Supermarine Spitfire IXC - Advanced Fighter Training Group, Imperial Iranian Air Force, 1947 When Iran ordered Hawker Hurricanes from the UK in 1940 there was never any real hope of the order being immediately fulfilled due to the urgent wartime demands of the Royal Air Force although 10 war weary Hurricanes were transferred from RAF Middle East Command stocks during 1943. When hostilities ceased the Iranian government asked the UK government for more advanced fighters and this was agreed leading to the transfer of 20 Supermarine Spitfire IXC's from RAF Mediterranean and Middle East Command. All 20 Spitfires were delivered to the Advanced Fighter Training Group of the Flying Training School at Doshan Teppeh during 1946.

MiG-21SMT *************** This mod is made for SF2. ---------------------------------------------------------- I. History One of the major problems of the MiG-21 was the short range of the plane. The reason for it was the small internal fuel volume. To solve the problem additional tanks on the back were installed. First one in the MiG-21PF, later three beginning with MiG-21R. When the soviet Air Force demanded to make the MiG-21 to a nuclear weapon platform soon the short range seemt to be the major problem. So the designers took the latest version of the bird, the MiG-21SM and increased the fuel capacity of the back tanks dramatically. The MiG-21SMT was born. In the troops the plane was not liked very well. The pilots hated it to fly such an non agile plane. The plane got the nickname "Humpback" and this was not meant positive. Later a lot of SMT were reworked "in field", the big backtank was removed and replaced by the backtank of the MiG-21bis Lasur. Such reworked planes were called MiG-21ST. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- II. CREDITS: While making the MiG-21SMT i used a lot of files made by other modders. Thanks for this files! The LOD file is made: ~~~~~~~~~~ by TK The skin is made: ~~~~~~~ by Spillone104 The flight model is made : ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ by TK and modded by Spillone104 and a little bit by me The Cockpit is made ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ by Paladrian (Mago) The mods for the engine exhausts, nose antennas and pitot tubes and the big backtank for the SMT are all made ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ by Spillone104 ---------------------------------------------------------- III. UPDATE: Though these have no actual barring in the FPS comparison between sets (as this has been strictly maintained/controlled in each case), these are my Workshop settings that I have been using with my system in both PE and now in BH&H II in case anyone was interested: AC 5 ,TR 3, SC 3, EF 5, CL 5, AS 5, TS 3, TBM 1, CSS 9, CSD 8, EnR 5, GL 5, DL 1 I utilized the exact same testing procedure as detailed in first post. I tested out Panama Red's "WOFF PE Scenery Improved (Balanced)" with BH&H II (it includes various fps tweaks (so is more than just its title, jsyk)) and also by suggestion and request, VonS's WOTR GPU tuner (properly installed and injected into BH&H II). I utilized both VonS_MaxFPSnGraphicsGPUtuner_ver1.1 with VonS_MaxFPSnGraphicsGPUtuner_ver1.2 - it was thought that the WOTR tunes may be better suited for BH&H II vs. his PE GPU tuner. I will consolidate data from previous testing for comparison purposes as well. Results (numbers indicate FPS average): BH&H II Stock With VonS GPU tuner (PE) With PR SI (Balanced) (PE) With VonS GPU tuner (WOTR) Defend 77.5 97.9 94.9 95.3 Snipes 64.1 73.1 76.6 65.1 Large DF 70.0 86.1 83.2 66.8 Average 70.5 85.7 84.9 75.7 Average Change vs Stock +22.6% + 20.4% +7.4% Obviously results can vary per system and settings. These have just been my precise experiences on mine through as controlled a testing procedure I could do (see disclaimer first post). And these all offer differences in visual experiences as well -- and those are far more subjective so I will leave it in this post as a purely factual numbers. Hope this has been interesting or useful to some of you - and thank you both VonS and Panama Red for your work with WOFF - outstanding! And thank you BH&H II developers for creating such an amazing simulation and indeed, tribute. It is absolutely incredible! (as is the series in totality). On a personal note, I am continuing to investigate settings/changes/alterations that can help me mitigate an issue near and dear to me that seems to be the only real drawback/negative - and that is the fluidity of mouse view in particular that has changed for me since moving to BH&H II - however, since it is of more personal nature, I will reframe from posting my continued investigation of it in here. Happy flying everyone!

The pivot points of the slats are in the middle of the fuselage, so which ever way you try to set that up would not work right. Go with the planed virtual way as you intended.

Phoooey on the TFD tool!!! I actually only use for minor height adjustments. I know, I know, not everyone has the TE experience I have. Brother, don't I know it!!! Of course, you all can see how I cheat by painting the tile transition edges, and the roads and river paths. Did the sea/land coastline tiles too!! It cuts down time trying to match, and makes all the edges perfect (you'll find that screw up on the stock 3 terrains, too) I'm a cheater!!! I'm a cheater!!! hahaha hahaha I drink to my own cleverness!!!

The TAC will also display the Instructor Mode Information (CTRL-T) which provides some indication with what the games expects you to be doing (not that this has to be done). As I gained more experience I found I did not like the RADAR map of the TAC - so I set the BGSCALE to .01 (IIRC) which effectively hides the RADAR screen but allows the INSTRUCTOR mode info to be displayed.

Popped into St-Pol and met some of the Naval chaps, they seem to think it was a good idea for me to take up one of their Tripehounds. What a nimble and sporty little beast it is too! It was a glorious afternoon... such a joy to be up there on such a day. On the way back to their drome I saw a train near the coast and chased it along for awhile... a nice end to an enjoyable flight.

Erik, I'm sure that Blade was unaware that this might be a problem. He is a good bloke. I didn't know it was wrong to do, either, but it does make sense, now that you mention it. Cheers!

My friend in other models published in CA this happens, the cannons are fired out of range, in several, such as the Arleigh Burke Destroyers, and the Soviets, it only does not happen when the missiles are long-range and out of visual range, but With short and medium range missiles, I've always seen what happens

I’m not at the PC for another half hour but..have you tried toggling the autopilot Fanny? It may just be set on by default?? Try turning Autopilot on/off . Edit, also maybe try unplugging any sticks, then load a scenario or quick combat see if the issue still occurs

Thanks guys, Pol, that's a very injured Charles Nungesser in my profile pic, so if he's flying around in an Albatros, it's only to get to a party over the lines . Here's another couple from today's jaunts.

For fun, try finding the early 1960's movie "X-15". Has some very cool flying sequences (and Charles Bronson!!) Believe it or not, I still have my VHS copy! EDIT: Found it on YouTube!!

I don't think that's what he was referring to, Kevin. Some users wrongly believe that the Terrain Editor can automatically add rivers and roads using .ini lists; this function was never implemented in TW's Terrain Editor, despite it being shown in the GUI. For cities it's a different matter, city lists do work to an extent. The only way to properly add rivers and roads is to place each single tile manually via TFDtool. There's no easy way.

I believe VonS has mentioned that with his mod on you’ll lose some ambient sounds aswell. I tried Panama Reds mod just has a quick test and I believe I lost some sounds there aswell. My opinion fwiw, I agree with others ..it’s the smoothest version so far it loads incredibly quick, beautiful sound beautiful visuals. I’m keeping mods off for the time being but..it could help folks with less powerful rigs that might not mind losing some of BHaH II features so for that cheers Redwolf for testing and thanks VonS for the mod.
