3 pointsIt is the easiest thing ever, yet you guys are talking about it as if it were black magic. The water bitmap is 8bit, and Photoshop is known for messing them up during saving. If you want to create a working water bitmap, you must use the exact colours from IcelandNA's water bitmap. Open and save the water bitmap in Microsoft's Paint, and that's it. Sweden does not have enough water space (red), so any water bitmap will not work good enough. The terrain is only 60% of RL, and the sea areas are too small for the in-game fleets which are used to wide open oceans. You might make a _water bitmap which spawns ships over water, but on such terrains you'll see them over land occasionally, it's guaranteed. Better not to feature something broken. If it worked with no issues, I would have included a working _water bitmap for that terrain package I released, don't you think? Besides, it is only used for game-generated single missions. For campaigns, you can have fleets regardless of a _water bitmap, because the campaign data must contain the fleet's coordinates on the terrain. I'm not going to explain any further than this. This matter was discussed to death countless times, and any being with a functioning brain will use the search bar of CombatACE to find any relevant threads containing the key-words water, bitmap, fleet, etc.

3 pointsYour tutorial about Remove light\ dark edges between meshes like gear doors etc was a godsend; I've finally got the shading right on the engine doors of the NF-5a!! Excellent find!!! Before .. ugly as F**** After the edit normals modifier "Now you see them .." Now you don't..
-
3 pointsYep its a good tool....ive started redoing stuff with it like hawk etc....always annoyed me the time taken to do a clean model and shitty shading from normals screws it...not now eh lol. also saves having to meshsmooth a local area around doors etc,to get a smooth transition between edges.

Recent talks about Akrotiri AB and the Escort jammed prompted me to design and fly this one, It will be a semi historical mission, created on the fly in the editor, I know the Hornet was not on the carriers back in 1983, but I really like the Saratoga, also I don't used the proper squadrons or skins, but it was historical enough for me, as I tried to use proper planes and weapons, and was damn fun, so wanted to share with you guys, enjoy! Launching The American fleet Our escort Jammers Lebanon coast on my radar Our escort turning to engage FOX 3! The enemies Their happy end Spamming Phoenixes And R-23, unfortunately for him, he had to dodge the Tomcat wingman Sparrow coming his way so the R23 lost guidance. Getting ready to bomb Bombing from several directions at same time, confused the AAA Target destroyed Syrian reacted too late and missile never was a real threat (apart from the Sa-3, got a launch from a nearby Sa-6 too that properly tracked my wingman, as the jammer already departed, but we got out of range) Back to the boat for some late breakfast or early lunch! Was a fun mission, SF2 can still provide fun in a historical way!

1 pointSo......what was happening back in 2011 I wonder? Well there were rumours of a new version of Falcon 4 which was later released by Benchmark Sims (BMS), and in February of that year DCS: A-10C Warthog was released. The Strike Fighters community was eagerly awaiting the release of Strike Fighters 2: North Atlantic - and it was also the year that Combat Ace member Sophocles bit the bullet and decided to get into 3D modelling. Now many years later, he has now released what certainly looks like the best modelled aircraft ever to grace Strike Fighters 2, and that includes all of Thirdwires efforts. Many modder projects start and look promising and then wither and die (especially after so many years) so we decided to ask Sophocles some questions about this project. The F-5A thread starts around 2012 - what year did you start the F-5 model exactly? I started the model in December of 2011. I'd never done any 3d modelling, but I was determined to learn, having done a lot of free-ware/payware texturing work for CFS2 and FS9. What 3D programs do you use to create 3D models? 3dsMax.. It is unusual for someone to stay on a single project after all this time - what has kept you going all these years to continue the project? Well, I spent about a year finishing the external model (learning all the basics as I went along, ie. modelling, mapping, animating) and then another year doing the cockpit.. I'd planned for a release in 2014 but by that time my world caved in together with the Greek economy..) lost my business, house, went through divorce and even lost the dog!! As you can imagine, the last thing on my mind was the F-5A model!!! I tried over the years at times to re-invest in the project, but real life just kept getting in the way... Many Combat Ace members were involved in the project, some actively helping along and contributing in one form or another (will thank and present their contributions in their entirety when the project is complete), others offering encouragement and emotional support (this is the best thing about the Combat Ace community!) but the one individual who for the most part inspired the level of detail in the model; and who subsequently worked the hardest getting the project moving again was Volker (ravenclaw).. without whom the project would not have been revived (post-2017). I really need to get the F-5A out to the community because their support (and patience, LOL!) has been incredible. After this do you think you will continue to do other 3D models on this level? Sure, with all the knowledge and experience I've accumulated over the years, any new projects (and there are a few..) will take a fraction of the time .. given the world doesn't implode...again!!!!! With special thanks to Sophocles you can download Hellenic Air Force F-5A Volume 1 here and looks like there will be more high quality volumes to follow:

Scooters! Vol.2 - Aggressors for TW A-4 and Fractures TA-4 Skyhawks ======================================================== *** DLC A-4G Skyhawk required. Tested in full 5-merged installation *** *** SF2 or SF2V for the A-4E cockpit and A-4F model *** This pack contains 14 Aggressor-Skins for the Scooter as used during it's career as plane for DACT - Dissimilar Air Combat Training. These planes were used to simulate enemy aircraft vs. regular Squadrons. Although a certain camouflage was applied often to 1 plane only, I decided to do 8 planes per skin for playability reasons. To difference the real planes and the "filler" I added the BuNos for the real planes in the loadout menu. The ones without BuNo are fictional. This pack contains skins depicting the following planes/squadrons: A-4E/F Mongoose without Hump - A-4E/F of VF-43 Challengers, 1992 in a light gray/gray wraparound camo. - A-4E/F of VF-126 Bandits, 1992 in white/gray/blue with light blue bottom - A-4E/F of VF-126 Bandits, 1991 in tan with brown stripes and gray bottom. - A-4E/F of VF-126 Bandits, 1991 in tan/brown/green with gray bottom. - A-4E/F of VFC-12 Fighting Omars, 1993 in an overall glossy engine gray camo. A-4E/F Skyhawk with Hump - A-4E of VF-45 Blackbirds, 1987 in brown with green tiger stripes ("Brown Tiger") - A-4E of VF-101 Grim Reapers, 1972 in 2 shades of bluegray with light blue bottom. TA-4J Skyhawk - TA-4F/J of VFC-12 Fighting Omars, 1989 in an overall glossy engine gray camo. - TA-4F/J of VA-127 Cylons, 1986 in a tan/green wraparound camo. - TA-4F/J of VA-127 Cylons, 1983 in a light gray/dark gray/blue wraparound camo. - TA-4F/J of VC-8 Redtails, 2000 in tan/brown. - TA-4F/J of VC-8 Redtails, 2000 in blue/light blue ("Baby Blue"). - TA-4F/J of VF-45 Blackbirds, 1993 in bluegray/gray wraparound camo. - TA-4F of H&MS-31 Aggressors, 1989 in 3 different gray wraparound camo. Included is a variation of the ACMI-Pod. For that I combined ravenclaws ACMI-Pod model with the data.ini of 331Killerbees CAP-9 to make it a missiletype-store than uses a build-in rail. New Hangar- and Loadingscreens are also included with a resolution of 1920x1080 as default and 1024x768 as optional. I changed the cockpit by removing the radar screen. Additional changes are the switched positions of the Accelerometer and AoA-Indicator and Levers for Arresting Hook and Landing Gear are operational now. As in dtmdragons original mod, I retained the cannons for playability, although they are not visible in game. I hope you have fun with it! Sources ======= - Scooter! The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk Story, Crécy 2011 - A-4 Skyhawk Association, http://a4skyhawk.org/ - Airliners.net - Google in general to gather pictures of aggressor skins. Installation ============ 1. unzip to a temporary folder 2. open "Put_Content_In_Your_Mod folder" and do as you were told, if asked to overwrite, say 'yes' :P 3. enjoy! If the Squadrons are missing in the loadout screen, you should add content of the "squadronlist_ini_addon.txt"-file to the squadronlist.ini ("<mod>\pilotdata"-folder) with XXX changed to the next free numbers. If the Aggressors-"Nation" is missing, you have to add the content of "nations_ini_addon.txt"-file to the nations.ini ("<mod>\flight"-folder) with XXX changed to the next free number. Credits ======= - Thirdwire and TK for a great game, models and the cockpit-parts I used. - Fracture, Wrench for the original TA-4J Pack and Model. - dtmdragon for his A-4 Aggressor pack, on which this is based. - RAVEN - LAU-129 missile-rail - ravenclaw_007 - ACMI-Pod - 331Killerbee - CAP-9 from his Ordnance Shop II Pack - Alejandro - Escapac seat - FastCargo - FakePilot - ???? - TopGun pilot - ???? - J52-Sound - ???? - 150gal OV-10A-tank - me - all skins, decals, loadingscreens, ini-work, modified A-4E cockpit. Please PM me, if I forgot someone! Thanks ====== - mue for his great LODViewer, which was a big help while creating the camos and placing stuff! - all modders at CombatAce for their work and inspiration! P.S. ==== If you have any problems with this skin or have suggestions and hints, feel free to PM me. -
1 pointNo, that is the compression. To use indexed color in Photoshop go to "Mode" then select "Indexed Color". In this mode i think you are limited to 256 colors from a preselected list.

1 pointCongratulations on finishing this project! I am sorry that Sophocles had to go through so much upheaval at home, both personally and economically. But despite the heartbreak, stress, and resulting long delays, this F-5A has turned out to be a top-notch add-on. Certainly among the top 5 aircraft you can get, and arguably the best available at this time. I would have enjoyed a lot more back in 2012 when SF2 was still my primary sim of interest. At this point, I primarily play DCS World, but I still download and try out SF2 mods that interest me. This one most certainly interested me. Are there going to be follow on F-5A addons based on this release to cover other users/variants, which aside from texturing and minor FM/model edits shouldn't be too hard or time consuming compared to the previous effort)? I would love to see an SF2 F-5E completed to this level, but that is substantially different and would pretty much be the same as building a new aircraft from scratch apart from being able to reuse a lot of the cockpit and most of the flight model.

1 pointI just flew a few tests in ODS with the GAU-13 gun accuracy down to 10% I would consider the results below an area weapon. Enlarge the screenshots and look at the spread of fire hitting the ground. Each one is a 1-1.5 second burst. My ODS F-16A Block 10 with improved textures, cockpit, avionics, loadouts, effects and updated data.ini (to viper team standards)

MIG-21 Complete Pack Strike Fighters 2 line of games **************************************************** Version 1.8 30.03.2014 Changelog ********* 1.0 19.07.2009 initial release Changed all mig engines accel to about 8-9 sec per engine doc. Bis version is little bit faster. Iddle RPM changed to RL values: R-11F-300 (37F) 30% R-11F2-300 (37F2) 33% R-11F2S-300 (37F2S) 31% R-13 (95) 34% R-25 (25) 40% Corrected fuel tanks quantities to reflect real world figures. F - 2350L PF - 2850L PFM - 2675L MF - 2675L BIS - 2900L Changed all additional files with Mig21_ prefix so all are unique now and not interfere with other mods. F version now have true ranging-only radar. It can be still turned off by Ctrl+PgDn. In current game engine this radar starts on. Added KV1 seat to all MF and Bis variants. Deleted old seat from model. Added SF2 Mig variants. Changed FMs little bit based on Fubar512 values on alpha stall to make Migs usable in knife fight. It not bleeds speed in sharp high AOA turns so much. Added vetral fin from Fubar512 FM. Added aditional SF2 stuff (radar, rwr) into fm dats. 1.1 01.10.2009 Fixed afterburner burner texture always on. Copied additional fuel flow settings from SF2 game dats Added Flight\VIEWLIST.INI file vith custom and more consistent FOV settings for normal/padlock/snap view transitions. 1.2 04.10.2009 Fixed reversed nose gear rotation. Fixed start dates for squadrons in campaigns. 1.3 04.07.2010 Fixed missing AB Flame effect with DX10 shaders (missing shader fx entry). For F, MF and Bis values are: AG gun depression 10mil Rockets depression 35mil Bombs depression 50mil For PM, PFM and PFV values are: AG gun depression 10mil Rockets depression 35mil Bombs depression 35mil Try fire rocket in shallow dive with AOA around 0 deg. Depression values are always compromise without CCIP. Just train well. 1.5 14.07.2010 Removed empty windloop.wav - its up to you how you mod it, if at all. Added radar guided air to air missile capability to all variants from PF up. Added semiactive radar guided RS-2US from SF2 weapon pack as all variants from PF and up can carry it. 1.6 31.07.2010 Removed mirrors from PFM cockpit. PFM does not have top one and even side ones to my best knowledge. 1.7 15.08.2010 Big thanks to Paladrian all pits are now fixed for DX9 and shaders disabled installs. No more white parts in cockpit on Win XP. 1.8 30.03.2014 Sight and modified RP-21 radar image from lukasn22 MiG-21MF cockpit retexture for MF and Bis. Made Bis engine R-25 same as R-13. Original R-25 had bad looping and i do not like it. Fixed centerline station system from left wing to fuselage for PF and PFV. Added loadable GP-9 gun pod for PF, PFV and PFM. This pack inludes nearly all official Thirdwire MIG-21 models as flyable jets with cokcpits in most complete form what my modding knowledge allows. All in easy install form. I am not author of any 3d pits, FMs, sounds. All is what i downloaded from Combatace or made by Thirdwire. I want to thank to original authors of included files and this nice sim. Hope it is ok to reuse their work to provide really complete, up-to-date and easy to install Mig-21 package. I was always sad with that great pits available and terrible way to install it into latest ptached games and it is always missed something. Loading screens, loadout picture, good FM and so on... Now with latest patches FMs are usable and nicely flyable so i used it as base FMs for pack. This pack was done with combined/merged SF2/Europe/Vietnam/Israel games. If your single game install missing model that cause problem, just delete its directory in Objects/Aircraft folder. Probablby PFV is included only in Vietnam. Pack contains folowing stuff: ***************************** Nearly every official MIG-21 flyable with pit for SF2 line of games. I corrected some errors in pits, Used latest TW patches as base for FM fat files with tweaks in engine (thrust for each model, spool up time, radar, weight). FM is not touched and i think it flies now ok with latest patch. Diferent sounds for each engine model is included with Mig RWR sounds. Better Mig pilots too. Each Mig-21 has loading and hangar screen and camouflage sample patch with loadout picture. All includes corresponding serial numbers to choose from. I made Numbers.lst for Arab, Czechoslovakia, East Germany and Poland by hand. Strike Fighters 2 MIG-21F MIG-21PF MIG-21PFV MIG-21PFM MIG-21MF MIG-21bis Notes: ****** MIG-PFM has added LCOS gunsight to be able to use gunpod in fight. More realistic and distictive heaters sounds are included too. Instalation: ************ Simply unpack content of folder "StrikeFighters2" into each your SF2 game mods folder located in your c:\Users\<YourUserName>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\. For example for complete/merged game install, copy content to each this folder: c:\Users\<YourUserName>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 c:\Users\<YourUserName>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Europe c:\Users\<YourUserName>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Israel c:\Users\<YourUserName>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Vietnam Sure paths can be different on your system. This is how it is on my Windows 7. Also copy files after you run all games at least once. Otherwise game overwrite modded files with original ones at initialization and you dont see Migs as flyable. Optional files: Simply unpack content of folder "StrikeFighters2" into each your SF2 game mods folder and allow overwrite files. _BetterCockpits Contains hires cockpit textures. _EasyFM Contains easiest FM files from stock game. _MediumFM Contains intermadiate FM files. Spins are more frequent. _HardFM Contains hardcore FM files. Spins are almost deadly if not handled fast. _PFGunPodLoadout Contains gunpod default loadout for air to air PF and PFV. _ResetInis Contains ini files that are reset to default non flyable ones after game update or DLC install. Just use it to make Migs flyable quickly again Afterword: ********** This version of complete MIG-21 pack is far from to be perfect or complete so feel free to let me know if there is something missed, bad or not working. Also if someone has some more accurate tech data for enhance FMs feel free to mail me and pack get fixed or updated. Finaly thanks to everyone whom work made this pack reality. ************************ONLY FOR SFP2 INSTALL**************************** - First, download the "Meteors_Over_Israel" bunch from here to get the LODs: https://combatace.com/files/file/16825-meteors-over-israel-sf2/ - Once downloaded, just install it as the Readme says. - To install this Egypt Meteor, drop the "Meteor_NF13(REAF)" to the main "Aircraft" game folder. After that, copy/paste the LODs from "Meteors_Over_Israel" NF.13 to "Meteor_NF13(REAF)" directory. - The cockpit used many aircraft parts mixed with TW cockpit by the "OpenCockpit=TRUE" method. I did some tweak over Jarek originals to make it more realistic. - The skin depicts the Meteor NF.13 from Royal Egypt Air Force (REAF) unknown squadron during the "Suez Crisis". Six were delivered and half were downed. Thanks to Jarek Hereda for everything. C.Wilches - October 2018 -

*** SF2+SF2I+V required for the KfirC1_77-Cockpit and optional A-4F_74-Cockpit, that is used here together with bits from the A-7E-Cockpit. Tested in full 5-merged installation *** This pack contains an update to the previously released OA-4M-Pack by Wrench. All skins and decals are newly done for this pack. Included are the following "new" planes and Skins: * OA-4M Skyhawk (2-Tone Gray Camo) - Initial Camo with large insignias and white modex. - H&MS-12, MCAS Iwakuni '81-'83 - H&MS-13, MCAS Yuma, '79-'83 - H&MS-32, MCAS Cherry Point, '79-'83 * OA-4M Skyhawk (GhostGray Camo) - 2nd Camo-Scheme, differently arranged with small insignias and lowvis modex. - H&MS-11, MCAS El Toro, '88-'90 - H&MS-12, MCAS Iwakuni 1986 (Yosemite Sam on Tail) - H&MS-12, MCAS Iwakuni 1989 (Yosemite Sam on Tail, Samurai on Aft Fuselage) - H&MS-13, MCAS Yuma, '83-'88 - H&MS-32, MCAS Cherry Point, '83-'90 * OA-4M Skyhawk (Overall Gray Camo) - There were probably just 2 planes with that camo 154306/DA01 and an unknown 2nd one. Gray overall with black markings. - MAG-32, MCAS Cherry Point, '89-'90 * OA-4M Skyhawk (Blue/Green Camo) - Experimental Camo on 154306/DA01. Dark green / dark blue with white bottom and black markings. - H&MS-32, MCAS Cherry Point, 1983 * OA-4M Skyhawk (Green/Gray Camo) - Experimental Camo on 154628/DA04. Green / gray with gray bottom and inverse markings. - H&MS-32, MCAS Cherry Point, 1985 Planespecific skins for the droptanks are provided (stock A-4 tanks), aswell as a new skin for the stock Mk.20 Rockeye II CBU. Optional: As there's no dedicated OA-4M-Cockpit available, the Pack contains 2 options here: * KfirC1_77 cockpit by default, from dtmdragons A-4M-pack as stand-in. It "feels" better than the big and roomy A-7-Cockpit from the original OA-4M-pack. I also made refinements over dtmdragons version to bring it more towards a modern Skyhawk-Cockpit. Landing Gear-, Arrestor Hook Lever and Rudder pedals are working now, I rearranged and reskinned the weaponspanel, to get rid of the hebrew stencils and Kfirs additional weaponsstations and I removed some instruments, that are useless here (Nozzle- and Shockcone Position). * A-4F_74 cockpit, which is slightly modified by me. It now has a HUD and the Radarscreen is used for the ARBS. Although it was not actually installed in real planes, it is added for playability. Also the HUD is rather small, but works. Included are Hangar- and Loadingscreens in 1920x1080 by default and 1024x768 as option. Just open the planes ini-files and you see what you have to change. There's a readme included. Feel free to read it! :) Installation ============ 1. unzip to a temporary folder 2. open "Put_Content_In_Your_Mod folder" and do as you were told, if asked to overwrite, say 'yes' :P 3. enjoy! il-38N "May" The Il-38N is an adaptation of the four-engined turboprop Ilyushin Il-18 for use as a maritime patrol aircraft for the Soviet Navy. It meets a requirement to counter American ballistic missile submarines. The Communist Party Central Committee and the Council of Ministers issued a joint directive on 18 June 1960, calling for a prototype to be ready for trials by the second quarter of 1962. The fuselage, wing, tail unit and engine nacelles were the same as the Il-18 and it had the same powerplant and flightdeck. An aerodynamic prototype of the Il-38 first flew on 28 September 1961,with the first production aircraft following in September 1967. Production continued until 1972, when the longer range and more versatile Tupolev Tu-142 derivative of the Tupolev Tu-95 strategic bomber had entered service. This is the Improved variant sometimes referred to as Il-38SD for Sea Dragon the new search and tracking system. Lavochkin La-17n and La-17R for Strike Fighters 2 La-17n: Ground launch conversion of the basic La-17 target drone equipped with RD-900 ramjet engine. La-17R: Ground launched reconnaisance version with stretched fuselage, camera bay and powered by an RD-9BK turbojet. FLIGHT MANUAL: These are drones but you crazy test pilots can fly them and have some fun. :P These La-17s have some unusual features like a double landing gear (skids). By default the drone start on the runway with the retractable gear extended, with the right nose up position for take off. About 20°. Now, the AI don't make any use of the JATO unit, but you can. TAKEOFF: Leave the throttle to idle, and activate the JATO with the key used for thrust vectoring the Harrier nozzles down. The rockets will blast you right in the sky and will burn out in about 3 seconds. During this quick process, set the engine thrust to full power. After 5 seconds from the start you can discard the empty rockets by Ctrl-D (Drop tank jettison). Retract the invisible gear and proceed with the mission. Note: for the sake of limitation of the game engine the La-17n have turbojet parameters instead of the true ramjet since the AI can't take off or carefully use an engine that simply offer no thrust at 0 speed and basically the thrust increase directly to the speed. TESTED and DISCARDED. LANDING: Do not extend the gear, you have skids on the engine belly and on wingtips just like sailplanes. During final approach, shut down the engine and descend gently with a speed of about 270Km/h. Once close to the ground and about 240Km/h pull up to kill speed and let the drone gently stall. It will still be under control and will descend quite gently upon touch down. This procedure was applied since the ramjet directly absorbed the impact and limited the damage to the airframe. The engine usually was already good for scrapping by that time anyway. On the turbojet models there was an airbag to absorb the impact. And the engine on the recon drone was intended to be reused as much as possible. AI would do just fine using the retractable gear. ;) WARNING! Both drones are set to SOVIET, in case someone want to have the La-17n target drone set as opponent, you have to change the NationName= in the DATA.INI. But you're still free to fire at friendlies ;) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Installation: Copy all the files in the respective directory of your game folder. The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-17F (NATO reporting name: "Fresco-C") is a high-subsonic fighter aircraft produced in the USSR from 1952 and operated by numerous air forces in many variants. It is an advanced development of the very similar appearing MiG-15 of the Korean War. The MiG-17 first saw combat in 1958 over the Straits of Taiwan and was used as an effective threat against supersonic fighters of the United States in the Vietnam War. It was also briefly known as the "Type 38", by U.S. Air Force designation prior to the development of NATO codes. Soviet Navy Vertical Pack 1.00 This is the first complete version of the Vertical Pack, now including the Yak-41M (also known by its commercial designation as Yak-141). I have modeled the plane as if it was deployed into combat units with its military designation Yak-41M. The plane served aboard the aircraft cruisers Novorossiysk and Baku, and on the aircraft carriers Tbilisi and Riga, from 1991-2010. This is a fine tuned or modified collection of everything I could find to improve the planes. I lot of time was invested in research and testing to provide you a working and accurate Yak-38/38M and Yak-41M. All feedback and suggestions are appreciated. Install I tried to include every component I have used with the planes, so it should work with a fresh unmodded SF2:NA. If you have DirX 9 and Win XP, then you also need Gerwin's IcelandNA modded terrain for XP to be able to play SF2NA on your PC. Just copy everything into your designated add-on folder and it should work. Beware it may overwrite existing add-on files and components you already have. Check it first, especially weapons. ****************** NEW in 1.0 version ****************** New content - Yak-41M VTOL flyable - old Su-27 cockpit for Yak-41M (Temporary) - Yak-41M Soviet Navy skin (completely new) - Yak-41M Soviet/Russian Navy Camo skin (completely new) - Yak-141 Commercial Prototype skin (completely new) - Stary's Yak-38 cockpit included (+ini changes for compatibilty) - Yak-38M Desert Camo skin from Afghanistan, Operation Romb 1980 (New) - Yak-38M Naval Camo skin, Tbilisi (Adm Kuznetsov) testing unit (New) - Mi-8T Soviet Navy skin (Unarmed transport and passenger version without pylons) - Yak-41M new afterburner effect, lift engines included. - Yak-41M OLS type IR Search&Tracking device added to 3D model. - Yak-41M added APU-470, AKU-58 and BD3-USK type pylon 3D objects for correct display - Modified Kiev class Aircraft cruiser data - AA-10, AA-11 and AA-12 missiles and Kh-31A, Kh-31P, Kh-35 ASM-s included (minor value changes apply) - Delta-NG control pod new 3D object and skin. - VSPU-36 gun pod new 3D object and skin (color variants included for different skins). - MBD2-67U quadruple bomb rack new 3D object and skin. - Yak-38 500liter drop tank new 3D object and skin. - Yak-38/38M Flight Manual Text - Yak-41M Flight Manual Text - Yak-41M textures are now JPG to save space - Kiev class aircraft cruiser name decals - Kiev class tactical numbers separately done, due to decal limit per mesh. - General purpose Soviet Navy red star insignia for ships - Soviet Navy Ship tactical number decal set 001-999 - Updated decal.ini files for ships (Udaloy, Slava, Kirov, Kresta II, Kashin, Krivak and Ulyanovsk) to display new ship numbers, insignia and name decals. - Wide-screen 16:9 and old 4:3 Hangar and Loading background pictures are both included in each aircraft folder. It uses a more realistic launch arrangement. This "variant" of the ship is now Kiev (82) class, added separately for campaign use. In 1982 pilots have started to use STOL takeoff doctrine. The "catapult" launch places has been reduced to two, and are using the majority of the deck, along the two converging yellow lines which have this exact purpose. The ship otherwise the same like Kiev (wo. suffix) VTOL mode. - Separate Flight Manuals in text files. - Yak-38/38M flight model has been simplified with the usage of center-of-mass shift. I did not know that feature earlier. It has no change on the previous flight performance. - Mi-8T added lights and optional unarmed version without pylons. ************************** Previous version 0.98 BETA ************************** Contents - Paladrian's MiG-21MF cockpit (temporary solution) - Yak-38 VTOL flyable. - Yak-38M VTOL flyable. - Weapons: OFAB-100, 250, 500 etc from SovietBombPack; Kh-23 missiles, UB-8M, UPK-23 gun pod and MBD2 racks from Ordnance Shop II; APU-60-1 rack from Cocas - Soviet Pacific Fleet skin (Modified stock skin, set as default) - Soviet Navy Grey skin (Redrawn stock skin) - Soviet Northern Fleet skin (Redrawn stock skin) - Soviet Navy pilot Bright orange overalls (Redrawn Red3202 pilot skin made by The Trooper) - Two loadout.ini for both aircraft, a loadout.VTOL and a loadout.STOL. Overwrite loadout.ini to switch between them as you wish for AI and campaing use. - Three Kiev_data.ini's one for STOL and one for VTOL style take offs. Use the VTOL loadout file for the VTOL take-off modded Kiev, for safety reasons. The third INI has a "castrated" take off position #1 (Catapult 1) to enable human player VTOL take-off, for Soviet Navy campaigns and missions. Fixes - Fixed engine thrust vectors and exhaust positions - Re-added lift engines to fuselage - Fixed number decals position - Fixed pylon ordnance positions - Fixed Ranging Radar and gun pod's aim point - Fixed Kiev class carrier "catapult positions" and AI aircraft take-off. Now they can use all six takeoff positions, and supports vertical takeoff. Changes - Real thrust data added based on factory data. - Yak-38 automatic slats by Gepard - New vertical capable flight model, weight and torque balanced airframe. - Changed lift engines thrust angle to 80 degrees to the aft. - Engine thrust toned down by 10% to reflect real payload lifting capabilities. - Realistic payload choices added. Be warned, pylons are physically capable to hold much heavier payload than the plane can take off with. See payload info at the end of file. - Modified weapon stations to hold realistic payload - Removed plane numbers from 01-09 (Those were in use of Yak-38U two seaters) - Modification of plane numbers. SF2 Antonov An-2 "Colt" by Pasko 9/1/2013 = For SF2 (Any/All; Full5 Merged Reccomended) *Note: this mod will probably NOT work in SF/Wo* 1stGens at any patch Level* Modifications, tweeks, partial reskinning and redecaling for Pasko's An-2, bring it (more in line) with SF2 levels. Included are the 4 skins, most still in their 1stGen tiny sized bmp format: Aeroflot Soviet Green North Korean Black Polish Camo The Aeroflot skin was partly redone, to remove the painted on registration number; 17 new historically accurate number decals were created for it. Decal randomization is TRUE for all skins. See "Change List" below for more details. This aircraft includes the data ini posted by Dave on the CA boards; I don't know who built the FM, but it's MUCH better now!! However, further fine tuning MAY be requried, as during testing, I experienced wingman crashings on take off. Be Advised! Control/O (Oh, not Zero) opens the cargo door on the side. Weapons are NOT included. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! PLEASE read the "Notes" section for the change list. For those that have the 1stGen releases, it's advised you delete, or move to a storage disk or elsewhere, the aircraft and decals folders for them; this pak is desinged to replace them in total. For those having this aircraft from other "all inclusive" mods pack, you may wish to review this pak before installing it over your existing aircraft. For saftey's sake, and all that kind of stuff. **The aircraft herein are released in "AS IS" Condition. Any and all issues/problems that cannot be solved via ini edits will exist forever, as new models are unlikely to be created** Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein
