 remained. In the summer of 1950, North Korea received more aircraft from the USSR. The North Koreans claimed to sink a warship on 22 August 1950 with Il-10s, but it was never confirmed. From 1950, Il-10s were used by the People's Republic of China, in two regiments of an assault aviation division. They were used in combat during a conflict with the Republic of China, (Taiwan), over border islands in January 1955. They remained in service until 1972 (replaced by Nanchang Q-5). From 1957, Yemen used 24 B-33s. As we realy needed this plane for every early cold war scenery (KAW, SF2EU, TSF, Taiwan, Timor ....) I decided to finish it at all cost and skin in every known post war liveries. This is a real team work (see credits) WHAT'S IN: - the beast (at last!) - 29 all around world skins (I lacked only Yemen & Indonesia ones, due no pics found) - pilots - guns - weapons CREDITS: - Aleks original model - Cocas 3D upgrading & fixing - Spillone104 3D debugging and fishing up (a new proper back Mg!), sounds - Baffmeister fantastic FM setings - Paulopanz skins, decals & screens OPERATIONS: - canopy open 10 key INSTALL: - all in your mod folder and overwrite TO UPGRADE: - some chinese numbers I wasn't able to find/make by myself ..... Guys, speaking of source code (not going to happen), do not think that it is easy to add new features or even fix bugs. You need a team of expert people to work on it with lots of time and dedication. Not to mention that what you add can break something; it's a difficult process. We do not even know if the code is commented, and easily understandable. Actually, it's questionable that the source code even exists at this point. Who knows? Maybe TK threw it all in the recycle bin. I am always hoping to see a more refined SF2 game, with bugs fixed and with the few features that TK had originally envisioned since SF1. But it's just a wish. Nothing we can do about it. You cannot change TK's mind and his reasons for moving on.

A leak of the source code... wondering If we could benefit from it in order to fix long time bugs like external ECM not working, touching runway sound, or even adding more features like slewable EOS and A-G radar systems...

I have to save some money, then. This is exactly what I was hoping for! Finally TK has made a decision that will bring value to his games.

India's first indigenous fighter, built by HAL and designed by Prof Kurt Tank of Focke-Wulf fame. The aircraft first flew in 1964 and was in service till the mid-80s (the last planes retired in 1990). Three Squadrons Nos 10, 31 and 220 Squadron operated the Maruts over time. A total of 112 Single Seaters and 18 Two seaters were produced. 6 new skins, working AA Rockets put in place, openable cockpit (Key=0) without pilot's head cutting, no more bumping in taxing, sounds, new SF-2 screens. This is a Fiat G.91R pack, taking the old SFP1 mods and make them SF2 compatible. The pack includes all three G.91R versions 1,3 & 4, with all the neccessary weapons, pilots, guns & sounds. Five missions are also included. You need to install the NATO fighters campaign for these missions and the excellent Ravenclaw_007 USAF & Luftwaffe Phantoms. I tried to make as complete as possible, taking parts from the excellent G.91Y of ErikGen, such as the cockpit, sounds and the ejection seat. I worked the skins (converted into jpg), the loadouts and of course the data.ini trying to do it as realistic as I could. The real credits should go to First and above all - ErikGen for make them possible. Also - Andriam "Kreelin" who made the original Flight Model of the G.91Rs for SPF1. - Maurizio "NGHENGO" for the loading and hangar screens - Spillone104 for the jet sound, photos and suggestions during beta testing of the initial G.91Y release - Steve S for the invaluable infos about the cockpit of the initial G.91Y release - Steve S, Soulfreak & Muesli for the amazing skins - Ravenclaw_007 for the amazing weapons that made sense to rework the G.91R - Viper63 for the excellent pilots - bobrock, Soulfreak, Dave, Canadair, 76.IAP-Blackbird, Veltro2k and Nghengo as beta testers of the initial G.91Y release Known issues - The Attachment Position of the pylons are slighly wrong and should have been corrected. Hopefully in a later release. - The cockpit of the G.91Y looks a bit odd, since the "Yankee" was twin-engined and I hope that someone would correct this. - A late period ('80s) skin is missing for the Portoguese G.91R/4. I hope that someone would make a skin for it. I had in mind to rework the G.91R for years, and finally now I managed to do it. Better late than ever. I think most people know my love for small planes. Remember this is a FREEWARE
