9 pointsa surprise WIP from angelp. Still a long way off, but has much promise! Reusing the decals from my old DAT Boston mod. There's a gun-nosed A-20G in the works (also reusing my decals from the ETO Havoc). It looks really good close up; i've sent him over 300 megs of e-books on the Havoc. So, it's gonna be done right! Been begging for a new one for years....

6 pointsWill post screens of other wips asap... now this Jetranger 206 was a freeware model adapted by me... What I did was add details taken from another model.....by taken I mean new meshes meade by me ...NOT used anyone elses meshes. Heres a question... 1,If I import a model...and actually make exact copy of meshes...by copy I mean...each part I need I make from scratch, using the mesh from the model as a template...then I delete the original model and meshes and use the newly created meshes in my now new model...is this legit or piracy?.... I think its morally ok to release my "Clone" model......as a new freeware model....(hence why not released this yet) plus needs a data.ini I requested from YAP guys opinions please4 from moderators ONLY please. 1 model I have...I asked the FSX creator if it was ok and he said,"Well as its your created meshes,no problem here " so PS...any model Not 100% by me will be labeled as such.... Only models NOT made by me and are freeware are.... 1, Pak Fa T-50 (creator donated.) 2,B66 3,P47 C,D 4, hind. 5,Mig25 ALL others on list ARE solely my creations.... The Jetranger took ages to get to this finish..(what if RAF version) .I literally had to weld EVRY mesh....relocate them and link etc...some parts are TOTAL rebuild....took me a week of a few hours every evening to fix just body, tail, rotors and doors...so you can see it takes ages to complete models that arent created by us moders here, freeware stuff is usually 3ds or an .OBJ file which need a lot of fixing.

SF2 RA-5C Vigilante Pack v.2 9/27/2019 -For SF2, Any and All (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended) This is a revamp of Julhiem's RA-5C "Vigilante" carrier based recon aircraft. It has has several updates/upgrades/changes to make it more SF2 compliant. This is the complete aircraft, with everything included. If you have any earlier version(s) it is suggested you delete BOTH the aircaft and decals subfolders, as this version replaces them it toto. Or at least, remove or store them elsewhere. The aircraft comes with 6 skins, including the original released single skin. These skins are: RVAH-1 'Smokin' Tigers (USS Independence 1965, CVW-7, SEA, first combat cruise) RVAH-5 'Savage Sons' (USS Ranger CVW? 19??) ** RVAH-6 'Fleurs' (USS Kittyhawk 1971, CVW-11 SEA) RVAH-7 'Peacemakers' (USS Ranger, 1978/79, WesPac, Squadron's Final Cruise) RVAH-9 'Hoot Owls' (USS Saratoga 1967, CVW-3 Med cruise) RVAH-11 'Checkertails' (USS constellation, CVW-9 SEA 1971/72) **= original release skin Almost all markings are decals, excepting some painted-on squadron insignia. Serial/BuNums are 100% historically accurate (by unit) Decal randomization is TRUE. Skins remain in bmp format, as they're not that large. The SF2 "date switch" is active. The canopy opens/closes with the Standard Animation Keystroke (tm), Shift/0 (zero). As is always reccomended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. See "Notes" for list of changes. If there's anything missing or "off", please let me know and I'll try to find it. This mod got lost in the shuffle with several other large projects. Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein -

2 pointsBasically same as adding a plane model or tank etc.... but.... head should be the parent node...and pivot point to where his head swivels etc..usually the neck area .(game automatically uses this co ord to make his head move.) set the heads corodinate point to his eye line...the co ords being the position you add to the data.ini Position=0.0,3.80,0.63 < then move this point in 3ds max to world centre as you would with a plane when exporting... then same as plane etc... his name should be same as what you add to data.ini Mypilot.LOD for example as pointed out above.and folder has the skin in etc etc

1 pointcollision lod = copy/paste ship's main lod up and back into the ship's main folder (it will now read as "name-of-ship_copy.lod" rename to "name-of-ship_collision.lod" enter said name into ships' data ini done.

1 pointMaybe I'm crazy but I've decided this week while RL gives me a slow moment to try to port this SF1 attempt at a Steregushchiy class corvette over to SF2. Nihon Hitori 2020 really needs ships of 2020, not 1990! I have the mesh, I am going over the ini codes from successful SF2 Russian/Soviet warships to port over. What I don't have is a collision.LOD.

1 pointThese lines are taken from Mirage F-1C (81) data (F-1C_81_DATA): ... // Crew --------------------------------------------------------- [Pilot] SystemType=PILOT_COCKPIT PilotModelName=Ada_MF1C Position=0.0,3.80,0.63 SeatModelName=MK GW5 SeatPosition=0.00,3.78,0.695 MinExtentPosition=-0.25, 5.91,-0.215 MaxExtentPosition= 0.25, 6.99, 0.92 CanopyNodeName=Canopy CanopyAnimationID=7 ... The bold line is what you need to look at. The pilot model which is used for F-1C_81 is the Ada_MF1C which must be located at ...\Objects\Pilots. So, you open the aircraft_type_data.ini and you modify the PilotModelName=. Therefore you can replace the current pilot model with another one.

1 pointYou're wrong, Stratos. You can add a reference map in TFDtool, but I never used that function. It's less than ideal, because you'd need to find a perfectly squared reference map which matches the terrain's HFD exactly, otherwise the placement of things will be way off. I do what Gepard says; I use charts, Google Earth and the heightmap view function of TFDtool, which shows coastlines and even river valleys. It takes weeks of full work, but due to RL it takes months to add most of the Real World rivers by hand via TFDtool, on a rather big terrain area.

1 pointHi, russouk2004, did you consider making the BAC Jet Provost T.Mk5? that would be a nice addition to the UK models jet that you have been making.
-
1 pointTorno got an YE-152M in work.. @ Russo: Hawks, PR.9 Canberra and Fuji T-1 would be very welcome! ;-)

1 pointWhat you are doing is exactly what I've done with the Sea Vixen m8......the whole lot is basically a highly modified clone of the original, again I started with a freeware .obj file which like you say needs lots of fixing......to put it mildly.
-
1 pointI thought as much...anyways...all but 2 models were in the freeware pack released by Alphasim....they just stipulated that they were to be freeware use only...which is fine
-
1 pointindeed, as you've rebuilt it from the bottom up so to speak, it's yours to do with as you see fit

Cessna O-1E BirdDog Pak -for 3rdWire O-1E- = For SF2, Any and All = Please Note: this is =NOT= a full aircraft mod. The LOD files are =NOT= included, as they are propritery of 3rdWire, and cannot be shared. So ... you =MUST= have one of the original 1stGen games - SFP1, WoV or WoE to extract the 4 needed LOD files from their Objects.cat. Instructions are in the 'To Install' section. = This is a major overhaul of the stock, 1stGen O-1E BirdDog with a new, functioning cockpit, 4 skins and all new historically accurate serial numbers (albeit generic in nature, representing no particular unit; even the Canadian ones) The skins are: RCAF/CF CO-119 by ext (iirc) OD Green by ??? USAF white (stock) Pakistani Army Green (based on above, from Indo/Pak mod) The RCAF/CF skin has all new decals, matching those used by Canada (*please seen "Notes" below for more on the CF serials*). The OD Green skin from ?? has the "US Army" tag remade new, replacing that from my ancient L-19 mod, that was in the wrong font. The USAF skin uses stock decals, as it has always done (F-100 serials). Basically, other than stock National Insigia (and serials on the USAFWhite), all decals are new. The cockpit is based off Kesselbrut's Yak-3 pit, HEAVILY modified to fit the O-1, with gauges repainted and converted/recalibrated to US standard (knots & feet). Some gauges do not work properly, but this is the closest we have (or more truthfully, the best I could find). Lots of moves and other tweeks to both the data and cockpit ini make it fit like it kinda sorta shoulda. Decal randomization is set to TRUE, so be at least at whichever patch level gave that to us. The aircraft uses stock HVARs, but for fun I've included the M-60 underwing machine gun. So you can shoot stuff up. A revamped version of the 7.62mm M-60 gun is also included. A new Userlist.ini is supplied, with most of the Dog's users. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them -CAREFULLY-!! .... Also, see the "Notes" section for Vitally Important Information . Seriously ... you NEED to read it. In fact, after unzipping, you might want to read this document through before installing. Happy Landings! wrench kevin stein -
