4 pointsGloster Javelin Mk.56 'Dhanush' - No.36 Squadron, Indian Air Force, 1965 The expansion of the Indian Air Force during the mid-1950's saw the planned procurement of the Hawker Hunter fighter-bomber and the English Electric Canberra bomber in substantial quantities but Indian Air Force planners saw the lack of an all-weather interceptor as a problem and urged the Indian Government for increased funds for a suitable aircraft. Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru initially blocked the idea but soon agreed to allow a delegation from the Gloster Aviation Company to make a presentation to the Indian Government and the Chiefs of the Indian Air Force. With the end of the Javelin production line looming Gloster were proposing two new export version of the Javelin Mk8 to India - the F.Mk55 (Sapphire-enginned) and F.Mk56 (Avon-enginned) versions. Indian Air Force chiefs were very enthusiastic about the possibility of having its three main combat aircraft use the same jet engine (albeit the Javelin's Mk.205 Avon engines had a simple afterburner fitted) and urged Nehru to proceed with the purchase of 80 aircaft but Nehru demanded to meet the Gloster delegation himself to thrash out terms. Gloster cannily sent Graeme Kimmage, who had attended Cambridge University with Nehru, to conduct the negotiations and eventually secure a deal for 80 Javelin F.Mk56's. Entering service with No.36 'Trishula' squadron based at Pathankot in 1958 the Javelins only really became a complete weapon system when mated with the indigenous 'Baan' (Arrow) air-to-air missile which entered service in 1960. From this time the Javelins quickly earned the most appropriate nickname of 'Dhanush' (bow) and saw limited service over Goa (in the recconnaisance role) but played a major role in the 1965 war with Pakistan claiming several kills including three F-86's, one F-104 and six B-57's. However, with the MiG-21 entering service the Javelin's days were numbered and the Javelin force slowly faded away and by 1975 the popular and legendary 'Dhanush' had gone for good. 3 pointsWell, I'm afraid you are not wrong. He already stated, that the update will only include W10-compatibility and nothing more, as his financial goals were not met. So in the end TK can even blame his (already) 2nd class customers for that, as we all haven't thrown more money into the black hole "TW". At the time I spent the money I was not really convinced of him creating something substantial new and updated, but...well...even then I gave the money with a tiny bit of hope. I would be surprised, if all the money he got is really invested into SF2 alone... I hope I am wrong too. In my opinion TW/TK doesn't deserve any more cent at all from any customer.
-
3 pointsI am not expecting anything. Just new logo win10 in the right bottom corner. For years TW was ignorant about SF2 community, and now it is even arrogant to deny any SF2 community. If only someone cared little and visited community forums - one would know what needs to be improved. We would have improvements dreamed for years a long time ago. But...it is better to re-heat burger from last week and still try to sell it. Instead, we will have a patch that allows you to run on w10 even if without it still runs ok. Patch surrounded by big OH!! and WOW, AHH!! and hopes, nothing more. I hope I am wrong.

2 pointsI"m going to venture a guess that 3rd party mods will probably just drop in. Anything from 3W (DLCs, expansion packs) will most likely have to be party re-written for Winge10. Just my wandering thoughts ...

2 pointsThank you for your reply I was thinking of adding Arabic speech as the only one is available is Indian or Irani and definitely not Arabic. And I was thinking like you to have more than one guy talking. For me to start this long process I need the speech script first.
-
2 pointsWoohoo! Thats new...I had checked that right before commenting in the last post. A little communication is a good thing...

1 pointHello All, I currently have the first WOV. My problem is, I can't get the fighters up to prototypical speeds. Just the other day, I was returning to base with the F-8E carrying 1 sidewinder. I took her up to FL370 and tried to go supersonic. I was able to go supersonic but nowhere near the prototypical performance as we've read in all of the accounts from the pilots. Acceleration was abysmal! I'm talking like 1 kt/sec in full AB from 345 KIAS with 4000 pounds of fuel in Hard Flight Model mode. I have the same speed issue with the Phantoms too. From all of the accounts I've read, the Phantom had an abundance of power and was able to separate from the enemy with ease in full AB. I have had problems with the F-4J not going supersonic in a dive, even without drop tanks. I can go supersonic but, nowhere near Mach 2. It's more like Mach 1.2 max and that's after over a minute in full AB. The F-100? Forget it! I haven't even seen the Mach numbers show up in the indicator, EVER. Now, I've messed with the DATA ini files before and could get the prototypical top speeds but, then I would get super-cruise. I once had a version of the Tomcat which I tinkered with to get the correct performance but, I'd rather not mess with anything. Has anyone else had this problem? The reason why I ask is, I'm thinking of purchasing SF2 Vietnam and the others and I don't want to spend a couple of hundred bucks if I'm going to have the same issues. I chatted with someone that had a Youtube video of SF2 flying the Phantom and I told of my difficulties getting up to speed in the Crusader. He said that it didn't seem right. Any help would be appreciated. Ps: I have downloaded DCS and it doesn't work for me. I'm not going to go through all of that and have to buy a new video card with 3 GB when I have a 1 GB card that runs WOV smooth as silk. I just want to fly the dang plane. I got really deep into Falcon 3.0 back in the day and at almost 53 years old, I don't have that patience anymore. By the time I get done with all of the startup procedures, I'd have to go pee twice. HELP! Thank You!

1 pointThis uses Veltro2K's E-767 with acesfakia's MESA radar added. All credit to those guys. I'll be adding Turkish, RAF and RoK skins shortly, unless someone beats me to it 😉😎

1 pointA tip: I didn't like the SF2 speech at all. It seems that is just one guy talking for all wingmen. I copied from SF1 speech folder over it and now, for me at least, the radio chatter is satisfying.

1 pointIf he signed the combatace convention (I don't know the official name of it but there is one here around on this website) technically one doesn't need approval, just it needs to mention the CREDIT to the author for it. At least that's what Wrench once told me when I asked the same question.
-
1 pointWhomever needs to okay this, for the love of all that is holy, please give it! This is a thing of beauty!
-
1 pointSpeaking of communication make sure to get a clear answer to: a) Can we just port over all the expansion packs and more importantly all our mods to this new version? b) If not, then what? How? Thanks.
-
1 pointNo as for an aircraft with no real world RCS reduction measures the game engine generated .lod 'hit box' size based RCS is correct.
-
1 pointJust a little update since I've been so busy with RW stuff. 1) I added some @viper63a music to the game plus a special song. Not just to genuinely add more immersion... but to also get as much stock SF2 stuff out. 2) I think after the below, it might be possible to add an AWACS mission at a later date - maybe as an additional "What If":

1 pointla realidad es otra, el pack-fa Aleducat hace unas semanas me mostró algunas actualizaciones, yo no tengo el 3d. estar en cuarentena con una bebe de 9 meces, significa no tener ayuda externa, no tengo visitas para poder tener unos brazos extras, mi trabajo en la vida real es esencial así que salgo todos los días, así que se imaginaran que mi tiempo libre es el cuidado de mi niña y que sentarme frente a la pc se me hace difícil, salvo que sea por trabajo $$$$$$.

1 pointHi. I made it as a stand-in for an RAAF E-7A Wedgetail, using Veltro2K's E-767 with acesfakia's MESA radar added. If I get permission I might put it up. I've never uploaded anything before. ☺

1 pointThat wasn't his strong point in the last couple of years...I guess he didn't change over time.

1 pointEven if there is no real AWACS coordination into the game , you can try, for a change and atmosphere, to adapt my AWACS mod, from SF1, to SF2. (I will make a proper AWACS mod for SF2 , too, but is not in my to do list for now). Check them out here: In it you lead , in a recon mission, a group of 3 (or more) aicraft, but one of it is AWACS (the one you fly it), the rest are the escort. You set, for your plane (the AWACS), the easyradar and then you can lock on everything on the map, emulating exactly like an AWACS could. Being a recon miission you will have almost max of enemy flights on the map and , at some moment one flight will see/detect and accelerate (even fire at) to get you. You can give specific order to engage plane on your path (this time at "WINGMAN" commands TWO escort planes will react , instead of one , making things interesting. If your escort has more planes wingman command will affect the No2 and No3 planes, the rest will correspond to the flights you have with you in the mission. It's fun and challenging to come back in one piece or with the whole escort untouched. Remember you need to have SOVIET formation activated (it takes 3 planes in formation instead of 4) and to tweak a little the Formation.ini file (to make them fly steady and parallel with you for instance). If interested I stand ready to assist.

1 point5th June 2020 Dear Fighter Pilot, Partners and Friends, After close to 40 man-years of work, the new Channel Map for DCS is now available to download. The Terrains Development Team have delivered this beautiful multi-purpose map with a new level of object detail and geographic accuracy. From Dunkirk and the Battle of Britain until the end of the war, the thin stretch of water saw more aerial activity than anywhere else in Europe. This week, a long-awaited addition to our Warbird line up is taking to the air. The P-47D Thunderbolt was a very successful and well-loved fighter. This remarkably rugged and dependable aircraft offers superb gameplay over our World War II battlefields, especially as it was also a highly effective ground attack fighter. Please note, if you are a WWII Backer of a suitable level, you can receive DCS: P-47D Thunderbolt for free from the Personal section, you can also gift the module, if you would like to do so, please contact Support via a support ticket. Over the past year, we have been working on updating the characteristics of air-to-air weapon systems. Your demands and feedback help us to push the level of accuracy in this area of our simulation to a new level. Please take the time to read about our new physics model with the AIM-120 AMRAAM report. We have been working hard on highly requested F/A-18C Hornet features. Check out the development roadmap and watch Matt Wagner’s videos. We hope these videos will help kick start your knowledge and smooth the learning curve. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, The Eagle Dynamics Team The Channel Release A DCS World Terrain DCS: The Channel Map is now available in Early Access. Our map of the South East of England and North Eastern France encompasses historical airfields, urban areas, roads and railways, ports and other features that make it the perfect setting for the World War II air war in Europe between 1940 and 1945. This highly detailed map also provides a wonderful opportunity to mass deploy ground assets and to re-enact epic air battles and enjoy ground operations not yet seen in DCS World. Take advantage of Early Access 20% discount on The Channel Map. P-47D Thunderbolt Early Access Release This week we Introduce the heavyweight Republic P-47D Thunderbolt, which first took to the skies in May, 1941. Nicknamed the Jug, it was a real workhorse of the Allied victory, weighing nearly twice as much as the British Spitfire. Fully loaded, it could deliver about half the payload of a B-17 Flying Fortress. The P-47D was popular amongst pilots, with an astounding safety record, a roomy cockpit and an enhanced visibility bubble canopy. The Republic Aviation factories in New York, Indiana and Buffalo assembled 15,600 units between 1942 and 1945. The Pratt & Whitney R-2800-59 Double Wasp radial engine enabled the Juggernaut to keep up with the nimble and lightning-fast North American P-51D Mustang. Thunderbolts were sent to Britain, France and even the Soviet Union, where they largely served in interceptor roles. The new DCS: P-47 Thunderbolt is designed to work on the latest DCS World 2.5.6 and is not compatible with previous versions. It takes advantage of our latest graphics and texture technology, enabling you to push the limits of your system, whilst maintaining good frame rates. We hope you will enjoy this update to the World War II era product range and look forward to your constructive feedback, which helps us deliver better products. Make sure you take advantage of the Early Access 20% discount. AIM-120 AMRAAM Development Report As stated in previous news, we have spent a lot of time performing Computational Fluid Dynamics research. Almost 250 different calculations for every missile variant have been made. Our results have enabled us to simulate aerodynamic characteristics with a much higher level of accuracy. In contrast to the old missile dynamics model, the new one includes stability and control characteristics. We have calculated missile mechanical properties such as center of gravity and moment of inertia before ignition and after burnout. More major updates include; revised data for rocket motor performance, ballistics and range. Development of a velocity-altitude adaptive autopilot. Frequency response with the addition of deflection acceleration feedback. The construction of the electromechanical fin actuator assembly and Step response reaction control system. Autopilot and lofted trajectory for long-range shots. Please read the full air-to-air missile development report. F/A-18C Hornet SLAM, AG Radar We would like to thank everyone who participated in the F/A-18C Hornet roadmap poll. It has helped us plan the next list of deliverables for 2020. Read the full list of features here. This week we introduce the first iteration of the air-to-ground radar for the F/A-18C Hornet. This first version models MAP mode and allows you to search for and designate target locations. Later, we will be adding other modes like the EXPAND levels, Ground Moving Target, SEA, and Terrain. In the next update, we have both air-to-ground and air-to-air updates for the Hornet targeting pod. This includes more realistic AG tracking modes and FLIR tracking of aerial targets in cooperation with the radar. In this week's update, we explore the inclusion of the IN ZONE LAUNCH ACCEPTABLE REGION (IZLAR) for the JDAM. This provides additional delivery information and will be tied to the later inclusion of pre-planned IZLARs and multiple attack points. Watch the video here. We hope that these videos help you learn the new features of the F/A-18C and look forward to your feedback. Thank you for your passion and support and as always, fly safe. The Eagle Dynamics Team

1 point*** Special Cases ONLY means that I'm removing my permission for modification to any and all my terrain work. I'm tired of seeing hundreds of hours of research and build time get tossed around like a cheap soda can. Every one of my terrain works is heavily researched to nth degree, and are the best possible product, given the Engine Limitations. When one of my terrains is finished and released, you can bet your ass it's 98.6% True to Life IF such modifications/changes & whathaveyous are needed, they'll have to go through ME first, and have a pretty good, and powerfully convincing reason as just why they are needed. However, all my aircraft, skins, groundobjects, etc are STILL covered under the Freeware accords, and may be used as freely as they've ever been; just spell my name right in the credits.
