Install instructions (please follow these carefully):
First and foremost, be clear on what module is actually installed on your PC, and what is not. To repeat install requirements:
Requirements:
SF2 Israel, SF2 Vietnam, SF2 Europe, July 2012 patch level or above, 6GB of HDD space.
Recommended but not necessary:
SF2 Expansion Pack 1, SF2 Expansion Pack 2, SF2 North Atlantic. (See install instructions step 4.)
Make sure the minimum install requirements are met, i.e. SF2I, SF2V and SF2E, otherwise problems will occur, from the minor missing aircraft and objects, to the severe game hangs / CTDs. Further if you do not have SF2Exp1, SF2Exp2 or SF2NA, extra install step 4 is needed!
1. Set up the Mod folder.
a. Go to the SF2 root directory, make a copy of an .exe of choice (i.e. StrikeFighters2 Vietnam.exe), and rename it to StrikeFighters2 Korea.exe. Run it once, set game options. When setting graphics, recommend turning off shadows (Shadows: Low). Exit the game.
b. Go to the generated mod folder (C:\Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Korea\), delete the objects folder.
2. Set up the Korea Terrain.
a. Download Wrench’s KoreaV3 terrain here:
http://combatace.com/files/file/13415-sf2-korea-terrain-v3/
b. Go to the mod folder (C:\Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Korea\), create a new folder named Terrains.
c. Extract the downloaded KoreaV3.7z, cut the newly extracted Korea3 folder, paste it into the Terrains folder created above.
Note, after this step, the various terrain files and textures etc. should reside in this path: C:\Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Korea\Terrains\Korea3\
3. Set up the mod.
a. Download the 3 .7z files for this pack, extract them and put the contents of the first two .7z files together (StrikeFighters2_Korea_1_of_3.7z and StrikeFighters2_Korea_2_of_3.7z).
b. Cut the StrikeFighters2 Korea folder, and overwrite it over the mod folder (paste it into C:\Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\)
Note, after this step, the mod folder should be populated with the following:
Campaigns, Controls, Effects, Flight, Menu, Missions, Objects, PilotData, Screenshots, Sounds, Terrains, as well as Options.ini and Version.ini.
4. Step for not having the recommended game installs. (If all three of the recommended games: SF2 Exp1, Exp2 and North Atlantic, are already installed, feel free to skip this step.)
Go to the extracted contents of the third .7z file (StrikeFighters2_Korea_3_of_3.7z), and enter the folder named "No_NA_EXP1_EXP2".
a. If you do not have SF2 North Atlantic, copy the contents of the folder "No NA" into your mod folder (C:\Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Korea\).
b. If you do not have SF2 Expansion Pack 1, copy the contents of the folder "No EXP1" into your mod folder.
c. If you do not have SF2 Expansion Pack 2, copy the contents of the folder "No EXP2" into your mod folder.
5. Mod specific .ini configs
a. In your SF2 installation directory where all the game .exe resides, make a copy of StrikeFighters2 Israel.ini (or any other similar ini) and rename it StrikeFighters2 Korea.ini. Open the newly created .ini and find the following:
[Directory]
...
CampaignsDirectory=Campaigns
...
And change it to:
CampaignsDirectory=C:\Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Korea\Campaigns\
*Please do not just copy paste this line but replace [username] with whatever’s set on your PC.
This step is to prevent stock campaigns from displaying which can sometimes cause problems.
b. In your Mod folder (C:\Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Korea\), open up the file Options.ini, find the [instantAction] section, and replace it with the following:
[instantAction]
AircraftType=F-86E-10
MissionMap=Korea3
StartTime=15:30:00
StartDate=09/18/1951
StartTimeDeviation=120
TextureSet=0
NationalMarking=0
SquadronMarking=0
AircraftNumber=0
KillMarking=0
This would get InstantAction working spawning F-86s, Mig-15s etc.
--- Above are essential steps. Optional steps follow.
6. Files for payware mods.
Go to the extracted contents of the third .7z file, and enter the folder named "Payware Files".
a. The contents in the folder "For Razbam Banshee" are for the F2H-2 aircraft sold by Razbam. If you have it, drop the contents from this folder into the mod folder (C:\Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Korea\), and then drop the .LOD files from your purchase into their corresponding paths (banshee korea.LOD, and f2h2cockpit.LOD for the cockpit). Banshees will thus fly sorties in campaigns.
b. The contents in the folder "For YAP Essex" are for Carrier Pack 1 (CV-34 Oriskany and F9F) sold by Yankee Air Pirate. If you have it, drop the contents from this folder into the mod folder, and then drop Essex_Korea.LOD from your purchase into its corresponding path. Next, create a copy of the .LOD, and rename it "Essex_Korea_Col.LOD" (Without the "). This is crucial, as the game will use the collision LOD for ship deck positioning.
7. Alternate mods.
Go to the extracted contents of the third .7z file (StrikeFighters2_Korea_3_of_3.7z).
a. The folder "F-86 Alternate Cockpit" contains modded F-100 cockpits for use on the F-86 series. If decided to use these cockpits, use the contents in the folder "With EXP2" if SF2 Expansion Pack 2 is installed; if not, use the contents in the "NO EXP2" folder.
b. The folder "F-86 Alternate Skins" contains SF1 F-86 skins adapted to SF2.
And that’s it, the setup is complete.

SF2:I REAF/EAF Spitfire Mk.V Trop Pak by Cocas Aircraft Factory
By Wrench
SF2:I REAF/EAF Spitfire Mk.V Trop Pak by Cocas Aircraft Factory & Co (ver 0.9) 1/06/2014
-- Something for the Mid-East --
= For SF2:I, and/or Full-5 Merged +Expansion Paks (Reccomended/Preferred) =
*Note: having whichever expansion pak gave us the Spit Mk. IX is required, as this mod references the stock 3W destroyed Spitfire, and early EAF roundels. It is designed to be =ONLY= used in the SF2:I environment. Anything else is 'at your own risk'. (although it WILL work in a FUll-5 merged +2 Expansion Paks) *
This is tagged as Ver 0.9, as we're sure some minor fixes may be required. We wanted to get it out into the hands of End Users , both for your flying pleasure, and further examinations.
As stated, above this aircraft package is for use ONLY in the SF2I environment, and only between the years of 47-49 (although tagged with a 44 start date). This is required, as the national marking reference ALL stock 3W decals.
All markings are decals, and Decal Randomization is set to TRUE. You have 26 historical serial numbers, in Arabic characters.
Skin included with the package is:
EAF: No. 2 Squadron (post-45, just EAF; previous user, REAF)
Finished in the Standard Desert Day Scheme, as delivered from RAF stocks during WW2.
The canopy operates via the Standard Animation Keystroke , Shift/0. Guns are also grouped, MGs in Group 1, the cannon in Group 2. No weapons or guns are included -you SHOULD already have these-, but the pilot figure and drop tank are.
When in game, you'll see:
Spitfire Mk.Vb Trop EAF (CAF)
on the aircraft selection dropdown menu. This will diferentiate THIS Spitfire from any other EAF Mk.Vs you may (or may not) have.
As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them.
Good Hunting!

The Continuation War Pt. A
By ShrikeHawk
Admin: This is complete install without any Campaigns. I didn't know where else to put it.
The Continuation War was fought between 25 June 1941 and 19 September 1944 between Finland and the USSR. This was a true David and Goliath battle. Finland cobbled together a small airforce from the obsolete aircraft of other countries and faced a colossal Soviet Sir Force. Finland should have been overrun within weeks, but that's not how it worked out... This is a tribute to the tenacity of the Finnish armed forces.
This is a complete install of the Continuation War. It is built for the benefit of those "without access" to the more diverse ww2 resources of the Development A-Team (DAT), though anyone is welcome to use this Continuation War install. In no way is this intended as a competing product for the A-Team's Winter War. Rather, it is an alternative for those unable to access DAT. This is an informal install. It is not offered as a final product, merely as something to get you flying in the region until further resources are available at CA. If some brave soul will make a Karelian Isthmus terrain, I'd be eternally grateful.
In this install you get:
- New skins
- Skins "adapted" for use over the battlefield.
- New Flight Models (FMs) with Aggressive AI.
- Sounds from AvHistory and others.
- New Menu screens and sounds.
Finnish Aircraft Include:
- Hawker Hurricane Mk I
- Curtiss Hawk 75A-8
- Morane Saulnier Ms.406
- VL Myrsky II
- Messerschmidt Bf-109G-2
- Messerschmidt Bf-109G-6
- Junkers Ju-88A-4
- Dornier Do-17Z
Soviet Aircraft Include:
- Hawker Hurricane Mk IIa
- Polikarpov I-16 Type 10
- Polikarpov I-16 Type 24
- Bell P-39N Airacobra
- Curtiss Kittyhawk Mk III
- Tupolev Tu-2
- North American B-25C
- Yakolev Yak-1B
- Yakolev Yak-9T
- Yakolev Yak-9D

Thanks to Wrench in general. He had a hand in a lot of this stuff. He keeps the props flames burning, and answers a LOT of questions. Much appreciated Wrench.
* This compiles so many different projects over so many years and so many missing readme's, that there are many more people deserving credit than are listed. If you've been missed, I apologize profusely. Please let me know and I'll put your name in.
A few comprises were made to get this going. The Swedish terrain (produced by JonathanRL's TSF team) is modern Sweden. However it has an old world feel to it that plays well in a ww2 install. Pasko's Yak-9P stands in for the Yak-1B, Yak-9T, Yak-9D, and Yak-9U. There are minor differences between the versions so visually, the Yak-9P is an excellent stand-in. There is one "What If" included. The Fiat G.55 did not fly for Finland. In reality, Germany was very impressed with the G.55 and collected up to 42 examples for study. What happened to them after that? Well, they might easily have been donated to Finland like so many other aircraft.
INSTALLATION:
- Download all three parts
- Create a new Theater-Specific install. Best choice is SF2:Europe.
Create it with this name exactly: StrikeFighters2 ContinuationWar
Good instructions on this are available here:
http://combatace.com/topic/74835-creating-the-eratheatre-specific-ww2-install/
- Go to your new Mods Folder main directory.
- From download Copy & paste the folders: Flight, Menu, Sounds, Terrains.
- Go to mod folder's Objects Folder. Empty the Aircraft Folder, and the GroundObjects Folder.
- From your download, copy & paste the aircraft in the Aircraft folder into your mod folder's Aircraft folder. Do the same with GroundObjects.
- From your download, copy & paste the folders: Decals, Guns, Pilots, Weapons into your mod folder's Object folder.

[Fictional] English Electric Lightning F.3S Flygvapnet
By Spinners
English Electric Lightning F.3S for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire Lightning F.3 to create a fictional export version in service with the equally fictional 'Acro Blixt' aerobatic display team (based on the real world Acro Deltas) of the Swedish Flygvapnet. This little update simply introduces a regular squadron (F13) and adds a screenshot.
It goes without saying that you must have the stock Third Wire Lightning F.3 in your install meaning that you must have Expansion Pack 2 for Strike Fighters 2 Europe.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the LightningF3S folder into your Aircraft folder.
2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the LightningF3S folder into your main Decals folder.
3. From the PILOTS folder drag and drop the PILOT_ACRO folder into you main Pilots folder.
4. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the Rb22 & Rb25 folders into your main Weapons folder.
CREDITS
Thanks to TK and Third Wire for the continuous improvement of a great little game/sim.
And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.
Regards
Spinners

Bombing Range Revamp/Update for SF2
By Wrench
Bombing Range Revamp/Update for SF2 5/6/2016
= For SF2, any and all (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended)
This is a revamp/retile of Deuces original "The Range" terrain. Like the original, it's a terrain set up so one may practice Ground Attack and Strike mission against various types of ground targets. Also, finally, there has been the addition of a large "water feature", so now you can practice Anti-shipping missions as well! This will allow you to become familiar with the various types weapons, and their usages.
** REMINDER: there is NO Air-to-Air possible on this terrain. It is designed for attacking ground targets ONLY!! Also, like the companion "Red Range", this terrain is ONLY for Blue Force usage. Trying to fly any Red Force (Soviet, WarPac, etc) aircraft WILL result in lockups, CTDs and other unpleasentness. **
I'm calling this "ver. 4" even though I'm unsure exactly what it should be called! The terrain has been completly retiled in "IME" style tiles. Where necessary (and wanted), a few new TODs has been made with better looking trees. For the most part, however, it's an empty terrain. Home Base is now a Runway 4 allowing for bombers to be used, and has been completly redressed by 331KillerBee with objects from his recently released airfield upgrade kits. Also many other objects from the other various airfield dress-up packs by various other good people have been scattered around, making for a LOT of eye candy.
This is also the first terrain to be (re)released using sets of sub-folders for the various terrain objects. Because of the amount of objects to be loaded, you may experience longer loading times at mission start ups.
Also included is a modified "Single Mission ini" that has had the minimum target values lowered, so the game engine can assign Strike missions against a wide variety of "lesser value" items. This file can be used in ANY mods folder, and will work for all types single missions the game generates.
As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them .... Give the "notes" a browse, too! For those unfamiliar with the "cat pointer" lines, there are instructions on it's proper useage.

Red Range Revamp/Update for SF2 4/28/2016
= For SF2, any and all (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended)
This is a revamp/retile of Deuces original "Red Range" terrain. Like the original, it's a terrain set up so one may practice Ground Attack and Strike mission against various types of ground targets. Also, finally, there has been the addition of a large "water feature", so now you can practice Anti-shipping missions as well! This will allow you to become familiar with the various "Red" weapons, and their usages. REMINDER: there is NO Air-to-Air possible on this terrain. It is designed for attacking ground targets ONLY!!

Geezer Sea Gladiator for SF-2, MTO and ETO
By baffmeister
Here is a great looking Sea Gladiator built by Geezer and set up for StrikeFighters2. The default installation is for MTO but also included are a few additional files that can be added for ETO use.
The installation is quite straight forward but make sure you READ the included README to understand the sound file installation. It's a small but additional hoop to jump through.

SF2 DH Osprey B.1 Pack (What If...) 4/15/2016
= For SF2 (Full-4/5 Merged Reccomended) =
*Note: you =MUST= have, as stated above have, at minimum, a Full-4 merged install, as this mod makes use of many items, most importantly, a (heavily) modified version of the stock F-4B cockpit. Therefore, it's vitally important that your game version has access to this cockpit.*
The is the release of a new "What If..." bomber by Cocas, the DH Osprey B.1 for RAF usage. This is 4 jet engined medium bomber for use in the strike, interdiction and recon roles.
The aircraft comes with 2 skins:

UPDATED NATIONS LIST
This is an updated NATIONS list.
I included as much nations and services as I could.
I disactivated the active dates, so no more planes with <none> air force as it was happening when the service dates are before the active date.
I modified also the 'PilotTrainingStandard' for some nations.
Examples:
Now the SOVIET is 'excellent' as it should have been in the first place.
AFRES, ANG and USArmy are 'normal', not 'excellent'.
This is a tough decision to make, because the pilot training standard improved or deteriorated during the course of time.
So people should adjust it according to the expansion pack/campaign that they are using.
Examples:
Russia should be POOR in the 1990s, NORMAL in the 2000s and EXCELLENT in the 2010s.
Iran should be POOR until around 2000, afterwards NORMAL.
Iraq should be NORMAL until 1992, afterwards POOR.
Also, I forgot to mention, all speech files have been adjusted for the speech pack, sometimes not exactly accurate e.g.
Switzerland uses German and Bulgaria Russian, but surely more appropriate than USAF speech!
Enjoy.
v1.1 changes
- Mercenary Alignment modified to MERCENARY and Pilot Training Standard modified from EXCELLENT to NORMAL.
- South Korea Pilot Training Standard modified from POOR to NORMAL.
However, if you intend to fly a Korean War period campaign for 1950 ONLY, modify it back to POOR.
- Duplicate entry of United States Army Aviation deleted.
- Iceland is added as a nation, useful for SF2NA campaigns.
- Russian Navy name changed to its Russian one.
v1.1a changes
- The Iraqi 'PilotTrainingStandard' changed from 'normal' to 'poor'.
- Turkish speech is back to USAF speech by request of Emre.
v1.2 changes
- Added the Vietnam People's Air Force of wazalo68
- Added the United States Coast Guard of Sheriff001

SF2 KAW Tu-2 "Bat" by Cocas
By Do335
The Tupolev Tu-2 was a medium bomber used by Soviet Air Force in WW2. Surplus Tu-2s were delivered to Chinese PLAAF post-war and organized into 3 bomber air divisions. During the Korean War, the 8th and 10th division conducted 3 air raids on Nov. 6th, 29th and 30th, 1951, against UN troops on Taehwa-do island, located about 70km southeast of the mouth of Yalu River. The first raid was most successful achieving acclaimed 90% hit rate. The third raid was intercepted by 4th FIW Sabres with heavy losses. Daylight sorties with prop driven bombers were thus phased out by both sides in the jet age.
****
Mod contains: aircraft Lod, cockpit, Data, NKPAF and PLAAF skins, damage textures, loadout icon, Decals, Pilots, engine sound.

Install requirement: None. Works on any SF2 install.

Colourful Korea - A skin and decals pack for Wings over Korea
By Gunrunner
COLOURFUL KOREA
Some assembly required.
---------------------------------------
WTF is this ?
---------------------------------------
This is a mod of a mod, it's intended to be used as a "patch" for Do335 Wings over Korea mod, itself a mod of the semi-avorted Korean Air War mod.
Its intent is to add more units, more skins and, above all, more named planes to the Korean War.
It's meant to be a patch, to keep the footprint low, making it useless by itself.
It's also a backport from my own Korean War install meaning that some things might not be as originally intended (for instance, in my own install the SAAF 2nd Squadron uses slatted wings F-86F-10's, which is - mostly - historically correct, however a standard WoK install gives hard-wing F-86F-30 - of which they only ever had 1 - to 2nd Squadron).
My focus on these releases is maintaining compatibility with the WoK campaign at the cost of "authenticity" (which would require something much more grandiose with at least 3 campaigns, which is a work in progress but not aimed for release - too much unclearable content being used).
---------------------------------------
Why such a miscellaneous and crippled package ?
---------------------------------------
Because I'm slightly burning out on the Korean War, that Real Life is coming back and that rather than having "finished" work rot away on a hard drive, I'd rather release what can be so others can enjoy or build upon it.
Also because I'm too lazy to walk the minefield of varying licences involved in packaging someone else's content.
And yes, someday I'll finish the Thunderflashes, if Paulo doesn't beat me to it.
---------------------------------------
What are the pre-requisites ?
---------------------------------------
- Some knowledge of Strike Fighters 2 mod installation procedures.
- A properly installed Wings over Korea 1.0 by Do335 installation ( http://combatace.com/files/file/13415-sf2-korea-terrain-v3/ , http://combatace.com/files/file/15221-wings-over-korea-1-of-2/ , http://combatace.com/files/file/15220-wings-over-korea-2-of-2/ ).
---------------------------------------
What are the pre-requisites for the optionnal Razbam Banshee skins ?
---------------------------------------
- A properly installed Razbam F2H-2 Banshee ( http://www.razbamsims.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=1_4&products_id=45 ).
- Wrench's Korean Air War Tweak Pak for Razbam's Banshees ( http://combatace.com/files/file/14889-sf2-kaw-f2h-2-banshee-tweeks-pak-for-razbam-banshees/ ).
- Do335 optional files for Razbam's Banshee (overwrite Wrench's tweaks).
---------------------------------------
What is included ?
---------------------------------------
- 4 new skins for Razbam's F2H-2 Banshee covering VF-172, VF-11, VF-22 and VF-62 for the Korean War (VF-22 used in campaign).
- 2 reworked skins for South African 2nd Squadron F-86F Sabre, including 29 historical named planes (almost all of them) (one skin used in campaign).
- 5 additionnal named Australian Meteor F.8, plus one modified decal for an existing one (used in campaign).
- 1 partially modified skin for RF-51D Mustang (adding polka dots to the propeller nosecone), including an historical named plane (used in campaign).
- 1 template for Razbam's F2H-2 Banshee.
---------------------------------------
What is not included ?
---------------------------------------
- Anything already present in the pre-requisites.
- Razbam's skin parts that I haven't redone.
---------------------------------------
What's the required assembly ?
---------------------------------------
- South African F-86F : None, overwrite when asked
- Australian Meteor F.8 : None, overwrite when asked
- USAF RF-51D Mustang : None, overwrite when asked
- USN F2H-2 Banshee : Copy the following files (some may not be needed but in doubt do it) from an existing skin into the VF-11 and VF-62 skin folders (VF172 and VF-22 are ok)

---------------------------------------
Probable questions
---------------------------------------
- Hey, why are you using an inefficient ZIP format when RAR5 and 7Z offer much better compression rates ?
Because RAR5 breaks backward compatibility while using the same extension, leading to many confused people believing their download to be corrupted, leading to re-downloads, increased bandwidth consumption for CombatAce and overall a greater cost than a slightly larger archive and more headache for the player.
Because 7Z requires to install a dedicated software while Windows does manage ZIP files natively, making it much easier for players.
- Hey, why are your skin in a funky PDN format instead of a standard Photoshop PSD file ?
Because, even with Creative Cloud, Photoshop can be too much money for some modders and I don't condone piracy.
Because Paint.NET ( http://www.getpaint.net/ ), the software using PDN files, covers 95% of skinner needs, especially when using the PSD plugin ( https://psdplugin.codeplex.com/ ) to open PSD files (DO NOT use RLE compression when saving in PSD format though) and the Alpha Mask plugin ( http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/1854-alpha-mask-import-plugin-20/ ).
Because Photoshop makes me jump through more hoops than Paint.NET to obtain some layer interactions.
- Hey, there shouldn't be rivets here / Hey, that colour is slightly off / Hey, 202 actually didn't have his code painted on the wing / Hey, the decal seems to be bleeding etc...
Yes, I'm probably already aware of all that, some of it can't be changed by anyone so you'll have to live with it, some of it is ignored to keep things simple and tidy, and finally many are ignored because I've reached the point where, at the moment, I'm not willing or able to do better.
Feel free to add your own corrections and changes and either submit them to me for another release (you'd be credited of course), or release your own mod of a mod of a mod.
- How do I contact you ?
Well, PM me on CombatAce, when Real Life is involved it might be some month before I answer though, or you can mail me, but unless it's important, it's highly probable I'll just ignore it, sorry.

- CombatAce, for being such a nice place full of nice, if at time weird, people doing their best to keep TK's little engine fun to play with.
- The Korean Air War team, without whom none of this would exist in the first place, even though their grand scheme never happened, their years of work didn't go to waste.
- Wrench, The, whose Banshee Tweak Pak gave me the weird idea that some people actually cared about a payware of an obscure, little used plane.

[Fictional] F-104I 'Kohav' (Star) for SF2:Europe
By Spinners
F-104I for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a simple mod of the Third Wire Lockheed Starfighter F-104G to give a fictional F-104I 'Kohav' (Star) of the Israeli Air Force with markings for No.119 squadron - "The Bat Squadron". As this download relies on the stock Third Wire F-104G LODs then you must have SF2:Europe where TK has thoughfully left them for us.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-104I folder into your Aircraft folder.
2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-104I folder into your main Decals folder.
SKINS/MARKINGS
I wanted to capture the look of the early Mirage IIIC's in Israeli service and saw a photograph of a No.119 squadron machine with red/white rudder stripes and a red fin marking and decided to copy that. As there are no hi-res squadron patch images for No.119 squadron I designed by own, I hope you like it!
CREDITS
Special thanks to guyran for suggesting the Hebrew name of 'Kohav'.
And special thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.

The original flight model is standard as on many free to download helicopters.
I have just modified it a bit.
It is designed for and works only in SF2 series.

WARNING!
This is totaly new file. I highly recomend to backup your old files. OR just delete all old files. Even weapon folders. It is updated here.
This is totaly new files and will not work in many parts with old.
Also new cockpits included for both 69 and 80 versions.
This addon works only with included WeaponPACK. All of weapon stations are made as specific station code and will work only with this weapon pack.
Standard commands for activating Cobra features:
AIRBRAKES - jump from pilot station to gunner station.
ARRESTING HOOK - deploy arresting hook to land on aircraft carrier.
LANDING GEAR - belly light deploy/retract at any speed. Don't forget to fold before shooting.
A2A mode - gunner station guncross for turret.
A2Ground mode - pilot M60 gunsight cross.
ANIMATION 7 - turret doors
ANIMATION 8 - ammo bay dooors
ANIMATION 9 - gunner door (ext and cockpit view)
ANIMATION 10 - pilot door (ext and cockpit view)
For take off: Around 75% of throttle vector (small needle on RPM clock in cockpit should be like 65degree up) - (default ctrl + ) and then increase power to 70-85% (or more for quick lift) and pull controll stick little and snake will take off. Then reduce throttle vector as needed and reduce power to 69%. It should fly around 110kts now. 69% is about cruising speed.
When on the ground you can see rotating blades for pitch and roll. Just additional and unnecesary thing (not visible so much when flying) but it is possible so it is there. Not working like i want but better then nothing.
There are two different pylons on inboard stations one for rocketpods one for gunpods. Just to have a proper angle of fire with GP. It is not proper for real model but in my opinion best what can be done for SF engine. Rocket pods are ok with correct angle on inboard stations.
To take off from ship.
Increase throttle realase brake.
Or.
Incrase throttle around 75% of throttle vector controll and then realase brake.
Landing on ship.
Aproach. Reduce speed using throttle vector controll. Realase hook. Slowly aproach matching speed with vessel and reducing altitude to deck height. Hit deck. Needs practice but it is easy.
Catapult on deck are set 10cm higher than regular deck level. So aircraft is 'hovering' 10cm above deck. It must be this way since these vesseles are not supportin aircraft carrier operations. It is just fooling game engine.
All serial numbers are historicaly correct and based on available documents.
I divided models into three sub packs. Weapons, guns, sounds are common to every part.
Models 69 and 80 in diferent packs are still same model it is made this way for specific game mod.
Vietnam pack 69 model.
HML-367 'Scareface' Marble Mountain 1971
HMA-369 'Marhukers' Operation MARHUK USS Cleveland, USS Denver
Desert Storm pack 80 model
HMA-773 'Sea Cobras' USS New Orleans 1991
HMA-775 'Coyotes' Camp Smith, Saudi Arabia 1991
Wings Over Europe/North Atlantic/Mediterranean Sea and anywhere.
69 model:
HMM-263© Det.HMA-269 USS Guadalcanal 1975
HMM-162© Det.HMA-269 USS Guadalcanal 1976 (I am not sure if BuNos and modex are 100% correct here)
HMH-362© Det.HMA-269 USS Guadalcanal 1976
HMM-262© Det.HMA-169 USS Tarawa 1979 (I am not sure if BuNos and modex are 100% correct here)
80 model"
semi fictional skins (serial numbers are correct for J mode but not sure all of them apeard in HMA -169
HMA-169 'World Famous Vipers' Two skins early green and mid-late 80s tri color version.
This unit used AH-1J until 1986. This skin is based on photos but serial numbers are not 100% correct. Those are real SeaCObra numbers but fictional for this unit. However numbers started with 159 were present in this unit.
Optional files:
Two navy ships LHA and LPD class. Converted to USMC service. So in single mission, player flight will start from ship. (Water map needed)
Both with landing deck.
Experimental lights on deck of LPD class ship. Credits to Fubar for his carrier lights pack.
Weapons included.
One more thing. I am using mostly standard weapon effects.
Make sure to edit it your way if you decide to use this weapons.
During late 70 Marines tested scoop exhaust like US Army on G model. There are just a few photos with this mod.
Here in game it will apear for a while in 1976-1978. It doesn't do anything. Since there is no IR suppresion in game. It is just for look and fun factor.
In 80's model there is ALQ-144 IR Jammer. Since ther is no IR Jamming in game it is just very weak jammer. you can turn it on but don't count on jamming.
Pilots:
I am using usnpilots by OldDiego. Not included.
SOme pilots models might be too big for this helo.
Instalation:
Copy all files into specific folders.
Sounds:
For M197gatling sound copy the lines from SOUNDLIST ADDON to your soundlist ini file.
Squadrons:
Add specific entrys form Squadronlist addon to your squadron list.
Enjoy.
Edit your way.
Report bugs.

SF2 Vought TF-8 Crusader Pack 4/8/2016
= For SF2 (Full-4/5 Merged Reccomended) =
*Note: you =MUST= have, as stated above have, at minimum, a Full-4 merged install, as this mod makes use of many items, from several versions of the games. A Full 5 with NA is reccomended. There are many "bits" required, most notably the cockpit referenced is from the A-7E Corsair II.*
This package contains a (somwhat) fictional outgrowth of the Vought F-8 Crusader. In the Real World , only ONE TF-8 Crusader was built (it's on display in the Naval Aviation Museum at Pensocla, FL). This assumes that Vought and the Navy chose to expand the production/refurbishment of early model Crusaders into the 2 seat variant seen here. The aircraft has expanded capabilites in both Air-to-Air and Air-to-Ground mission tasking (see Notes for more details on the factory modifications, and squadron decals used.)
This package contains the following skin sets:
USN, early (Gull Grey/White
USMC, early (Gull Grey/White
USN, Late (TPS low visibility grey)
French Navy, early (Gull Grey/White)
French Navy, late (Overall Blue) - both tagged for Flotille 12
The SF2 "date switch" is used for the USN and French Skins. The USMC skin stays in Grey/white for it's service life. All skins are in jpg format. Damage textures are in DDS format.
All markings are decals, and with few exceptions, reference stock 3W Modex and Squadron tail markings. Decal randomization for all skins is TRUE. All weapons used are also stock items (note: the WalleyeIIIER -may- be an SF2NA only weapon; this has not been confirmed)
As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Indeed, one would be well served by reading all the Notes section as well.
Happy Landings!

MARTINSYDE G102 (D)

MARTINSYDE G102 (D)
History
Whilst the Great War was raging in Europe, the Balkans, and Mesopotamia, Countries not involved in the conflict, started breaking away from the powers that had previously held dominion over their countries, One of these countries was part of the joint occupation by Britain and France since the days of Napoleon, the area of Sharnak in the Middle East. in 1917 , whilst the French and British were other wise occupied, the populace rose up, and wrested power from the foreign administration, in a bloodless coup, as the French and British were heavily occupied with more pressing concerns, this was mostly ignored.
A government was duly and hastily formed, drawing members from the 2 main tribes of Sharnak. unfortunately, these 2 tribes of mainly nomadic people, were usually more interested in murdering each other, than actually getting along and running the new Nation state, in late 1918, a skirmish brewed up, over the rights to a sand dune mine in central Sharnak ( Sand being the main industry of the country, and as the war was going on sand for sandbags was in great demand, and Sharnak sand was the best sand bag sand in the world) The unrest turned into full scale and very bloody civil war, with the East of the country seceding and claiming sovereignty for the Eastern half of the country. The new country, named themselves Paran, and was ruled by a single and powerful clan of fierce Bedouin. the west of the country then named themselves Dhimar, and was a kingdom as the Shah was in that side and was loved by his people. and a kingdom was kept as the political rulers of the country.
The civil war continued sparodically for 18 months, during which time, both sides had managed to procure aircraft form various sources, There was a core of seasoned pilots, who had learned to fly whilst flying for the British, French, Russians and the Turks..
The Dhimari Army was in dire need of a ground attack and reconnaissance aircraft, much mooting, pondering, and attempts to buy either DH9's or Bristol Fighters from the British, were met with derision, from the British Air Ministry ( also probable annoyance over the coup ! ) So as these excellent aircraft were not available for purchase, they acquired the next best thing........or not, they managed to procure some clapped out Martinsydes which were war weary and rather tatty ( to say the very least ) however, with much time and sterling effort, they restored and refurbished the aircraft to a flying, and operational standard. the Aircraft though outdated, and very slow, dis have some very big teeth, it could carry a very healthy bomb load, was fitted with cameras, and was well armed (One fixed Lewis, and one on a mount behind the cockpit ) although the pilots found the workload to be rather high, as the aircraft was so slow and ponderous, operating 2 different gun groups, the bombs and the cameras all together required the dexterity of a 4 armed sword juggler. However, the aeroplane performed its duties with great fortitude, was reliable, and tough. one of the first true multi role aircraft on the battlefield !
INSTALLATION
all files are included in the download, decals, guns weapons are all there, also the updated Nations.ini, and SquadronList.ini to allow the aircraft to show up, this aircraft has been converted from First Eagles , so the guns are new, and will not be in any SF2 weapons packs , so make sure you do install these guns, or else you wont be able to shoot anything !! I have also included a sound file for the Lewis gun as that needs to be installed to give the guns the correct sounds, all other sounds are also included for engines etc. I strongly advise you update your soundlist.ini with new entries ( if you are unsure how to do this, take a quick look at the forums, and there are detailed instructions for this there ) Other than that, just treat this aircraft as you would any other upload to SF2 .
The aircraft has a very nice bomb load ,but be aware, your wingman and or flight mates may use these at very random intervals, if they use them at all !! BE WARNED !! . The AI does seem to sometimes have a wobbler, and do its own thing, just ignore it, and get on with flying, and rack up some kills. I recommend letting the AI fly this aircraft as you will find your wingman bobbing about all over the sky quite annoying, also the thing is no fighter !! so prepare to be killed....lots.....and repeatedly.....over and over.......many many times.......no, really, trust me !! hahahaha
